his is the part I'm always the worst at—talking about myself! So as you've figured out, my name is Elizabeth Rudnick and I'm a young adult author. I'm also a Senior Editor at Disney Press in New York City. I've edited books based on movies like Pirates of the Caribbean and Prince of Persia as well as Miley Cyrus's memoir, Miles to Go, which was a New York Times bestseller (imagine if Tweet Heart was too!) and a total blast to work on.
When I'm not working, I live in Connecticut with a big mutt named Jack Dyson (because he has the ability to suck up anything in his way) and have a habit of watching hours of mindless television. I like to think of it as research!
This one is an absolute chore to get through if you aren't crazy about Olaf and his antics. I'm sure any kid who thinks Olaf is the funniest thing ever would adore this book, but I personally can only take so much of him. If you're the type of person who thinks Olaf's Frozen Adventure is the worst thing in the Frozen series, avoid this book.
I love when a story has a lesson in the end for children. We shouldn't underestimate the power of books and characters for a kid. I think that when one children see one character doing something, she'll remember when a similar situation happen with her.
Sven and Olaf take over Kristoff's ice delivery duties for the day - without telling him. This one was a bit boring and not as funny as the other Frozen books. Target audience 3 stars, my rating 2.
Cute book and nice little adventure. My son liked it and the art in the pictures. He likes sven and Olaf. It was a nice little story and had a great outcome in the end. Nice bedtime story.
What is not to love about a tiny snowman who loves warm hugs and says that some people are worth melting for?!
Olaf plus Sven (I'm pretty sure he is the most judgmental reindeer ever) plus best intentions equals hilarious hijinks and funny lessons that are learned in the sweetest way as Olaf declares himself the substitute ice deliverer of Arendelle. Oh, he tries, but he isn't quite the substitute for Kristoff!
If your littles are fans of Frozen (or you, yourself!), this is definitely a book that they need to read. I hope that Disney keeps publishing books about the inhabitants of Arendelle for years to come.
This book was cute. It was short and a very easy read. Elsa and Anna weren't in it very much. It mostly revolved around Olaf and Sven with a little bit of Kristoff in it. It wasn't a great book and wasn't written the best but it was still good. The characters were a little off from their true selves from the movie but it wasn't too bad. I enjoyed it and fans of the movie that can't get enough of the characters will enjoy it.
