Gideon’s worst night ever starts out with a bang that will change his whole life.

Gideon Wells has been cast out of his bear shifter clan for being a curse, and he’s inclined to believe they’re right. After all, everything from fertility rates to shifting abilities have gone down the tube since he was born. Then when his car catches fire and mutant scorpions—he thinks they’re mutants, anyway—almost get him, he’s more certain than ever that he’s bad news.

Not that he’s just going to roll over and die.

Ignoring a prophecy might not be wise, but coyote shifter Miller Hudson has seen and heard too many false prophecies to put any faith in the one proclaiming him to be the alpha and, along with a mystery bear mate, the saviour of the now-defunct coyote den he grew up in. Besides, there’s no need for the den to be brought back together. None of them can shift, so what’s the point?

Then the buzzards circling overhead on the far edge of his property lead him to the very last thing he ever expected to find.

Reader Advisory: This book contains references to and threats of assault and rape, scenes of fisting and mild BDSM.

A few things about me...

I am a married mom of four who spends most of the day writing, either on stories or at the blog. I love to write as much as I love to read. I am generally quiet and laid back, choosing to let things slide off me rather than stick and irritate me.

And it's really hard trying to think of descriptives for myself, so I'll just let y'all e-mail me or comment at the blog if there's something specific you'd like to know, and spare you from reading a boring bio:D

This book was a delightful surprise!

Gideon was a big, burly bear shifter, who was much more of a teddy bear than a scary bear. Miller was a small coyote shifter descendent who was ALL top, and they fit together perfectly.

Gideon was put down pretty much his whole life, until finally, he was banished from his own clan, thought to be bad luck. He makes it to Texas before his car catches fire, and Miller finds him on his property.

I loved both of these guys, and there was some very hot sex in here too, including a pretty hot fisting scene, for those interested in that kinda thing.

My first Bailey Bradford book, this definitely won't be my last.

Only my second book by this author, and I liked it a bit more than I did the last one. Here we have a more submissive, brawny, slightly overweight Bear shifter & a short, stocky, but totally toppy Coyote-descendant. I LOVED that the typical trope was inverted...and that the sex was hot, dirty and messy.

Plus, you know, , which is the actual reason I read this. Gotta love Pushing Boundaries challenges, eh?

Not sure what was up with those scorpions though...

This has a lot of good things going for it:

- major size difference (12+ inches)
- small bossy top
- clear communication
- “Honey”
- Frotting
- Size difference + body positioning making sense
- Sad Boy TM
- Not instalove
- Nipple play
- Rimming
- Assurance from one MC that you don’t have to have anal to have “real sex”
- Felching
- Safe wording (by dominant partner)
- Research and training for fisting instead of just shoving it up there with no prep, spur of the moment

There were, however, a few things that kept this from being perfect:

- mom’s oversharing… honesty you don’t need to tel them about your sex life or talk about theirs
- Everything about Dick… that shit was OTT, especially at the end and not at all necessary to make this enjoyable - less is more
- too much fretting about a car that never amounted to anything
- and why exactly are shifters losing the ability to shift?

Well, this is different. Although the prophesy thing was a little awkward. I didn’t feel like it was used correctly.. or maybe explained correctly?

For me.. I LIKE the typical mm setup of Large dominant personality with smaller(ish) more submissive type personality. Ok not quite but Big guy in the drivers seat, basically. This is NOT like that. Not that it was necessarily bad. Although Miller was not your typical small top guy. He came across as a tad flowery with the Honey talk at times. Really what it is, is that I didn’t feel like he was an Alpha, no matter what size he is. THAT is the real issue.

The resolution was frankly, not a mystery. Nothing unexpected.. enough said for spoilers.

Something is going wrong within the shifter world and nobody understands why. New babies are being born human with no shifting capabilities and there is real fear that as a race they are dying out.

Gideon Wells is considered cursed within his Bear clan and is kicked out in the hope that things will improve. They don’t improve for Gideon! He has nowhere to go, no one to turn to and as he is making his escape his car bursts into flames and he has to face his fear of scorpions. He runs, he walks and he gets sunburned as he is faced with being stranded in the middle of Texas without a soul in sight. He eventually collapses from exhaustion.

Miller Hudson is a Coyote that has never been able to shift into his animal form. Although the old members of his den are still close and help each other out there isn’t one person amongst them who can shift. Miller is their Alpha in everything but name, having never taken on the roll officially for fear of failing.

When he finds a sunburned and dehydrated Gideon collapsed on his property he takes him home to nurse him back to health. Although things happen quite quickly between the two men there was obvious chemistry between them from the start.

As well as learning about each other they will have to deal with a prophecy, vandalism and a problematic police officer. Miller also has to work hard to get Gideon to believe his worth after being used and abused for most of his life. This was an interesting beginning to a new series. I hope we get to read Romans story soon.

Do you know that feeling? The one where it's Christmas, your birthday, and you just got your dream job and a giant pay hike? That's how I felt when I heard about Bailey Bradford's new series, 'Coyote's Call'. In case you haven't heard, for some strange and obscure reason, like you've been stranded on a desert island for the past year, I love shifters. I really love Bailey's shifters. They're always smoking hot men, with strong personalities, struggling with difficulties, and doing a damn fine job of it. 'Off Course' contains just such men, and is a great beginning story for a new series.

Gideon captured me from the moment he took off running, screaming like a girl, from a couple of scorpions. He's a big bear shifter with a little extra padding around the middle, who doesn't like pain, and he's really adorable when he's whimpering about it. He's a bottom, and he tends to fall for men who end up hurting him. In a complete opposites attract, Miller is a coyote shifter, shorter, leaner, and tougher than Gideon. He's a top, and he loves a big man, but, usually, they're jerks and expect him to be a twink. But none of that matters when they discover they're mates, and they're at the crux of a coyote shifter prophecy, one made the day Miller was born. A foretelling Gideon has never heard of, and Miller has never believed in.

Shifters everywhere, it seems, at least Gideon's bear clan and Miller's coyote den, are giving birth to fewer babies, and the babies don't shift. Gideon can shift, but he lacks the enhanced senses, while Miller can't shift at all. Miller believes shifters are becoming extinct, while Gideon's clan blamed it all on him, and banished him. The prophecy states that Miller, with the help of his bear mate, will become alpha, and restore them to their former power. I think I can understand why Miller is leery of that responsibility. None of this matters though, because he'd like to get to know Gideon, and maybe work on having a relationship. Except Gideon feels like a failure in that department, and doesn't realize his clan, and his former boyfriends, used him for their own gain.

"Miller doubted anyone had spent much time bringing Gideon pleasure. He could feel Gideon’s need for care, for tenderness, for attention. For love. It matched the chasm in Miller that would only be filled by finding someone to spend his life with."

What a wonderful start to a new series. I'm not telling you whether they fulfilled the prophecy. Or not. I can say, it's a great read, and I fell in love with Gideon and Miller. Bailey has done it again, and now I'm really looking forward to the next one.

Original Blog Post: eARC Review: Off Course (Coyote’s Call #1) by Bailey Bradford

This started off really well, I actually snorted out laughing at the visuals of Gideon's worst nightmare in the form of the scorpions. His rush to get out of their nasty presence and then...

This has a lot of potential which is the main reason why I cannot rate this lower. Gideon is a true gentle giant of a bear, both literally and figuratively. He had been rejected most of his life and so his getting cast out was really expected. As he run, he hides and he discovers, nearly dying in the efforts.

Then there is Miller Hudson, the one guy who had the fortune of discovering Gid's body in the desert and thinking it was dead. That the man had a bit of a pulse was a good sign. That the man was the prophesied bear? Now, that was just not good. Why? Well, because in his experience, prophesies never really came true and who could actually trust a shaman who would prophesy under the influence of a whole lot of hallucinogens? Now wonder his den was in limbo.

The two discover love and unlike other paranormal, shape-shifter stories, the crying out of 'mine' or 'mate' was never even mentioned. They knew they had developing feelings and instead of forcing everything into the mating tango, they decided to learn to live with each other. Their discovery of love went hand in hand with their discovery of the mysteries that was hitting the shape-shifter world. There was also the drama of the dirty cop and his misguided actions that hurt a lot of people, one person in particular, and his partner.

Just as it was getting interesting, the book ends with a whole lot of plot holes that were truly designed to be there so the other book installments can come pick them up.

This is an interesting shifter story and I love the gentleness of the bearish Gideon.

Cast out of his pack for being a curse, Gideon Wells’ worst night ever starts out with a bang and leads him to the very last thing he ever expected in this mesmerizing paranormal m/m shifter romance. The story is an emotionally gripping tale that brings some disturbing prejudices to light and shows how people can come together to overcome those things. Dangerous threats and a prophecy including a bear mate adds lots of spice and excitement to the story and along with all the passionate encounters ensures that the reader never gets bored and I was completely caught up in the story from the very beginning and I can’t wait to read the next story in Bailey Bradford’s new series.

I enjoyed this book greatly. I like Bailey Bradford's writing style a lot, and her characters are always very likeable and relatable.
The premise, while following some of the favourite shifter tropes is fresh and engaging - we have Gideon, a subby bear shifter with body image issues and low self esteem following years of abusive neglect in his former ursine clan, and Miller, a pocket sized toppy coyote shifter with a huge heart and a reluctant leader of a den of coyotes who lost their ability to shift.

It's a low angst story with a lot of mutual healing and an external source of conflict, and while the attraction and emotional connection between the characters emerge very quickly, it doesn't feel like insta-lust and insta-love (there is no explicit mating instinct, for a change).

This was super hot...so awesome. This was my first read from Bailey Bradford and it won't be me last. Shifter books have to be really good for me to enjoy them and this one definitely fits.

I love Gideon and Miller. Gideon is a big bear of a man (literally and as a gay guy). Although, he gets shunned by his clan since he's not "shifter" enough. He's also never found a good sexual partner as he prefers to be topped. Miller on the other hand is a tiny man but he exudes the alpha personality and dominance.

These guys were just made for each other and this is one hell of a love story. I also enjoyed the raunchy sex like rimming, felching and fisting. Awesome.

Definitely enjoyable!
Loved both Gideon and Miller. But Miller's mum and friends were the stars of the whole story! Loved them!
Gideon was adorable and Miller might just try a bit too much to be macho. They are definitely opposites both in appearance and in personalities.

I will definitely continue the series when I get the chance.

It been yonks since I have read a MM novel since I have been more interested in other books and nothing has really caught my eye. I haven’t completely given up on the genre, just only read MMF ménages when I wanted something with a little bit of MM. I thought it was about time, I read one to see if things had change since the days I read them because to be honest I read some of the most cheesy ones out there. Plus I know there is so much better MM books out there .

I have read a few MM paranormals back in the day and found them to be easy reads , but nothing to substantial . However Bradford surprised me and I loved her take on the shifters and the story she weaved too about bears and coyotes . From the moment I read that blurb, I knew that I had found something interesting and intriguing that would offer me something more than a cheesy read.

Gideon our bear shifter is an outcast who been forced to find his own way in the world. A teddy bear literally , Gideon has been dealt with a rough hand, facing abuse and being unwanted. Not surprising when we meet him, the author gives us the idea that he is down on his luck literally. Making his way across Texas, we meet him on a cold night at his lowest but not at his wits end. Stuck in the middle of the desert, he knows that he could die but he struggles onwards in the hopes that he finds a miracle and gets saved.

Saved that he is by Miller, a man with his own problems but happy to find Gideon . I loved their first interactions as they don’t know how to get their feelings and thoughts out about each other and the situation. Miller is position of authority in area, a role he has reluctantly taken on in order to help his community. The community is in trouble and there is his den problems as well and Miller has to sort them out all. Despite all this Gideon seems to be a fresh air into the situation and soon becomes a pillar for both, Miller and the community as they try to sort out the problems

Two opposites falling in love in face of adversity, it read more like a contemporary book more than a paranormal at times but I wasn’t complaining as there was a beautiful story that had many elements entwined with the story. This book has revived my love for the MM genre which had been gone for too longer. I loved the descriptive writing and characters that the author created. For the start of a new series, the author hit the right notes with me, and I look forward to seeing where this series will go next. If you are looking for a beautiful story about finding your way and not judging things on first glance this is the book for you . I loved Miller and Gideon together and how they coaxed the best out of each other and this made the book a little bit more special in my eyes.

3.5 couples

This may have been the strangest shifter story that I have ever read.

This story starts out with Gideon (bear shifter) driving to parts unknown. You get the idea immediately that he has been kicked out of his bear shifter den what you don’t know for sure is why. After his car starts smoking, Gideon throws himself from his vehicle before he has the opportunity to put it into park. So it bursts into flames and also ignites a field in the middle of nowhere. Gideon, on the ground, panting realizes there are scorpions, everywhere. He gets up, starts running and he feels like they are chasing him. The author never explains the scorpions. They come back for a brief part later in the story and again they are never explained. I want to know the significance of the scorpions. Why did they look mutant? Why did they seem to have more legs then regular scorpion`s? Why do they seem to be following him?

So, unaware of how long he has ran/walked and unaccustomed to the hot Texas heat he collapses. This is how Miller (coyote shifter) finds him. He is incredibly dehydrated, sunburned and on the verge of death. Miller takes him home and doctors him up.

The attraction between Miller and Gideon is almost immediate. Miller has a thing for big men and Gideon happens to be a bear shifter, so he is large. Gideon loves men that take control in every situation. Just because he’s big, physically doesn’t mean he’s dominant and he loves how Miller is very dominant. The sex scenes are ok, hot, but I did feel like something was lacking. It’s was like they went from hand jobs to talking about fisting in a blink of an eye. I missed the build up that usually comes with something that big.

There was also a lot of talk about some “prophecy” that Miller and Gideon were a part of. Again, the back story lacked a lot. Apparently, something happened which causes Miller’s den to lose the ability to shift and essentially all of their shifter abilities. Apparently, Gideon and Miller’s mating would help heal the den dynamic and allow them to live up to their full potential as coyote shifters. Again, a lot of that was not clear. So we were left with a lot of questions.

There was also a homophobic, psychotic cop thrown into the mix just to add another layer of….WTF??!?!?! I don’t know. After reading this I was left with a lot of questions but not in the way that I’m dying for the next book to get the answers. I have questions but I just don’t care enough to ask and that’s unfortunate because I think this could have been great. It just wasn’t.

A few months ago I reviewed a little number called Texas and Tarantulas by Bailey Bradford. I mention this because the beginning of this book sounded quite familiar to me. Kind of the same, but different.

For instance, we start out with a bear shifter (Featured character in Texas and Tarantulas was a bear shifter.) who had been cast out of his clan, cruising down a rather desolate Texas road in the middle of the night. His car pops and bucks and begins to burn. Yes, burn as in FIRE! Gideon, the bear shifter, grabs his pack – how he had the presence of mind to grab the pack with his car burning around him was amazing – and dives out of the car kind of landing on his face and coming eyeball to stinger with a pair of scorpions. As in Texas and Tarantulas, there is a bear shifter who is an arachnid phobic. “And no man of his height— six-four, thank you very much—and weight— two-twenty, almost all muscle—should sound like a terrified five-year-old girl trying to say bad words.” I was laughing out loud just imagining this, as he is fleeing mindlessly away from these “mutant scorpions.” This alone had me hooked on this book to see what happened as this was just the first chapter.

After Gideon ran his shoes into the ground and drank all of his water, Miller finds him passed out on the edge of his property. Miller brings him back to his place, helps Gideon clean up, doctors him up, feeds him, and promptly falls in lust. OMG! These two were so hot together! They burned up the sheets, the shower, the couch, the floor, the desk – well just say they had a hard time keeping their hands off each other. HOT! By the way, like in Texas and Tarantulas, Miller is short – only 5’5” – but he is all dominate alpha in spite of it.

I rather enjoyed the story in this too, not just the interaction between Miller and Gideon. Coyote shifters who have lost their ability to shift so they have disbanded their “den,” and prophecies. It made for a very entertaining and interesting story. I enjoyed the interaction with the other “den” members, and Miller’s mother was a real hoot.

I found this to have a fun group of characters and a good story the moved along well and held my interest. Any lover of the paranormal m/m romance genre should enjoy this. Though be warned, there is some discussion of assault and rape of a minor, so those with triggers, you have been warned. Also, those that are squeamish about BDSM that includes fisting – move along, this is not the book for you. Those of us whose minds are firmly entrenched in the kinky side of things, grab a cool drink and enjoy!

I don’t know where Bailey Bradford has been hiding all my life, but I loved Off Course! I can’t wait to read more of the Coyote’s Call series, since this was just the first.

Things started out so poorly for sweet Gideon. Cast out by his clan, his car catching on fire, evil scorpions, and then walking for so long in the desert he nearly dies. That’s one awful week.

Little does he know, his terrible experience would lead him to his destiny.

*dun dun dunnnnn*

Hehe, sorry.

Anyway, so I love the pairing of a dominant coyote shifter with a submissive bear shifter. It’s not what you’d expect but it really fricken worked.

Miller is short in stature, but refuses to let it define him. Though, it has been a bit difficult to find partners who didn’t automatically assume he was a bottom. Which was the opposite problem that Gideon had being a big, hairy…bear.

They find in each other, though, everything they’ve been missing.

There’s enough plot going on in Off Course that it isn’t just sex, sex, sex. However, the sex was frequent, inventive, and hot. I loved that it showed the trust that Gideon and Miller developed for each other.

Another thing I really liked was how funny Gideon was. His internal monologue from the first page had me chuckling to myself.

Plus, there was none of that *big misunderstanding* B.S. thrown in just to create conflict. When Miller tried to be a dummy, Gideon called him on it and then they talked it through. It was glorious.

Please note, there was an incident of gay bashing that included sexual assault that occurred off page (it happened in the past and not to either of the MCs). There was also a scene where one of the MCs was threatened with sexual assault but it doesn’t happen (sorry if you consider that a spoiler, but I’d want to know). Know your triggers and avoid if needed.

I was seriously satisfied with Off Course and I’ll be reading the next one as soon as humanly possible. I need to find out what happens with the den!

In many ways this was the ideal book for my reading mood and it actually brought be out of a prolonged book slump, which is always a good thing. I really liked Bailey Bradford’s relaxed and witty writing style, none of the dialogue felt forced but the characters still maintained their individuality.

For me this is a book all about characters, part of the reason I chose to read it was because it played with the Dominant/Submissive stereotype. Miller the ‘dominant’ one in the relationship was physically the smaller of the two, and I don’t mean he was 6 Feet to Gideon’s 6’7! Please we all know romantic heroes are crazy tall... I wouldn’t put it past an author. Instead Miller is only 5’5 as he informs someone during the course of the book. In contrast Gideon is 6 Foot tall and a bear shifter on-top. The man is huge and yet is naturally the more submissive in the relationship.

Also before I get carried away I want to clarify that this isn’t a BDSM relationship but merely that Gideon and Miller have preferences in the bedroom that normally people would be mistaken about. Miller Tops, Gideon Bottoms and it suits them fine. In fact a lot of the obstacles in this books focus around the pre-conceived ideas based on a person’s physical appearance. I love how Bailey Bradford played with both societies preconceptions about a person but also the romance communities ideas about what an ‘alpha hero’ should look like.

I thought Miller and Gideon were well-thought out characters with fears, worries and hopes that were believable. Gideon for example has very little self-confidence due to his former ‘den’ expecting very little of him. In contrast Miller is terrified of being an official alpha to his ‘den’ because they could expect to much of him...

Gideon is an outcast who must find his own path. He comes from a clan of bears that not only abuse him emotionally, but also abuse him physically. Right away, I wanted to wrap Gideon in a hug. He has this endearing pathetic quality at the beginning of the story. When he finds himself out in the desert of Texas, he knows that he might die. However, he trudges on.

Miller is a pioneer in his community. Despite his not wanting to be the leader, deep down, he knows that he is the leader of his community and somewhat dysfunctional den. There is corruption in his community, violence against his den members and this old prophecy that hangs over his head. Miller has the weight of all of this on him.

When Miller comes across a severely dehydrated and sunburned Gideon, Miller decides to take Gideon back to his trailer to help him. It is there that Gideon finds himself - his self worth. He becomes a major part of Miller's community and in turn, helps Miller take up responsibility for his den.

There is a dark member of the community who would see any and all gay members destroyed, so it's up to Gideon and Miller to flush that person out and protect their community.

This was a quick and easy read. The story was pleasant and I really enjoyed how Miller took the time to coax Gideon out of his shell. This story had several lessons on not judging things by how they look and I thought that was a great part of the story - too often people are judged based on appearance rather than their substance. I wish I knew more about what happened to the community at the end. The reader is left with an impression, but no confirmation.

I was given this in return for an honest review by Inked Rainbow Reads.

A toppy coyote and a submissive bear. I liked the dynamic as well as the phyiscal differences between the men. Gideon has always been expected to act the Alpha just because he looks like one but he isn’t one and the reverse is true of Miller who is an Alpha through and through despite his smaller size. I enjoyed how the men figured out they were compatible. There was a real sweetness to their relationship from the moment they met tempered with boat loads of chemistry. I found Gideon so adorable and Miller is perfect for him. There’s some incredibly hot sex here once the men get down to it but a heads up, Miller likes to tie Gideon up as much as Gideon likes to be tied up and the men explore some rimming and fisting in addition to more BDSM.

I thought they were really great together and I liked the progression of their relationship through the story as the ties between them became tighter and stronger. The sex was fabulous but I also liked how good each man was for the other in terms of personality and they helped one another to work out issues of self esteem and responsibility. It brought a nice edge to this read.

This is an interesting start to a series. I enjoyed the secondary characters that were introduced, especially Roman, who has a story I can’t wait to read about. The strength of this story was in the relationships and where it faltered for me was the bad guys. They were more than a little over the top. Still the concept of the shifter issues that are happening is quite different from any other shifter book I’ve read and I’m curious to see where the next in the series will take it.

I liked it quite a bit. So there. Er, why did I like it? Uh...difficult to explain. I am partial to the trope/theme/whatever you call it, where there is a larger, dominant MC and with a smaller, more submissive, MC. Having said that, I am apparently also partial to stories that turn that around the other way, as this is the third or fourth story I can think of to do that and I liked them all. Maybe I just like the dominant/submissive theme because I feel that basically all relationships work this way. Sometimes it is so obvious that we give it a label, but other times it is more subtle and we don't think of it in the same way. And sometimes it flip-flops, in x situation person 1 is more dominant - maybe they are calmer in a crisis and the second person falls apart, but turn things around to the boring minutiae of everyday life and they switch. In good relationships people mesh, were one is weak the other is strong and vice versa, so they weave together to form one strong bond.

Um, totally got philosophical there. *blink* Anyhow, Gideon is sweet and kind of high strung and very insecure. I thought he was adorable. Miller was more confident in most regards, calmed Gideon down, built him up, and treated him with respect.

Maybe I've made some sense, maybe I haven't. I dunno, I just liked it. :)

There is something about Ms. Bradford’s books that I just completely enjoy. And that certainly was the case with this story as well.
I really enjoyed how Ms. Bradford has done things differently with her latest shifter books, especially with this one because it was so great to read something that was so left field. I really do like how she makes her stories a bit different from the others that are out there currently.
I also loved how her men are not always what they seem. In the case of Gideon, he’s not at all what you would expect him to be. It was such a great twist to the story, because it added that little something extra to it.
The twists that Ms. Bradford thought to add into this story differently kept me on the edge of my seat waiting for more. I just had to find out if Gideon was going to be able to bring peace to Miller and his clan. And of course, there was already so much extra drama happening that it really added to the story even more.
Overall, I think this is a great start to a new series and I really can’t wait to see where it ends up heading!

Five stars from me means I got exactly what I wanted..a couple I like, getting an HEA, with very little angst, and a book I will read again. The fact that this is the beginning of a new series is a major plus for me.

I love shifter stories, and I especially love Bailey's shifters. This was a different take on the shifter story, and I really enjoyed it. I am looking forward to seeing where Bailey goes with it.

The characters were fun. Gideon is a twink trapped in a big ol'bear body and Miller was just the right amount of unsure alpha. He keeps calling Gideon honey, which is sweet, because this is Texas and everyone is honey, sugar, or baby. And honestly, baby drives me batshit!

I love, love, love Miller's mom! She is something else! The other characters you meet all have stories just waiting to be told...and I can't wait to read them.

This was a great beginning to another of Bailey's series! I absolutely loved it and cannot wait for the next book! I love the shifter stories that involve MC's from different shifter species. Most shifter stories have the insta-love/mate thing going on, which I love, but it's always nice when they feel a connection but don't immediately jump into love, instead they take a bit of time to get to know one another before the 'i love you' is exchanged; even if it's only a few days or weeks.

Enjoyable and highly recommended!

I really enjoyed this! I loved Gideon so much. e was just so freaking lovable and all he wanted was to be loved and appreciated. I hate how is former pack treated him. Miller was just so perfect for him. He was solid and he was committed. This is pretty much insta-love but it really worked for me. It felt natural. I liked the mythology of the pack and how they'd lost their ability. I loved Miller's mom, and my heart broke for Roman. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

book is interesting, but it just drags on> Ok, while reading erotic novels I have discovered now two things that make me really queasy. the first is hardcore BDSM and the second being fisting. Now that new dendrites has been formed the word kinky sex just took on a whole new meaning after reading this book.

Sweet. HOT. I liked how they helped each other gain confidence. The realization that they loved each other seemed a little off to me-not much depth to it. All in all a good start to a new series. I look forward to the next one.

I adored Gideon and all his inner monologues! A sweet bear of a man, who's also a bear shifter, he meets Miller, a coyote shifter who can't shift. There're are so many stereotypes that are turned on it's head in this novel - I loved it.
