Sian Claiborne is not a happy camper. Just when she was getting into the groove of high school hijinks, her parents decides to pick up stakes. Now the popular cheerleader is off to the ritz and glamor of the Hollywood Hills, where her new school is home to the offspring of Hollywood's elite. Determined to hold her own, she befriends one of the school's outcast on her first day, thus drawing a line in the sand between her and the ever popular 'Mean Girls'. Little does she care, until she claps eyes on Jace Saunders and almost loses her pompoms. Of course the head cheerleader already has her eyes among other things set on Jace and lets Sian know in no uncertain terms that he's off limits. What's a girl to do when the first guy to make her heart go pitter patter seems to already be taken?
This is the first book in the Eden High series by Jordan Silver. I put off reading this series because I’m not a fan of high school or college love which is also why it took me so long to read Talon’s Heart. I should’ve known after reading Talon that this wouldn’t be your ordinary high school drama. Jace Saunders is 17 years old and the star quarterback of Eden High’s football team. He is also the heir to a massive fortune and his family is the most powerful one in town. He’s also a kind and down to earth person because his parents raised him with values and integrity. Sian Claiborne is 16 years old and her dad has just been promoted so they’re leaving their small town and moving to an upscale neighborhood outside of Hollywood. She’s upset to leave her friends and start over new somewhere else. She was a cheerleader and very popular at her old school but how will she fit in at Eden High ? Her older brother Jared is excited because he lives and breathes football and Eden High has an excellent team. Her first day of school she meets Belle who has always been seen as an outcast along with her bestie, Tammy because neither of them are a size two. Sian immediately likes Belle and Tammy and even though she’ll be trying out for the cheerleading squad she isn’t impressed by the mean girls on the team. Mandy Taylor has been the queen of Eden High since she started there and she isn’t gonna let some hick steal her place. Jace dated Mandy for a little while even though everyone warned him against it but he broke things off during the summer and has no intention of getting back with her. Jace sees Sian and he instantly wants her but he waits to make sure she’s not like the other fake girls at school. When he sees that Sian has befriended Belle, Tammy, and Cassandra he knows she’s different. Jace goes to Sian’s parents first to ask permission to date their daughter and they are both impressed by his maturity. Pretty soon Jace and Sian are the new hot couple at Eden High and Mandy is green with jealousy. Mandy isn’t your ordinary teenage girl, she’s a manipulative, blackmailing viper who has a little black book filled with names of powerful men, most of whom are married that she’s screwed and extorted money from. Mandy was poor until her mom landed a much older rich man and she will do whatever it takes to make sure she’s never poor again. She set her sights on Jace because he can keep her in the lavish lifestyle she thinks she deserves. She’s delusional and believes if she can get Sian out of the picture then Jace will come back to her. Jace proposes to Sian and puts a huge rock on her finger and Mandy still doesn’t get the hint. How far will Mandy go to get rid of Sian ?
I really just couldn't keep reading. Not sure whether it's the her character.. or how she's thinking.. or how she's talking to her dad.. or basically the whole thing.
this book is weird and not in a good way. we get it its supposed to be cliche and thats why i couldn't wait to read it after i read the plot but OMG HE LITERALLY FALLS IN LOVE WITH HER AT FIRST SIGHT!!!! and he does stuff like ask her parents permission to go out with her before they have a CONVERSATION. like ew. then he decides to kiss her without permission and finally the part that REALLLY FUCKIN IRKS ME is the fact that she starts to compare his actions for her to his actions for his ex (queen bee of the school) then he tells her and i quote "your gonna have to trust me before you fuck this shit up" like EXCUSE ME? BACK UP WHAT?. they don't even have a build up or chemistry. he demands what he wants and not in a hot alpha male way but in a dick personality type of way. he's not being an ass before he falls in with her then starts to reveal his real side.no he's literally just an ass and a bit annoying and clingy tbh. she's no heroine that i like either she literally listens to his every word no arguments no complaints no fight in her and its disgusting. I WILL NEVER FORGET HOW SHE WALKED IN WEARING A CROP TOP AND LOW RIDER JEANS AND HE DEMANDED HER TO PUT ON HIS JERSEY! and guess what? she listened without a word of argument even though she wore the sexy outfit just for him. overall this book was bad. jaces every action is a turn off and she's just a war dog ready to roll over on his every command
Because I was on the longest holiday I've taken in 10 years I downloaded a load of books after asking for recommendations. My best friend and daughter pointed out this author to me and told me to start with the lady boss/mouth series- mouth, la principessa, lady boss and I was hooked to the point I didn't put my iPad down the second I started reading the series in the airport and it made the plane journey go fast.
This series was the third one I read on the plane after the Lyon one and I loved it. I'm not a fan of high school romance but this is so unique I found myself looking for others. I'm now a Jordan silver addict and have told my daughter and best friend to keep me updated for new releases and will be recommending her books to everyone
People People People. There is no words to explain the awesomeness of this book. This is coming from someone who read all 6 books in one sitting. It is a series but luckily for us all 6 books are out. The bad part for us is that we are still left on a cliffhanger as there will be a second part to this series. BUt DAMN I cant explain how good this book is. I have been in a huge book funk. I don't remember much how I came across this series but I am happy that I did. THANK YOU!!! I loved every single character!
This was like episodes of 90210... On crack! Geez, the drama!
I read all 6 books of the first series within 24-hrs, but don't judge me.. They were really short and it really pulled me in. I haven't read any of the second series yet. Don't know if I will as I don't even think it's complete.
Even though it is set in high school, it has plenty on sex. Not recommended for young readers.
Great start to a series although I'm so impatient it's killing me to not know what happens next. The first installment was mainly an introduction to the characters and I really liked them all.
No. Just no. Heroine was a self- centered, self-absorbed, stuck up bitch. Basically, all characters have a pov. Too many pov's. Jared didn't even bother to protect his sister. Practically invited a guy he knew all of 3 hours to date his sister. Why? Because said guy is good at football. Jace is an asshole. Don't see the significance of adding Belle and Tammy's povs. The next book (I just peeked at the contents) has like 5 povs. It feels like the main life goal of all these people is to rule high school, who to date and football and cheer-leading and who to snub. Read the blurbs of the other books too, nothing but stupid high school drama with way too shallow characters who do stupid and dangerous things just to date someone (like start a fire to kill your ex's girlfriend) and way too many povs. Just annoying. I usually finish a series once i've started it, but for the first time, I just can't bear to continue. Do Not Read!!
I didn't make enough notes as I read, but she has no idea when to use these words correctly. And I didn't check how many times further and farther were used correctly, but I'm not so good at that myself. However, if I were an author, I'd definitely have a proofreader EDIT THAT SHIT.
High school in Hollywood. Sian is a transplant along with her older brother Jared. They have their first day of school at Eden High where she meets and instantly dislikes the mean girls. She also see's Jace, the quarterback and oh my do they both fall hard and fast. This was a quick, fun read introducing most of the major players in the Eden High Universe. Interesting plot, great characters and good writing. I love this series by Jordan Silver!
DNF. Just couldn't do it! Too many POV. Needs to be edited much more carefully! (Liz is both blonde and has black hair, and both blue eyes and brown. Tammy is a size 12 and not.) Too much info on family life of each character- boring! Quotation marks used incorrectly, commas MIA, and periods often skipped.
First season is ok. It was good because of the serious drama of Sian's fatal attack. Jace and Sian are a couple I could understand and relate too even though Sian is annoying and bratty in some areas.
I was annoyed how worried he is about pregnancy and keeps requesting for her to go on birth control but yet still continues to cum in her. I'm assuming in next season she will be pregnant.

Sucked right in from the very beginning! Not even stopping. Starting right on book two. I hope no one expects dinner tonight. Eh. They are old enough to take care of themselves. Loving Eden High!!!!
I struggled with the first few chapters and then it got a lot better. Good NA series with drama and angst. FYI. There is Series 1. Books 1-6 And also series 2 Books 1-5. Thus far.
I’m going to put this out there... I loved this series!... It’s a bit...okay a lot...over-the-top glamorous high school romance, with a bit of everything in it.
This book is an introduction to Sian and Jace and their friends and family, that highlights their backgrounds, their nature, and the first strings of a beginning between Jace and Sian. They both see each other and instantly attracted to each other, but there are your typical mean girls’ clique, a cynical and sarcastic redhead friend, a shy introvert, and a young girl that needs protecting, all against a bunch of jocks, who know what they want and to get it, and these men want their women!
I love a multiple character book. The book essentially is about Jace and Sian, but there are plots from the other that add so much drama and story into it just being a typical high school romance. Sian is the new kid at school. She is spoiled in the sweetest way possible, a typical daddy’s girl and high maintenance too, a cheerleader too, but her character is super sweet, always looking out for the underdog and not afraid to stand up to anyone to protect her family and friends.
She quickly makes friends with the ‘outcasts’ of the school and attracts the attention of Jace Saunders, the coveted athlete and richest and most popular guy in the group, that manages to anger a lot of people, due to the shift in power that has happened. Suddenly the underdogs and the ‘outcasts’ are the new coveted people. Jace is the golden boy, the top dog at his school, a man that everyone wants to be or be with. To top if off, he is the heir to perhaps the city and Hollywood, used to getting his way and just one look at Sian and his future is clear to him. She. Is. His.
“She wasn’t hot she was fucking scorching. One look and I knew.”
Terrible! So terrible, I can't even freakin' rate it.
So terrible, I can't even make it past page 14 (16% on my kindle since these books are a mini- series.)
- the editing is atrocious. Look, I've read books that have had grammar issues before. Heck, even my own review will have some. ( in fact, most books have a minimum of about 2 grammar issues. But I've also seen some from well know authors that have had 5-10 per book, and I can deal with that.)
This book however, literally every other paragraph has an editing issue. And it's so bad I can't even tell wtf the authors trying to say.
For example: "my eyes lit up as I searched for the loot. I didn't see a bag or anything and thought he was pulling one over on me again, as he was wont to do on occasion."
Huh? As he was wont to do on occasion? I'm guessing the author meant: as he was KNOWN to do on occasion? But who the heck knows?
In just the 14 pages I read alone, there were lots of errors like these. (And lots of 'by' instead 'my.' Etc.)
Another problem I have within the 14 pages...The heroine's "inner monologue." Good lord; she is disgustingly self absorbed (I mean most 16 years old are...but this is horrible.) and seriously talk about conceited. All she's does is go on and on about how good looking she is.
I'll cut my losses...but I for one, really don't know or understand all the great reviews. I'm just really bummed because I was excited to read this series based on all the good reviews, but clearly; it just wasn't my cup of tea.
Loved It!!! I'm normally not big on writing reviews because I feel like I can never do the author justice for the heart and soul that they've put in to their work. But for Mama Butterfly I will try. I love everything that she writes especially this one. I can already tell that this is going to be a great series that I will wait impatiently for each installment. I love that this story is building to something great, with such a great back story. I can't wait to see how Jace makes his claim on Sian, and how Sian will put Mandy in here place. Definitely will recommend this book and series to all looking for great read!!
So I usually stay away from NA but this is JORDAN SILVER and yes that's all there is to say... I loved the character build up and pace of where things were headed, I just wished it went a bit farther... I knew it was a series but I found myself so engrossed in the story that it abruptly came to an end and I was yelling at my kindle in the middle of my sons football practice! Hahaha all in all this was a goodread and I sooooooo should of waiting till it was all out! Now I'm stuck feeling like a crac head looking at the calendar willing for the 12th of October to arrive grrrrrrrrrrh :/
