A Wedding and a Killing

Rate this book
When Mac Faraday decides to do something, there’s no stopping him … even murder!

Not wanting to wait until their big day to start their life of wedded bliss, Mac Faraday and his lady love, Archie Monday, decide to elope to the little church where his ancestors had all married—along the tranquil shore of Deep Creek Lake. However, before they can say, “I do,” the sanctuary erupts into chaos when Gnarly finds a dead body in the church office.

As they dive into the investigation, Mac and his team discover more questions than answers. What kind of person walks into a church and shoots a man for no apparent reason? How do you solve the murder of a man who has no enemies in the world? Which of the seemingly kind-hearted church members is really a cold-blooded killer?

Then, there is the all-important question, how long do Mac Faraday and his lady love have to wait to get married?

If you are looking for a book that will spice up the beginning of your book or story. Well, “A Wedding and a Killing” is a good one that does just that. Mac and his lady decide to get married in the Spencer Church.

It starts once Gnarly jumps out of the car, runs, and barks at the door, which everyone invited to the wedding for Mac and Archie. They realize that Gnarly will not stop barking to get their attention.

Gnarly seems to be trying to get their attention. When no one is paying attention, He will not leave that door. Once someone goes to the door and opens it, Gnarly finds a dead body. It gets chaotic and brings everyone from the church’s sanctuary as Mac and Archie seem in an argument over Gnarly being there. It seems to bring action when they find a murder occurred.

Who would kill a man with no enemies? Who volunteers for the church. When Gnarly finds a dead body, it brings Mac to team up with David and dives into the investigation. But how long will it take? How long will Mac have to wait to get married to Archie? We seem to get more murders and twists and turns. What happens when Ruth and her daughter get brought in. Will Ruth be framed for murder and her husband? Who killed Jason Fairbanks. We seem to have two cases that interlope, and Mac wants to help and defend Ruth.

Once you start reading Lauren Carr’s books, you will want more of them. You can read any of her books in any order and as a standalone. You will want to read more by finding one of her books or audiobooks. Great for any mystery fan, murder mystery, or even thriller fan.

It was supposed to be a quiet, simple wedding, officiated by their friend, Deborah Hess, the minister of the local church, and attended by close friends David and Chelsea. But the best laid plans are thwarted by something unexpected. Something that would interrupt their lives drastically for the foreseeable future. Mac Faraday and his long-time fiancée Archie Monday, are about to realize that even a wedding cannot be a simple event for them, not in Deep Creek Lake, Maryland.

The coming apart of the ceremony begins with Gnarly, the German Shepherd that believes he is part of the family, and even a member of the police force in this town. His furious barking outside a closed office door in the hallway, where Eugene, the head of the church trustees is supposedly working, leads to further investigation. And a startling discovery. Eugene, shot three times, and dead.

In the furor that follows, with an investigation that leads down numerous pathways, the police unexpectedly uncover another mystery: a killing that happened seven years before in New York's Catskill Mountains.

What, if anything, does that killing have to do with what is happening in Maryland? What will Mac and David and other authorities discover about their friends and neighbors as they follow every lead, stymied at almost every turn, until finally, the stunning unfolding of the dramatic mystery culminates with a dangerous stand-off in a mountain home?

As usual, the characters and settings thoroughly engaged me as I rapidly turned pages, wondering what would come next. There were so many clues to sort through that the fascination was all about trying to guess who had done what and why. Another delightful story about characters I can't get enough of. "A Wedding and a Killing (A Mac Faraday Mystery Book 8)" is part of a series featuring Mac Faraday, a former detective, whose famous birth mother, Robin Spencer, left her vast estate to him when she died. It is easy to follow the connections, as the author provides a cast of characters at the beginning. Another five star read!

I just got to say, the cover really got me. I had to look and look again just to see what it was and after knowing what the story was all about the cover really made sense. The candle and a splatter of blood, plus the church candle holder and the marriage rings….. Yup, it basically told you what the story was about. But I love looking at the cover because it can be interpreted in so many different ways.

Anyways…..this can be read as a standalone.

Finally there’s going to be a wedding!!! If you’ve been following this series you know you couldn’t wait for this moment!

Mac Faraday and Archie Monday are finally going to get hitched! Well, more like elope first then throw the huge party later. These two have been at it for a long time so it is great to see them stepping into the plate for the home run. But then before they even get to saying their vows the beastly dog Gnarly, whom belonged to Mac’s birth mother and Archie’s boss, has to go sniffing up a murder. Not entirely his fault for having such a great nose for but hey, who would want to murder a nice church going dude with nearly no enemy in sight?

And like I said it is great seeing how Mac and Archie’s relationship evolved throughout the series. They’re still learning and growing and getting used to finally becoming a family.

And of course as always, Lauren always has twists and turns in these mysteries, and this is another one of them. But aside from all the mysteries, secrets are uncovered about its church members and there seems to be lots of motives among them. Not so peaceful now is it? It was super interesting finding out and getting these evidence.

And then there’s the humor. Love it! Gnarly is just the highlight of the book. He’s the one that brings all the humor and whacky comments from. Being a dog can be tough it seems so being able to bring in the humor for being a smart dog is fantastic.

Also, did I mention that Mac’s half-brother, David, is back? Yup, he’s back and all grown up! Well, more grown up than maybe the last time you saw him in IT’S MURDER, MY SON. These two brothers are just adorable. They both have their quirks and humor and both are just amazing mates to their lady loves. And since both of them are in the police and detective work they both can also be a bit competitive in proving how well they are at don’t ng their job. It can be a bit difficult at times because they weren’t willing to let the other out best them so the competitive nature of it some what impacted the solving of the case. But don’t worry, it got solved.

And since this murder took place in a church, there were lots of religious mentions and related stuff. It’s was cool but maybe a bit unsuspecting for some. It also had a lot of info and report on counseling and couple counseling so I felt like it was telling me something major. Not just a story but for me to take from and use outside of the book in real life.

All in all, I love Lauren’s Mystery novels. The Mac Faraday mysteries are her most well known series but I love them all. They’re so much fun with its humor and twists. And I still super love how Lauren provides a character list with the names and roles in the story.

I received this book today and had to start reading it right away. I did not want to put the book down till I had finished The Mac Faraday Mysteries all have sense of humor, good suspense and enjoyable characters. A wedding and a Killing does not let you down. While this book can stand alone it is better if you have read some other books in the series. But if not they do introduce the characters in front of the story and little bit about them. I have liked them all and have read them more than once.

A Wedding and a Killing did have one scene with gnarly at the end I could do without. Had nothing to do with mystery just my weak stomach.

Mac Faraday is the main character. He inherited on the day of his divorce 270 million of dollars. He also got property that came with a dog and Archie living on the estate. He was a homicide detective in D.C. Now as a hobby he works on murders in his new town of Spencer. People are always getting him confused with a fictional character his mom wrote about.

Archie Monday was left the guest house on estate Mac received. She worked for Mac's birth mother as assistant and book editor. Now engaged to Mac.

Gnarly is a German shepherd and a very smart dog. He is also a thief. He causes a lot of humor in the book in one scene Mac and Archie are arguing about Gnarly.

"Maybe I'd respect him more if he'd stop drinking out of my toilet" Mac said

"Maybe Gnarly would respect you more if you stopped peeing in his porcelain water dish" Archie quipped.

Sometimes the humor is caused by what the Gnarly does and some time it is what the humans around him say and do about him.
Gnarly can be scary dog he definitely has his own personality. Love him but am glad he is not my dog. I have to say I liked the dog fight he got into I was rooting for the other guy. Well did have too my Chihuahua was sitting on my foot.

The story starts out with Mac and Archie having a wedding they are eloping when Gnarly went to an office and won't stop barking. No one can get him to stop. Then Mac and Archie start arguing and soon someone screams. Gnarly was barking at a locked door and their was a man who had been shot three times in the room. The plot twists and turns around multiple crimes till they find the truth.

Mac's best friend standing up for him is his younger half-brother David O'Callaghan Spencer police chief. So Mac and David were on the scene as soon as it was found, but Gnarly was on the scene first.

A Wedding and a killing has lots of action, suspense, murders, mysteries and humor and it also has mention of prayer and God in a respectful way with both humor and truth as a lot of the story takes place in a church and are suspects.

I prefer Lauren Carr's Mac Faraday Mysteries but I do like her other mystery series Partners in Crime.

I was given this ebook to read and in return agreed to give honest review of it.

I met this cute couple, Archie and Mac in Murders At Astaire Castle by Lauren Carr. This time Archie and Mac are solving two cases in the mystery novel, A Wedding and a Killing by Lauren Carr. The latter novel seems more like Christian Fiction because most incidents seem to revolve around the church and its members in Deep Creek, Maryland. I became very involved with the Domestic violence case.

A woman shoots her husband twice. Then, gets in the car and runs to the church with her daughter. The church becomes a sanctioned refuge. The policemen and detectives have no desire to drag a screaming woman out of a church. The other case involves Eugene, a church official, who is murdered in one of the church offices while counting money. Every person who knows Eugene seems to love him and speak kind words about him. He has a good reputation. Who would want to kill him? The way Lauren Carr describes his character is a man with a desire to make and keep friends. He is always willing to help the church. Who would want to kill such a good man? Sadly, this case proves all of us can become vulnerable to crime whether we deserve it or not which is a very sad state of affairs in man's society.

Both cases touch on the issue of gun control. Is a person more likely to shoot another person if a gun is available? If I were to meet Lauren Carr at one of her book meetings, I might ask this question. I bet the question would come up in a book club meeting. Probably, there would be a hot debate.

In both cases, I was surprised by the solution to the cases. In one case a Vietnamese neighbor becomes involved. I really liked Tuyon. Her appearance in the novel made me think how Cozy mysteries are rarely multicultural whereas hard core mystery authors seem very willing to involve different cultures. Lauren Carr does the unexpected. This is what makes her mysteries so good.

I am also ambivalent about calling this novel a cozy. There is a hot and steamy and maybe x-rated scene in A Wedding and a Killing by Lauren Carr. I would call it a well described sexual violence. I was surprised and made a little uncomfortable. I feel it's very important to stay within the definitions of how a cozy and a heavier mystery might differ.

I would feel very badly not to mention Gnarly, the dog. He's here again. If he hadn't been in the novel, I would have been disappointed. I Liked the part where a church member briought in hot doggie biscuits along with hot baked goods for the church members. One member almost couldn't tell the difference between the two treats. He ends up biting down on Gnarly's treat! Well, now I know Gnarly has a big appetite for sweets. I will miss Archie and Mac. It would be very hard to turn down a third Mac Faraday mystery by Lauren Carr. ( Review date Oct. 31, 2014)

Posted first to Blog Critics as Book Review:'A Wedding and a Funeral; a Mac Faraday Mystery' by Lauren Carr.

Many nuptials are conducted within the hallowed grounds and premises of the Church. Arranging the timing is often the most difficult, between the sermons, the pastor’s free time and juggling your own time constraints, the lure is still there.

In A Wedding and A Killing by Lauren Carr, we find another obstacle in play that most do not have to deal with. As Mac Faraday and Archie Monday finally decide the time is right, and schedule an unprompted wedding, they are put on hold when a body shows up. Yet this is not just any murder, this is the murder of one of the churches own. Found in one of the church offices, everything is put on hold as Mac and Archie find themselves in the middle of another murder. This one though hits closer to home, as everyone in the church is suspect, including their friend and pastor.

As the clues begin, the local police have their own ideas of the culprit. Yet Mac does not agree. When he gets his own attorney involved and the local suspect claims church sanctuary, the words begin to fly. However there is an overriding trust in Mac’s abilities that create a fissure in the storm, giving them all the time to look deeper then imagined.

Sometimes the simplest of answers are the hardest ones to find, and Mac and Archie are hot on the trail, for nothing can stand between them and their decision to marry.

This is a mystery of jealousies and wants. The deviances of those who claim to be church members give a wicked name to the exploits of their seething need. The characters of Mac and Archie remain true to our initial introduction, but those who serve the church in varying ways have the ways and means to create chaos. There is a mix of tragedy that transforms goodness into pain, and there is vileness that hides in a cloak of goodness. The red herrings are well done and take you in every direction.

As a crime fighting duo, Mac Faraday is a great character, and when matched up with his lady love, they are hard to beat.

If you enjoy murder mystery and romance you will want to find this work. Once you have enjoyed this triumph you will be looking for the other Mac Faraday mysteries by Carr. She twists in the romance so it is more about the mystery, but the romance creates a feeling of surety that makes you want more.

Mac is the illegitimate son of the famous mystery writer, Robin Spencer. He discovers this when she dies and leaves her estate to him. He was a homicide detective and his inheritance prompted him to retire and act as a consultant with the local police department.

Mac and Archie Monday, who had worked for Robin, decide to secretly get married. Just as the ceremony is about to start, his dog, Gnarly, causes a ruckus and they discover a dead body in the church office. Eugene had been counting the church's collection when someone shot and killed him but left the money behind, so robbery isn't the motive. Needless to say, this interrupts the wedding. Mac and David, the chief of police, start investigating and there doesn't seem to be a reason for Eugene's murder and no obvious suspects.

This is the fourth book I've read by this author and I liked it ... it is the second I've read in the Mac Faraday series. Though it is the eighth in a series, it worked well as a stand alone ... you don't need to have read the previous ones to know what's going on. I liked the writing style ... it was funny at times and is written in third person perspective. I found it a bit too religious (I'm not), though ... I guess that makes sense considering a lot of the action takes place in a church. Plus I wasn't buying the "whodunnit" at then end. I did like the other storylines in this book with Edna and Ruth.

I look forward to reading others in this series and others by this author.

Of course Mac Faraday can’t get married without a killer making an appearance.

Readers will find that my latest whodunit reveals just a touch of sibling rivalry between Mac Faraday and his half-brother, Police Chief David O’Callaghan. When the Deep Creek Lake murder unveils a cold case in New York, Mac Faraday rushes off to clear the name of a local citizen, while David O’Callaghan focuses on the homicide at Spencer Church.

Characters take on a life of their own, if you let them, which is a good thing. Readers, and the author, become bored of the character is allowed to stagnate. David O’Callghan has really grown since It’s Murder, My Son. When I first introduced David, he was young. What he lacked in confidence, he made up for in determination. In A Wedding and a Killing, David feels compelled to solve his case on his own when Mac starts making headway in New York—if only to prove to himself that he can.
In A Wedding and a Killing, Mac and his team discover more questions than answers.

REVIEW

Sometimes best laid plans go awry. What was supposed to be a quiet, simple wedding,

close friends, David and Chelsea and officiated by a friend of theirs, the minister of the local church, Deborah Hess. Deep Creek Lake, Maryland turned out to be a place where even a simple wedding is not simple. Mac Faraday and his long time fiancee Archie Monday found that out. It all started to go down hill when a family member and a member of the police force, Gnarly, a German Shepherd began barking outside a closed office door of Eugene, head of church trustees. An investigation begins. What is discovered? How could something like this happen in the quiet town of Deep Creek Lake, Maryland.? How did this discovery lead to another mystery in the Catskill Mountains that took place seven years earlier? The characters and settings kept me turning the pages wanting to know what is next. The author let the reader be a detective searching through the many clues trying to figure out what the answers to the mysteries were. A good read.

I was given a complimentary copy of A WEDDING AND A KILLING from the author Lauren Carr and Pump Up Your Book for my view of the book. No other compensation took place.

A Wedding and a Killing is my first time meeting Mac Faraday and Archie Monday, his girlfriend. At #8 in the series, it worked fine as a stand-alone for me, although I may have enjoyed it a little more had I known the characters longer.

The mystery is interesting. Who killed Eugene, the head of the trustees, a nice, competent, well-liked man? Of course, the suspects are all church members, several of whom have their own secrets and motives. There were several clues spread around, but the actual solving of the case had a few twists and turns. Solving the case(s) is definitely a team effort, each of the main characters contributes in some way, even the dogs.

I'm not sure if this is typical of Carr's mysteries or came up this time around because of the church setting, but I'd say this is verging on a Christian mystery. Several characters are very faithful, others questioning. I felt it was handled honestly and appropriately and never turned preachy, but I know some mystery readers like to be warned ahead of time when the mystery takes an unexpected religious turn.

I think I'd like to get to know Mac and his friends/family a bit better. I bet they grow on you.

This is the 3rd book I read by Lauren Carr and I have yet to be disappointed. She is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. Lauren knows how to perfectly spin together, romance, love, danger, excitement, mystery and intrigue into one fun filled story with a plot that has twists and turns that keep you guessing till the very end. Mac and Archie are hoots. They have great chemistry both in love and work. And who cannot love Gnarly, an over anxious, stubborn, egotistical German Sheppard. Plus, this book has a great christian element running through it, that I personally adored and want to see more of.

This book has the normal characters you have come to love in previous books, but still works great as a stand alone. You will find yourself reading this book in a weekend simply not able to put it down until you have turned the last page and then you will wish you had more!

Wow, this is the first book by this author that I have listened or read but it won't be my last, in fact I was downloading the next book before I finished this. I just loved it. I must admit I wasn't really sure going by the picture cover and the blurb whether it was going to be to preaching or if it was my sort of thing but wanted to try a different author. So glad I did and it had me questioning why was it just sat in my library for so long? I really liked the fact that there was two investigations tied up in one case and thought the author weaved the stories together nicely. But what really got me getting the next book was the characters, especially Gnarly the dog. I really enjoy animals in stories but think Gnarly and his antics put him up there with some of the best. He and his handler Mac added some light entertainment and had me chuckling away. Over all a great mystery, wonderful characters and a story you could listen to again.
Mac Faraday knows everybody wants the big expensive wedding his soon to be wife deserves but he is fed up with playing house and just wants to call her his wife. So they decide to sneak off during a lunch break with Gnarly as the best man and get the job done. The problem is Gnarly discovers a man in the church with gun shot wounds. The man does in hospital and the wedding becomes a murder investigation. He was counting the church donations but as no money is missing it seems unlikely that was the motive, then again he was beloved by all who knew him? So who killed him and why? The church cleaning lady is hiding something, an ex church member has a grudge against the church, a council member wants the church land for development but when three people come in to confess to the murder Mac and the team must work out who they are trying to protect and who the real killer is.
I liked the narrator, he seemed like he had a gruff voice but as I got to know the characters and into the story he grew on me and I enjoyed his delivery.

I really enjoy this series. Great stories with great narration. This book just like the rest of the series is definitely worth your time and credit. Even though this is the 8th book in the series, it's my 4th in the series overall. Even though I have listened to them out of order that hasn't effected my enjoyment of any of the stories. This story is no different it's just as well written, interesting, intriguing and entertaining as the rest of the books in the series. The story pulls you in immediately and holds your attention from start to finish.

Once again Mac Faraday and the rest of the group are faced with another murder and the mystery surrounding it. Nothing is ever as simple as it seems when Mac and his team are involved. There is more going on in this book than just one murder mystery. With plenty of suspense and action along with several surprising twists it will keep you guessing.

Even with a large cast of characters they are all great. They are all likable, well rounded, easy to relate to and feel like old friends at this point in the series. Each new book is like visiting with old friends. Gnarly, he's a character like no other.

Logan McAllister does a great job with the narration. He has one of those voices you can listen to for hours on end and never get tired of. You know when he's narrating a story you are in for a treat. Clearly spoken with a nice even pace. Great character voices. Both Male and Female. Perfect tone and delivery of the humor. He brings the characters, their emotions and the story to life through his narration. Very enjoyable.

I chose to read this book after receiving a free e-copy from iRead Book Tours. All opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased.

I have read quite a few of Lauren Carr’s books and Mac Faraday is the first character of hers that I read about. Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to read all of the books in order, so now I’m catching up. This is the eighth book in the series.

Mac and Archie are getting married in a quiet ceremony but one of the church staff is found murdered by Gnarly, Mac’s German Shepherd, during the ceremony. Since it’s no longer the right time to get married, they start to investigate the murder. There are several twists, more murders, and an old murder that ends up needing investigation. One murderer was a surprise, the other wasn’t.

Even though the main plot is to solve the murders, there are some sweet romances that add a lot to the story.

There are quite a few characters but there is a list of characters at the front of the book in case it’s needed, which is nice. One thing I enjoy about reading a series is the ongoing character development of all of the regular characters which Lauren Carr does well.

I definitely recommend A Wedding and a Killing. It has a great ending! If you like mystery and intrigue along with romance and humor, this is the series for you.

My favorite part of this book is the short story The Gnarly Rehabilitation Program. Gnarly has always been my favorite character (and what a character he is!). Gnarly and dogknappers make a hilarious combination.

This is the 8th Mac Faraday book and it is the one I have enjoyed the most.

Carr weaves God into this one which I found refreshing and bold on her part. You will get those who are atheists or agnostics who will criticize any author who dares bring God into the story but God is truly interweaved in every story. Most leave Him in the background, however.

Mac and Archie are planning to get married quietly now and have a big public wedding in the future. When they show up at the Church with David, the police chief and best man; and David's girlfriend Chelsea, who is the maid of honor, Eugene Newsom is found dead. He was a church volunteer who was counting the money from the Sunday service when he was killed. The money wasn't taken. Who would want to kill Eugene?

The second murder that plays into this took place 7 years prior in New York when Jason Fairbanks was shot by his wife after years of spousal abuse. Jason had also abused their daughter. Mother and daughter have disappeared and there is a warrant out for the wife's arrest.

Mac will handle the investigation of the New York murder, while David will investigate the Church murder. An undercurrent of sibling rivalry is present throughout.

So where is God in this? Reverand Deborah Hess has a great conversation with David about God working good through bad things that happen. David isn't a believer but Hess might have stirred up internal thoughts that could cause David to reexamine his views.

Good mystery with a bonus of a short Gnarly story at the end.

"... compared to the tongue of a gossip."
Mac Faraday and his fiancé, Archie, are tired of waiting for their big wedding day, still six months in the future so decide on a secret ceremony in a little nearby church. Taking only Gnarly, the great lumbering 'police' dog with them, their hopes of a quiet marriage are interrupted by the discovery of a body in the church. And the following investigations are unexpected and far from simple ...

This very humerous murder mystery by Lauren Carr once again revisits characters met in earlier books (although none need to have been previously read to fully enjoy this story). The people are well drawn to become fully three dimensional, the conversations are realistic, situations often funny and even the several dogs have real character. The plot itself, twisting and ingeneous, is almost secondary to meeting the protagonists, but still good. And as usual, narrator, C.J.MacCallister does an excellent job interpreting them all and giving each a distinctive and individual voice (although Carmine's Italian accent has to be a bit suspect) as well as flawlessly delivering the text in his deep and pleasant reading.

I very much enjoy these light-hearted stories and look forward to hearing another very soon. My only complaint? My copy seems to be missing the advertised bonus short about the big, boisterous dog, 'The Gnarly Rehabilitation Program.'

You can't fool me. If there is a "#8" in the title this might not be the first book in the series. But it was the first "Mac Faraday" for me, and I plunged right into this humor-laden tale. Alright, the beginning is anything BUT funny--an abused wife and child are making their escape when suddenly a shot (or two) rang out. But that's not the killing that interrupts the wedding.

Disclaimer: "I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review." The description intrigued, the narration was smooth with distinctive vocal characterization, and the story captivated and satisfied.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

I enjoyed reading " A Wedding and a Killing " book 8 of the Mac Faraday series.
The mystery was well plotted and while a lot was going on with many characters involved, Carr always kept firm hands on the reins and it was easy to keep track of the various plotline and characters. I love Mac and Archie and their dialogue is always clever and often laugh out loud funny.

This was definitely a fun book. There was so much happening that it muddled the murder mystery up quite well. There is a lot of abuse of women in this book. I was glad to see that these women finally got some help out of their personal hells. I have to say that the dogs were my favorite characters. Especially the police dog guarding his specially made cookies. I would definitely read more of this series.

A Wedding and a Killing by Lauren Carr is the eighth book in the series and it was another great fit with the rest of the series! In this on
Mac Faraday and Archie Monday, decide to elope at a church where his ancestors had all gotten married, however, Gnarly's finding of a dead body puts a kink in the plans of holy matrimony. I really enjoyed the wedding theme of this one and the role that Gnarly played!

Amazing narration from C.J. McAllister, smooth and sooo easy to listen to.

Mac Faraday and his fiancé, Archie, are tired of waiting for their big wedding day, so decide on a secret ceremony in a little nearby church. Taking only Gnarly, the 'police' dog with them. Just wanting a quiet marriage, when a discovery of a body in the church. The following investigations are from simple

if this were my first, it would be my last

Many proofreading errors. Most egregious? The pastor’s son was described as her daughter in the cast of characters. The Rehabilitation of Gnarly was dumb. He truly DOES need rehabilitation. It’s not cute to have him so poorly “trained.” It’s unfair to the dog.

I don't usually read the same author back-to-back but this author is one that I can. I don't get tired of the writing or the characters and I definitely enjoy the mysteries.

Love Lauren Carr

The author makes the reader excited for the next page. I have to admit, however, I enjoyed the earlier crime more than the latter. Gnarly, as always was a hoot!
