My name is Jonathan Vine, and I was caught up in the vegetarian lifestyle a few years back. I have to say that giving up on meat did not struck me in a single moment, nor it was a swift decision, but an inner journey that evolved within a few months. Eventually I took a final decision that the suffering of animals is my grief and my motivation.
I was always enthusiastic about cooking. For me this is absolutely one of the greatest joys life can offer. With my vegetarian cooking style, I never feel deprived of what I eat, but rather satisfied and exhilarated with each bite.
My goal is to publish books that will empower readers to improve their health and well-being through simple everyday ingredients and low fat recipes that make eating affordable, realistic and delicious.

The "book" part of this book is very short.  It begins with 8 "chapters" that are not really chapters.  They are each only about 2 pages long.  Those chapters are then followed by 50 recipes.

I make a lot of green smoothies.  For a while I was having one everyday until I grew tired of them and started to mix things up a little.  I've tried lots of different green smoothie recipes and combinations and this book has some great ones. Over half the recipes are very practical and similar to what I have already tried.  While you probably won't find me trying the Edamame Almond, Broccoli & Carrot or Gazpacho smoothies the Mango Bliss, Chocolate Fudge & Tropical Green Smoothie recipes are right up my alley.

This book is well formatted.  You can click to each recipe from the table of contents making it easy to get to just the recipe you want. There is also nutritional information at the end of each recipe.

Drinking green smoothies is the best way for me to get proper nutrition from fruits and vegetables. I constantly remind myself that making a smoothie is as easy to prepare as a sandwich, and it's a much healthier choice. My skin looks healthier and clear, and my joints don't creak and I feel better overall.

When I was offered the chance to receive this book free in exchange for an honest opinion, I could not turn down the offer.

Not only does this book outline the importance of drinking green smoothies, it is filled with 50 recipes that include naturally sweet fruit smoothies (for those not to keen on vegetables), "savory" smoothies (all vegetable smoothies), and unusual smoothies made with foods like pumpkin, sweet potatoes, dandelion greens and more, There are smoothies that are great for weight loss, detoxification, immune system support, acne, and many other conditions.

Three of my favorites are the Apple and Spinach (with ginger), the Very Berry Spinach Smoothie, and the Thai Green Smoothie. I took a chance and stepped outside of my box with the Thai Green Smoothie and I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed this one. I did not miss the sweet component at all. Rich, creamy and quite tasty.

The Weightloss and Detox Secret: Green Smoothies ebook is at the top of my list for great green smoothie recipes. They are definitely sure to satisfy any taste. These three recipes are now part of my smoothie arsenal. I drink the Apple and Spinach (photo above) quite often which is very good for my digestion, tastes great and just makes me feel good. The biggest con for me would be the fact that it is an ebook. I am still a little old school. . .I like actual books. However, don't let this sway you. Delivery is quite simple and you can access the book at any time. I'll be giving the pumpkin spice smoothie a try one of these days!

We all know how to lose weight. Eat healthy, be active — basically burn more calories than we take in. Knowing how to lose weight is the easy part. It’s the motivation, self-control and daily habits that keep us from reaching our weight loss goals. We live in a world filled with temptation, and that makes weight loss more of a mental challenge than a physical one.
Recently I was given a chance to review this ebook for my honest opinion.
I wasn't sure about it.The reason was my past experiences with smoothies which wasnt a good one.So I thought of giving it a try. I must say it was a great experience.
My mistake in the past was the combination of fruits and vegetables.
This ebook has 50 recipes of delicious smoothies.
The book explains what is green smoothie and how is it good for us.
It explains nutritional value and has a great chapter about healthy way of losing weight. It explains briefly the benefits of most of the vegetables and fruits and what are they good for.
Like Avocado -helps lower heart disease and is anti inflammatory.
Smoothies that aid in weight loss offer a delicious, nutritious way to lose weight. Plus, do you know how many weight loss smoothies there are? I had no idea that there were so many – and that so many of them were so delicious! For me, this is like a revelation, because I have a confession to make: I have a total sweet tooth. That’s where I usually fail when I try to lose weight. By implementing smoothies instead, which are filling and healthy, I'm hoping I can conquer my love of sweets – or at least send them in another direction. Maybe these smoothies that help with weight loss can help you, too!
I recommend this book to everyone who wants to be healthy and doesn't wish to starve themselves.

If you have been looking for information on going to the green smoothie diet look no further. Jonathan Vine's book on green smoothies has all you need. I found his book informative on the how's and why's of the green smoothie diet.

Chapter 1-"What is a Green Smoothie?"
He lists a variety of fruits, vegetables, nuts, herbs, and spices to make a smoothie with.

Chapter 2-"What's so Good About Green Smoothies"
Discusses the health value of green smoothies made with raw vs cooked ingredients.

Chapter 3-"Nutritional Value"
This covers the overall nutritional benefits of a green smoothie diet.

Chapter 4-"Health Benefits of Green Smoothies"
This chapter covers how those nutritional values better your health

Chapter 5-"Green Smoothies-The Healthiest Weight Loss Plan"
Explains why traditional diets fail and how the green smoothie diet will triumph for you without taking those store diet pills that have so many adverse side effects.

Chapter 6-"Types of Green Smoothies"
Lets you know what type of smoothie you should choose depending on your goal. Do you want to lose weight or are you just choosing a healthier lifestyle?

Chapter 7-"Tasty Tips"
Some greats tips and tricks to achieve your perfect smoothie.

Chapter 8-"Conclusion"
A wrap up of the previous chapters.

Then we move on to the recipes. Some of these sound and taste so yummy. I blend them and chill in the freezer to have while the hubby is having his ice cream. So pick yours up today. I'm wearing my drink blender out!

The first thing I liked about this book was the introduction was quick, fast, and to the point. Although there were eight chapters before the recipes started, each chapter would probably be the length of a single page from a physical book. There wasn’t any boring material that made me want to just skip the introductory chapters and jump right to the recipes. I read each and every page preceding the recipes. It contained information about the definition of a “green smoothie,” what’s so good about them, their nutritional value, and their health benefits. The next chapters discussed weight loss with green smoothies, the different types of green smoothies, tips for making the smoothies, and a nice rounding conclusion. After all that were the 50 most creative green smoothie recipes I've ever encountered.

I was impressed with the vast amount of recipes in this ebook. They are all simple and cheap, but no two are the same. If anything, the recipes are just skeletons, a base for which you can make your very own green smoothie. Think outside the box if you have no qualms about blending food together. I’m not sure I could swallow a smoothie with pears and an aloe vera leaf blended together (I don’t like pears, and I’m just not sure about the aloe vera leaf, I’ll just give it the side-eye), but again, any other fruits and vegetables can be substituted for them.

I got the chance to review this book on my blog in exchange for my honest opinion.

I admit when I did the juicing or smoothie I was just mixing all the vegetable and getting tired of the awful taste. But this eBook help me a lot in making a nutritious drinks without sacrificing the good tastes. The 50 recipes is a sure hit, not to repeat a single smoothie recipe within a month. I also learned to achieve good and interesting taste by using ingredients like ginger, cinnamon powder, honey and other natural sweetener (read Chapter 7 – Tasty Tips).

However, there are some recipes that were overlooked by the author and needs to be edited. For example the Kale and Papaya Smoothie, when you look at the recipe it doesn’t call for a papaya ingredient but instead for mango. Another recipe, Frozen Mango and Kale Smoothie, the author forgot to mention the Kale ingredient.

Trying the recipes from this eBook made me realized that smoothie is better when you want to go for weight loss and detox program. With smoothies, it will make you feel full compare to juicing. But I do believe the health benefits are the same. Now I can go for detox and weight loss without the feeling of depriving myself from eating.

With this not expensive eBook this is surely worth every penny if you want to achieve a glowing a healthier looking you.

When I first opened this book, I thought to myself "here we go again with the diet thing." It was not what I was looking for. However, since I agreed to review the book in exchange for the book, I decided to give it a fair trial. So my children and I went shopping for fruits and vegetables specific to the recipes. That was the first checkmark for me; I usually buy random fruits and vegetables to make a smoothie and spend so much money on a lot of it goes to waste. So having the recipes was already saving us money. Plus, a lot of the recipes use some of the same ingredients so that was also a plus.

I must say, these smoothies are delicious! I use to make random smoothies before and they were hit or miss with my children. These recipes actually have my children asking me to make them smoothies, and they know there are fruits and vegetables in them. My children would especially ask for the spinach and apple smoothie.

They are also pretty filling so I wasn't constantly hungry feeling like I was starving myself to death. I also realized that I wasn't craving sweets as much as before. Being pregnant now, I will definitely be continuing these smoothies though not the diet aspect of it.

This is a great innovative book, it captures your attention without leaving you wondering or questioning what you have read, it is very cleverly written.

I am not new to the smoothie world but i had given up as i was just getting random produce and thinking that i was doing the right thing, It was so gross and disgusting, i thought that my smoothie days were over..

This book changed it all. It gave me all the crucial information that i needed to make delicious smoothies that are VERY healthy for myself and my family.

This book gives you many tips and answers all your questions, and is packed with delicious recipes. My favorite is the Apple Celery Smoothie.

If you are looking for a healthy alternative to weight loss, acne , Health problems, this book would be amazing and work for you..

When I was offered the chance to receive this book free in exchange for an honest opinion, i was worried that it would be just another book leaving me asking questions. It was amazing with 50 recipes and they are so easy to make with multiple options.

I love green smoothies. I had stopped drinking them as often as I used to, but then after reading this book, I was inspired to start doing it again. There are some really great tips and recipe ideas in here and honestly I've tried several of them already. I may add a few extra veggies or some flaxseed to them just to make them even healthier. My 6 year old has been drinking them with me every morning. (He really loves green smoothies, which I think is really great).
I'm happy that I started drinking green smoothies every morning because not only are they super healthy---but they make me feel better overall. I drink one in the morning, have a snack, then another one later in the day, and then dinner.
I don't really have any complaints about this book except for the fact that I wish it were just a little bit longer.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed are 100% my own.

I really enjoyed reading this book! I actually had enough ingredients on hand to make a green smoothie while reading the book. It also has many pages of recipes in it for different taste and seasons of fresh fruits and vegetables.
The smoothie that I made was absolutely delicious! I am officially hooked on these green smoothies already!
I can hardly wait to have another one in the morning.
There are so many recipes that you can have 2 different smoothies everyday of the week and still have other recipes to drink.
I have seen Montel do a show about smoothies as well as others including ‘doctors’
This e-book is so cheap that it is almost free!
It could be an investment that will change your life.
The only regret that I have is that I did not do this sooner!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I've been making an effort to eat the recommended 7 - 9 servings a day for over a year and I still have difficulties meeting my quota some days. My solution is the smoothie. And this book has been a recent source of inspiration.

My current "go to" smoothie is spinach and apple or pear. I also like the surprising combination of banana, cucumber and spinach. With over 50 flavorful recipes in this cookbook you're sure to find inspiration. There are savory and sweet recipes as well as a few suggestions you may not have thought of...like parsley and pineapple. With a little planning it should be possible to have a smoothie every day. Or perhaps even two a day if you're following the author's weight loss and detox plan.

The book is very easy to read and is full of information regarding green smoothies, ingredients, and nutritional benefits. The recipes are quick and easy to follow. I like that this wasn't a regimented detox plan, just a convenient, healthy way to have fruits and vegetables with the added benefit of getting rid of toxins.
I love that there are so many smoothie combinations to try. My favorites were the mango and kale smoothie, and the kale, tomato and cucumber smoothie. I have also tried the spiced pumpkin smoothie. For the price it's a good deal. 50 recipes to try and the book isn't lengthy, so I didn't feel overwhelmed.
I received this book from the publisher for an honest review.

At first you think Green Smoothies Ewww! But I am here to help turn that Ewww! into a Yummmm! Though some of the combinations sound weird, they actually come out Delish!

If you have a picky eater, this is a great way to sneak in fruits, dairy, and veggie in on them.

The Grape and Kiwi Smoothie really came out yummy, had a bit of a soda flavor to it.

I do recommend picking up this book for your kitchen.

I'm new to the whole 'Green' drinks. But this is a good start. A lot of good information at the beginning of the book and then you hit the jackpot with all the incredible smoothie choices. Not all of them sound delicious but there are enough to keep your blender busy. I may get adventurous and choose the most unlikely recipe, there are a few of those. Glad I have this book, maybe the best move health wise for me!

This book has a lot of information in it about why you should drink smoothies, and why green smoothies are so good for you.

The really great thing about it though is all the recipes. There are 50 of them, and each of them has information about why that one is particularly good.

You are bound to find a few recipes you like.

I was sent this ebook to to an honest review for my blog, GlamRiver. I have reviewed a few other by the same author and I love how simple the recipes are and how he also gives a little history & general information regarding what it means to be a vegetarian. I am not a vegetarian myself but have seriously consider it so this cookbook has been a great starting place for me! I highly recommend it!

Oh. Ok.

First typos and grammar mistakes run amuck in this book.

I mean, it's a cookbook not a desk reference guide,  so we should let it go... right...?

Well if that was it, then ok fine. Alas, it is not. Read on...

One factoid (regarding blended food absorption) in this book comes from a survey. Yup a survey. Not a scientific or medical proven fact, but a survey.

Word on the street....?????

Then the author goes on to say his green smoothies don't have anything processed yet one of his common ingredients is yogurt. I know yogurt is not ultra processed. But still a contradiction. There is no yogurt tree that I know of.

Almost every recipe has agave or honey in it. If the recipes already include fruit I would think the sweetener in not necessary.  Plus he wants you to drink 2 of these smoothies a day. That adds up to a lot of sweetener. Agave is high in fructose. And honey has a high glycemic index, unless you purchase raw. But even that will cause an insulin spike.

Please note the serving size for the smoothies are four. Yikes. So multiply the nutritional info by 4 if you, like George Thoroughgood, are drinking alone. Or cut the recipes down by 4.

Some of the recipe names don't match the recipe. For instance: the Hemp Seeds Green Smoothie contains no hemp seeds. Not even mentioned. Nada. Zilch...

The book reads like a school science project, except they cite sources,  this book not so much. If the information was all obtained from surveys I want to know who was surveyed.

I suppose the recipes are what really matters here and I can tell you not one recipe will I make 100% the way the book suggests. Also none of the combinations are earth shattering.  I own several other Juicing or Smoothie books and this doesn't even come close.

I really enjoyed this recipe book. Some weight loss books only add in a few recipes which isn't bad but that's not a lot of variety in case there is something the reader doesn't like or is allergic to.

So many options! Definitely want to try them all!

Immediately the first thing I noticed about Green Smoothies: The Weight Loss & Detox Secret, was that it was speaking right to me, living in the fast food generation. Many of us make excuses that we do not have the time, the money or the energy needed to eat healthier. So we continue to press forward in our routines that have gotten hold of us and our health. So I, like you, wondered will Green Smoothies help me to kick my terrible eating habits to the curb? Could I get rid of the tiny, square cheese crackers, the left-over Halloween candy and black licorice? Could I make the conscious decision to fuel my body with foods that it was created to eat? According to the book, my body is hardwired to taste, enjoy & digest plant foods. Would that do it? Would my sugar habit make way for a vegetable habit? I had to try.
After reading the introduction and skimming until I found a recipe that I had the ingredients for and sounded yummy,I mean healthy, yes healthy. I made my first smoothie for weight loss & detoxing: Kale, Blueberry. Kale is an anti oxidant, is good for cancer protection, lowers cholesterol, and provides fiber. Blueberries are also antioxidants. Now for the drum roll, taste? Wonderful. I have been making smoothies with kale, but I had about 5 fruits in those and you know what that adds up to: sugar, sugar and more sugar. I chose not to put any sweetener in my Blueberry Kale smoothie.

It's too early to measure any weight loss, but I can definitely drink 2 smoothies a day and only perseverance and determination will lead to a detoxified and healthy body. There are enough recipes, 50 to be exact, delicious recipes that use green leafy vegetables, fruits and non-dairy milk or yogurt to create nutritious, filling drinks for your day-to-day menu. There should be no one who can't find several recipes to start them off in the right direction. All in all, I like this book and would recommend it to anyone wanting to stop the fast food and restore their body to what it was supposed to be. Green Smoothies: The Weight Loss & Detox Secret can be found at Amazon.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com in exchange for a fair review.

I've been making a serious effort over the last year or so to do two things: My first change was to include breakfast into my day and the second change was to increase my effort to eat more vegetables. On the breakfast front, I've won the war. On the vegetable front, um, well, I'm better but not where I should be.

I figured out an easy fix for the vegetable shortage in my diet, and that is by making smoothies. When this book was offered to me in exchange for my review, I accepted to see if there was even more I could learn about this vegetable-eating-smoothie-making situation.

The book, Green Smoothies: The Weight Loss and Detox Secret, really shared more about making better vegetable smoothies for me. In fact, I learned that a single smoothie can easily pack three or more servings of vegetables in one glass. A green smoothie is packed with the goodness of leafy green vegetables like spinach and kale because they are actually packed with vitamins, minerals and anti-oxidants. then, if I added some fruit for a nice sweet flavor, I could actually get my vegetables while drinking a sweet treat. While I've only tried a few, the book has over 50 recipes so it's going to take me a while to get through it. There are certainly a few that provide some interesting mixes such as parsley and pineapple, almond and strawberry, beet and broccoli, spiced pumpkin, and the list goes on. The book even talks about adding extra ingredients like aloe vera. I would have never thought of that! I also like that each recipe offers different variations or tips and tricks to make it really simple to succeed.

The book explains the specific health benefits of many fruits and vegetables. For those of you trying to lose weight, the book also explains how you can combine ingredients to get all of your needed daily servings of fruits and vegetables in just one or two smoothies a day. If you have one for breakfast and lunch you can easily get all you need. These smoothies will energize and fuel you through the day and they are also packed full of antioxidants which help prevent cancer, heart disease and other diseases. These green smoothies will help flush toxins in your body and stabilize your digestion leading to weight loss, and a healthy body.

This is a wonderful E-book for anyone who wants to detox their body, feel healthier and lose weight. For me green smoothies are certainly a way of keeping my commitment to taking better care of myself. I also have another motive for reading this E-book. My sons Cookie and Chocolate Chip both have gastrointestinal problems and sensory issues with food. Green smoothies are the perfect way to sneak in the extra nutrition they need. Green Smoothies: The Weight Loss & Detox Secret is packed with 50 Recipes for a Healthy Diet. You'll find delicious ways to use green leafy vegetables, fruits and non-dairy milk or yogurt to make nutritious smoothies. What I enjoyed the most about this book is the multitude of ingredient suggestions. Most of which, I would never have thought of putting in a smoothie. Another benefit to these recipes is the fact that they are quick and easy to prepare. With everything I have to worry about as a special needs parent, I welcome anything that can make my life easier.

The book also explains why green smoothies are beneficial for you health and for weight loss. For my kids, I incorporated green smoothies as a way to help them detox, which is an issue for most children with autism. They are also now drinking all the nutrients missing in their diet. If you are trying this with your kids, make sure to use a non-see-through bottle (like a stainless steel water bottle) so they don't get put off by the color. I enjoy the convenience of a quick, easy smoothie and most importantly I just want to be healthy. But I have to say that losing weight in the process is an added bonus! You and your children will enjoy smoothies such as chocolate spinach, sweet potato and almond strawberry to name a few.

I know we have all been wondering the same thing. What is so great about this Green Smoothie Craze!? Do they taste Good? Do they actually fill you up!? I was a HUGE nonbeliever at first. My mom started juicing to loose weight a few years ago, but I never could wrap my head around drinking juice made from celery and spinach! I have been loosing weight for the past year and I have been trying to increase the amount of fresh fruits and veggies in my diet to fill me up without fattening me up! This book is chock full of interesting information, and it really did answer all of my questions. I was so excited to try my first recipe! The first smoothie I made was the Oatmeal and Kale Smoothie (which is pictured above). It has Rolled oats, Almond Milk, Kale, a banana, and cocoa powder! Yep, that's right.... chocolate! The flavor in this smoothie is just BURSTING! It was so delicious that even my 16 month old kept coming back to me for another sip! The oats definitely filled me up and kept me full for hours. The next smoothie I tried was the Peanut Butter Green Smoothie. I am a sucker for peanut butter, This out of this world smoothie has tons of nutrition and flavor that comes from peanut butter, spinach, kale, chia, yogurt, almond milk, maple syrup, nutmeg, and cinnamon! It was so so good! My 4 year old had a glass! I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking to loose weight in a delicious way or even those just looking to up the nutrients in their diet! I really love this book and I can't wait to try all the smoothies! I feel great too, I have so much more energy and it's weird but I fall asleep easier at night now!
