Ugh, this book gave me the creeps! Like, that stalker is a disgusting human being and I wanted to punch his stupid face everytime his POV turns up.

I could never imagine the discomfort and dread of someone who's being stalked and preyed upon. Natalie is a very relatable character and I symphatized with her ordeal, I wanted her to survive the nightmare and I needed a bloody end to this awful awful man who thinks that he can actually own a person's life and mold it into a sick fantas with him as a main character.

Kudos to the author for writing such a villain who would definitely make you imagine a thousand spiders crawling all over your body. Ew. Just. Ugh.

**** 4 YOU CAN'T HIDE FROM CREEPY STARS ****

 photo every_zpsif9a7odk.jpg

Natalie is beautiful, young, PR rep living what seems to be a normal life. Her life is anything but normal with the past filled with tragedy and a man that will do anything he can to have her.

Natalie's life started off with the death of her parents when she was a baby. Put into the care of her loving grandparents didn't last long. When she was 10 their deaths lead her to live with her jealous, abusive uncle and aunt. Under their roof, Natalie was verbally and physically abused. To escape her life, she filled her life with school. That was her saving grace in life. Having no friends, one boy, Joey befriended her. She accepted his friendship with in-trepidation. As the years passed, what she saw as friends between the two turned into complete obsession for Joey.

As the years passed, Natalie moved on to an elite college leaving Joey behind. This did not sit well with Joey. His obsession went into overdrive leading him to attack Natalie and stab to death her boyfriend. Joey is admitted to a mental hospital and Natalie is left to pick up her life and find some form of normal.

Moving past this horrible tragedy, Natalie moved on and finished out college and put her past as far behind her as she could.

Now a striving PR rep for a hotel, life is good. She is getting the things out of life she worked so hard for. Always pushing men away, as she could not trust their motives, she meets Jason. Leary at the beginning, she gave him a chance, which proved to be a great move. Their relationship is cute and Jason is amazing with Natalie. Things moved right along, they are engaged and life is amazing, what more could a couple in love want.

But hiding in the darkness always watching is Joey.
 photo eyes_zps2b4bcnbh.jpg

Joey has his own plans of what is to come for Natalie and Jason is not part of his plans. It is time to live these plans out and Joey repeats the past and attacks Jason, leaving him for dead. Natalie is abducted and taken to her new life with Joey. The events of her captivity really make this story GOOD. Joey is crazy and the love he feels for Natalie is beyond the realms of what is right!

As Natalie fights to get away, she also must fight to save not only her life, but a life she must hide from Joey, until she realizes that life will be her answer to saving herself.

I have to say, the first half of this book was just ok for me. I know it was character build up and for the readers to understand everything that had happened in Natalie's life. But the second half of this book....REALLY GOOD!! I loved it. The author did an amazing job of really not giving away what would happen.

4 creepy look over your shoulder stars!

This book was different from my normal 'darker' reads. Although it was dark in a psycho thriller way there was none of my beloved "Stockholm Syndrome because the captor is ridiculously HOT and irrisitable"....
This was one of those books that built anticipation and curiosity for a while then BAM 'it' happens and I was left squeezing my eyes in horror and holding my breathe praying for a good ending.
I really enjoyed watching Natalie and Jason fall in love.....
I really loved the way the author threw in the 3rd person making me question what was real.
I really, really loved Natalie's fight and determination to escape the horror she was forced into.
It is hard to say much wo giving it away but I was definitely out of breath by the end and I will def watch my surroundings much closer now!

LOVED this book, I've enjoyed all of Bianca Sloane's, but this one is the best so far. Her stories get better and better as she goes along. Bravo !! I have the novella addition to this book downloaded ready and I see she's got a new release out so that's terrific news. I keep meaning to mention too that I do like her habit of naming her books after 80s toons.
I did smile to myself this book as opposed to getting aggravated by her still describing everybodys' colour...."the smooth planes of her olive skin,""luminous hot-chocolate complexion," "Her milk-chocolate skin," "Soft toffee skin".....I wish she'd read one of my reviews sometime and let me know why she does it-I'd be interested to know. As a white person, we come in different "shades" as well but I never notice anybody much keep referring to it.
I spotted she lost the apostrophes in ladies room & McDonalds then added one in DVD's where it wasn't required. She also used extract where I believe exact should've been, then at one point Kate's trying to figure out how to rig an electronic door which was peculiar as we'd heard nobody talk about one till then !! We had wearily used instead of warily (I think) and I was totally baffled to hear one character's husband referred to near the end....twice. I even flicked back to see if I'd missed that somehow....and I hadn't overlooked a mention. Odd or careless.
I can't say too much about the story itself as I refuse to put any spoilers in a review but suffice to say it has real twists and turns and you aren't sure who the person stalking Kate is throughout most of it....oh, it's him.....shock horror, or is it that one or him over there ? Very cleverly all put together. Another thing this enquiring mind would like to know is what gave her the nudge to take her book in a differing direction to what she'd originally imagined. She mentions it at the end in her acknowledgements. I looked at the website she refers to but couldn't find anything obvious.
If you like a good old contemporary murder mystery I'd recommend you give this author a go.

Every Breath You Take certainly took my breath away! I started this book last night before I went to bed and I finished it today as I simply had to know how it ended.

Natalie Scott is in her late twenties, with a good job, close friends and now she's met the perfect man in Jason. The first half of the book concentrates on the story of how they meet and fall in love. You could almost be lulled into a false sense of security and think that you were reading an everyday chick-lit story (sorry chick-lit fans, no offence intended) until Joey Green arrives on the scene and things take a dramatic turn.

Joey has known Natalie since school when they were both classed as social outcasts so naturally they were drawn to each other, but when Natalie leaves for college she realises that there's a whole world out there just waiting for her and she doesn't need Joey anymore. The only problem with that is that Joey has a psychological disorder and he won't take no for an answer. He follows her everywhere, taking pictures, making notes and even threatens any man who looks like they are getting close to her.

In his mind no-one will ever know or love Natalie like he does and nothing is going to stop them from being together.

The second half of this book is dark and disturbing but it will have you chewing your fingernails down to the quick. The author has a deftness for building suspense and tension, leaving you wondering what's coming next. It's hard to write too much more about it without giving the plot away, but what I will say is that if you like your psychological thrillers dark, they don't come much darker than this!

Thought Provoking, Dark & Intriguing

“Every Breath You Take” is the story of Natalie. She has endured many losses as well as successes in her life. She refuses to become involved in another relationship for fear of losing out again. She meets Jason one night and everything changes. But what she fails to realize is her past is hiding in the shadows waiting to exact revenge, waiting to claim what he feels rightly belongs to him. Waiting and watching...

Bianca Sloane’s story had me up and reading until early the next morning. She has written a very thought provoking and serious novel. It deals with some deep issues including rape, kidnapping, sex, murder, and so much more. I found myself really intrigued. I was feeling all Natalie went through. There were parts where I wanted to cry and others where I wanted to scream! Very well written. My one and only complaint was the ending. It left me with some unanswered questions. Overall a great read!

I got this book for free on my kindle unlimited subscription. I thought it would be some kind of romantic saviour type story. BOY WAS I WRONG!! This book was exceptionally written!! The story kept me on the edge of my seat all throughout. The story reads flawlessly from past to present. The author has done a brilliant job with the time jumps as usually they tend to get very confusing. All three main characters were beautifully portrayed. The one thing that I didn't like was the cover of the book. I'd advice the author to get a better cover artist next time. Like I said, on the first glance I judged the book by its cover (pun intended) and was slight put off. But overall, this was a great story. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves psychological thrillers.

5 ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT STARS!!
Hats off the author! This book was exceptionally written, the author has such a way with her words. The characters she has created in this story are so SO fantastic!! Oh my god my mind is still reeling! This book is a must read for anyone who likes a good psychological thriller. It delves into a very dark subject matter and takes the readers on a nerve wracking journey through both the eyes of the victim and a madman. Kudos to the author. I'll be reading more of her books for sure!

Every Breath You Take by Bianca Sloane

Sondra's sister (Tracy) went jogging one night and never returned. Her body was found a week later a mugging gone bad. A year or so later Sondra still has her sister on her mind. Things just don't seem right. She decides to do some digging of her own. Soon she begins to discover the truth and her life may be in danger.

The plot is very good, fast paced with a lot of twists, turns and surprises. Sondra is very likable, she is an independent and determined woman. Just when I thought I had it figured out, a new twist occurred that had me thinking "I didn't see this coming". Overall I really enjoyed Live and Let Die and highly recommend to those who love a great psychological-thriller/suspense.

I'm on a mission to read Bianca Sloane's bibliography. I first read Killing Me Softly and was hooked immediately. With only one novella to go, I have to state this is my least favorite book. This book definitely needs trigger warnings as the second half of the book gets very dark, graphic, and tortuous. It was very difficult to get through, and the ending wasn't worth all the protagonist endured. I started listening to the author's podcast, Dark Side of Love to try to understand the graphic nature of the second half of the book.

Another one of those interesting books about using mindfulness and breathing which work hand in hand with meditation. By practicing mindfulness you gain so many benefits in life, inner peace within, self confidence, self esteem, less stress.

This was a new author for me. The plot twists and turns and somewhat non-linear narrative made this a really good read. The one shortcoming, to me, is there are some parts that provide a bit more detail than necessary. I will definitely read her other books.

I downloaded a sample of this book as I was in the mood for a Psychological thriller and this one popped up in one of my many book promotion emails. After reading the first chapter I just had to continue to the next, and the next until the Sample came to an end and I rushed onto the Amazon site to buy the full book.

This is one of those books that occupied my mind twenty four hours a day. When I wasn’t reading it, I thought about reading it. I usually have more than one book on the go. I left all the others to read this one and finished it within two days.

The story follows the life of Natalie, a quiet, careful, single young woman in her late twenties. Natalie lives with the scars of an event that occurred when she was in college, and the after effects of this event reverberates in everything she does. In a way she has moved on. She has a successful career, good friends, the possibility of future love. But, what Natalie doesn’t know might kill her.

What I liked about the book
There are heaps of things I liked about this book. The author is highly skilled in the art of creating suspense, and the book had me on the edge of my seat many many times. Natalie is a thoroughly likeable character. She is not perfect, either in looks or personality. She has hang-ups, she has acne scars, she has a sad past. She is real. She’s the kind of girl you could see yourself being friends with, which makes what happens to her so much more disturbing.
The book is written in short chapters from mainly two POV’s – that of Natalie and that of her stalker. The stalker literally gave me the creeps. This is a guy you will do well to steer clear of. There is nothing redeeming about him. The inner workings of his mind are so deluded, so disgusting, so utterly (for lack of a better word) NUTS! I cringed when I read his thoughts. People sometimes have this romantic view about being stalked. Some might even think of it as flattering. After you’ve read this book, you will never think along those lines again.

I liked that the book took me by surprise. It was raw in its emotion, brutal in its story telling and it spared no punches.

What I didn’t enjoy that much
I wouldn’t change anything about this book. It is perfect as is – perfectly creepy.

Final thoughts
Every Breath You Take is a skilfully written Psychological Thriller. It’s one of those books that will stay with you long after you’ve finished reading it. This was the first book I’ve read from this author, but I now count myself as a fan.

Please note: This book contains scenes that might upset sensitive readers. Violence and rape themes are explored.

STAR RATING: A mind blowing 5 Stars

I look forward to new Bianca Sloane novels for a lot of reasons, but mostly it is her incredible ability to create plot twists that the reader never expects.

"Every Breath You Take" is a perfect title for this book. The author has not only shown us what it is like to be stalked, tortured and desperate, but has given us a more in-depth look at the world of serious psychiatric disorders and the darker side of obsession.

The main character in this story has been through a lot, and yet remains strong and even likeable all the way through the book. I could easily identify with her desire to be free of burdens from the past and want to start anew, and I found my own emotions following that of the character through each event in the book.

I was particularly impressed with the dynamic between kidnapper and kidnapped. Watching the main character gain understanding of her captor and how to use his own desires against him was interesting and kept me on edge.

Once you start reading this book, you won't want to stop. I found it hard to put this novel down and do much of anything else. This story is quickly paced, intelligent and has the kind of characters that it is easy to love (and hate.)

If you are looking for a good book to take you away from everything, this is one you can get lost in.

This review is based on a complimentary copy from the author in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

This book starts with a prologue which tells us that someone has been kidnapped and held against their will for a long time, which means that when it starts with a girl meeting a man whom she later describes as "a bit weird" we cannot be sure that he is as good as he appears to be. We know that someone is stalking Natalie but we don't know who. The author cleverly keeps us waiting and wondering, can one of the men around Natalie be such a good actor as to hide all signs of his obsession? There are many clues to Natalie's past but nothing can prepare us for what eventually emerges. She really has been through the mill and has suffered time and again to the point that she is now reluctant to embark on relationships. The author leads us on a journey of tension right to the end of the book. She builds the relationships between her characters carefully and describes them well.

If a good book is one you can't stop thinking about, then this is a great book, because I couldn't get it out of my mind. Whenever I wasn't reading it, I was thinking about it. I felt totally involved in it and was willing Natalie to find a way out of her desperate situation, I was also hoping that when she did get out of there, she would be able to live a postive and fulfilling life despite the tragedies she was facing. Its pervasiveness made sleep elusive and entered into my dreams It really does draw a reader in and holds all of the attention until the very end.

I won this advanced reader's copy in a Goodreads giveaway. I was encouraged to write an honest review. It took me nearly a month to finish Every Breath You Take, mostly because I didn't want to finish it. I did put it down to read another book and then picked this back up because of my review obligation.
It's billed as a suspense thriller but I felt neither suspenseful nor thrilled. I feel like many things were told to me here but that I experienced none of it. The characters are flat and under developed. There was no diving deep into their personalities to get me invested it their lives. I just didn't care about any of the 3 main players because I wasn't given the chance to know them. I just felt everything was shallow and uninteresting. What managed to get my attention was the far fetched unbelievable parts. I doubted so much of the story that I shouldn't have been suprised at the completely unbelievable ending.
It could be that the problems with this book are just in my tastes. So, I'm passing this book along to a Goodreads friend who will also read and honestly review. I hope she has a better experience.

I read Live And Let Die on my Kindle a couple of months ago and swore never to read another book from this author though I'm very glad I went against my own judgement this time and bought Every Breath You Take. However I'm still unsure what the title means.

I was apprehensive that this would be yet another typical kidnapping thriller. I was gladly mistaken. Each chapter goes from Nat's past where she is in an all-consuming, co-dependent relationship with obsessive Joey and her present where she meets Jason, the man she is going to marry. But Joey was been released from a psychiatric facility three years ago and has spent the past few years obsessing over, acting as if he is over, and planning to abduct- Nat.

The clever ending where Nat manages to escape is a new one for me and very well thought out. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed Room, Gone Girl, How I Lost You, Still Missing, The Good Girl or Daughter. The ingenious ending will make this lengthy (it 'feels' rather longer than it needs to be) 300+ thriller well worth it.

I've never read anything by Bianca Sloane, so I wasn't sure what to expect going into this novel, which I won on a Goodreads giveaway. It was gripping from page 1, and very fast-paced. The characters were realistic and multi-dimensional and the setting of Chicago was a perfect location.

A few scenes were a bit more vulgar than I expected, but the antagonist really might act that way. Aside from that, there were a few punctuation/syntax errors, but I enjoyed the novel and will definitely read more by Sloane. If I had to compare her writing to another author's, I'd pick Chevy Stevens due to the parallel of the strong female lead fighting for her life.

One woman, one stalker and one ideal man. When Natalie Scott finally lowers her defences and let's a man get close to her she cannot believe how well suited she is to Jason but things take an unexpected turn leaving Natalie living an absolute nightmare.

I always look forward to reading Bianca Sloane as her books deliver and are far from predictable whilst totally engrossing you in the predicament of her characters. Every Breath, is no different and will haunt you long after you've finished reading it.

This one is dark and disturbing but so well-written that I couldn't stop reading. It's one of those books that will have you so on edge that you get irritated with life for interrupting your reading time. The suspense is so well done that even when things were going well, I had to keep reading, just knowing something bad was coming. If you can handle reading about rape, this one will keep you up well past bedtime, biting your nails.
