~Best read after the original Ava Delaney series~ The backdrop may be grim, but Dublin city has become the centre of change. And as the humans and supernaturals figure out how to live in each other’s worlds, the person who forced that change has quietly stepped aside for a peaceful life. Ava Delaney is still trying to adjust to her own altered existence when a tainted nephal turns up on her doorstep, apparently on the run from the monster who changed Ava’s life before she was even born. But she’s not supposed to interfere, even for the lost souls she’s vowed to help. But as the first vampire leaves death in his wake, and Ava becomes an easy target to blame, she realises she has to take care of business once again. There are more secrets hidden in the shadows, more voices just waiting to be heard, and obedience has never been Ava’s thing. Only one thing is for for people like Ava Delaney, there’s no such thing as a peaceful life.

I think this series is going to be better than the other. This one feels more personal, more connected and emotional. I’m sure it’s because of the work the last series did, but I’m just more invested in Ava finally getting her well deserved peace.

I have always loved the Ava Delaney series, even thou the series ended a new chapter begin with Ava as the new matriarch...Ava secretly pledged 100 years, to a secret organisation, who appeared to control everything on the planet, the matriarch (Ava) is one of the 11 who keep the balance of existence...Ava have a new task and is to help lost souls and obey the rules of the organization which kinda get in her way..Her 1st lost soul came knocking on the door, a teenage girl name Jessica, scare, cover part in blood and injured man, who happened to be Jessica father..Ava and Jess have something in common, they are both Tainted, both Ava and Jess mothers were bitten by the 1st vampire name Seth..Seth is hunting Jess and killing anybody who get in his way, he call himself the father of both Ava and Jess...I really did like the plot but I felt there were something missing, I didn't feel the anxiety like I did with "Ava Delaney series", I hope that the next book of "Ava Delaney: Lost Souls series", is more nerve wracking...But I still recommend this book and happy to have read that Ava is back :-)

Another action packed book!

The things I liked:

The characters are really coming to life! And even though there are so many names and characters now, each has their own distinct personality and it is so easy to visualise them and fall in love with / hate them.

We're getting to know more about our favourite characters; their past, their present, their powers or lack of, their personality and emotions.

So any things are still left to explore! So much more to learn! I am hooked and I must read on!

I really do love the occasional humour / sarcasm.

The things I struggled with:

Sometimes the dialogue just got too much. I sometimes lost track of who was saying what because of what I'm calling "ping pong" dialogue (it doesn't say who is talking every time).

So many characters and names! I've had to keep a note of each character mentioned and who they are in a diary, just to remember who is who.

At times, Ava is still consumed in self pity and can appear to be too whiny (which is funny, because she told off.a few people for being just that).

So Ava's first Lost Soul has come and gone, she was kind of a pain in the ass but then again she was just a teenager so her attitude was understandable. I thought with Seth being the first vampire that he would be scarier, even deadiler but he was basically a regular ole vampire. Nothing scary nor deadly about him.

I felt bad for Ava, it seems like she lost all her favorite kids in one shot, no thanks to Phoenix and while I understand he wants to get to know his children, I hate that men like him and Peter treat Ava like a queen when they need her but then like a bad rash when they get what they want and all of a sudden she's to dangerous to be around their children..that sucks because she's a good person who genuinely cares about her friends. At least Peter is trying to change, its super funny watching him get shot down by Ava over and over again...dork.

Destroying The First Vampire

I gave this book a rating of 5 because I loved it. I loved how Ava had willpower to stand up against an enemy who brings fear and doubt into her. Ava never gave up on her first lost soul. She even stood up to the eleven. I recommend this book to anyone that loves anything supernatural.

Sequel series

After rwading the original Ava Delaney series, this book felt like a bit of a let-down.
She's grown into her role, but it feels a bit forced, as though the author is trying too hard to create so e inner turmoil where there shouldn't be any.
I'll read the next two, ever hopeful that the standard returns to the excellence that we visible in the original.

Great continuation

I thoroughly enjoyed the original series and this does a good job continuing it. I don’t like the broken relationships, but it clears the party for other adventures. I think the ending is a little too simple and some of the fight scenes seem a little far fetched. But still rollicking you’d fun

I was so happy to find out that Traitor wasn't the last we would read about Ava and the cul de sac! Tainted started right where Traitor left off with a girl showing up at Ava's door covered in blood. Be warned, he rest contains SPOILERS!!!

I waited a long time after first reading about Seth (the first vampire, Ava&Jess' "father") for him to actually show up as a major part of the story...and I was a little disappointed. Not with him as a character really but more that *****SPOILER*****
they were able to kill him so easily. I was hoping he would at least live to see the next book! That being said I really did love Tainted. It's worth reading all of the previous Ava Delaney books first too!!!

Ava is back and I get on song

Ava is back with most of her old friends and a couple of new ones Seth comes out into the open and it all gets fast and furious. The characters in this series seem to be at a bit of a standstill. The question of Ava's changing relationships with Peter and Phoenix are hinted at, but remain undeveloped. And Ava's relationship with the Ten, a theme worth exploring in depth, basically just get lip service. I guess the pressure of a best selling series pushes authors to issue new volumes more quickly. That said, I am looking forward to Ava's next adventure.

This was a book that I could not put down. I was hooked right from the start. Of course it has the fast pace that I enjoy as well as feisty characters and a female protagonist. There is also humour to balance the action scenes, and a selection of supernatural beings to sink your teeth into. I'm really routing for Ava and will continue to the next book.

Ava finds herself face to face with another tainted nephlem and her first soul to help in the first book in the new series. All the favorites that didn't perish are also along for the road as she finally meets the first vampire. Claire Farrell seamlessly ties all the books together without missing a beat.
