Being a teenage girl is difficult. Being a teenage Werewolf is almost impossible. A few weeks ago I found out that I’m a Werewolf. Yup, that’s right. I tend to get furry around the full moon. Don’t believe me? Well, it only gets more fantastic from here.
You see, I’m bound by an ancient pact my ancestors made to serve with the Hounds of God. They’re like this mega Wolf pack who technically work for the Catholic Church. The Hounds have been fighting an age old battle against covens of Witches who want to claim dominion over the Earth for the Devil. You heard me correctly. I mean the actual Devil, you know, Lucifer, the Father of Lies. Yup. That’s the one. You see, the Devil, is an actual being. Not some metaphor for evil. He is a fallen angel and his minions take many forms. The Hounds of God fight those minions. We are an ancient order dedicated to protecting humanity.
My father before me was a Hound. He and my mother died fighting this battle when I was about three years old. I keep a picture of them next to my bed. I don’t remember that much about them, except for this recurring dream I have of my mom. Anyway, I was raised by my maternal grandmother, Nonna Rosa. Her son is my Uncle Vito. He and his family live with us too. Only Nonna knows the truth about me. Hard to believe? You betcha. I didn’t really buy it either until last night when I got all furry and fangy and ripped the throat out of my high school librarian.
Scary, right? But they aren’t the only things out there. There’s much more that I have yet to learn. This world is new to me. It is full of dark and dangerous things. And most of them seem to want me dead. I’m scared, I mean, I’m not crazy. But I have to survive. I just have to. To find out what really happened to my parents. And to avenge them.

The sequel is really nice and flows well with the first part. I totally liked the story line and the love between Grazi and Ronan. The budding romance is beautiful and truly touching. Grazi is the usual teenager with absolutely no confidence in herself and Ronan is the usual teenage boy with enough self confidence for both of them.
The story takes up from the previous book where they had just vanquished a possessed librarian. This book takes Grazi up on her journey forward to becoming the alpha of her Wolf pack. The dreams that she gets, the experience that she gets with white witches and so on truly takes you on a nice journey. The reader grows up with Grazi and her experience.
It is a nice read with a nice twist. Ms. Gorri does a really nice job with the story line and the flow of the book. The series is going in a nice direction. I would love to read the final part of the series too.
Hunter Moon (A Grazi Kelly Novel #2) by C.D. Gorri
I received a copy of Hunter Moon #2 to review.
This book definitely earned its four stars. C.D. Gorri put in the effort to create an original plot. The highlights for me? A believable female lead, a unique male, a fulfilling story, as part of a series, and multiple sub-plots to keep the suspense high. There are many books on werewolves now. I can promise you, you’ve never read one quite like this. Many qualities are the same, but the skill with which this book has been written gives them a new life. There are also a few surprises which I have not encountered in other paranormal novels.
Maria Grazi is a girl who has recently found out about the werewolf world. What I really loved about her was how the author has so accurately given her a voice appropriate for her age. She has uncertainties just like every teenage girl. A real highlight for me was although the love interest Ronan told her of her feelings she was still awkward in her interactions with him. I don’t know how many times I’ve read a YA novel where the male and female just suddenly start interacting as though they’ve known each other for years. Relationships take time to build to this and this novels believability shot through the roof when I crossed these scenes. I also loved how Maria questioned the workings and ideals of the hounds. This showed her strength.
Ronan. *sigh in yearning*. A werewolf story where the lead male isn’t macho? C.D. Gorri, thank you! Ronan respects Maria. Now I haven’t read the first Hunter Moon so I don’t know if this has always held true, but I was pleased to see it in this novel. Smoking hot and still reasonable. What more could you ask for? I liked the hints about how he will develop in dominance, too. I foresee some interesting conflicts surrounding this in Gorri’s future books.
I truly think each book in a series should be able to be a stand alone book. This was achieved. Of course there is a cliff-hanger ending to entice us to read more. The twisting sub-plots were interesting and while we mainly want to follow Maria in the back of our mind we are thinking about what will happen to Nonna’s debt and her cousin.
A couple of minor quibbles kept this from being a fiver. The dialogue sometimes seemed stilted and not quite real. Especially Ronans. And there were a couple of plot developments which seemed abrupt and a little forced, perhaps in order to introduce a more important storyline. These are two things which are easily fixed and would make this book perfect. I will stress that my enjoyment of the book wasn’t lessened, these were just little blips in how well my belief was suspended by the author. There was also a religious strand weaved through the book. Surprisingly, I rarely found this to be overwhelming. In fact, in most instances it lent to the books authenticity. The only two times I questioned it being overworked? At the very end, in her final prayer and when she asked the online gamer about God.
Overall, I enjoyed the characters, the original plotline and the setting. C.D. Gorri has done well to portray the delicate balance of a teenage hound trying to live in a normal world. Which is easier said than done. I’m sure I will be re-reading this book.
Recommended for lovers of YA paranormal fantasy.

I freaking LOVE this series!!!! it gets better and better ever time! C.D. Gorri if brilliant and I couldn't put the book down! the people and the creatures and awesome and the storyline is the best! I have not come across a were story that has been quite as unique as this one and I totally love it!
I love Grazi she is the best spitfire chick ever...lol...but I have to say that Ronan couldn't be more adorable if he tried! the two were made for each other and I don't know why they keep fighting the inevitable....lol....I am sooo itching for the next book already!
I loved that there was a white witch in this one that helped out and that it was seen that not all witches or all creatures were bad. I think this brought a sense of balance to the book as well as rocking the boat at the same time, as the hounds were always told that all creatures were evil besides them. I think that the next book will be very interesting indeed and will bring Grazi's character even more to the forefront of the pack as she feels very strongly for all people no matter who they are. They will either love her or hate her..lol
I am very excited to see what happens next as in this one this villains where still behind the scenes and even though there was lots of fighting and terrifying moments, the worst is still yet to come.
If you love a great werewolf book this series is this best make sure to get your copies today!
Even better than the first book, Grazi becomes more confident about her abilities as she starts to find out who she is. Life revolves around training for a battle no one will give her details about, and teenage angst, including her feelings for both her fully human ‘crush’ Sebastian, and the enigmatic young werewolf Ronan. Gypsies, demons, vampires, ancient werewolves, good and bad witches, and a young boy in danger whose identity isn’t difficult to work out all flesh out this fast-paced tale. The fact that werewolves are always hungry, and have bellies that rumble at the most inopportune moment lends a hint of humour. Favourite line was when the heroine was trying to describe what being a werewolf felt like ‘ now have a brand new LCD HD TV screen in my head, when all my life I was watching some crappy little black and white set with rabbit ears on top’. Looking forward to the next one.
( I received this book free from the Author in exchange for my honest review)
4.5 stars >.<
Oh My
I am astonished, I hardly have any words to write, my mind is a little blank, well that could also be from my cold Kj X-p
There is such an improvement from the first book. I did quite enjoy the first, but I was a little harsh in my review about the way it was written. You can read my review for Wolf Moon: A Grazi Kelly NovelHere. I won't rewrite the review points, that won't be, well, right.
From the first chapter to the last I was hooked. The struggle for Grazi to come to terms with who and what she is felt real to me. Not like most other YA's where the protagonist learns that she is paranormally special in some way (Werewolf, vampire, witch, etc...) and just you knows, accepts it. Oh hey you’re a [insert paranormal creature here].. protagonist is all like, oh I am, cool, let’s go fight stuff. That's probably a little biased of me, but you all know what I'm saying.
I enjoyed, giggle sometimes, at Grazi's struggle with the two boys she may or may not like. Though at times, I wanted to backhand her, scold her while pointing her in the right direction.-The direction of Ronan that is.-
What got me, what really made me giddy about this book is that though it has the normal school drama, boys, and all that other teenage angst going one, the plot doesn't get lost. It's always there, always in the back of Grazi's head. She's mature and knows how much danger she's actually in.
Her reaction to one of passages in her mother’s diary was perfect. Not that smashing a mirror is you know, healthy or anything, but her anger, as heartbreaking as it was, was almost perfect to the point that I felt my one hands bleeding. (Glass hurts, never hit a mirror out of anger kids, not worth it. I haven’t, but general consensus is that, sharp pointy things hurt.)
If I could slap (pinch) her aunt, I would smack her teeth in. She reminds me of own of my own aunts. She got no time for anyone else in the extended family (There's like 23 of us, cousins that is, and that's not counting their children. That's a lot of people to shun. Only thing she really works hard at..HA!!) I'm not as tight lipped as Grazi, so let’s just say we aren't allowed in the same room. And her kids don't get me started, do not wrong my ass.
Let’s get back on track shall we.
I'm pretty good at figuring out the ending of books, or the main plot, (movies, TV shots, ect...) in the first few chapters, but, though I've connected some of the dots, I couldn't connect them all. Making me happy and frustrate at the same time. I do believe (not 100%) that I have one of the crucial dots connected. I will keep that one to myself, because if I'm right, oh boy, >.<
I can't wait for the next book, there isn't a release date as of yet, but it will be out this year, I just hope it isn't too late in the year; I might just go a little mad/crazy... good times, good times. Edit: Rebel Moon is out! May 13th 2015!
I highly recommend this series; it's a diamond in rough. Take my word and take a chance, you will not be disappointed.
>I received this book from the author. Hunter Moon is the second book in the Grazi Kelly series.
>The story continues just after book one ended. Maria and Ronan are running with a wolf pack led by Maria's grandfather. Maria is learning about pack mentality and the Alpha wolf. She finds she is not forced into submission as the other pack members, though. She is able to ignore direct commands, which makes the reader wonder what exactly is she? She is also continuing her fighting abilities, along with weapon use. A new, internal threat is introduced in the form of a super wolf fighter, who not so secretly hates Maria.
>Maria begins to dream of a boy in danger. Her dreams are so real and she shares them with Ronan. Turns out Maria is something only believed in legends, a dream walker. There are some scary moments when Maria, Ronan and a gypsy friend try and discover what her dreams are. This story introduces black witches, white witches and vampires. There is quite a bit of humor, especially when the disgusting vamp is not hot and sparkly, a la Edward Cullen!
>The romance between Ronan and Maria goes through the typical teenage angst. I guess even supernatural beings can't avoid angst! The romance is G rated, but so incredibly poignant.
>I recommend this book and series for any fans of paranormal romance. The story is compelling. The characters are so well written, they seem familiar. My only complaint was the story length. I want more!!
The book 2 starts from where book 1 left off. The story continues. It is just as good as the first book and again I will say that it has been one unique werewolf series. I admire Gorri's way of writing. All the characters in this book are great and the story line is just amazing. It is a 5-star read and I'd definitely love to read more of it and recommend it to others too.
The story becomes more intriguing by the minute. It is full of surprises and very entertaining. Grazi is a teenage girl who recently finds out that she can also turn into furry creatures- she is a werewolf. It is pretty new to her and life with the pack held lots of wonders, as far as she is concerned. There is so much she still needs to learn about her father's family, werewolves and herself. It is a journey where she learns to grow and meet her destiny.
Ronan is another werewolf who also happens to he her guardian. They both learn to fight together and there is something about him that Grazi finds irresistible. Her wolf approves of his wolf too. But he might be interested in her cousin. In my opinion Ronan and Grazi deserve each other. ;)
They are fighting witches and also helped by a witch. Apparently not all of them are so bad. This makes it even more interesting and worth reading. I am happy that I read this one too as I had loved the first book as well.
P.S. I want to that the author for generously providing and ARC. My review has not been affected by that fact at all. :)
I received a copy of the ePub from the author in exchange for an honest review.
C. D. Gorri’s Young Adult Paranormal Romance Hunter Moon starts off where Wolf Moon ends and leaves the reader begging for more of this original story.
Orphaned after her parent’s death she is raised by her loving grandmother, her Nonna. Grazi has recently discovered that she is a werewolf. Trying to embrace her newfound identity she is determined to discover her true potential and all that it entails. Grazi is governed by her positive ideals and values. She is a teenager with moral fibre and integrity. Not only is she discovering herself as a young woman, she is also learning how to live as a werewolf.
The author has given Grazi a strong independent voice and her actions keep the plot moving quickly. An interesting cast of characters supports her—some human and many paranormal fill the pages of Hunter Moon. She is exposed to devils, demons, witches and even vampires as she sets off on her journey. And then there is Ronan, her guardian werewolf. This friendship is complicated. How long can they suppress their strong attraction?
Although the story has many twists and turns the author keeps the plot moving seamlessly. The skillfully written descriptive language sets the scene for each new situation.
Gorri’s Hunter Moon does not disappoint. Looking forward to the next instalment in this unique paranormal romance series.
Well, the author of this series has out done herself. I thought the first book Wolf Moon was a great read (which it is) but the story of this delightful 15 year old werewolf named Grazi continues in the second novel Hunter Moon. The book starts off where the first novel ended and you are instantly on a new and exciting journey with Grazi and her family and friends. She is trying to cope with her new life and deal with the fact that the devil wants her dead. She becomes marked by the devil and the demons, witches and vampires are trying to kill her. She also finds out more about her dead parents and has a look into their journey and how she was born. She is trying to save herself, her friends and family. This novel is an exceptional read and both young adults and adults will enjoy it. You get a look at young love, person growth, a journey into a new and exciting life and blind faith. This is a wonderful paranormal book and it is a must read....loved it and I cant wait until the next book in the series is released. Thank you Ms. Gorri for the wonderful read you have created an exciting, fun, page turning novel.
Hunter Moon is the second installment of this epic YA fiction fantasy saga. I read the first one being 'Wolf Moon' and the continuation follows pursuit with Maria Grazi Kelly, a teenaged girl whom just weeks earlier learns that she is a werewolf. This is all new to her as she thought that she was just another awkward teen trying to make it through high school but a lot has happened since then...
Maria and her guardian, Ronan, another werewolf and a good friend, are running with others of their kind, a pack on her fathers side. A lot follows suit including the incessant affection Ronan feels for her but he still needs to keep his feelings at bay in order to protect her. Both are submerged with vampires, witches (good and bad ones), gypsies, and other supernatural forces. (no spoilers). Much high powered flights serve for quite turning events as Maria and Ronan fight a mysterious war that only she seems to be the center of.
“I say your name over and over again, like a prayer, waiting for you to notice me. Dying to get this close. And here you are, a whisper away.”
This was such a good sequel that, in my opinion, was even better than the first. Usually that doesn't happen and for that I applaud you CD. I was so impressed with the character development for all of the main characters and was equally impressed with the way that plot seemed to flow in such an effortless way.
The line above literally had my heart melting. When I read it I almost threw my iPad with excitement. I loved the romance between Ronan and Gratzi but I loved that the author took it slow and didn't rush into it. I felt that it just made the moment that they did express their love to be even sweeter because of the build up.
At first I thought that this book was the end of the series but was so glad to see that there is another book coming this year! I can't wait to read it!
Grazi is more then just a almost 16 year old and new Hounds of God werewolf. She has the ability to change with out the moon, her dreams are vivid to the point it scares her and her feelings for her new family members and for Roman is growing. But she is marked and hunted down by a mysterious dark evil, her cousins are getting more on her nerves and the popular guy Shebby is a pawn. Her mother’s journal is both good and bad cuz now she can read how happy her mother was for her, the real love her mom felt for her father but when her mom finds out what her love Patrick kept from her, Grazi is heartbroken to know what her mom felt like when the secret was revealed. On top of that her wolf has disappeared for the upcoming battle and her dreamwalking abilities will get her wolf ready for the next big fight.
I received a free e-book copy of this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review... So.. It is always a very pleasant surprise when each book in a series is as good as or better than the previous... I am finding that, that is the case with the Grazi Kelly series.. The story picks up beautifully where book 1 stopped... Once again I read this one in nearly a single sitting... Hunter Moon is very easy to read... This series is definitely aimed at a young audience but I am thoroughly enjoying them... And I am well outside the young age group... Another 5 star read in my opinion... Cannot wait to read #3 and see where Grazi & Ronon end up.... Highly recommended for all age groups...
*I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review from the author*
This book continues where Book 1 stopped. I liked that the story instantly picked up where it left off, particularly as I was reading both back to back.
Grazi continues to discover the 'wolf' insider her. Her character unfolds as the story continues, she remains compelling and likeable throughout.
The author has a sense of humour, something often lacking in Teenage Paranormal Romance. Yes, there is the required amount of angst, but the relationship between Ronan and Grazi is special.
Woohoo! For the second book in a series, I felt like this actually made progress and was necessary. I enjoy the emerging romance between Grazi and Ronan, and I'm glad the stuff with Sebastian was actually explained, though I'm a bit sad about how it went down.
There are a few characters I really don't like, but I'm guess it'll be explained further along in the series.
Overall this is an easy, interesting read. I like the smooth style of narration and the mythology the author is built.
Definitely a great continuation of the first book and I enjoyed this much more than the first novel. I found the spirituality expressed in this book became much more esoteric and encompassed a great deal broader than merely exploring the views of Christianity.
The plot broadened out and developed at a good pace maintaining the reader's interest. The characters are all present including the introduction of more mature personalities giving the novel an extra edge.
I've already downloaded the next book and am holding off for a couple of reads to have something to look forward to.
i finished book number two just a few seconds ago. its was nice. not really better (or worse) than book one, but enjoyable read. it was a sequel (duh) but i did notice it was like reading another chapter of book 1, instead of a complete new book. i advice people to buy both books in one buy and read them right after each other. cd gorri is a good writer and i hope she makes it as a succesfull author :)
I rarely ever find a second installment in a series better than the first novel, but in this case I have to say I was really surprised! I enjoyed Wolf Moon and learning about Grazi Kelly's new life as a werewolf, but the continuation of that story in Hunter Moon was even better. The sequel was more action packed and delved deeper into the werewolf origin story and her family legacy. I also loved the romance aspect with Grazi and Ronan. Can't wait to read the next one!
I just loved the 2nd book as well and can't wait to see what happens next. Wow I have grown to love Grazi and everything this teenager werewolf has to go through to protect those she loves. I totally recommend this book for anyone to pick up and read. Once you pick it up you won't want to put it down until you are done with it. Author C.D. Gorri you have done it again and it is an awesome story.
I enjoyed reading this YA book. It is fast paced and has action with a little romance. The wolf packs are set up to be believable and have some history, which In sure we will hear more about in the next book.
Hunter Moon: A Grazi Kelly Novel #2 is the second book in the Grazi Kelly series. Its was amazing! It picks up where Wolf Moon: A Grazi Kelly Novel left off. This book, however, is so much more intense. Grazi is being hunted my a coven of witches that answers to a powerful demonic creature. She has to battle ancient, creepy vampires and demons. She learns that she is a dreamwalker, which means that the witches are able to reach her in both her waking and her dream worlds. They are determined to stop her before she has a chance to stop them.
Grazi struggles to get information about her family and her abilities from her Uncle Sean; but, he isn't very forthcoming,so she turns to other sources. She learns about her parents from her mother's diary. She befriends a White witch, who helps her get in touch with her inner wolf. She becomes acquainted with several members of an American wolf pack who offer to provide her information and aid. She meets a "gypsy" named Alessio who identifies her as a dreamwalker and works to try and protect her during her dream walks. But, most important is the small, battered boy being held prisoner by the witches in her dreams. Grazi knows she has to help him, but she is unsure what she can do.
This YA novel also has romance and your usual teenage angst. Grazi must choose between the cute, popular Sebastian and her loyal wolf protector Ronan. With everything that is happening to Grazi, she doesn't have much time to dwell on which one to choose. As it turns out, several brushes with the supernatural will make the choice easier for Grazi. In my mind, there was only one right choice.
So much new information was revealed in this second book. It was exciting from beginning to end. It was full of action, drama, and suspense. I couldn't put it down. I have to read the third book to find out what happens next!
Let me start with the positives. With an adept hand, Gorri has further enriched the complex and fascinating world she started in Wolf Moon. As in the first book, Maria Grazi Kelly is a Catholic High School sophomore who has discovered her ability to turn furry. In between school assignments she must now learn how to cope with pack mentality, her increasing abilities, and a budding love interest. However, her helpers don't seem to be all that helpful. It seems Grazi can't get a straight answer from her Uncle Sean or Grandfather Rolf and Cara, her new fighting instructor seems to want to permanently maim her. There's a mysterious war coming and Grazi seems to be the key. The plot is intriguing and well written. My negatives aren't enough to lower the rating but I began to hate the cutesy mental tag-on to every single one of Grazi's thoughts. At one point I decided if she says" I'm such a weirdo" one more time - I'm going to throw the book. (Couldn't really as I was reading on a kindle). I get the fact the author's trying to make her character sound like a normal, insecure teen but it was over done for me. The word 'weird' appeared thirty times and over half of the uses were in Grazi's mental voice. I also object to cliff hangers though I must admit Gorri does them better than most authors. At least she gives us some sort of resolution between characters to hang onto while waiting for the next installment.
Hunter Moon (A Grazi Kelly Novel) by C.D. Gorri is the second book in this series, and I loved it! For starters, the voice of Grazi (main character) is just perfect. Grazi is a teenage girl who also happens to be a werewolf. Oh, and she only recently learned that in the midst of some rather exciting events in the first book (go read that if you haven’t already!). Back to Grazi’s voice: it’s authentic, uncertain, funny, wise, confused and conflicted – in sum, a genuine teenager. I love that her interactions with Ronan, the guy she’s crushing on, are the way they should be for two teenagers – kind of awkward and endearing at times.
Grazi is learning a lot about herself, what with just discovering she’s a werewolf, and about her parents who died when she was quite young. She’s starting a journey to avenge her parents’ death. Along the way, she’s falling in love and dealing with some interesting family drama (of the paranormal and normal types). We get some hints about how Ronan may develop to become more dominant, which could be interesting as their relationship develops further.
This is an excellent YA paranormal fantasy. You just want to hang on and join the ride with Grazi and Ronan. The plot is complex, and it’s clear the author has a long plan in mind here. This book can standalone, as the first can, but they are stronger together. I highly recommend this book to readers of YA paranormal fantasy.
Hunter Moon is the third book I’ve read in the Grazi Kelly series, and I was sorry to see it end. What a thoroughly enjoyable world C. D. Gorri has created – familiar yet infused with magic at every turn.
Grazi is a likeable high school girl, just turning 16. She’s also a werewolf with special powers that allow her to turn even without a full moon. The werewolf named Ronan is her guardian, friend, and love. But Grazi’s world is full of challenges, like power struggles among her werewolf relatives, an uncertain history with her parents, attacks from hunter vampires, and dream battles wherein she faces an unknown shape-shifting evil that marks her as a future victim.
In Hunter Moon, Grazi’s friend Angela, whom readers might know from Casting Magic, tries to help Grazi, but she’s afraid to admit to Grazi that she’s a fire witch and that she knows Grazi is a werewolf. Those are only two of the many secrets in this book.
The plot leads up to a great battle, but the end leaves the reader hungry for answers to many questions. I can’t wait for the next installment to come out!
Highly recommended! This series would make a great gift for a teenage girl who is a little unsure of her own powers.
In Hunter Moon, the original story continues into the world of the wolf, and the dangers it, and Grazi faces as a Hound of God. There is an overall theme set to this book that I believe many reviewers and readers might miss, that really shows off C.D. Gorri’s ability. With the entire story, most of the elements are presented with dualities that make a re-read fantastically interesting. Two sides to the magic of witches. Two sides to Grazi. Two sides of a romantic interest. Truths and lies. Secrets and disclosure. Past and present. Wolf and woman. It’s all there if you read it with a thirst for a good story. And if you read it, looking for this duality, you can really see the strengths of C.D. Gorri’s ability Ultimately, Grazi’s growth seems constantly, and deliberately slowed by those around her. It is hard to know who she really trusts. Many fast paced action and romantic moments pepper the read. I must admit, I very much dislike romance triangles. And even then, I found the romantic triangle in Hunter Moon well written. The story ends with an excellent cliff hanger and a more thorough introduction to Grazi’s enemy, and another facet of the world she is just beginning to know.
As a reader of the first book I was expecting this one to be good, but instead it was great! Ms. Gorri has really improved the action and dialogue as well as clearly explaining the goal/obstacle/stakes for each character, and that’s saying something considering how good the first one was. Honestly, there are just so many good things to say. However, the ultimate strength of Grazi is her believability. I’m constantly impressed with how relatable, and true she seems. Ms. Gorri does an amazing job in these area, and that’s an impressive feet considering what’s happening around her. Werewolves, witches, gypsies and dream drama all factor into this incredibly challenging world for our heroine. But all of this fantasy was seamlessly mixed in with the daily drama that affects our lives. Family issues, the need for answers about ourselves/who we are, and of course love all exist within Grazi’s world. You would think that a person could only deal with one of these problems at a time, but Grazi’s thrown curve ball after curve ball and we’re there with her the entire time. And personally I loved it.
It took me forever to actually read this book, but it was really good! I got it a few months after the first one and I didn't remember exactly how it ended, so I had to read that one again. Yeah! Grazi has just come to terms with being a werewolf, but she still doesn't understand why she is so special. In addition, she finds herself plagued with dreams of a blue eyed boy who begs for her to save him. In this book, magic isn't just black and white. What I really loved about this book was that it challenged everything the characters believed. They were all taught from a young age that magic is evil, but they find themselves relying on it. This allowed some interesting people to be introduced. I think my favorite in this book was Alessio. I didn't like how the book ended though. There was a battle scene that just seemed like it was a little lacking in detail. It was an important scene that, even though it got the point across, it fell a bit short. Overall, I really did like the book and I want to read the next one!
This is compelling and gritty with an interesting take on werewolf folk lore. With Maria's pack, the hounds of God strongly linked with the Catholic Church in the never ending battle against evil. Much is revealed in book 2 with Maria delving into her Mother's journal, bombarded by emotions, conflicts and sadness adding to which are clashes over doctrine and beliefs which bring a reality to this werewolf fantasy. The incident between Maria, Sebastian and his friends is somber and tackled well by C.D Gerri as is other delicate and heart wrenching scenes; none more somber than the interaction between Maria's wolf with the young boy held captive. I found myself desperate for a good outcome to the boys plight. This is a thrilling and engrossing read with high stakes, descriptive fight scenes, family and wolf drama and romance. The author is clever and definitely leaves the reader with questions, such as... is there more to Sebastian's father? Is Maria right to trust White witches and gypsies? What of the boy who desperately needs saving?
