Shillings Agency #3

Seducing the Princess

Rate this book
A sexy category romance from Entangled's Brazen imprint...

He'll give her exactly what she needs…

Protecting a princess is not what former marine Gordon Waybrook signed up for when he joined the Shillings Agency. But instead of the spoiled, regal little creature he expects, Isabelle VanGuard is a fiery, sexy-as hell woman who's been denied what she needs for too long. And he's just the man to break through her frozen public facade and give it to her.

When she's with Gordon, all Isabelle can think about is pleasure. Their blistering chemistry is immediate and intense, but volatile. In fact, the only thing they agree on is that their one night together is just that—one night. Even after it becomes more. But tempers and temptation can't disguise reality. Isabelle is a princess, and a hot, hard, and tattooed bodyguard isn't the Prince Charming her country expects…even if he's exactly what she needs.

4 Talk Dirty To Me Stars

One word. One slight movement toward him, and she'd be his. He'd make her come so many times she'd forget what it felt like to be a proper princess.

So here's the thing, I am not a reader that really enjoys the idea of Princes or Princesses in my books. I went through the Harlequin phase a while ago and I'm not looking to go back. Well that is, unless you're Diane Alberts. Because in that case, I don't care who's in the book and what they do because I already know I'm in for some sexy deliciousness.

I have been dying to get my hands on Gordon's book since he was first introduced in Stealing His Heart. What? We're talking about a tatted up former Marine. And if you know me you know at the very first HINT of this, my inner pervert went SOLD!

Dare I say this was my favorite book in the series?

The last thing that Gordon Waybrook want to do is to guard a spoiled and prissy princess. He doesn't have time to spare her uptight and proper little feelings. But a job is a job...until he gets a good look at her...

Isabelle VanGuard may be a princess, but she's not at all what Gordon expected. She's fiery, she's down to earth, and she also temps him with every sway of her hips. She may need to settle down with a proper prince for the good of her country, but she can't help but want the sexy and dirty talking Marine that's only there to guard her body.

And can't say I blame you, Isabelle, because with a mouth like Gordon has, I wouldn't be able to resist either.
I really enjoyed this book. It was light and sexy and exactly what I needed. When I first read the blurb I was afraid that Isabelle may be a bit too uptight for my tastes...or worse...a virgin. Luckily she was none of those things. She was sharp witted though if a little sheltered. But that only managed to endear me to her even more.

Gordon was just dirty talking deliciousness. The man was perfection! Dirty talking and even dirtier sex perfection. It just doesn't get better than that. If you're a fan of this series, than you will love this one. And if you haven't read it yet then I highly recommend you do.

A perfect weekend read to add some spice into your night.

3.5 "You might own a fucking country, but tonight... I own you." Stars.

The third book in the Shillings Agency series takes a step into the realms of the imaginary, with the introduction of Princess Isabelle VanGuard of Maldeva.

Journeying to the U.S for issues of great importance in relation to the continued prosperity of her country as well as meeting the man her parents deem may be a suitable match for her marriage, Isabelle is assigned one of Shilling’s finest operatives in the form of tattooed, straight talking, take-no-shit, former marine Gordon Waybrook.

"Just for one night, whatever you'd like, it's yours. I'd give it to you, no questions."

Their connection is instant, their chemistry undeniable, but can a Princess, and a Marine with a penchant for being in charge in the bedroom truly work together in the long run...

Seducing the Princess is an enjoyable addition to the Shillings series, I liked Gordon, for all of his reluctance to commit, he was quite happy to step up to the plate when the chips were down for Isabelle. The whole royal theme, didn’t really blow me away, but I could appreciate where the author was going with the story.

He was an American version of pure temptation.

Looking forward to seeing if the I.T geek Holt will get a book next, there is certainly a story there begging to be told!

I make no bones that I am a bugger to please when it comes to the royalty trope, but Jen McLaughlin/Diane Alberts has done what she does best and her take on it was pretty near perfect. Everything just worked; the chemistry, the fight, the fun and the emotion, and whilst it held no huge surprises, it was a hot, romantic journey with slight air of one of my all-time favourite films, Coming to America. Seducing the Princess seduced this commoner.

description

Princess Isabelle VanGuard may have the title and the etiquette and the elegance to match it, but when she meets her protector whilst on US soil, her composure is put to the test. There's no resisting tattooed former-marine Gordon Waybrook, the feeling is mutual and it's not long before they're performing duties that would make the palace blush...

description

They were fabulous together...and a little surprising. Gordon is a talker. Oh yes, aside of being protective, demanding and bossy, he has a bit of a dirty mouth on him. But he's also a complete and utter sweetheart. Isabelle is strong-willed, stubborn and fiery, yet submissive. And it worked; their chemistry jumped off the pages from the start, it held humour and frustration and with huge expectations resting on Isabelle's shoulders, it's always there that Gordon can never be more than a one night fling.

description

If you're a fan of Jen/Diane, I doubt you'll be disappointed. Seducing the Princess has leapt to the top of the leader board in her Shillings Agency series and I adored Gordon, Isabelle and their journey.

4.5 stars.

#STP1_

Seducing the Princess by Diane Alberts reminded me of a modern day version of Cinderella, The Bodyguard and Coming to America. Well in the case for Diane Alberts, she made her book a lot more sexy, hot, steamy and titillating. And of course, she gave her readers that perfect fairy tale ending that suited the Princess and her Prince Charming. Like most Entangled Brazen books, kindles will be heating up with Seducing the Princess. When a Princess is scheduled to come to America to meet her potential husband, she didn’t expect to fall into bed with her assigned bodyguard and have hot, rough, and sensual sex. So after a taste of forbidden and raw, passionate sex, can the princess stay away from her bodyguard since after all she will be marrying another man? Or will the raw strong desire that’s been brewing between the bodyguard and the Princess be too hard to stay away? Will the princess succumb to her own wants and needs or will she uphold her duties to her country?

#STP

Seducing the Princess was downright HOT and SEXY!! There’s not much to say but Diane Alberts not only delivered one sexy read but she made me loved this book. How could you not love a modern twist of a fairytale? A princess searching for her version of prince charming and knight in shining armor. In the case for Princess Isabelle, she found her prince in a tattooed former Marine bodyguard. And Gordon took his job seriously to serve, to protect and to fulfill her needs. And he definitely kept true to his words and fulfilled every fantasy and sexual awakening for the Princess. Isabelle was so used to commanding orders but Gordon made her relinquish all the control because he dominated her body with pleasure and pain. And in doing so, Isabelle found herself loving this raw sexual pleasure Gordon awakened in her. So if you are looking for a hot new read that you can’t put down, then I suggest you read Seducing the Princess. And let me just say Gordon not only seduces the Princess but will definitely have readers begging him for more. Trust me, you might find yourself saying “Please, Gordon” after reading this book. ;)

Ever read a book where you have to choose between sleep and continuing to read?

I choose to finish the book. It was a quick hot read. I liked the characters a lot. Did they fall in love quickly? Yes. But I'm a hopeless romantic so that doesn't bother me. Gordon was a dirty talking hottie, of course I was going to love that. Isabelle was sweet, but yet fierce.

Great read, def recommend!

2.5 Princesses don't....stars

Isabelle VanGuard of Maldeva finds herself in America to meet her potential husband that has been arranged for her. It will please her parents, and most importantly, her country, if she went along with this highly suited union.

Gordon Waybrook is the Shillings agency protector, who has been assigned to accompany Princess Isabelle whilst she is in the country. An ex-marine with trauma issues that still gave him nightmares, he hadn’t envisaged the hot headed, single minded woman who approached him in the coffee shop, to be his royal client. Especially as his immediate attraction to her was going to be difficult to contain.

I cannot fault the writing of this book, because I have enjoyed Diane’s stories before, but this one was very difficult for me to get into. I feel the story lacked a little depth, and as a consequence found the concept more like Disney porn, as a reviewer has already eluded to…Merida does Maine.

The storyline for me could have been acceptable, but it just converted in my brain as steamy cheese. I could not align Gordon spanking Belle’s royal dimples as anything erotic.

I’m sorry to say, but in this instance, this was a right royal flop for me :(

This steamy romance, third in the Shillings Agency series but easily read as a standalone, is the story of Gordon and Isabelle. When Gordon is assigned to guard the haughty princess Isabelle, he sees beyond the facade to the woman underneath, one who is willing to take a chance with him for a night of passion, even if it should never be repeated. But when one night leads to another and real feelings start to develop between them, will it all fall apart before they can give thought to a real future together?

I really enjoyed this take on the classic royalty/bodyguard romance. The author did an excellent job of creating a fictional country with a modern twist, where an arranged marriage would be still considered appropriate for the good of two countries, and the expectations of society for the conduct of royalty would include conduct of a princess beyond reproach. This of course makes the clandestine affair between Gordon and Isabelle all the sweeter, knowing that it's a forbidden affair and that the clock is ticking. I liked both characters in the story - Isabelle for her contrasting private and public personalities and Gordon for being able to see beyond Isabelle's facade to the real woman underneath. The love scenes between them were super steamy and fun to read, full of emotion and heart. The eventual conflict and resolution was well put together and the whole read was entertaining from beginning to end. 4.5 stars!

See more of my reviews on my blog Thoughts At One In The Morning.

My Thoughts:

Now this story is one to check out! A princess being protected by a strong military man? Yes, please. And another book by Diane Alberts? Yes, definitely.

From the second this book starts, you are drawn in. I enjoyed watching Gordon break down Isabelle's defenses, teaching her about life beyond being prim and proper. And I loved seeing Isabelle give in to it. Her royal obligations--to marry to benefit her country--is something that she believes is necessary to do. The idea of marrying someone for love isn't a possibility. Being with Gordon, however, is stirring up emotions in her that she never imagined she could have when she marries. But is it possible that she could marry the person she wants to marry, and not the person her family expects her to?

Seducing the Princess completely pulled me into the story. Seeing everything play out--the back and forth and the emotions and the possibilities--it was just spectacular. When Gordon and Isabelle are together, the sparks FLY. I just loved it. The ending was so lovely. I could read it over and over!

My Rating: Very Good

This is the third book in this series and it was kinda like Disney meets Erotica.

Isabelle is a Princess and is currently in America to meet her future husband who is also a Prince. Shillings Agency gets hired to protect the Princess while she is in town and Gordon is one of the bodyguards assigned to her.

When these two meet, the sparks fly but they could not be more wrong for each other. She is a uptight Princess and he is merely a humble bodyguard. However when the mask slips and he gets to know the real Belle, he sees her in a way no-one else does. She still has to marry the Prince though as she owes it to her country and her sense of duty always comes first.

As I said it was a bit of a Disney Fairy tale story with the Princess theme, however lots and lots of hot steamy scenes, which are far far from any Disney movie you will ever see or read about!!

A enjoyable read, however I still preferred the first two books in this series more....:) I guess I am not a fan of the whole Princess theme!!!!

“Ask me nicely.” Never have three words made me so hot. When you read this book you will understand why.

Diane Alberts has given us another fantastic book in the Shillings Agency series. After the last book I was hoping for a story for Gordon and we got it and boy what a book. I loved this book. From the first page to the last, every single one had me hooked.

I loved the idea of a tattooed, ex-marine falling for a privileged princess and reading them go toe to toe in and out of the bedroom was a delight. I may have laughed out loud more than once while reading this book. Especially when Princess Isabelle gets some well-known phrases wrong.

“All right, Mr. Ass Pants.” He choked on a laugh. “Mr. What?”

These two are going straight to my favourite couples list. They were just so much fun to read. Plus the chemistry is smoking. You can almost hear the crackle from the sparks whenever they are on a page together.

“He was so dirty. So rough. So hot. He could be reading the newspaper out loud, but he’d find a way to make it sexy. Knowing him, by the time he got to the classifieds, she’d be begging for him to take her.”

I totally agree and add in Gordon’s gorgeous dog and I was a goner much like Isabelle was. Man, tattoos, dog, great in bed, how can you resist and more importantly why would you?

When Gordon Waybrook is assigned to guard Princess Isabelle VanGuard on her trip to the States he never expected that she would be beautiful, feisty and incredibly sexy. It was meant to be an easy assignment. But that’s not what happened, at all.

Isabelle has always followed all the rules, done what a princess should and is about to continue that by meeting her future fiancé. Too bad she can’t get her mind, eyes or hands off her assigned bodyguard Gordon. Who knew that tattoos and a hot body could be so tempting?

When they give into their passion for a night, it was supposed to be just that, one night. But chemistry like theirs can’t be denied and one night turns into more. When a not so secret after all tryst comes to the media’s attention, it forces them to face the music. Belle is princess after all, she should not be caught in a compromising position. Even if the man she was with makes her happy.

In an effort to save the royals from scandal back home, a quickie romance is concocted. Despite Belle telling Gordon to run far and fast, he sticks around to help her. But when people step in to “help” the couple, things get complicated and feelings are hurt and harsh things are said.

But with both of them miserable, can an unlikely ally help them find the happiness they briefly shared and show them the way to their HEA?

We get brief appearances from Cooper and Jake from the previous books in the series, which had me cracking up. This can absolutely read as a stand-alone though.

I love this series, plain and simple. Diane Alberts writes hero’s that you instantly love. And yes I fully admit to having a huge crush on Gordon. I would ask him nicely every day and twice on Sunday’s.

As the only child of the King and Queen of Maldeva, Isabelle VanGuard has grown up knowing what was expected of her. Simply put, she is expected to marry someone of her parents’ choosing and produce heirs to the throne. This duty is what brings her to Maine and into the path of Gordon Waybrook.

Gordon is a former Marine, now working private security for Shillings Agency. His current assignment is to protect Princess Isabelle. Immediately, Gordon is hating the assignment and has a preconceived idea of what Isabelle is like. Their attraction is immediate and Gordon soon discovers that first impressions are wrong.

When I first heard about Gordon, I wasn’t sure if I would like him. But, oh my gosh. He’s up there with Cooper Shillings and I have a serious thing for Cooper. I found Gordon to be sweet. Yeah, not something he would want to be called, but he is. Gordon has a dirty mouth and likes to be in control, but it’s all good. He’s loyal, insightful, and understanding. He brings out the best in Isabelle and introduces her to life and having fun.

Isabelle and Gordon agree to a one-time sexcapade, but once just isn’t enough. Twice isn’t enough. Three times isn’t enough. You get where I’m going. While the two think they are keeping things under wraps, to anyone paying attention, their feelings for one another are visible. When their secret relationship hits the press, Isabelle’s reputation is put at risk and she risks losing the respect of her people. Gordon steps in to do what is needed, proving just what kind of guy he is.

Gordon Waybrook and Seducing the Princess are definitely in my top five favorite reads from Diane Alberts.

I started this year as a big fan of Jen's NA novels and, over the course of the last few months, I've become just as big a fan of her adult novels in the Brazen line. The Shillings Agency novels are perfect for those of us who like our heroines strong, our men sinfully sexy and our romance smoking hot (and just a wee bit dirty).

Isabelle and Gordon were perfect opposites and I loved them together. They shared a fiery passion. Gordon made me sweat. He was fiercely protective and, while he was controlling in the bedroom, there was never any doubt he had Isabelle's needs in mind. And boy did he ever tend to them. *fans self* While their affair was hot and steamy, it also had real feels attached. And I felt every single one of them. Of course, Isabelle's betrothed to another man and that was bound to cause some serious drama. It's not the first time I've read a story about a woman willing to give up passion and love for the good of her family (or company or country) but there was a bit of an unexpected twist to this one. Not only was it unexpected, but it made the book just that much better for me.

I don't really like to play favorites when it comes to books in a series (even a standalone series like this), but there was something about Seducing the Princess that definitely made it stand out for me. Hence the five-star rating. I'm a sucker for pretty much anything having to do with royalty, so the book grabbed me right from the start with the idea of a princess and her bodyguard getting it on. Add in the fact that the hero is ex-military and I'm all over it. I can't recommend this book highly enough.

I dived into Seducing the Princess not knowing what to expect. Is it a modern day fairytale?

I enjoyed the book for what it is; a piece of escapism. It's an entertaining story that takes you away from the realities of real life for a few hours.

I'm immediately drawn to the very likable Gordon Waybrook, ex-Marine now security agent working for The Schilling Agency. He's a tough, good looking and sexy guy but underneath his tattooed skin, he's rehabilitating after active service and nightmares are still a frequent occurrence. His new assignment is to keep a visiting spoilt, foreign princess safe during a private visit to US.

Isabelle Van Guard is a feisty, beautiful young woman; a princess from Maldeva who's in Maine to meet up with a prince from the Kingdom of Linton. The meet-up is a formality before an engagement between these young royals is announced. Isabelle is torn between duty for her country; after all she'll be a queen one day, and wanting to follow her heart.

There is an instant attraction between Gordon and Isabelle and despite all the hurdles I was routing for them as a couple. Lines between them become blurred as both protagonists want to act and behave like a normal couple, but too quickly they are reminded that culturally they are not on the same page. Or are they? Evidence of their illicit liaison comes to light which causes a scandal. How they both react and respond to this news is a surprise to both of them.

I've read this as a standalone and am intrigued to read more about the guys of The schilling Agency. Overall I liked this book but after repeatedly told and reminded that Isabelle is a princess and royal protocol it got rather tiresome. On a final note, Prince William and not Prince Harry married Kate Middleton ;-)

This book has everything that makes Brazen romances great. A strong, caring, and supportive leading man; a self assured, powerful, and passionate leading lady, and sexy, sexy, sexy, sex. It also doesn't seem to hurt that she just happens to be a princess and he is the guard assigned to...well, guard her.

Throw in an intense attraction that neither expected, a few well timed and rather kinky rolls in the Mustang, bed, (insert place here_____) a scandal of international proportions, and a whole lotta love...and you have Diane Albert's Seducing The Princess.

Gordon may not have 'blue blood', but it is quite clear from the start that he has the 'knight in shining armor' thing down.
The gleam of the steel in his spirit is the perfect accompaniment to the glint of the iron in that of his princess. Nothing about this worldwind romance can be referred to as staid, boring, or expected.
There is a great deal of twisty and turny to be had plot wise, making the story a great balance of the sensual and the fanciful, and proving that even royalty has to sometimes go that extra mile to truly find her prince.

I give it 3.5

Yup Gordon is a good character. He made an appearance in the previous book and I looked forward to his story. I like how he was immediately attracted to Isabelle and she was immediately attracted to him. When we were in her POV I actually felt really bad for her. I can’t imagine not being aloud to make decisions about your own life. George is a unappealing person. I was disgusted in the chauvinistic behaviors he showed. Actually all of the men who were of royal stature. I cannot imagine not even asking somebody what they wanted before ordering it for them. I don’t know who I felt worse for Isabelle or Gordon. Having to watch her go on a fake date with someone she didn’t like I would be disgusted and then when George dismisses Gordon it’s annoying Isabelle should have shut it down. I guess when something is drilled into you your entire life you can’t help it. Then boom a whirlwind of drama. It was a bit fast and so much was going on. I sort of wished they fired the PR lady. What a B! Anyway I love how Gordon was willing to do anything for Isabelle even give up his happiness for hers. I love HEA and all the mushy stuff.

Isabelle is a princess, and hot, hard, and tattooed bodyguard isn't the Prince Charming her country expects…even if he's exactly what she needs.
This was a good story. Both of the characters were likable. I’m not crazy about the princess/prince trope but this one was good enough to keep reading. I recommend.

I started this sometime last year but didn't log it so picked it up again in chapter 5 where things got STEAMY with Gordon and Belle's first time.
The thing I liked about this category romance: the pace is quick, as you'd expect in cat-rom and the sexy times were hot with shades of D/s and lots of spanking. The thing I didn't like was that they didn't communicate with each other, each assuming that they were doing the other a favour - Belle because she didn't want to burden him with the giving up his privacy for a life the public eye and Gordon because he wasn't good enough for a Princess.

Level of anxiety and sadness 😱😢: The book wasn't sad it was cute and sweet.

The book itself📖: it was a nothing special story and yet again a sweet one. Very heart warming and cute.
I liked the characters and the cheese outline of the story. It's an escape from reality it its finest

Do americans actually believe, that there are european monarchies that works the way this made up one those in this book?? European countries with kings and/or queens, are all democracies where the king/queen have no power what so ever. They are essentially caketoppers, with no political power or influence. So the misconseptions of this book, kind of ruined then story for me

Man, that's SO BAD. And by that, I mean using the "you interrupt me, so I can't finish explaining to you the truth" method. That method is SO BAD. And I thought this was okay; 2 stars. BUT THEN THAT METHOD WAS USED. And I do not vibe with that at all.

Too long. I was too bored. Was gonna DNF at 50%, but this ain't even that long anyway, so I decided to finish it.

Feel in love with Belle and Gordon

Loved Gordon & Belle. Loved her called her Belle. That was my Mom’s name. You don’t hear that much anymore. Wishing here would be another book to see where they are now and whether they had a boy or a girl. Maybe Seducing the Queen.

Seducing the Princess is the third book in the Shillings Agency series by Jen McLaughlin writing as Diane Alberts. This book is a standalone with interconnected characters, and you do not need to have read the rest of the series to understand this story though fans of the series will recognize some familiar faces. I thought that this book was a quick and easy read that was enjoyable. While there were parts that I enjoyed, this story wasn't anything really new or fresh. It was good, but I just didn't love it.

Gordon Waybrook has just received the assignment to protect a princess for the Shillings Agency, and is not looking forward to dealing with an entitled snob. To make matters worse, she shows up late to their first meeting. But once he starts to get to know princess Isabelle, he quickly realizes that he was all wrong about her. She is feisty and sexier than he would have thought, and they decide to spend a passionate night together. Though Isabelle wants Gordon, she knows that they can't have anything beyond a quick fling with her duty being to her country. She is set to marry a prince that will help her country regardless of the fact that she doesn't want to marry the stranger. But soon Gordon and Isabelle are developing real feelings for one another, and both of them would do anything to keep Isabelle from marrying someone else.

Gordon was a sexy bodyguard and former marine that was also a really great guy. He had a great code of ethics, and was determined to be an honorable guy after what his father put his mother through. Though he wanted Isabelle, once he found out there was a possibility of someone else in her life he did his best to keep his distance and remain professional despite his feelings. I really admired that about him, and it made me think he was that much greater. He was commanding and alpha, and I enjoyed seeing him boss Isabelle around in the bedroom. Isabelle was feisty and I loved that she wasn't a mild and meek Disney type princess. She was committed to doing the right thing for her country, but she also wasn't afraid to be who she was or go after what she wanted. I liked that what Gordon did had no bearing on her feelings for him, and she wasn't stuck up or entitled at all. These two had amazing chemistry right from the start and were super hot together. I thought that their sexy scenes were definitely the highlights of this book.

I will say though that I felt like this book was pretty rushed, and I didn't fully buy into their emotional connection. Yes, they did share things with one another that they typically didn't with others, but I really saw more of the lust between them than actual love. Gordon even admitted that he wasn't sure what love was or that he felt it for Isabelle. I wish that we could have seen more of the depth and developing bond between them, rather that just the physical side and the constant push and pull. I think that her indecision on if she should put herself or her country first hurt the development of her relationship with Gordon, and I would have liked to have seen her figure things out a bit sooner. It wasn't all Isabelle's fault though, as Gordon made plenty of mistakes himself. I also thought that their relationship suffered from so many outsiders interfering, but with Isabelle being a Royal it was realistic. I wish that Isabelle and Gordon had actually talked more though, as I think that better communication would have cleared up a lot of the problems and assumptions between them. While I enjoyed and liked this story, it isn't one that I would read over and over. I thought that the sex between them was hot and steamy, but beyond that the story to me was just okay. If you are looking for a good story with plenty of sexy times, you might give this one a shot. But if you are looking for more depth, this might not be the story for you.

THIS. BOOK. IS. THE. BOMB. DOT. COM.

Out of all the Shilling Agencies books, this is my absolute favorite. FOR REAL.

A foreign princess, all regal on the outside but a dirty slut deep inside, getting all down and dirty with her oh so sexy bodyguard? Don't mind if I do. I'm a serious sucker for any good girls-bad boys pairing, and this plot line just grabbed me.

Let's talk about Isabelle Vanguard -- she's a foreign princess brought to the US under the protection of the Shillings Agency to meet her fiancee prince for the first time for an arranged marriage. A young woman as she is, and a royal for that matter, she can't argue with that. A princess does what a princess has to do... and that is to do anything for the sake of the country. And of course, that comes with the saying... "Princesses don't..."fill in the blank". But the moment her eyes met with a handsome stranger at a coffee shop, with a little bit of flirting here and there, she can't forget about him.
"Princesses don't flirt with strange men, and they definitely don't do it without proper introduction."
Imagine her surprise when she finds out the handsome stranger turns out to be her bodyguard...Well, damn.
Isabelle shook her head, unable to believe this hunk of a guy had been assigned to her. Her guards were usually old, overweight, and balding. Not... delicious. "You're actually my guard?"

"Yep." He cocked his head. "Is that a problem?"

Yes, it was. "No. Of course not."
Also, imagine her surprise when she realizes he's the type of guy who won't take off his coat to throw over a puddle for her to cross just because she's a princess. And that's got her intrigued.
"You do realize I'm actually a princess, right?" she asked over her shoulder. "In my country, the people treat me with respect and kindness. They don't push me."

"Then walk faster. Because in my country?" He opened the bathroom door for her, glancing around to make sure it was empty. "We give respect when it's earned. Not because it' s a right. Now go pee quickly... Princess."
Sexy bodyguard Gordon Waybrook is a man of hot muscle and pure deliciousness... and he's also a cocky SOB, with an uptop teasing sense of humor. He's infuriating, in a good way and person of pure loyalty.
"Then you're fucking mine," he said. "You have been since you sat next to me in that coffee shop."
Every turn of a page in this book exhudes sizzles from how hot the sexual tension between them is. And by god, Jen McLaughlin is an author who can make an innocent strip scene seem so very sexy, I might as well need lots of cold water. Lots and lots of steamy scenes! Just what I expected from a Brazen Imprint.

I adored the chemistry build up between Belle and Gordon, the absolute love-hate relationship. And it doesn't matter if this book is a real quick read -- the speed is just right and absolutely perfect. The beginning, the middle and the end. A total win.And of course, I'm not just talking about the sexual tension. The drama just slips in perfectly, without being over the top.

This book has earned its rightful spot on my favorites shelf. A highly recommended read. Fun, flirty, and absolutely steamy sexy. Can be read as a stand alone, but of course, it would be better to have read the first two books of the Shilling Agency series.

She was a princess, and he'd never be good enough for a woman like her.
She'd expect castles, horses, world tours, and jewels.
Not cape cods, dogs, Maine, and nightmares.

It's an interesting premise, the princess and the bodyguard and it totally worked for me.  It got me thinking about royalty and arranged marriages, specifically, Prince Albert and Princess Charlene of Monaco.  I thought of her when Isabelle talked about what was expected of her as a princess.

Charlene married a man 20 years older than her, who possibly fathered a couple of kids out of wedlock (actually he acknowledged at least 2 and has 2 by other women)  and cried her way through the wedding ceremony. On top of everything else, she tried to leave the guy 3 times before the wedding. She was with him for 5 years before she married him and he played around on her during that time and yet she still married him.  That must be one hell of an arrangement.  I mean, look at the photos below, when he kissed her after the civil ceremony, I bet she threw up in her mouth a little.  And the second photo?  She is crying and he is looking at her like she's out of her mind.  She probably was.  To top it off, she gave birth to twins this week, talk about immaculate conception.

arranged

Ok.  This was what was going through my mind when I read this book.  Isabelle had the pleasure of Gordon's company, his intimate company, several times and realized that she liked the way Gordon took control in the bedroom.  Think about it, you're a princess and you're expected to act a certain way and make decisions in terms of what is best for your country. Your personal needs and wants are not a high priority.  Along comes this smokin' hot, dominant and authoritative guy and he totally takes control in the bedroom and in some other aspects of your life.  What do you do?
He tightened his grip on her shoulder.  "You might own a fucking country, but tonight... I own you. Understood, Princess?"

She gasped, her stomach tightening at his naughty words.  She'd never, ever been spoken to like that.  Never talked dirty.  It was a heady rush that she was doing it now.  Here. With him.

"I understand."

Isabelle found solace with Gordon.  Once she let him in and let go, she found someone she connected with physically and emotionally.  The other guy she was supposed to marry was a toad.  Whether Gordon realized it or not, he was her Prince Charming.  A totally hot and domineering Prince Charming ;).
