Turns out this is the second in a series, and I haven't read #1. Oh well, we'll see how I like it first.
Also turns out it is a short story, but a good read. Medical examiner Reagan is at her brother's wedding when the bride disappears. Reagan's ex-boyfriend policeman and her friend Evan, the bride's brother, aren't being very helpful with all their posturing. After two deaths, one apparently a total stranger who wasn't even invited to the wedding, Reagan determines to find out what's going on, whether the police want her to or not. Her obnoxious mother is no help either. There is a lot packed into about 80 pages, several twists, and a surprise (to me, at least!) ending.
