My 7-year-old grabbed a handful of books from the Animal Stories Series and this was the first one she wanted us to start with.

A little girl meets a stray cat at a local vet that's just been hit by a car. The cat needs some TLC, but little Helena doesn't want the poor cat to be sent to the animal shelter. Where's the owner? She begs her mom to let her bring the cat home and the adventure begins!

We enjoyed the story and the illustrations. It kept my daughter's interest and was an easy read. We weren't super pleased with the ending, but it was still good. It's a story that will help young ones learn animal compassion, responsibility, and care.

This is a great animal series for kids just starting out with chapter books. We're looking forward to the others.

I love all of Holy Webb's books for many reasons one they are good and two every single book is just to cute to pass off. I have read most of her books but all of them and I love them especially this one because I am a cat person and I love reading about cats and I adore them. I really loved this book not only for that reason. I loved it for many other reasons. I loved the writing, the story line, and also how it is a short cute quick book to read in between different books. I loved every moment I got to read this book. I would read it again maybe once or twice. I would recommend this book to anyone that is looking for a quick read like of book and a person that adores cats.

This was a cute little read, and I liked the illustrations. The little girl had a bit of attitude and it was a bit boring.

My 8-year-old is a ferocious reader. She saw this book in the library, said she'd heard about the author so took the book out. It is a great little book for her to devour.

The story follows Helena who finds a cat on the road “so cold and lifeless” that she “hadn’t thought he could still be alive.” Luckily her cousin Lucy who works at a vet is with her so they take him there. The story then tells the relationship between the girl Helena and the cat through his recovery.

The way the story is written is clever in that it gives the two way perspective so you can read about the feelings of the cat as well as the girl.

My daughter enjoyed this very much and is likely to read other books in the series now.

Helena and her vet cousin Lucy find a little injured kitten by a car which they take to help.

For the kittens recovery he stays with Helena who grows fond of him and he too grows fond of her despite him not liking being stuck indoors!

We see how charity work is crucial and also the way kittens and cats don't like having casts on for serious injuries and the dangers they can run into out in the world. It also shows how lets can develop a bond to a human and vice versa as well as being a great quick read it was an eye opening moving read too.

Bardzo ciekawa historia małego kotka, ale trochę smutna, więc podczas czytania dziecku trzeba też tłumaczyć i pocieszać żeby nie popłynęły łezki.

This is the kind of story I would have absolutely adored when I was 8 years old. The Brave Kitten is the story of Caramel, a young kitten who is brought into the vet's surgery where Helena's cousin Lucy works after being hit by a car. When Caramel's owner can't be traced, Helena manages to persuade her mother to let her bring Caramel home to help her heal. Caramel, however, doesn't understand why she is forced to stay inside all day. But when Caramel manages to escape the house, the little kitten begins to realise just how scary the wide world is and just how much she wants to return to her caring new owners.
Even though I'm a bit older now, I still found myself enjoying Caramel and Helena's story and hoping that the kitten would find her happily ever after. I can completely see children aged roughly 5-8 enjoying this story too and the message about vets and what they do exactly. Although this is marketed towards all children though, I did feel that perhaps it was geared a little more towards girls than boys, with a pink cover and a predominance of female characters. This was a sweet story though and I did whip through it quite happily.

These books are fantastic, light reads for my 8 year old.

She was lucky enough to be sent all 30 of the Animal Series by the publisher for her to review. I have read two with her and they were both great and accessible books for girls her age.
