Pablo Picasso is one of the most celebrated artists in the world, and this amusing book shows his life in a remarkably original way. By featuring 100 Pablo Picassos throughout the book, young readers will explore the artist life from his childhood, to his major contributions to modern art, and from his love for pets to his endless curiosity about life. The book also invites readers to count the Picassos all the way to a 100, adding an entertaining element to discover the life and work of the great Pablo Picasso.
100 Pablo Picassos is a novel approach to the story of the great artist Pablo Picasso: children read the biography of Picasso while looking for illustrations of 100 Picassos spread throughout the book.
I loved this book! It has so much information in it about Picasso. The illustrations are very good and show Picasso throughout his life. They highlight his art style and his most famous works. There are 100 pictures of Picasso in the book. You can keep track with the numbers on the pages or with the abacus on each 2 page spread. I am working towards reading "If Picasso Painted A Snowman" by Amy and Greg Newbold, and this is defiantly a book I will use to introduce Picasso to my students!
Copyright April 20, 2015 Biography Theme: Someone can pursue their dreams, even through rough patches throughout their lives. My favorite part was when the illustrations perfectly described how Picasso felt and how he did his artwork. In my classroom, I would have my students read it with a peer to fully understand how Pablo Picasso lived because if I read it out loud to the class, it would become confusing and hard to see the many pictures drawn and words on each page.
I loved this book. Pablo Picasso is not an easy artist to portray in a children's book, but this book bridges all the difficulties beautifully. The illustrations and the overall book design make this book a piece of art in itself.
This is one of the things I tell adults...if you want to learn something new, grab a children's book! I LOVED this book. Did YOU know who drew the original dove of peace? That's right, Pablo Picasso.
