What a maze of confusion and hole-riddled plotlines this was. Bloody hell. I hate this book.
My Husband’s Wife unfolds across two timelines:
📌 Present day:
Eden is an artist who lives in Hope Falls with her husband, Harrison. One day, she comes home to discover that her husband doesn’t recognize her, and her life has been stolen by another woman who not only looks like her but claims to be her husband’s wife.
⏳ Six months earlier:
Birdy is terminally ill and doesn’t have long left to live. She lives in London but has to go back to Hopefalls to see to the issue of the inheritance her grandmother has left her.
Eventually, these two timelines (and stories) collide, and Birdy becomes involved in the mystery surrounding Eden’s husband and his two wives. This is also the exact moment everything went completely off the rails for me.
I spent a good part of my teenage years watching shows like Bones, NCIS, Criminal Minds, and Sherlock because I love the thrill of unraveling a mystery. Now when a plot doesn’t hold up under scrutiny, or worse, doesn’t even attempt to be believable, I take that personally.
My Husband's Wife starts off fast-paced and thrilling, making you eager for the story to come together, but it quickly begins to feel like the author has a checklist of plot twists and is simply dropping them in one by one. Just enough to keep the reader hooked, irritated, and morbidly curious.
Then we reach the point where all remaining twists are dumped at once. It reminded me of the Powerpuff Girls opening with Professor X frantically adding ingredients. Except instead of “Chemical X,” it’s pure narrative chaos.
By this point, the plot has become an uncontrollable monster, and there aren’t enough pages left to let it rampage properly. So it has to be shut down. Quickly. And what better way to do damage control than by handing out happy endings like dollar bills? You get closure! You get closure! Everybody gets closure!
This was my first book by Alice Feeney, and what a poor introduction it was.

If you want the full breakdown of what didn’t work for me, please read on.
➤ First of all, the "wife swap". Preposterous. Truly. So no one in this town ever saw the real Eden during the time she lived there? And conveniently, no one saw Mary either? Everyone recognized her car but not her? She was a carer who was somehow never out in public?
I cannot be the only one who sees a problem.
➤ We learn that Birdy is Harrison’s first wife and that the entire scheme was orchestrated to punish Eden. Fine. I’ll even go along with that. But then explain this:
Why doesn’t Harrison recognize Birdy when she appears as an investigator, even in his first-person narrated chapters?
➤ Why is Birdy shocked when she sees Gabriella’s photo in Harrison’s house if Gabriella is her daughter?
And why does Harrison say this?
Like he knew she would? Man, that’s your ex-wife, the mother of your daughter? Am I missing something here? Why is his inner monologue putting on a show for the readers? If this is intentionally written as a way to throw the reader off, then it’s poorly done. None of it is satisfying. It’s just confusing for the sake of being confusing.
➤ And what exactly was the point of Thanatos predicting Birdy’s death date? What was the point of the storyline with Birdy’s mother’s death? Why was so much emphasis put on it?
➤ And finally, not a question but a statement: The revelation about the “plain wife” was ridiculous as hell.

Phenomenal. My brain feels like it’s twisted into a million knots this was SO GOOD. Absolutely my new favorite Alice Feeney book!

Let me start by saying this: I’ve always loved Feeney’s books. She’s literally one of the authors who sits comfortably on my priority list, no matter what. But this book? Oh my gosh. It absolutely blew my mind in the best, most chaotic way possible. I’ve been craving a book that would shake me to my core, something that would completely take over my brain… and this was it.
I’m going to be honest as much as I adore Feeney, her recent books hadn’t been hitting that same sweet spot for me. I kept waiting and waiting for something that would snap me back into that old excitement, and low-key, I was scared this one would miss too. But it didn’t. Not even close. I loved every single second of it. I devoured it so fast because there was just no way I could stop. The grip this book had on me should honestly be studied.
You know those stories that just grab you by the throat, drag you into the plot, and refuse to let you breathe until the very end? Yeah… that’s exactly what this felt like. I may or may not have neglected a few responsibilities just so I could keep reading but can you blame me? It was that good.
Not gonna lie, Feeney truly redeemed herself with this one.

This book kicks off with a woman returning from her run, ready to walk into her house like any normal day… except her own front door suddenly refuses to open. She tries the lock again and again, convinced she’s just tired or slipping but nope. And then the real chaos begins: her husband, the man she’s been married to for years, doesn't recognise her. Like, genuinely looks at her as if she’s a complete stranger.
From that moment on, she’s thrown into this spiraling confusion, trying her best to make sense of what’s happening. She talks to people, reaches out for help, tries every possible angle but instead of clarity, she gets hit with something even wilder. There’s another woman out there who looks exactly like her. Same face, same everything… and she’s pretending to be her. Because of that, everyone around the actual FMC thinks she’s lying, unstable, delusional basically losing it.
The tension only builds when she goes to see her own daughter, hoping at least she will recognise her… and even her daughter looks at her like she’s a stranger. That moment alone had me clutching my chest. And from there? It just keeps escalating, layer after layer, until an even more unexpected twist hits and throws everything into chaos all over again.
Honestly, this book kept serving me plot twists like it was on a mission. I read thrillers like candy, and I genuinely could not predict a single thing. Not one. Every time I thought I had cracked the mystery, the book was like, “lol nice try.” And that final twist? I swear, I did not see it coming. I considered every possible scenario… but this one? Hell no. It shook me straight to my core.
➳ About the characters :-
Not going to lie, nobody does the unreliable narrator trope better than Feeney and this book proved it again. I swear, I couldn’t trust a single character. Not the actual FMC, Eden, definitely not her husband Harrison (the way he acted?? suspicious), and absolutely not Birdy. I mean, be honest… who’s putting their faith in someone name Birdy? And Gabriella, the daughter? Yeah, even she had me side-eyeing every line she said, not that she said much.
Every single character kept dropping suspicious hints, acting weird, or saying something that made me question everything I thought I knew. I was genuinely playing detective at this point, trying to figure out who the real villain was. And the funniest part? The person who actually turned out to be the antagonist was nowhere on my radar. Not even close. I know I’ve said this like a hundred times now, but truly I did not see that twist coming. At all.
The characters were also mildly infuriating at times because they kept drifting away from the actual point, and I wanted to shake them like, “HELLO?? focus??” That little frustration is literally the only reason I’m not giving this book a full five stars. That… and the fact that I’m a tiny bit of a hater anyway.

Not to be biased or anything, but this was the book that fully restored my faith in Feeney. Like… she really said “let me remind you who I am” and delivered. And the fact that I got the ARC? I’m still not over it. I was already planning to buy the book the second it hit shelves, so getting approved for the ARC of my most anticipated read felt absolutely unreal. Peak reader moment fr.
This thriller is a whole whirlwind plot twists, suspense, chaos, drama, the works. Exactly what I needed, especially after my last thriller left me feeling so meh. Maybe I’m just picky or maybe that book wasn’t meant for me, but this one? It hit the perfect spot and showed up in my life at the exact right time.

At what point does Alice Feeney accept responsibility for our whiplash? 🤕
I finished this a day ago and my mind is still spinning…
In My Husband's Wife, Eden Fox returns home to find another woman living in her house and claiming to be her husband’s wife, unraveling a dangerous mystery of identity and deception. As the story alternates with Birdy, a reclusive woman drawn to the same house by a seemingly sinister clinic that predicts death dates, the truth twists until nothing (and no one) is what it seems.
Alice Feeney is an auto-buy author for me after how much I loved Daisy Darker (5 ★, an all-time favorite) a couple years ago. In addition to that one, I’ve also read Rock Paper Scissors (3.5 ★), Good Bad Girl (2.5 ★), Beautiful Ugly (1.5 ★), and Sometimes I Lie (1 ★ - DNF). She is clearly very hit or miss for me.
I’m glad to have found another hit!
This book’s premise initially felt like a combination of a couple books that I’ve read in the past: Stay Awake (2 ★) and The Measure (2 ★). For both, I found the ideas better than the execution. Although this story is pretty different, I found the execution to be better here when combined with all the other elements. Why did I also kind of get The Silent Patient (4.5 ★) vibes from one of the characters in this? Just me?
I loved the setting of this book. Hope Falls is the perfect remote small-town setting, and I loved the idea and name of Spyglass, the house that this story is centered around a lot of the time.
The characters are all LIARS! You will not be able to trust anyone in this book. I found almost all of them unlikable, but in a good way?!
This story was an insane ride. There are SO many twists, and I guessed almost none of them. If you are someone that doesn’t like twists happening in every way possible, you may be annoyed by this, but I enjoyed it well enough. I do think that there were so many twists that some lose their effect. I feel similarly about this one to some Riley Sager books where there are so many twists just so you can’t possibly guess them all. This type of thing doesn’t really bother me though.
I lowered my rating mainly for the amount of disbelief you have to suspend for some of the later twists. They blew my mind but also had me questioning things about the plot and whether it made sense. I also wasn’t the biggest fan of how rushed the ending felt to me.
Overall, I think you should check this one out if you like Alice Feeney and her crazy twists. I can totally see why this one has such high ratings!

Alice whatever you’re smoking I want some girlypop!
In My Husbands Wife Eden is coming back home from a jog. She gets home to find she can’t get in and the woman on the other side of the door tells Eden that she is in fact Eden and the husband also corroborates this too. Soooooo WTF is going on!? Will the real Eden please stand up!?
Look before you start throwing your bookmarks at me I completely accept that I am an outlier with this one. Ummm WTAF!?
Firstly, this was a book I had to hybrid and I am glad I switched to the audiobook format because it was the narrators and sound effect productions that salvaged this novel somewhat.
Don’t get me wrong I was locked in at first, I thought I had it all figured out but good Ol' Ms. Feeney quickly slapped the common sense out of me and took me on THEE most convoluted, nonsensical, whiplash, twisted web of a ride!
I love a good twist, I really do, but it just didn’t work in this book. I was frankly confused and underwhelmed at the same time. AGAIN… I am happy to accept that it is just me and I am not clever enough to understand the ‘twists’ and ‘reveals’ BUTTTTT…….. All my Hopes really did Fall with this one. 👀👀👀
Listen I have a headache. There was just too much going on. I couldn’t tell if it was meant to be a:

I can’t even delve into the characters too much because I am genuinely confused by EVERYONE
When you feel like you need to re-read a book to try and understand it, then it means that book really didn’t work for you and that’s the issue I’m facing. Its such a shame as I really enjoyed some of these authors earlier books but her last few releases have me giving major side eye.
This could have been a banger, but the saying ‘less is more’ couldn’t have rang truer and really needed it to be applied to this book.
ANYWHOOOOO if you couldn’t tell already this one unfortunately did not work for me but if you do pick this one up, I would highly advice the audiobook and urge to create a spider chart as you listen along.

In My Husbands Wife Eden is coming back home from a jog. She gets home to find she can’t get in and the woman on the other side of the door tells Eden that she is in fact Eden and the husband also corroborates this too. Soooooo WTF is going on!? Will the real Eden please stand up!?
Look before you start throwing your bookmarks at me I completely accept that I am an outlier with this one. Ummm WTAF!?
Firstly, this was a book I had to hybrid and I am glad I switched to the audiobook format because it was the narrators and sound effect productions that salvaged this novel somewhat.
Don’t get me wrong I was locked in at first, I thought I had it all figured out but good Ol' Ms. Feeney quickly slapped the common sense out of me and took me on THEE most convoluted, nonsensical, whiplash, twisted web of a ride!
I love a good twist, I really do, but it just didn’t work in this book. I was frankly confused and underwhelmed at the same time. AGAIN… I am happy to accept that it is just me and I am not clever enough to understand the ‘twists’ and ‘reveals’ BUTTTTT…….. All my Hopes really did Fall with this one. 👀👀👀

I was IMMEDIATELY intrigued by this FUN and TWISTY story, which I think is one of Alice Feeney’s BEST books to date. I actually made quite a few guesses which turned out to be correct, but not to worry-the author had a FEW MORE twists up her sleeve which I didn’t see coming too.
ESPECIALLY the one revealed AFTER the epilogue.

3.5 Stars (I wish I could round, but I can’t 😩)
This book had me immediately.
From the first page I was hooked. By chapter two, I knew Feeney was cooking…
The pacing is sharp, the tension builds quickly, and I genuinely walked around with my headphones on because I had to know what happened next. It's truly unputdownable in that first stretch.
Birdy, in particular, is such a compelling character. Unreliable, layered, slightly unhinged — I was locked into her perspective the entire time. Whether she's right or wrong, stable or spiraling, she's fascinating.
Where this lost me slightly is in the twist execution.
I love multiple twists. I love being surprised. I love that "oh shit" moment when everything reframes. But here, the reveals come in rapid succession and all at once. Instead of sitting with the shock, I found myself mentally rewinding - juggling identities, timelines, and motivations — trying to reconstruct the entire book in real time.
Much of this is due to reading via audible, you’d be surprised how easily I can be thrown off when the narrators have heavy accents.
But it still slowed the tempo for me.
I went from racing toward a whodunnit to having to pause and take inventory. Love layers and complexity - but here they felt delivered in a way that was more chaotic than seamless.
Is it just me? Because it feels like it lol. 😅
Overall, I was deeply entertained, completely intrigued, and emotionally invested. This is a solid 3.5 stars for me — almost a 4 — because I truly enjoyed the ride. I just wish the final reveals felt more fluid.

While I normally like to include a synopsis in my reviews, this book is best read if gone into completely blind. If you do, and enjoy being confused in the best way, you are in for such a treat with Alice Feeney’s upcoming release. One thing she has done incredibly well in each and every one of her novels is to leave us tiny breadcrumbs throughout the story. Now, we may not pick up on said breadcrumbs during our read, but when we reach the end and the big reveals, it’s easy to see how we were led there all along.
In fact, she is so good at this, I have taken to referring to the inclusion or lack thereof as the Feeney Test. Does a twisty novel pass the Feeney test? Or has the writer done us a complete disservice by never leaving us the blueprint but rather throwing everything on our head in the last chapters of the book? Did I feel massively turned around during a good portion of this book? You betcha. And I absolutely loved it. Keeping in mind I always knew I would eventually discover the breadcrumbs, I was able to trust Feeney to take me on an amazing psychological journey that left me fully satisfied by the time I reached its conclusion.
I must also say, I am also a huge fan of both the way she writes her characters— flawed but always so relatable— and the atmospheric nature of her prose. The setting of this book, which you may be able to tell from the cover, is the Cornwall coast in a beautiful house on a hill with the very creepy name of Spyglass. And as our story unfolds, and you make your way in and around the desolate Spyglass through her descriptions, the atmosphere becomes more and more eerie, and the property begins to feel like a character in its own right.
🎧 This book is equally amazing as a graphic audiobook, completely with sound effects and a full cast. You absolutely cannot go wrong whether you choose to read this one with your eyes or your ears; however, the best experience is an immersive one using both the audio and the physical or ebook edition.

Alice Feeney had me guessing the ENTIRE TIME. Had literally no idea what was going on (in the best way) and definitely could not have guessed any of the twits that came our way.
I loved how she used multi-POV here. I initially suspected the trajectory of the story would be easy to guess, based on getting more perspectives - but it was done in a way where you continue to question everyone. Unreliable narrator done right.
Aside from the insane plot, the parallels at the end of the story were so satisfying. Not feel-good satisfying but more just so cleverly written to the point where you just go “ahhhhh yes I see what you did there.”
This made me feel anxious, it creeped me out, the setting was eerie, it had all the elements of a good psychological thriller.

She’s a successful artist about to have her first exhibition in the town’s gallery that night … until the weirdness begins.
Harrison Wolf: Founder and CEO of a tech company that can tell you the date of your death. He’s fiercely devoted to his teen daughter Gabriella, who’s receiving long-term care at a high end place called The Manor many years after a mysterious childhood accident. He’s the entitled type. You know the ones.
Birdy (Olivia Bird): A Londoner with an initially unnamed job who previously inherited Spyglass from her grandmother, before selling it. Birdy discovers an interesting connection between her grandmother and the couple who now own it. She’s also received unfortunate news about her health that brings her back to Hope Falls to tie up loose ends. She’s snarky but fun ... and she has a big husky named Sunday that Luke thinks is a wolf. 🐺
Sergeant Luke Carter: The one-man police department of Hope Falls. He’s young, attractive and ambitious for a promotion he can’t seem to attain. He also can’t seem to keep certain “parts” in his pants, but that’s a whole other story. 😏 Despite this flaw, I liked his character.
Long story short, Eden goes out for a jog on the eve of her exhibition, only to come home to a house where the key doesn’t fit. Furthermore, when she knocks and the door opens, her husband is standing with a woman who looks and dresses like a mirror image of her. They both say they don’t know her. What’s going on?
I’m not telling, but let me assure you … it’s a whole lot of crazy! By the time this story ends it’ll be like looking at the back of a tapestry and trying to sort out where all the threads connect. In fact, if I had a single complaint to make it would be that for the plot to work, you have to accept a lot of convenient connections between characters and plot points. I was having fun and just rolled with it, but others might find it challenging to accept. There’s also a lot more spice and profanity than a typical Feeney book, so be warned if that’s an issue for you.
I listened to this on audio and Bel Powley, Richard Armitage and Henry Rowley, along with the sound effects, made this so much fun. I also love a book that has chapters from the POVs of all the major players. The snarky interactions between Birdy and Luke particularly made me laugh! If you like a super twisty mystery with interesting characters and an intriguing setting, this is a treat I can recommend!

EEEEKK!!! BANGER ALERT!! BANGER ALERT!! A fast-paced thrill ride full of epic twists and unforgettable turns, My Husband’s Wife was Alice Feeney at the top of her game. With her standard quotable prose and atmospheric vibe, my all-time favorite author managed to outdo even herself this time around. You see, thanks to a complex storyline that only got better with every page, my jaw was quite literally on the floor from beginning to end. Gasp-inducing in every sense of the word, the “HOLY S***!” twists got me every time. Even better, however, were the two perfectly timed plot lines. Filled with long-buried secrets, well-hidden lies, and devious schemes, my mind was reeling in the best possible way as the morally gray characters tried to outsmart one another in these short, cliffhanger chapters.
In addition to the many plot-shifting reveals, though, was a storyline that left me thinking long and hard after I flipped the last page. Exploring guilt, consequences, family, and revenge, the thought-provoking themes only added to the fun. And the fact that the whole thing was all told from the point-of-view of multiple compelling yet potentially unreliable narrators? Well, Ms. Feeney had me in the palm of her hand thanks to the whole motley crew. Who to trust and who to believe? Trust me when I say that I was kept guessing from the fast-off-the-block start until the *mic drop* last page. As an Alice Feeney lover (I’ve rated all her books four or five stars), I could not wait to read this newest release- especially since last year’s “Beautiful Ugly” is one of my favorite thrillers of all time. However, this book just didn’t “wow” me unfortunately. Yes, I was glued to the pages, and I couldn’t wait to see what happened next. But, I feel that this was just too over the top for me. In fact, as this book got closer to the end, I couldn’t wait for it to finally be over because I had had enough already.
This story starts off with Eden Fox, returning home after a long run. Eden and her husband have just moved into their new home Spyglass, in the town of Hope Falls. Oddly enough, her key doesn’t fit into her front door. Even more weird, a woman who looks just like her, answers the front door claiming to live there and be married to her husband, Harrison Woolf.
Sgt. Carter is called to the house to determine who the woman is trying to get into the home, and he will try to distinguish who is the real Eden Fox in this story.

Talk about whiplash!!! They don't refer to Alice Feeney as the "Queen of Twists" for nothing. My head is reeling after reading, My Husband's Wife. I wasn't quite sure what was happening during the first half of the book, but I was fully invested and intrigued! Once the second half came around, I had to hold onto my hat because Alice Feeney blew me away with one twist after another!

I usually have a good idea where a book is going when I hit the halfway mark, but not with My Husband's Wife. I still had more questions than answers. I had no idea what was going on or where Alice Feeney was taking me, but I enjoyed the ride! Once the second half kicked in, Alice Feeney delivered!!!! Holy Cow! What a reveal! I mean seriously, I did not see the few reveals which occurred coming. Some were minor but that one reveal was a complete and total shocker!!!!
This book is full of secrets, lies, tension, dread, and characters who are up to no good! I enjoyed not fully knowing where this book was heading and enjoyed the riveting and twist-filled ride! As with her other books, My Husband's Wife was wonderfully written, well thought out, and shocking!
I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed the narration!

4.5 rounded up to 5 for GR! Alice’s books are always SOOOO much fun and full of insanely delicious twists. MY HUSBAND’S WIFE fits that vibe yet again (and how fun is this book title?!)

I felt like this had so much potential to be an eerie, gripping, don't-know-who-to-trust thriller. This was not predictable at all - or at least I didn't see any of this coming really. In the first 50% of the book, I definitely felt that way and was super excited. My heart had picked up the pace, and I was thinking about my own locked doors, you know?
Somewhere around the halfway mark, the plot seemed to contort, as if the characters we had already met were given random jigsaw pieces and told to fit them together. I'm more than happy to be confused and let the story take me into the final plot twist, but I think this started to feel so disjointed that I wasn't sure I was reading the same book anymore.
When you get to the end, the plot DOES make sense. It's a clever premise. However, it didn't feel rewarding at all, and I think that's primarily due to the way it was delivered. In this kind of story, I would expect the stakes to ramp up, and whilst more plot twist elements were added, everyone felt very safe and cozy. It started to feel like there was minimal jeopardy in the last 15% of the book, which is when there should be the most (in my opinion).
When I reflect on why the plot didn't feel high-stakes, I guess it does make logical sense at the end, given everything that's revealed and why the characters behaved the way they did, but I really didn't enjoy it. It really doused the flames. I also feel like there were way too many take-home messages about the human condition thrown in your face that didn't really resonate with me.
I still believe in Alice Feeney, I've read so many of her other books that are absolutely amazing - I'm not sure if I'd recommend this.

4.0 stars— I have been a big fan of Alice Feeney since her first book. However, her previous two books marked a major step-down in my opinion. I am thankful to report, “My Husband’s Wife” marks a return to form for Ms. Feeney. The book begins with an interesting premise: Eden leaves her home for a jog and when she returns she finds that her home’s doors’ locks have been changed. Not only that, she finds that her husband doesn’t recognize her and there is another woman with her name living in the house claiming to be her. When the police arrive they find no family photos or any other evidence that the original Eden lived there or that Eden #1 is even “Eden.” The police take Eden to the station and that is where the book starts filling in the backstory as well as providing different perspectives of the police investigation from the story that unfolds after the very interesting start.. This book is a true Alice Feeney roller coaster in that no matter how minor a character is, they could have a significant impact later in the story. This combined with characters not being who they represent themselves to be made sure the story stayed unpredictable and wild from beginning to end. The only problems I had with the book were, in a story this wild, the implausibilities of many of the plot twists happening were 0. My mind immediately goes to: ‘that would never happen because of this or that’ or ‘why didn’t character x just do this.’ However, despite these problems I was able to suspend my second-guessing and enjoy a very fun page turner that nobody would ever be able to guess the twists and turns nor the ending.

As you can imagine, both of these perspectives are intriguing in their own right. As you go back and forth between the two women, and others, pieces begin slotting into place and you're left pondering, how are they connected?
Secrets, mystery, deception and obsession, this story has it all. Grab your popcorn and buckle up, because it's a wild ride. The perfect read if you need a distraction from the world. I read this in a day after a terrible winter storm had knocked out our power for days.
Luckily, I had this downloaded and it definitely saved my mood from getting too low. I listened to it all at once, while I cleaned and tidied as much as I could, and I was absolutely swept up into the story.
The audiobook is fantastic, with multiple narrators and occasional sound effects, this production succeeded in bringing the drama and action of this story to life. It felt like a cinematic event versus a book. I highly recommend the audio format for those who enjoy audiobooks.
I consider Alice Feeney to be the Queen of Twists, and this novel did nothing but solidify that belief. My Husband's Wife was so crazy and outrageously fun. All of the unpredictable drama, the turns, the sly shifts in perspective bringing continuous new insights, I loved it all.

Holy smoke and mirrors, reading Alice Feeney's latest mind-bending psychological thriller felt like a trip through the looking glass...and left me grinning like the Cheshire Cat.
My Husband’s Wife is a testament to Feeney’s skill in crafting narrative sleight of hand that's both instantly gripping and deceptively complex.
Prepare to be taken down the rabbit hole from the very start.
Pay close attention to details and potential red herrings.
The pacing is breathlessly fast. Short chapters and rotating POVs create relentless momentum as we're lead through a maze of deceit and revelations.
The initial mystery gives way to a deeper conspiracy in this masterful plot.
Dare I say, this may well be Feeney's magnum opus.
It's one of those rare books that as soon as you finish, you want to go straight back to the beginning and experience the rollercoaster ride all over again. 🎢

Now, this was one big hit for me. I’ve been waiting and waiting and waiting for it, and used my credit on audible with anticipation buzzing inside. And boy, this was definitely worth it. From the beginning you feel slightly confused and dizzy by what’s happening, and then as the story progress there is one surprise after another. You know that feeling when you think you know where it’s going and then you have to rearrange it all in your mind. Like a puzzle where the picture turned out to be different than on the box. There are so many whiplash moments in here, like a box of chocolate where a new one pops up as soon as you eat one. Delicious, in the very best way.

I really can’t see the entertainment or the hype around this book. After a long discussion with a coworker, I realized I liked it even less. This book was terrible. The writing? Overly explained and on repeat. The plot? Confusing with loopholes that never made sense. The twists? Too many and not that shocking.. the ending was unexpected but totally over the top. Truthfully I wasn’t even shocked at that point…how is this even remotely 5 stars?
The entire book is about revenge that went like a loop-de-loop rollercoaster but without all the thrills.
All the medical stuff was so far fetched (come on… resuscitated after 10 minutes without any deficits? No anoxic injury, completely and totally whole again? A terminal cancer diagnosis that simply and miraculously disappears or “shrinks” in 6 months? Whatever Feeney was smoking, I’d like some of that so I can completely cure everyone and bring them back to baseline. Please for the love of god if a writer knows nothing about medicine don’t include it in your book..it just sounds ridiculous)

Twisty, unsettling, & gasp out loud shocking!
Right from the first chapters of the audiobook, My Husband’s Wife by Alice Feeney had me instantly hooked. The eerie off kilter world of Spyglass pulled me in, and I was unsettled, curious, and completely absorbed, dying to see how it would all play out.
Eden and Birdy’s experiences are layered with confusion, fear, and determination, and I was completely absorbed, glued to every moment of the audiobook. Even though I wasn’t always able to listen during the past week and it took me longer than usual to finish, I was able to jump right back into the flow of the story each time. Every answer just raised more questions, and I had no idea what Alice Feeney was plotting, yet I couldn’t stop listening. That tiny curiosity I felt early on ended up making perfect sense by the end, and the conclusion was completely satisfying.
✨ 🔑 Key Thoughts
🧩 Twists on twists on twists kept me gasping and marveling, including one reveal that truly shocked me.
📖 The pacing builds steadily and keeps you leaning in, especially once the second half kicks into high gear.
🧡 The triple narration by Bel Powley, Henry Rowley, and Richard Armitage added depth and tension, making it impossible to fully trust anyone.
💭 A constant sense of dread and unease hung over every scene in the best way.

Right from the first chapters of the audiobook, My Husband’s Wife by Alice Feeney had me instantly hooked. The eerie off kilter world of Spyglass pulled me in, and I was unsettled, curious, and completely absorbed, dying to see how it would all play out.
Eden and Birdy’s experiences are layered with confusion, fear, and determination, and I was completely absorbed, glued to every moment of the audiobook. Even though I wasn’t always able to listen during the past week and it took me longer than usual to finish, I was able to jump right back into the flow of the story each time. Every answer just raised more questions, and I had no idea what Alice Feeney was plotting, yet I couldn’t stop listening. That tiny curiosity I felt early on ended up making perfect sense by the end, and the conclusion was completely satisfying.
