TSG Cookbook Review I need to start eating better…I hope these recipes taste good-ish. I followed all of these recipes exactly as written unless otherwise noted.
I wasn't even sure what millet was a month ago and now I'm making dinner with it! On a quest to invigorate my cooking with more whole foods and nutrition, this cook book has helped make sense of all the different pasta and rice and gluten-free alternatives that everyone's talking about. Recipes are divided by grain, with each section header including nutrition stats, history, flavor profile and how to cook. Recipes are pretty straightforward with great photos of finished dishes. Includes entrees, sides and baked goods. It's a great resource as I learn to broaden my cooking with more healthful ingredients.
It's a good enough book to introduce more varied whole grains with a few recipes for each, but for someone who is already a good cook and uses a variety of whole grains, there's not much new. I was hoping for more.
Great book, lots of pictures of finished dishes. Great explanation of each grain, it's history, health benefits. Many of the recipes are allergy friendly
