Daisy Meadows is the pseudonym used for the four writers of the Rainbow Magic children's series: Narinder Dhami, Sue Bentley, Linda Chapman, and Sue Mongredien. Rainbow Magic features differing groups of fairies as main characters, including the Jewel fairies, Weather fairies, Pet fairies, Petal fairies, and Sporty fairies.
Narinder Dhami was born in Wolverhampton, England on November 15, 1958. She received a degree in English from Birmingham University in 1980. After having taught in primary and secondary schools for several years she began to write full-time. Dhami has published many retellings of popular Disney stories and wrote the Animal Stars and Babes series, the latter about young British girls of Asian origin. She lives in Cambridge, England with her husband and cats.
Sue Bentley was born in Northampton, England. She worked in a library after completing her education and began writing for children once her own began school. Bentley is the author of the Magic Kitten, Magic Puppy, and S Club series and lives in Northamptonshire.
Linda Chapman has written over 50 children's fiction books, including the following series: My Secret Unicorn, Stardust, Not Quite a Mermaid, and Unicorn School. She lives in Leicestershire with her husband and daughters.
Sue Mongredien was born in 1970 and grew up in Nottingham, England. She has published over 100 children's books, including the following series: The Adventures of Captain Pugwash, The Magic Key, Frightful Families, and Oliver Moon. She has also contributed many titles to the Sleepover Club series and written picture books. Mongredien created the Royal Ballet School Diaries under the pen name Alexandra Moss. She lives with her family in Bath, England.
Lily Hart and her best friend Jess Forester are helping at Lily's parents 'Helping Paw Wildlife Hospital'. They love feeding some kittens who'd been brought into the hospital.
They'd already had adventures in 'Friendship Forest' and were excited when Goldie the cat arrived at the window. They were going into the forest to help stop the evil witch Grizelda from taking over the forest.
Goldie took them into the Friendship Forest and introduced them to Mr and Mrs Tabbypaw and their cute and adventurous kitten Bella.
Bella was excited to be having a sleepover at Goldies' Grotto. Little did they know the next morning little Bella would be taken away through the Caverns by the Boggits. The smelly, dirty Boggits were doing what Grizelda wanted and causing trouble. Would Lily and Jess find a way to rescue Bella and save the forest?
This Daisy Meadows book is one of a series by several authors. I love the concept and the Map of the Friendship Forest at the front. I'm sure young readers will be flipping back to the map to see where the mischievous kitten goes.
Sevgiler: ADA SEVEN ✨
Review by an 8 year old: I thought this was a cute book. Grizelda is the villian and sometimes she looks a little too creepy. I love cats and I like that this books is about a little cat and other animals. It is easy to read.
Friends, Jess and Lily are on a new magical adventure to save the forest and some adorable kittens!
Well, obviously this book is for kids ages 5-8 but it was pretty entertaining. I read this aloud for my 6 year old daughter and she never interrupted which means she wasn’t bored.
In this story, the author takes us to a magical world called Friendship Forrest where animals can talk! Adventure takes the lead when cat Bella Tabbypaw gets kidnapped! Two young girls, Jess & Lilly, are signaled by their cat friend Goldie to go to Friendship Forrest to help Bella Tabbypaw out. Bella Tabbypaw, the main character, is my favorite because she is adventurous and always has everything you could possibly need in her backpack. Her attitude is cheerful and happy, and I think a lot of kids would enjoy her. I love that author Daisy Meadows included a map at the beginning of the book which shows the setting. I looked closely at the map before I started reading in order to see that I understood the place and could start building a background for the rest of the story. I think this is really helpful. I used to read the Rainbow Magic books a lot by this same author and was excited to see that she has a new series. Even though I’m almost 10 years old, this kind of book is still quite entertaining to read. I feel like I am on an adventure through a fantasy world when I read them. I like the excitement and tension that still thrives in these books. This book is a nice quick read and perfect to bring along in a car ride or to the beach this summer. It is about the same reading level of difficulty as the Rainbow Magic series books in terms of vocabulary and following the plot of the story. I think girls from 1st grade would like it. I would give this book 5 stars. I hope Daisy Meadows writes a lot more books in this series, and I also hope that some of them are long ones! Reviewed by Summer H., age 9, Tampa Bay Mensa
