BBYA author Amanda Jenkins teams up with Tiffany Trent to give voice to the next Hallowmere heroine...
Christina wakes in a new world with no memory of who she is or where she came from. Tasked with solving a riddle that will save the duke and duchess who rescue her and take her in as a changeling, Christina seeks to puzzle out just what she's doing here and why her memory has fled.
But the riddle isn't just a key to saving the duke and duchess--it's Christina's key to something far more dire, a mission she knows she must remember, one that involves the strange young man who keeps appearing in odd places. Is the riddle a prophecy or a warning?
Acclaimed YA author Amanda M. Jenkins, in partnership with Tiffany Trent, takes on Christina's voice to determine just how much Christina's fate depends upon the answer to that question.

I have to confess that I wouldn't have read this book if Amanda Jenkins hadn't written it, as it's in the middle of a series (originated by Tiffany Trent) and I'd never just pick up book 5. But even though you're aware as you read that you're missing back story, this book reads nicely on its own; it was swift-moving, well-written, suspenseful, and had a very sympathetic murdereress/heroine on a mission (which she's forgotten due to amnesia). Oh, and a bit of romance and costumes (the setting is a fairy realm similar to medieval France)! Utter fun. I loved it when the evil prince tells the heroine that he'll "peel her like a grape" (the better to drink your blood, my dear). Wonderful writing by Amanda Jenkins from an outline/concept by Tiffany Trent. I might be unable to resist other titles in the series.
Christina is dead, Rory is dead. FINALLY! Christina has to be one of the worse characters in this series. I don't care about her longing for his love, she needed to be strong for everyone but instead was selfish. It didn't make sense that Christina was supposedly possessed by Brighde, who was a ghost, but Mara never spotted it? Then it's made to seem like Christina is the reincarnated life of Brighde. Uck IDK🤷🏽♀️
Interesting read. It was the first one of this series that I picked up so I was a little confused about some references to things and people from previous books. It was still good enough that I have gone back and collected the books in the series and am reading them now. I will let you know what I think once I've read enough of the series to form a better opinion.
Unfortunately, Hallowmere, like many other series published by MirrorStone, has been discontinued. Please join my petition to get it back at http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/c...
So far in the series, this book has appealed to me the least- just because of the ending (to me, the ending of a book can make or break it, and largely determines whether I will ever want to read it again). Sweet, but rather tragic...
Another meh in the Hallowmere series. Whats-her-face of the two souls is just as hapless as Ilona was and the story moves just as slowly. I did like DeGlisse though. He was at least interesting.
A beautiful story albeit with a few off putting turns. This was done much better than the last, but I'm still dismayed that the author quit the series.
