This was an interesting read. Although very similar to another of her books “Accidentally Overweight”, it reminded me of some things and taught me some new things:
1. There’s no point aiming for 1700 calories a day to lose weight, if that 1700 calories includes cookies, ice cream, coffee, milo and other “things with numbers in them”. 2000 calories is actually ok if its all whole food
2. For some people caffeine (even in small doses) can be one of the reasons they are struggling to lose weight or being affected by other things.
3. Chamomile tea can have with digestive challenges…not to be underestimated when trying to lose weight
4. Stress is a massive reason why weight loss can be hard.
5. Many new mums rush around when baby sleeps doing housework etc, but this can cause stress (see 4). I feel even better with my decision to use nap time as “me time”.
She did rehash alot of stuff from Accidentally Overweight. I also felt she was quite anti-running. And it was a little bit airy fairy in parts.
A good read for anyone interested in healthy living and nourishing your body, rather than going on a diet.
