Introvert (in-troh-vurt): Someone who is quiet, shy, and/or thoughtful. For reference, see Aurora Kent.

Seventeen-year-old Aurora Kent likes being alone. For the most part. With her fear of crowds, anxiety issues, and inexperience, she's never really left home.

Until now.

Aurora loves playing violin…and surprises everyone when she agrees to go on tour with a band for two months.

She surprises herself more by kissing a rockstar.

Felix Cordova. Mysterious, cocky, gorgeous—and strangely familiar. When Felix asks her to be his girlfriend for 10 seconds, she agrees. But Aurora never expected a video of their kiss to go viral.

Now she's in a fake relationship with the one guy who makes her heart sing.

Stuck on a bus with five hot musicians, playing sold-out shows, Aurora should be living the dream. But as fake dating leads to sharing a bunk, late-night talks, and heartfelt confessions, Aurora finds herself falling hard.

Which is a problem because, real or fake, summer romances never last—right?

This book features two opposites with the most delicious slow burn, one heart-melting grand gesture, so many soul-stirring kisses and answers the question:

What happens when a shy girl falls for a rockstar?

Idc, I love a good fake dating trope! 🤷🏽‍♀️ Super cute, mild language, no spice only kissing. Introverted FMC and rockstar MMC, forced proximity, 🤗 short and easy read.

The FMC plays the violin and is going on tour for 2 months with a popular band, but her nerves make her doubt if she's capable of going through with it. In comes the MMC who is the stand in bass player and will be on tour with her. The FMC now questions if this is a good idea, especially since her mother warns her never to fall in love with a rockstar. Easier said than done when the MMC kisses her senseless right before she even steps on the tour bus 😭

Introvert was an adorable fake dating story that you definitely need in your life!  I couldn’t stop smiling, it was so easy to fall in love, and I cried all the happy tears.  Plus the found family was everything!  Introvert was all the stars and I can’t recommend it enough!
"You seem a little tense," he said.
I barely heard him.
When I kiss girls…
Girls plural. As if I needed the reminder that I wasn't special.

Aurora was going on tour with a band for two months, and it started off with a bang!  While helping a bandmate out, by pretending to be his girlfriend, their kiss went viral.  As they shared a tour bus and performed on stage together, it was so much fun to watch everything unfold!  Especially since they were asked to keep up the pretense of their fake relationship.  With lines blurred and the unknowns of what’s real and fake, this book was so binge worthy!  I had to know what would happen next!
Taylor took a step back. "Brace yourself, Aurora."
I tilted my head. "For what?"
"Fame and everything that comes with it."
"But I'm nobody," I said with a laugh.
"If you say so."

I was so proud of Aurora!  Her introverted self took so many huge steps, even with her nerves getting the best of her at times.  It wasn’t a smooth process, but I loved cheering her on every step of the way!  From stage fright, to her first kiss, to even making a new friend with London, Aurora was someone you will adore and love!  And I wanted to push her right into Felix’s arms!
“People want something to root for."
I shook my head. "And that would be what?"
"True love," she said as if it should be obvious. "You and Felix. The shy girl and the rockstar."

Fleix captivated me so effortlessly.  He was filling in for his brother’s bandmate, who had an injury, and he fit the part so perfectly.  While he came across as bold and sure, I loved that he was also kind, thoughtful and caring.  And when we learned about his past, I just wanted to hug him.  But one of the things I loved the most about Felix was the way he could make us swoon and sigh out loud.  It was impossible not to fall in love with Felix, right along with Aurora!
The world faded until there was nothing but us.

Together, Felix and Aurora were so sweet!  Their banter was adorable, their moments together were smile inducing, and they induced butterflies!  But there were also some deeper issues for both of them to tackle, so I cried some tears on their journey.  But with grand gestures and happy endings, this book will leave you smiling!  Introvert was a famous, forced proximity, fake dating story that easily landed on my favorites list!  If you’re looking for the perfect beach read, or a story that will make you oh so happy happy, this is your book!
"How do you do that?" I asked.
"Do what?"
"Make me feel better with nothing but your voice."

PS This book can definitely be read as a standalone!  And I think Introvert is a great starting point to step into Cookie’s books.  Aurora is the daughter of a character from Adorkable, which was Cookie’s first book.  So we got to see people from other books that will make any Cookie fan oh so happy!  But if you’re wanting to pick up one of Cookie’s newer books, I can’t recommend starting here enough!  It’ll make you want to go back and binge them all!

Oh my goodness me. Another amazing book from this author! I LOVE FELIX CORDOVA! He's the epitome of "actions speak louder than words." Also, this book features Aurora Kent, the daughter of Clayton and Lillian. Aurora and Felix go through so much and still came out of it (somewhat)unscathed. Cookie never fails to deliver a wonderful can't-set-it-down read.

Fabulous YA romance between two socially awkward musicians

Aurora Kent is a 17-year-old, highly talented violinist, who typically performs with her female cousins in a professional musical group. Though extremely socially awkward and riddled with anxiety, when she’s on stage, nothing matters but the music. Performing is an ecstatic experience for her.

Through one of her cousins, Aurora is offered an opportunity to tour with the boy band, HERS, for two months during the summer before her senior year of high school. Normally, she would never consider such a leap. It’s extremely intimidating to travel on an RV with four boys. But her loving, supportive parents encourage her to seize the opportunity, especially since her cousin will be going along. When a sudden health emergency prevents her cousin from joining the tour, it’s touch and go whether Aurora can make herself board the bus. Hiding in the shadows near the parking lot, trying to be invisible, she’s startled to discover that one of the band members is standing nearby, also hiding.

Felix Cordova is temporarily filling in as HERS’s bass player, replacing a member with a wrist injury. There’s something oddly familiar about him. But before Aurora can figure out why, the press descends, and Felix urgently asks her to pretend to be his girlfriend for ten seconds. Their resulting kiss, which is Aurora’s very first, is toe-curling and unforgettable. When a video of it goes viral, the band’s publicist begs them to keep up the act for the fans.

I don’t usually enjoy rockstar romances, whether YA, New Adult, or adult, because they often feature an uncomfortable power imbalance: the MMC is a superstar, and the FMC is a nobody, basically, "King Cophetua and the Beggar Maid." I recently wrote a negative review of a NA version of this trope, Rhythm, Chord & Malykhin by Mariana Zapata. But the difference here, as in all character-driven fiction, lies in the quality of the protagonists, and Aurora and Felix are fantastic. Here’s what made this novel shine for me:

1. Sexual innocence and emotional chemistry. Both Aurora and Felix appear sexually inexperienced, though it’s never explicitly confirmed for Felix since we don’t get his POV. Their awkwardness and shared shyness make their connection feel grounded and emotionally authentic. Unlike many romances that equate steam with depth, this book shows how powerful kisses can be when they carry emotional weight. The chemistry is electric and believable, even without explicit content.

2. A delightful fake-dating plot. Fake dating can be a disaster if done poorly, but here, it truly shines. The premise is plausible, the pacing is excellent, and the tension between pretense and reality unfolds in a way that feels both fun and emotionally compelling.

3. Meaningful friendships and found family. Aurora builds a lovely friendship with London, the sister of one of the band members, and maintains her strong bonds with her cousins. Her growing connection with the other bandmates adds depth to the story. I especially appreciated the way her romance with Felix evolves from strangers to friends to love.

4. A hopeful and satisfying ending. The novel concludes with a well-earned HFN that feels entirely believable as the beginning of a lasting HEA.

5. Wholesome content. I appreciated the absence of foul language, underage drinking, drug use, or wild party scenes.

At present, Introvert is only available in ebook format, but I love it so much that I would absolutely buy the audiobook if one is ever released.

Until now, my favorite Cookie O’Gorman novel was Ninja Girl, a fabulous YA romance. I now rank Introvert as equally high in quality.

Introvert by Cookie O'Gorman follows Aurora, the violinist for the rock band HERS, as she embarks on a two-month summer tour before her senior year of high school. During this time, she falls for the temporary bassist, Felix, and they engage in a fake dating journey to promote the group and keep the fans engaged. The fake dating trope is a favorite of the author when it comes to the Kent cousins, so I always look forward to her unique approach in each story and she didn't disappoint here.

I found myself relating to Aurora, especially with her shyness, tendency to overthink, and the encouragement she receives to step out of her comfort zone. Despite being introverted and inexperienced, she takes the initiative in her relationship with Felix. Felix is smooth with his words and often attuned to Aurora's emotions. While he has a complicated family background that sometimes leads to mistakes or hesitancy in moving forward, he learns and knows the right way to treat those he loves. Their communication, particularly regarding their fears and feelings, is refreshing and realistic, showing that it shouldn't be a barrier in relationships romantic or not.

While I love the connection between Aurora and Felix, I felt that the subplot involving Ryker and London overshadowed the main romance at times, making it feel like I had to keep up with two separate storylines. Their content could be developed into a separate story of its own, which will allow for a deeper exploration of that relationship.

On the other hand, it's cool how Cookie continues to weave a connected universe, introducing new characters that link to her previous stories. Events in one book often resonate in another, making the connections more impactful. For Introvert, having read Sweetheart beforehand enhances those full-circle moments. While many might be eager for Ryker and London to have their own standalone story, I find myself hoping for Elliot, the nerdy lead singer, to take center stage in a future book. His intriguing personality and the subtle dynamic between him and Aurora were so cute and leave me wanting to see more of him.

All in all, this story captures the journey of self-discovery and the complexities of love. The overarching message about love being expressed in various ways—beyond just words—is beautifully conveyed. It serves as a reminder that actions often speak louder, making the story resonate even more.

I was so excited for another Kent cousin story and this one was so cute! I loved Aurora and Felix and it was so fun to see the band again.
I really liked Aurora. She was introverted, had some anxiety and was super relatable. It was so fun to watch her push herself out of her comfort zone. She really grew into herself across the story. Felix was such a sweetheart! He was quieter and intense. I loved how he cared about Aurora and was so thoughtful. They were honestly so cute! I loved them together and even though the fake dating trope is found over and over in these books, it was just as fun and swoony here! I loved how they were able to connect and support one another. They both connected so quickly, but over the story got to spend more time together and get to know one another.
I loved the band! It was so cool to see them again. I love all the tie-ins that Ms. O’Gorman always has. They are so vibrant and so much fun. It was really cool to get to know them more and to see each character. I would love to see more of their stories too! I loved seeing Aurora with her cousins and her parents. They have such a sweet relationship. Introvert is a YA contemporary romance with only kissing.
I received an ARC.

**I received a review copy of this book in exchange for an honest voluntary review. All opinions are my own and not influenced by my source.**

This hit all the feels as per usual! I love a rockstar romance so I was very excited for this and it did not disappoint. Cookie does a great job of always writing the swoony-est book boyfriends and Felix was no exception. He was so sweet and well rounded, even if we didn't get his POV.

Aurora was great too. I think lots of girls will find something to relate to with her. I loved that she challenged herself to do things that gave her anxiety so she can be the person she wants to be.

I adored all the side characters and I truly hope for a few side characters to get books of their own! Though I did think they sometimes distracted from Aurora and Felix's story (basically I could have read a ton of Felix and Aurora scenes -- I loved them together that much!).

If you want a fun, sweet, clean YA rockstar romance, this is a great pick for you!

Seventeen-year-old introvert Aurora Kent prefers solitude and struggles with anxiety, but everything changes when she joins a band’s two-month tour as a violinist. Unexpectedly, she shares a kiss with cocky rockstar Felix Cordova, which goes viral and sparks a fake relationship. As they travel together, their pretend romance begins to feel real, leading to late-night talks, shared bunks, and growing feelings. With a summer full of music, kisses, and emotional moments, Aurora must confront what it means to truly fall for someone—especially when it feels like opposites never last.
I loved reading INTROVERT by Cookie O’Gorman! Aurora and Felix's relationship may have started off fake, but it was real the whole time, full of slow-burn tension and genuine emotion. I love when in books the MMC falls first—and this book did exactly that, and I was giddy the whole time. Watching their bond grow through sweet moments, heartfelt conversations, and mutual care made my heart melt. And when they care for each other!! 😍😍 This story was everything I wanted in a swoony, feel-good romance.

I am always down for another Cookie O’Gorman high school romance. The chemistry is always fantastic without being spicy. I love all the intertwined stories surrounding the Kent cousins and friends. Seeing Felix be so in love with Aurora made this such a sweet read. I love a good fake dating story, but it was so clear to everyone, but Aurora, that it was never fake for Felix. Now I need Ryker and London to get their own book as well.

O’Gorman is great with clean romance that makes your heart ache. This was a fun one-sitting read for me. I liked the main characters but also enjoyed the personalities of the side characters and appreciated the friendships that develop - especially between Aurora and London.

My only criticism for this book was that I did feel like the characters were living life at a stage beyond the age they were written. My momma heart got anxious with the amount of freedom and independence these kids had.

Overall a fun read. This author is a go-to for me when I need something light and easy with a happy ending.

I have enjoyed this authors books. They are easy reads that always bring a smile to my face. I love how connected all the books are with the characters. They can stand alone but are better when you know all the characters mentioned. To really appreciate the love between Felix and Ror I think at the very least read Sweetheart first. But this book is a stand alone and it’s just my opinion. I love how cool Ror is and how she rocks her violin in a boy band. I love the vulnerability that Felix shows too. This book has the “He could have any girl in the world but he only wants you” trope. I didn’t like the drama between two side characters. They were so mean to each other! And I thought the reason for that was so unnecessary. But I guess since they had drama the lead couple could be perfectly cute and happy which is excellent. So many cute and adorable scenes that would never happen in real life but of course no one wants reality haha. That’s lame haha. If you are looking for a YA book to just fill you with butterflies

SPOILERS and book notes:
He says he is honored after giving her her first kiss. She is a violist for a band. I love how much she shows gratitude. I love humility. He calls her princess “bc that is the way he sees her”. and she doesn’t feel like she is really princess material. He held her hair back while she dry heaved in the toilet for being so nervous. She thinks he is a perfectly put together rockstar with no fears. They are in the bathroom floor for this convo: “"Maybe we should reintroduce ourselves," he said then held out a hand. "Felix Cordova. My biggest fear is messing up, onstage or off, and letting down the ones I love most. I'm no prince. But I'll hold your hair back if you need it." When he lifted his chin in challenge, I sat a little taller. "Aurora Kent," I said. "Too many fears to mention, but the top three are probably crowds, hot guys, and letting life pass me by. Waking up one day and realizing I never even tried, never went for my dreams. Not perfect or poised enough to be a princess. Just happy to be here, and hoping I don't puke onstage." Felix has panic attacks too. When she got on the stage she froze. “I opened my eyes and saw Felix standing right in front of me. "Don't think about it," he said. "Just play." Easy for him to say. "And if you need a distraction, just look at me." Felix shot me a wink as I shook my head and bit back a smile. But I ended up doing exactly what he said. Whenever it got to be too much, I'd look over at him, and it was like everything else disappeared. Playing with Felix was like breathing. Easy, effortless, and exhilarating. The best part? He was looking at me too.” He had noticed her THE WHOLE previous book! Crushing on her from afar! He had saved her and she didn’t know it was he who did it until now! You must read the previous book (sweetheart) to get this books full impact. This is totally relatable: “That's the beauty of living a mostly awkward life, I thought. You're never surprised when embarrassing things happen. You expect it. You roll with it—and if you're like me, you overthink it hours later in private.” This next quote is the truest statement of the book. I see it in my sister: “"Why are young people so stupid? Especially when it comes to love?" "I don't know." I thought about it a second then added, "Maybe it's because we're still naive enough to think we can protect ourselves from getting our hearts broken. Even though, love really is the only thing worth living for." They had THE sweetest slow dance. A creep tried to grab her at the party. And Felix beat the crap out of him. “"You grabbed my girlfriend," he said in a deadly quiet voice. "And?" the creep said. "She crushed my hand. We're even." "Not even close." I love how SAFE he makes her feel. I love what she feels about the band and London too: “They jumped into action. I would do the same for them. A hundred times over. And it was funny because I realized that I wasn't only in love with Felix. I loved them too. And if actions spoke louder than words, the feeling was mutual.” I lcoe that Aurora has such a fantastic relationship with her parents and tells them everything. He flew on a plane to get her even though he is terrified. Advice to Ror: “"Don't let fear put you in a cage," she said. "Do what feels right. Deal with the consequences later." I absolutely LOVE the love confession from Ror. It is perfect and genuine. “"I want to tell you something." "Go for it, princess." "I love you," I said. "You don't have to say it back. I just wanted you to know." At first, I thought maybe I'd said it too quietly or too rushed, but the surprised look on Felix's face said he'd heard me loud and clear. "Did you just…?" I nodded. "I know we haven't known each other long. And love is big word. But I've always thought you should tell people when you love them. I'm not sure when it happened. I don't expect anything from you, Felix. I just love you." And then his response is so genuine and beautiful too: “"You don't have to say it." "But—" "I know you love me." "You do?" I nodded, realizing with a sudden clarity, that it was true. He hadn't told me. But he had shown me in so many ways. "I have a question," I said. "Did your dad ever hold your mom's hair back when she was sick?" "I don't think so," he said. "He always left when one of us was sick." "When she was nervous, did he check on her to make sure she was okay?" He shook his head. "Would he punch a creep in a bar for touching her?" Felix stayed silent. His eyes filled with understanding. "Would he get on a plane and fly—even if it made him physically ill—just to see her again?" "Princess…" he said. "You showed me in so many ways," I said as a tear fell from my cheek, my feelings bubbling over because he loved me. It was there in his eyes. It was in every move he'd made until this point. "I know, Felix. You don't have to tell me." Felix brushed the next tear away with his thumb, a small smile playing at the corners of his lips. "I'll say it eventually," he said. "And when I do, it's going to be amazing." "Oh really?" "Yeah, you should prepare yourself." "Will I cry?" "Probably." "Okay, I'll have the tissues ready." "You do that." He smiled at me in wonder. "I love you," I repeated. "Okay, now you're just showing off." "I—" I love that London made them friendship bracelets with their friend couples name Lorora. Then Felix said I love you and played I wanna be Yours by arctic monkeys on the stage for her. Boys are such simple creatures haha. All it requires is to smile and make eye contact! Haha “Felix: I'll save all my flirting for you. Me: Me too—though I'm awkward and not that good at it. Felix: Seriously? You smile and I feel flirted with.” I love that he caught her smiling huge at the texts he sends her.

INTROVERT is a sweet, swoony read with fake dating, forced proximity, and found family being some of the main tropes. I absolutely love the fake dating trope and Cookie O’Gorman does it so well. Every story by Cookie O’Gorman absolutely DELIVERS! By the end of the story you’ll be feeling like you’re part of the family with the characters. I absolutely loved the chemistry between Aurora and Felix! This story follows Aurora as she joins the band HERS on tour as their violinist. There she meets Felix and they instantly click. The chemistry between them was palpable through the pages. Aurora's relationships with all the other members of the band were also so cute to watch and see them all grow closer. I would recommend this story to anything looking for a great rom-com read!

This. was. so. sweet. I can't.
But half of the book i was like, yeah good Felix is being cute. Love that for Aurora. Now give me some London and Ryker plssss. Let them be happy together already!
Love my Kent girls, I want for them to actually take Gigi on her offer, they could be an amazing wedding band. I wish the epilog had the Kent uncles meet and grit the new boyfriend, that would have been so fun. I can imagine though.
Also Arctic Monkeys reference? yep yep and yep sign me in.
Was this the smartest book I read? or were the plotwists super carzy? not really, it was predictable, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Still adorkable and The good girl's guide will be my all time favorites from Cookie, but she always writes so fun.

הספרים האהובים עליי של הסופרת הזו הם עדיין adorkable ו-the good girl's guide to being bad אין מה לעשות זה יהיה לנצח אייקוני. אבל חמוד ספר על סיבוב הופעות עם להקה, קליל לא איזה דרמה מוגזמת. כשרוצים לנקות את הראש בלי לחשוב יותר מדי.

The characters in this narrative are well-developed, though a few could use more exploration. Aurora, the female protagonist, is a standout character who embodies the struggles and triumphs of those dealing with shyness and anxiety. Her journey shows that even reserved individuals can achieve great things through hard work, determination, humor, talent, and kindness, making her relatable and inspiring to many readers. Felix, the humorous male counterpart, is a rockstar whose charm and antics keep readers engaged. His unpredictable nature adds excitement, especially in his pursuit of Aurora. Their dynamic is filled with light-hearted and poignant moments, showcasing their chemistry and balanced personalities. The supporting cast, including the band members, touring staff, and Aurora's family, enriches the story by creating a lively and realistic environment. Their presence adds depth and humor, enhancing the reader's experience and providing a sense of community.

The depiction of touring scenes, from cramped bus rides to electrifying stages, is well-executed, immersing readers in the rock-and-roll lifestyle. However, more everyday scenes could have deepened character connections and development, especially for Ryker, Felix's brother, and enriched the romantic plotline. The writing is accessible, humorous, and engaging, weaving themes of love, friendship, and self-discovery. However, the romance between Felix and Aurora leans towards insta-love rather than a gradual progression, which could have been developed more organically.

The subplot involving London and Ryker, while enjoyable, occasionally overshadowed the central romance, creating a disconnect from Aurora and Felix's journey. A slower build-up of their relationship could have enhanced the emotional impact and made their union feel more earned. Overall, the book is an entertaining and funny read, offering themes of overcoming fears, the power of friendship and music, and self-discovery. It encourages reflection on aspirations and the importance of supportive individuals, making it a worthwhile addition to any reading list.

This was great fun!

A fake dating YA story featuring a quiet violin player and a rock star.

I loved watching the relationship develop between Felix and Aurora. I loved the little twist in how they actually met.

I really loved Aurora. She was the perfect mix of shy and quiet confidence. My only complaint is that I wish she'd been older. Having her be 17 made some of the situations feel a bit concerning at times, hence 4 stars instead of 5.

I loved the glimpse of Clayton Kent as a dad. I love all of the brothers and need a series of books about all them.

Cameos of characters from other books are always fun, and it was fun to get glimpses of some of them in this.

I'll read this again for sure!

Thanks to the author for an advanced copy of Introvert! All opinions are mine.

Swoon, great sweet romance 😍

I’m a fan of Cookie O’Gorman’s books 🤩. I have read all of her novels and they are always some of my favorite reads. The Introvert did not disappoint 😀. I loved The Introvert, Felix and Aurora’s story was wonderful, it had lots of laughs and plenty of swoon-worthy moments. Felix was wonderful and made you wish for a real-life Felix. HERS was awesome as always and left you with plenty of stomach aches from laughing so hard. I hope Felix’s brother Ryker gets his happily ever after. As always Cookie O’ Gorman, thank you again for a wonderful book that left me laughing, crying, smiling, and sighing. I can’t wait for another 🥹.

This is the fourth Kent Cousins romance (not an official series, but they read like one), and I've enjoyed all of them so far (Dare and Viola's book is still my fave, but don't tell Dare that - it will go to his head).

I enjoyed this installment. Aurora and Felix have nice chemistry together, and it was fun seeing HERS again. I love Ryker and Santino (hoping they get books, especially Ryker. He and London have unfinished business!). It's a fun story, pretty light-hearted, though Felix and Aurora both have some personal things they're dealing with, which gave the story some depth.

My most favorite thing about the Kent Cousins books is that they are second-generation love stories, and I love how connected they are to the original books: Adorkable (Sally and Becks FOREVER), Ninja Girl, and The Good Girl's Guide to Being Bad. Love all of these characters, and I'm so glad Ms. O'Gorman has continued their stories.

Loved the Story

Really enjoyed reading Introvert. Wonderful dialogue between the main characters. The side characters are fun and great to see characters from previous books.

Once again, Cookie has knocked it out of the park. I LOVE her books. It has just the right balance of romance and real life. A beautiful pallet cleanser/breath of fresh air.

Another super cute romance from O'Gorman. Aurora and Felix were adorable together. I need a Ryker/London book now!

Love it! Love !

Well written! The characters were relatable, humorous and real. I could visualize each word written, like a movie in my mind.

this author 👌

Another great story from this author with overlapping characters in this series. So darn cute with a bit of edge. Her books are insta reads for me. The tension is well placed with lovable characters you’ve come to know from previous books. And just enough kissing.

AHHHHH still screaming abt the ending of this book. SO. GOOD. I LOVEDD the “found family band trope.” I love how Aurora became more confident, comfortable, and flexible at the end. The other we band members were so funny and silly <3 lol. Santino’s sleep cuddling is so cute lol. Felix’s grand gesture at the end AH- (I also love Arctic Monkeys so ✨) perfect
