The blood farm is gone. Those behind it have either died, been caught, or are on the run. Time to return to the real world.
Only normal life isn't quite what Tessa expected. Good thing, because there is no 'normal' anymore. She's different. Her family is different. Her friends are different. The world around her is different. Trying to find her place is not easy. She wants nothing more than to be a normal teenager and join Cody and his friends on a Friday night out.
Cody wants the trouble to be over so he can get back to living the life he used to with one major addition – Tessa.
Only Ian and Jewel aren't healing well, Rhia is acting out of character, and Jared keeps tripping over dead bodies. Then there's David, who'll do anything to help Jewel… even something he knows he shouldn't do.
Something is wrong, and once again it's up to Tessa to figure out what is happening under the surface of this 'normal' life.

Ok first off let me say I love cliffhangers!! I normally give a (slightly crazy) laugh when I come to a cliffhanger!! But I have to say Dale Mayer's cliffhangers elicit a groan, a growl, a slightly crazy laugh and a serious WTH moment lol but in a good way!! I love The Family Blood Ties series, when each new book is released I snap it up like the long lost friend it is. I think Tessa is seriously one badass vampire and Cody is one sexy, sweet, supportive mate!!! I have mad love for every character in this series, well all the good ones.... I can name them all too, but this review would be way longer, lets just agree that all of the characters from Tessa, Cody, David, ect are amazing!!! And Vampire In Conflict does not disappoint, it is a awesome book that is just as action packed as the last. I don't know how Dale does it (maybe magic) or maybe she's a superhero who's skill is to write a book that is better then the last, each and every time. All her books stand out. I thought Vampire In Defiance was going to be my favorite book in this series. But now even as I try to choose this one, I realize I can not because they all are that awesome!! It would be like picking your favorite child, it's just not possible because they are equally awesome in there own unique way, that's how Dale Mayer's books make you feel!! I can not wait until the next book comes out and I want to throw a mini temper tantrum knowing I have to wait for the next one!! (Yes I'm Impatient) I highly recommend this book and it is worth way more then the five stars I have chosen.
This novel consisted of people running around trying to find/help each other. There was no plot, just a bunch of scenes linked together. Therefore 2 stars.
After the collapse of Moltere's Mountain destroying the blood farm, there was brief celebration before ambulances take both vampires and humans to their respective hospitals. Among those, vampires Ian and Jewel and Tessa's humans friends Catherine and Jill.
For Tessa, her family and friends, the duties vary, the ancients and council members have much work to do to prevent any rebuild. Plus there is the fact we know their are other blood farms.
Tessa returns to the human school, although with many doubts running through her head. Cody speaks up in her mind and makes her smile, even before she sees Jared. With no sign of her friends at school and no one at home at Catherine's house, Tessa heads to the human hospital. She's sitting with Catherine when she's hit from behind.
Cody is with his father and Tessa's parents when that pain brings him to his knees letting him know something is wrong with Tessa.
From Tessa being attacked at the hospital, to Jared tripping over bodies and overhearing conversations, this book takes us on another journey into relationships, fear, chaos, and of course plenty of action.
Now I have to start the next one, the bundles are a great way to read these books!
There is no such thing as a normal life for these vamps anymore. It’s amazing how deep the deceit goes and I am on the edge of my seat wondering who the vamps and humans can trust. Apparently no one... Definitely read this series. I promise it will only disappoint if you like Twilight vampires more than Dracula.
This story gets better and better. I love the relationship between Cody and Tessa. I love the entire plot. I can’t wait to see what happens next. I love no matter what obstacle they go through they’re always together. Love it love it love it
This book is yet another continuation in a series that I believe are some truly awesome books and this one continues to tell the story from where the characters left of in the the last book a critical read.
Each book in this series is like popcorn - you can't stop eating it. Good writer, nice dilemma in the story which keeps you reading. If you don't like cliffhangers don't start on them.
I WAS GIVEN THIS BOOK FOR AN HONEST REVIEW AND THIS IS MY HONEST OPINION.. DALE MAYER HAS GOT A SERIES YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS HERE.... In the last book it end with Tessa having to kill someone they though would be on their side, but he wasn't and she was sorry.Goran had to face a horrible secret they found in the mountain blood farm, he set out to destroy all of it , the mountain shook and they knew they had to get out. Goran had lost it and wasn't going to go, finally Cody grabbed Tessa and he and Goran tried to fly out, then rocks were falling on them and separated Cody and Tessa burying them. Now in this one starts with a rescue can they find Tessa and Cody under all the rocks? Will they be alive or hurt or dead? A safe place is found so the injured can heal and all can eat after days, but it is not really safe and hides even more of Goran's discovery that will be found in a couple of rooms, they destroy it too again back to trying to get out but another way. Which again leads to a new problem when they get separated (every time they do someone from one or both teams get into trouble). Serus will find he has to face almost the same thing as Goran did just his son is 100 years younger. Trails they face more Tessa discovers what she can really do, surprising everyone, till you begin to see the shy quite girl become a strong, decisive woman. Slowly as she is right and can tell more then the others what really happened, she starts beginning deferred to and even Goran and Serus (the elders or the ancients),even some of the human soldiers. Tessa talks the soldiers into helping take the captured and insured out with brother David, and 3 friends, there by dividing the team, again. So the rest continue to search, but later the soldiers, then Seth, disappear. Leaving Tessa and her father Serus and Cody and his father Goran till they have to separate, then Tessa is separated from her father when he is taken. But with Tessa luck and skills she finds a group she can trust and begins freeing them, then they keep find her friends and others. Sending all but three who would not leave her out with the sick and weak. Her new group goes looking for the rest, her father, Goran and Cody, on their way to Cody,Goran and the found Seth. The mountain begins to shake and fall in (they don't know why) worse the maze tunnel they where in let to a cliff,Goran and Cody (as flyers)and Seth had already flew off the cliff when Tessa got there and none of her group were flyers. She and her father were jumpers, but with three others, then the cliff gives, they grabbed who they could and fell. I can't wait for the next book to see who makes it? Who is involved ? Who brought the mountain down? Why? Did They stop the blood farm? How many of the groups they send out made it?
Now that the mess on Moltere's Mountain is over, it doesn't mean that the war is over. Jared has found two dead people at his half way house and found both his Uncle and Aunt dead. Is someone going after those Humans that were involved with the blood farm to keep them silent? Ian and Jewel aren't waking up from their issue even though they should have. But with Ian missing in the Vampire hospital, is Jewel in danger too? What about Motre and his buddies, they were at the Vampire hospital as well. Has the Vampire hospital been taken over by those same people running the blood farm? Tessa gets attacked at the Human hospital and they don't know by who, but whoever it was threw her down a flight of stairs and left her there to die, or did they? Cody wants to be there for Tessa and protect her but her mother Rhia does not like this relationship that has formed between her daughter and the player Vampire Cody. I personally love seeing their relationship grow to what it has in the first six books of the Family Blood Ties Series. No Human or Vampire is safe and both sides need to suck it up and work together to fix this mess that has become of each of their people. Lots of twists and turns in this book. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. I am glad that the Moltere's Mountain storyline has ended and the after the fact storyline has been very intriguing.
They saved the day, stopped the blood farm, got the bad guys and everyone should be seeing Tessa in a new way. Sounds good but is it really true. Yes they saved the day, but they only stopped one blood farm, found some of the bad guys and now everyone wants to put Tessa back in the shadows where she was before. I love this series, everything just keeps getting better and as new things start to happen you are drawn back into the chaos. Tessa, Cody, Jewel,David, Ian, Wendy, Jared and the ancients are such great characters. They work well together and know how to get things done. Others outside their group still want to see the younger ones as children and don't quite get why the ancients defer to Tessa. Lots of twist and turns, drama, intrigue and I still can't figure out who all the bad guys really are and some of the good guys are starting to act weird. I don't want this series to end but I really want to know what happens next. Ms. Mayer leaves us with another cliffhanger that makes you want to laugh, yell and throw things. Any book that brings your emotions to the point of violence is definitely worth the read.
Vampire in Conflict by Dale Mayer Family Blood Ties Book Six Tessa expected life to be different. But she was still the not quite vampire, not quite human daughter. Not vampire enough for Council matters. Not human enough to be a hero at her school for saving them.
Jared’s first day back to school started a bit better, but the next day...let’s just say if someone died, he seemed to be the one to find them.
Cody just wants time with Tessa, wants her in the vampire world so he can protect her. Never did he realize the difference of her being able to go out in the sunlight while he couldn’t until now.
And all of this was only the beginning. Ian and Jewel are still in the hospital along with many other vamps and things don’t seem quite right there. And then it all breaks loose and the kids see they aren’t going to get any breaks soon. The war is far from over. As with most books in this series, it ends on a cliffhanger. Love this series, cliffhangers and all. http://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com/...
Yea!!! We are finally out of the mountain but things still are not easy for anyone. No one knows who the bad guys are except for of course the bad guys. No one trusts anyone and people are still disappearing or being held against their will. Basically, just another day in the life of being a vampire.
Nothing is simple, cut and dry, cookie cutter with this series, except for the fact that every gets kidnapped, held hostage, hurt at least once per book...esp poor Ian and Jewel. They have the worst luck that I've seen. Even Tessa doesn't have it as bad as them most times.
Can not wait to read book 7. This is a long series and I am getting to the point where I hope Dale hurries up and gets to the end point as well. You can only drag a story on for so long and this has about reached its limit for me.
This must be read in order and can not be read as a stand alone.
I liked the change of setting back to the town and the various places in it. All of these places sound like they should be safe and secure, but they aren't. They never know when or where they will run into trouble now and it heightens the suspense.
Tessa is trying to figure out what world she belongs in. As if being a 16 year old girl wasn't enough she's having to deal with choosing between her human friends and her vampire family and boyfriend. Jared and Cody have both grown through the ordeal as well. Towards the end of the story I started to wonder how much more any of these kids could take...
The story is unique and unpredictable. The characters are well-developed and still growing. Yet another great read in the Family Blood Ties series.
I received this book as an ARC from Dale Mayer. I had read the first 5 in about 2 weeks before this one came in and was really looking forward to it. My wait was rewarded. Dale Mayer has done it again; written an excellent story with a continuation of the rich characters and great action from the first 5 books in the series. I recommend this to anyone but if you haven't read the rest of the series, buy them all, you won't regret it.
I am enjoying this series overall, however I do find myself sometimes frustrated with Tessa and her actions. Just when I get so frustrated with the juvenile behavior and attitude the book picks up and the action gets good. I would like to see Dale allow time for Tessa to explore her abilities more and give her and Cody a chance to explore their relationship more. It is one fight after another and the characters tend to lose substance.
I absolutely love this series... I am hooked on Tessa, Cody, Ian, Wendy, David & Jewel. The Ancients are great. Now I have to wait to see what happened to Serius. Keep up the wonderful work. I am hooked. I love this series. Wonderful author no matter what genre she writes. Thank you for a great book.
With the blood farm destroyed, things should have gone back to normal. Like normal nothing changed. The humans are threatening to destroy the vampires and Tessa's friends and family are in trouble. Plus her friend Jared has come across four dead bodies in one day. All humans. Can they solve the mystery of what's happening?
