Not very good. There are only a few pages about Native Americans at the beginning. Most of the book is about the European settlers who displaced them and covers the past two hundred years of American history. The previous 13 thousand some-odd years and South America might as well not exist, as far as this book's authors are concerned.

The book was colorful and had a lot of simple information in it. I liked the use of layover and picture holes throughout the book. It allows active young learners to manipulate the book. I gave it three stars because of the information provided but I still think it can be used as a book in the classroom library to create interest in young readers. I also think it can be used in the classroom to show different text features that can be done in a book to add to the attraction. The use of the layover pages are really neat and I think the kids would enjoy this feature and can use it to create their own books using this feature.
