Claimed by the Alphas

Rate this book
From New York Times Bestselling Author, Viola Rivard For Mila Foster, the idea of becoming an alpha wolf’s mate is so tantalizing that she is willing to leave her human life behind to join a pack and become a breeding mate. The handsome and sensual Asch is more than she could have ever hoped for, and Mila is beyond ready to surrender herself to him—until she finds out that her new pack has a second alpha, the dominant and primitive Caim. Caim’s wolf lurks very close to the surface. He likes the lean and taut females of his own kind, women who can handle the aggressive mating he enjoys. He has no interest in Mila, that is, until he gets his hands on her lush curves. Claimed by the Alphas is Book #1 in the Shifters of Appalachia series. It is a complete, 350 page book. All heat, no cliffhangers!

I've enjoyed this series I read the first book back in April last year but decided to wait for two reasons, one I hate the wait between serial books and prefer to read them all together and secondly while these books were relatively reasonably priced at 99p each I felt it was still expensive overall so I waited and since I've just started my kindle unlimited 30 day trial I've taken full advantage.
Book one:
Mila Foster finds herself about to become a mate to the alpha of the Lazarus pack, Mila volunteered for this position and is excited and a little frightened at what her future holds. The Lazarus pack needs her because their females are unable to bear children and their alpha Asch desperately wants a mate and a family.
Mila is impressed with Asch, he's handsome and everything she could have hoped for, this could turn out to be a good decision after all...until Mila finds out that the Lazarus pack actually has two alphas and Cain the other alpha is nothing like Asch at all and he's not impressed with the thought of a human mate.
Book two:
Having discovered the Lazarus pack actually has two alphas which is why the pack's so strong Mila then discovers they'll fight for the death to mate her if necessary she decides there must be an easier way and wonders if it's possible for both of them to mate with her, while this idea is a good one it comes with a certain amount of problems after all this is two very powerful alphas we're dealing with.
Book three:
Mila, Asch and Caim have all agreed to share but it's not running smoothly, Mila feels like she's caught in the middle while the other two argue it out and she's had enough.
While she's fed up with her men she's also struggling to settle and feels lonely at times, did she have any idea what she was taking on?
Mila needs to find away for them all to get along and quickly because the mating thrall is only days away.
While Asch is wonderful and everything a woman could want I love Caim, not only is he handsome, strong and all that but he's also stubborn and cute and when examples of his grievances are listed all followed by "I am not willing to negotiate on this" I could just hug him.
Book four:
As the thrall approaches Mila knows she needs to talk with Asch and Caim since she doesn't just want to be a broodmare pregnant all the time, they need to sit down and calmly discuss their hopes and expectations, but the thrall is affecting the alphas strongly and Mila finds she herself is not immune to its pull.
What will happen afterwards? will they still want her or will they go back to their old favourites, what happens if she becomes pregnant? and what happens if she doesn't?
Book five:
The thrall is over and the wait to see if Mila is pregnant begins, Mila is not sure where she stands she knows she enjoyed her time sequestered away with the alphas but what happens now, her insecurity isn't helped by Asch's departure, how will her and Caim get on without Asch as their buffer.
Caim makes a rash decision which could affect the whole pack and Mila is struggling to find her place within the pack and she's not thrilled about Lotus and Sable who were Caim's favourites before her arrival.
I really enjoyed this book and while I noticed a few typos it wasn't enough to spoil it for me. The more I read of this series the more I love Caim.
Book six:
In this book Caim decides to move the pack but Asch puts his foot down regarding Mila and they travel by car knowing there's no way it's safe to drag a pregnant human over the mountains in winter. Life settles down in the new den and Mila prepares for the birth of her pup, yes pup she's only having one which gives her the extra worry about which mate will be left upset.
Book seven:
While this is the end of this series it's not quite the last we'll see of Mila, Asch and Caim since they also have 'Christmas with the Alphas'
Mila is a mother and on top of the usual new mother worries she also has to contend with Dawn shifting into wolf form she also knows her thrall is approaching and she's not sure she's ready to have another baby so soon. Caim is turning into a wonderful father and she knows Asch is desperate for a child of his own but Mila also worries that they don't actually care for her as she wants.
Talon is back much to the annoyance of Asch and Caim but Mila likes him and sees him as a friend, someone she can confide in.

I read this series when it came out in parts. At the time it was enjoyable and when this came out as a set I bought it and got it on audio too. Unfortunately what mainly brought it down for me was the narrator. He tried to do female voices and it just didnt work. Just not a great job at doing the different voices and have them be commanding when needed etc. I think its sometimes easier for females to do the different voices and even more talent to do gravely male voices. Not everyone can pull it off though. I dont read many books with male narrators but sometimes you get someone good and some that dont quite deliver and this was one of them. I think you really have to research and find good narrators. No major offense to this guy but it didnt work for me at all.

On another note I liked the story and the world building was excellent! After re-reading I did find I didnt like it as well as before. I think thats mainly because of the 3 leads. Caim, Mila, and Asch. There was some chemistry obviously but its hard to buy them as a menage because the feelings just werent there. I mean Mila stuck close with them because she was comfortable with them and sought a certain comfort and security with Caim and Asch. She complained quite a bit because this life she chose didnt live up to what she thought from a book she read. It was too hard for her to grasp human vs. wolves and she kept trying to put them in human and they just werent. They had their moments but it was never gonna happen. I just felt they had her for breeding and initially that was true but I thought they would come to love her but I just wasnt feeling it. I think Asch loved the idea of spoiling his mate more than anything and spending time with her. Caim he needed love in the worst way and I honestly think Mila loved him but he didnt reciprocate in the ways of human. He cared in his way but honestly he just isnt capable of love like others are..even wolves. If that makes sense to you. I loved the characters individually but it was hard for me to buy into their relationship with one another. I dont think Mila was capable of truly loving Asch the way he wanted. She cared for sure but being in love? Noway.

I've read enough of these types of serials to realize something in the story always suffers. In this case its the relationship between the 3 main characters. No emotional connections and no real love that I felt. Not a focal point. Everything was put into the world building and other parts of the story and characters. Unfortunately the love story part fell apart for me.

5 stars for the world-building!!
But as a (menage) romance I'm not really convinced. The h seemed to be making the best of her life with the H's really, than being crazy about them, H1 seemed nice and not particular - I felt he'd be affectionate to any human he mated and the other H, well he and the h were strangers even at the end of bk 7 weren't they? All it'd take was some stress and I felt their so-called mating bond would crack, the only thing holding them together being the children.
If the h were infertile, both the H's would have disposed of her like yesterday's trash and honestly thats not what I want to feel after reading a romance. I understand the h didn't feel like she fit anywhere else, so I'm glad she found a place that valued her, if only as a broodmare, but it all seemed very transactional to me.
Overall 3.5 stars.

MFM book. Honestly, this book (really, a bundle of short novellas/parts) was very well written, with the author providing refreshingly honest POVs for the heroine and the two alpha heroes. Her character work was excellent.

I love when authors go the extra mile to give their characters real personalities and quirks. And the book had humor as well. For instance...in one of the males (Caim) POV we get this funny tidbit while he's lounging contentedly with Mila (the heroine) and their daughter (Dawn):

He sat in the grassy field with Dawn in his lap and Mila by his side. As usual, Mila was talking about something unimportant, but he did not let it disturb his peace. Caim had long since accepted that his mate would never understand the value of silence, so instead, he had learned how to tune her out. Sometimes, he enjoyed the things that she had to say. She had a strange way of thinking that had always amused Caim, and she was one of the few people who possessed the ability to make him laugh. Today, however, he was not interested in anything but his daughter.

....

Recognizing a shift in Mila’s tone of voice, he tuned back in to catch the tail end of her one-sided conversation. “…but then again, I never really liked ecology. Oh, Dawn, look, there’s another one.”

While this book leans towards erotica more than actual plot - hence only the three stars - I wish I could take some of the authors' character-writing and transplant it into other books.

This was a pretty quick and steamy set. There isn’t a lot to say that hasn’t already been hinted at in the description but I loved the author’s ability to write quite unique shifters. I loved the amount of shifting that took place and the overall plot. I’m m huge in MMf and while this one has less of that aspect but tons of steam, I think the author did great at balancing it out. 4 stars #2OCCJD

Good read

Over all this is a good book. It could drag on at times putting way to much into some parts and not enough in others. There are a few grammatical errors but well worth the read.

!

This is a well written nice story. It's more honest about the probable awkwardness of relationships in general and the complications of different people.

****Recieved this copy from the Author for an honest Review .****
** Review Previously posted on Amazon.**

I, like alot of youread this Beautifully writtenbook as a serial when it originally came out.It was pure torture having to wait until the next installment.I am so Happy that Claimed(originally 6 books) was put into a complete Edition along with Mated (1 book )the continuation of the series as a 7 book boxset.

The story follows Asch an Alpha male in the Lazarus wolf pack.He wants a family of his own to love and to ensure a strong viril wolf pack for the future.
The only way that can happen is if he takes a human mate because werewolf females are not fertile.
Caim is also a Dominantalpha male in the Lazarus pack and Asch is like a brother to him.He knows Asch yearns to start a family and has a deep understanding of human emotions unlike himself. Caimis more at ease asa loner in his wolf form far away from any humans and their civilization, but once Asch's mate resides within their denwill these wolf brothers fight for her to the death.
Mila is a strong willed ,yet self defaming human, whoenters a lottery and volunteers herself to join the Lazarus Pack as a "BABYMAKER". She knows it would entail living amongst and getting along with the members of a functioning wolf pack, mating with the alpha, bearing and raising their children and hopefully gaining more friends then enemies.
All three of them soon realize their in for more than they bargained for ...Whetherit's a good thing ... or Bad!!
You'll have to read it for yourself and get addicted to the pages of this mezmerizing book.
I love the fact that from page one you fall in love so easily with these charactors. You want to be Mila's best friend and help shelter her from the differences of the pack and their feelings about her.
I almost cried reading Mated to the alpha's.When Mila felt she had no connection to her Pup.
I almost died!!
I found myself routing for Aschand mila's relationship from the beginning , because he's so sweetand understanding and makes her feel warm and welcomed.
(Caim somehow manages to steal my heart though!)
You want Caim to finally admit his true feelings for Mila , even though he has his own emotional baggage. He somehow needs to get through and always seems to come off as the jerk that makes her breakdown crying.
The one thing you know throughout this book is that they would all die to protect the ones they love eventhe many trifulling pack mates.
I'd have to say without giving anything away book #4 has to be my Favorite. Those mating Thrall scenes were down and dirtyto the core, and i don't like picking favorites.
The whole story is Jam packed full of action,Adventure,Heart-Stopping ,Raw emotion and Drool-worthy, Animalisticlove scenes.
I can't wait for more of this series inthe future.
You might also want to check out these other serials that interlink with Claimes & Mated.
They are,
Bound to the Alpha's (Cain,Sarah)
Running with the Alpha's (Taylor, Alder,Hale)
Enjoy!!!!

I picked up part one in a free week and bought the rest of the series together as I was intrigued. I would say it's not worth buying each section individually and I would recommend the packaging of "part one", two, etc needs changing as part one in particular is more an introduction or short story than a real big chunk of fiction. If you're going to read the whole thing, just by the complete edition.

Disregarding format, I was disappointed to find as the story went on, the characters did not develop. The two alphas remained easy going and unmoving in their own right and neither paid much attention to the protagonist's feelings throughout. This is what stopped the ending from being satisfying to me as a reader.

Having said that, what really annoyed me about the protagonist (Mila) was that she kept having problems with what was happening in the narrative and almost brought them up but then it never happened - other characters bustled her inside before she could speak or sex got in the way, etc. This just isn't realistic. Mila has been shown to be unreliable and spontaneous but when deep-seated fears about sex and pregnancy pop up, women don't just jump into bed anyway! There needs to be more conflict between her and the men in her life, rather than just between the men and a flimsy effort of annoyance on her behalf.

In a similar vein, I also felt in places the two alphas - Caim especially - were too pushy towards Mila, to the extent where her, by nature (her being human and them being werewolves), more submissive position became uncomfortably helpless and unchangeable.

There are good parts to the book. The sex scenes are well described and steamy, smoking off the page, in fact, and the main characters are portrayed with faults but still as appealing people - mostly. I also felt the environment and culture of the mini society was well thought out and worked well but with little over-arching plot, I needed more depth and flesh to the characters to make this read truly satisfying.

I was given this bundle for an honest review by the author.

i have to say that despite the fact the story was intresting it was also a lil boring at times.
I love the way viola writes and there were parts that i simply couldn't put it down!
Mila decides to become mate of the Alphas of the pack and leave the human world
but she doesn't know what that exactly means.
Having to do with 2 Alphas and the whole pack is more difficult that she thought.
Can she handle the 2 Alphas?
Can the two Alphas share her?
Can they find happiness?
This series has it all...laughter,tears,frustration,hot sex scenes and 2 very Alpha males.

I absolutely loved this series! It has its ups and downs but overall it was great. There's so many parts I liked, the females fighting, and the birth's of the babies! OMG! I thought it was really funny when Mila was getting her back rubbed from a contraction and the she-wolf thought she broke her!!! I laughed!!! I've read this series three times and could read them again. I've read more of this author's books of this kind also and loved them. I hope that she continues with this series of books, I would love to read more of them!!!

Best alpha wolf/human book I have read

While my background in these types of books is limited, this is by far the best. The previous books I have read were basically erotica with a thin storyline. It could be because this is a complete novel. It is a series of short stories combined to tell a full story. Yes, there is erotica. We also get how everyone came together and how their relationships changed and grew, as well as their expectations grew too.
If you are into these types stories, definitely read this one, but read it all.

I absolutly loved everything about, Claimed by the Alphas!!! I honestly can not think of any part of the book I didn't like. The story was well written. The characters were all engaging with distinct personalities that added much flavor to the whole plot. I am so glad I found this book on Goodreads.

Thank you Viola Rivard for bringing me out of my world, and into yours. This was truly a fun journey!!

The best so far...

Out of most of the romances I've read this one was the best. It had a perfect blend of romance, sex, and story. A great, steamy story that wasn't just smut on a page.
