Can an improbable alliance between human and drakkon save their world from utter destruction?
Princess Bryn Silva never wanted the crown this way.
With her parents dead and Esan’s military devastated, she’s thrust onto a throne she once wanted, but is utterly unprepared to fill.
Worse still, her husband, Damon—heir to the throne of Zephrine—has vanished, leaving her to face the storm alone.
As the gilded riders, hungry to claim Arleeon’s fertile lands as their own, rain death and destruction from their armored birds, the greatest threat to both Bryn and Esan might come from the one man who should be their staunchest ally.
Because Aric Velez—Damon’s father—has returned, and plans to use her inexperience to claim the throne and become the ultimate ruler over all Arleeon. And he doesn’t care what he has to do to see his ambitions realized.
As the losses mount, the race to find a means of defeating their foes becomes ever more desperate. But can the drakkon kin ever hope to win a war when they are so outnumbered?
Or will Bryn be forced to face an impossible choice: sacrifice everything she loves, or watch her kingdom burn.

This final book in the Drakkon Kin trilogy was full of danger, battles, heartache, teamwork, and finding a fitting partner, both with a drakkon and with a mate. Bryn has lost most of her family, and her husband has disappeared when she really needs him. Esan is under attack and her husband’s father is plotting to claim Esan’s throne. There is so much going on, and it was hard to put the book down to do things I needed to do, like go to bed, because it was just one exciting event after another. I loved the ending, I think things were resolved very well and I feel like everyone ended up happy, except those that didn't deserve to be. So yay for another wonderful series by one of my top favorite authors.
This trilogy is one of the best by Keri Arthur. The very end felt a little but rushed but I was still happy with how everything was tied together. You get a little bit of everything here drama, heart ache, mini surprise twists, a little romance but above all action. There are some markers in the plot that let you know that you are reading a Keri Arthur's novel but this was such a refreshing read. I am glad to see Keri do something a little different. It was nice not to have the main character fighting her attraction between 2 men and instead have a worthy partner. I'm scared of heights but this book made me want a dragon and fire power of my own. Highly recommend!
Loved the series! Couldn't wait to read the next book each time. It's just the ending of the last book felt a bit rushed, as there could have been at least a couple more chapters expanding on the Epilogue. Either way, I really enjoyed the characters, their struggles and their growth.
Great combination of some of my favorite fantasy series but with a new twist! I have enjoyed a lot of Carrie Arthur's books but this series is by far my favorite of hers. You can't go wrong with An epic adventure that includes some snarky dragons and some romance that does not take away from the plot.
An epic fantasy full of political intrigue, war, and impossible choices. Princess Bryn Silva must navigate a devastated kingdom, vanishing allies, and a ruthless power grab while facing a deadly war alongside human and drakkon forces. High-stakes, action-packed, and emotionally charged—perfect for fans of epic fantasy and strong heroines.
I loved every page of this story. I love Kaia, the queen dragon. She's such a fantastic character. Fantastic story and Keri hits the nail on the head once again with another fantastic trilogy.
