I am giving this book one star because the author is latine, but this is the friends to lovers I do not like.
By saying this is the friends to lovers I don't like I mean that I don't like how they revolve around this one thing that happened but they don't go into details and never talk about it. If their friendship was so strong, then why did this one thing ruin it. They were teenagers and said things and did thing that really shows me they haven't matured.
These two were teenage toxic then holding things against each other when they were teenagers. Bruh, it's been years. Build a bridge and get over it. I still don't get why if their friendship was so strong why this one thing ruined their friendship.
The fact that it is so fucking obvious that everyone is intervening into this non-relationship and pushing them together. Instead of individually trying to ask what happened or try and help them to work through their feelings and fix things they just sabotage and try and set them up together. The way the whole situations happen just make me uncomfortable, and it if had been me and my family is manipulating me in this way, I would've bad mouthed them.
I liked the Latine parts and it's the only reason I pushed through this book, but it's me. I don't like these types of friends to lover/second chance romance.

I found Caroline Frank's "Second Chance Snowmance" cute and easy to read but flawed and frequently annoying if I'm being honest. I really did enjoy the main characters, Rosie and Asher. Asher is the dreamiest book boyfriend I've seen in a long while. He's sexy, intelligent, and sweet, loyal to a fault, and pining for Rosie something fierce. Rosie has severe daddy issues from what happened when she was younger and lets that come between her and every facet of her life. UGH. She's clearly talented when it comes to costume design but doesn't believe in herself enough to take the next leap in her career. I loved the Latine representation where her character is concerned. Unfortunately, these two characters are also complete idiots who cannot have an honest, open conversation to save their lives. Everything is guarded and tense and walking on eggshells when it could be explosive dynamite, if only they let it happen. It's blatantly obvious that everyone around them, their families, are trying to push them back together after they spent a decade+ apart after what happened in high school to cause the dissolution of their friendship. If they had just talked to each other when they were younger despite their mutual baggage, none of the events of this book would have happened. I guess that's the point of a second-chance romance, but it gets so freaking aggravating to read about how no one will just have a conversation with each other over and over again. Rosie and Archer are grown up but still act like teenagers. Still, I cannot deny that I devoured this book fairly quickly. I love a good holiday romance, and the pining and banter here are both off-the-charts well-written. I liked the spice, too. If you can put all of your moral scruples about having an honest conversation aside, you might enjoy this dual-timeline, friends-to-lovers second-chance romance.

This had hallmark movie vibes written all over it, and we all know that i'm a sucker for those. I loved how there was drama, romance, banter and spice, a scoop of everything. The only thing that frustrated me was that sometimes they didn't know how to communicate. That did change as we got more into it.
Asher was a swoon worthy mmc and the biggest and softest nerd. Rosie was too sweet for her own good. Both very relatable and lovable characters, and i was rooting for their relationship.

One of my favourite parts were the meddling mothers and their not so subtle ways to bring Rosie and Asher back together.
I didn't like Rosie's father, i don't think that he was supportive, and i felt bad for all the comments he threw her way. Rosie was a wonderful and hardworking woman! A real firecracker. Show them, girl!

This was definitely okay. I loved the main characters, and I was rooting for them hard! But they really got on my nerves with the not communicating and making assumptions about how the other feels. Plus, Rosie really hurt Asher's feeling back when they were young. No wonder her did what he did...

I'm on the fence about this book. On the one hand, I really liked Asher and found him adorable...and hot. On the other hand, these two were terrible at communicating and that just annoyed me. Plus the book was way too long and seemed to drag, probably because of the lack of communicating part.
So Asher...who knew the Big Bang Theory-like character would end up being so hot in bed. He certainly surprised me with his alpha tendencies. Outside of the bedroom he was a big softie and obviously would do anything for Rosie, even give up his dream job and chance at a career with NASA.
Rosie was a very annoying character. I wasn't buying that she had daddy issues as the author made it seem at the end. Did she want her dad's approval since he never seemed to approve of her career choice? Perhaps. Did she subconsciously make all her career decisions because of her desire to get in her dad's good graces and make him proud? I was less inclined to believe that after 40 chapters of getting to know her character. She genuinely seemed to make career choices that she thought would make her happy or get her more exposure in the industry. She just gave up on a dream in Hollywood simply because it was too hard and I lost some respect for her when the obvious answer to all their 'long distance' issues could be solved by simply stepping out on faith or using those connections she made to pull some strings to get another movie job.
These two kept their feelings about each other, their potential long-distance relationship concerns, and their careers secret. They didn't discuss the hard things, except the past. Speaking of the past, ugh, they had one fight one night after graduation and they immediately reacted as stupid teens do and decided they had no future together. Was the timing incredibly poor? Sure, but they had been best friends for years. To throw it all away because of words said in anger and never reach out to the other to make things right just showed the level of maturity they both had.
The ending needed an epilogue. So much was said about their careers and how they'd make it work. Yet the author doesn't give us any of that resolution at the end. It just ends with them talking about their plans for the future. So we're told they have plans, but we're not shown. After 40+ chapters, I needed that closure to make this worth the time spent reading.
I've never read this author's books before. Would I read another one? Perhaps. It wasn't terrible and I did like some of the characters, I just wasn't a fan of the teenage-like drama and lack of communication from two 20 somethings.

This was an interesting read tbh! Rosie and Asher were both a hot mess, together and individually. I spent most of the book wanting to shake some sense into them. I did enjoy the Latinx representation though and the sprinkling of Spanish lateree throughout the story.

This was a fun, cute childhood friend's to lovers. Asher is such a cute nerd, and Rosie is outgoing and spunky! they were perfect for each other and I kept saying get together already!!!

I wanted to love this book but I’ll be honest, it just was not for me. I was enjoying the story and the character’s potential in the beginning but the FMC became so unbearable that it was a struggle to get through.
Plot: ⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶️🌶️
Second Chance Snowmance is as the title would lead you to believe, a second chance romance between childhood best friends, Rosie and Asher. They loved the other but didn’t make it known until they were 18. After they have sex for the first time, Rosie gets in a fight with her father about her life choices and that leads her to completely blow up on Asher. They don’t speak again for 9 years, that is until Rosie is forced to come back to Colorado for her sister’s wedding.
Upon seeing each other again, they’re immediately hit with the same old attraction and feelings start coming to light. Along with explanations of why Rosie and Asher acted the way they did 9 years ago.
The story took a downturn for me when they started to acknowledge their current feelings for each other and Rosie second guessed EVERY SINGLE INTERACTION. She was also incredibly dense about every conversation they had. I have examples:
”Cards on the table, Rosie? I’ll take whatever you’ll give me.”
“What are you saying?”
“I’m saying that I don’t want to be just your friend or your neighbor. I want us to be together.”
“I’m going to need specifics here.”
Girl, WHAT?! How much more specific can he get?
In the same conversation he goes on to tell her all the boyfriendy type things he wants to do with her but finishes it off with saying, “or we can go back to being friends. To talking. To being in each other’s lives.” Basically telling her he’ll take her anyway he can get her (again). She immediately ignores all the romantic stuff he said and is like, “Friends? You want to be friends?” 🤦🏻♀️ It was like she was being intentionally dense.
In another scene she freaks out about his use of the words “hanging out” when he says, “I don’t want you to get in trouble again for hanging out with me.” She has a panic attack about the uncertainty of their relationship a page later. It was just very chaotic behavior over very innocuous things that could have easily been talked out.
Asher wasn’t completely innocent in the dumb behaviors though; him wanting to give up his NASA fellowship (his lifelong dream) for Rosie was just crazy. It screamed desperate and made him so unattractive.
I personally felt like the story could have been so much shorter and resolved with communication between these two. Instead it was long and drawn out, which is kind of crazy because the author note said she cut out a lot of the story 😱
So this wasn’t my cup of tea, but if you like second chance with miscommunication, this could be the story for you!

There’s so much to love about this story!
Set over Christmas, centered around the festivities of a family wedding with cute meddling mothers, and focused upon childhood friends-to lovers-to enemies-to lovers (to enemies to lovers again?) second (and third) chance romance - there’s a LOT going on, but it’s a great set up.
Rosie has mostly avoided going home since she took off after high school graduation to pursue her dreams of fashion design. She’s especially avoided her childhood best friend, and greatest love, Asher, after breaking his heart. But they both wind up at home this Christmas for her sister’s wedding. They simultaneously avoid each other while also feeling the pull towards each other. And their meddling best friend moms keep pushing them together with all of the fun wedding activities. Of course they’ll get together. And it’s great and emotional and steamy. But their careers still have them in different places. Ugh! The miscommunication is infuriating! And so is Rosie’s unsupportive dad. Is it going to be all over again before they ever really get started?! Or can their love find a way this time?
There are a lot of characters and several side situations (like closing down a family business, a sister’s troubled marriage, and big career choices) that add a bit too much around the central focus of this story. I love that the author got wrapped up in this world, but I think the book could’ve been trimmed down more. But there are plenty of cute and sweet moments. It took me a while to get invested in the story, but I felt the highs and lows and frustrations along with the characters. The ending seemed a bit rushed, but by that point it needed to be over. I would’ve enjoyed more happy relationship moments (that weren’t just physical) and less frustration. But I’m glad there was finally the hope of a HEA. Even though this storyline takes place separately from the previous books in this series, I did appreciate the tie in. It can definitely be read as a standalone, but has a connection to the series.

They simultaneously avoid each other while also feeling the pull towards each other. And their meddling best friend moms keep pushing them together with all of the fun wedding activities. Of course they’ll get together. And it’s great and emotional and steamy. But their careers still have them in different places. Ugh! The miscommunication is infuriating! And so is Rosie’s unsupportive dad. Is it going to be all over again before they ever really get started?! Or can their love find a way this time?
There are a lot of characters and several side situations (like closing down a family business, a sister’s troubled marriage, and big career choices) that add a bit too much around the central focus of this story. I love that the author got wrapped up in this world, but I think the book could’ve been trimmed down more. But there are plenty of cute and sweet moments. It took me a while to get invested in the story, but I felt the highs and lows and frustrations along with the characters. The ending seemed a bit rushed, but by that point it needed to be over. I would’ve enjoyed more happy relationship moments (that weren’t just physical) and less frustration. But I’m glad there was finally the hope of a HEA. Even though this storyline takes place separately from the previous books in this series, I did appreciate the tie in. It can definitely be read as a standalone, but has a connection to the series.

Caroline gifted me a copy of Second Chance Snowmance and immediately I knew I was going to love it!! I listened to the audio, and it was perfection for the story.
Rosie and Asher grew up together, being best friends until a falling out… years later Rosie tries to meet up with Asher to reconcile things only to find him kissing another girl at their spot. Unable to confront him, she leaves only to find out he’s attending her sisters wedding in Colorado, and they will be spending a lot of time together during the days leading up to the wedding, and some meddling between their parents.
The second chance, secretly in love with my best friend but never saying anything back then, the fear of them giving up their dreams for each other - was so good!! And so cute. The meddling their mother’s played to get them to partner up in a challenge and to spend more quality time to push their relationship along was so pure, I loved the support they had. Definitely a cute holiday time read but would be perfect at any time!!

This was a very cute winter/holiday read, and it was a good one to start the season. this is a childhood friends to lovers, second chance romance that was heartwarming. we have meddling mothers, spice, anxiety/panic attack rep, and total "the one who got away vibes". I thought that the second chance romance was done well, and the way the author pulled in their backstory together worked well too. I was pretty happy with it. Other than our main characters, I feel like the author did a good job of giving Rosie's sisters a platform and story too. Her sister Andrea is getting married and starting her new marriage, while her older sister Diana has been married and has been having relationship struggles with her husband. All three sisters were in different stages of love/relationships and it was nice how the author brought these sisters together to support each other. Rosie and Asher's story really came full circle and they both learned to live independently to ultimately come together and be happy. This was altogether a really enjoyable read that delivers on a wholesome romance that makes your heart happy.

There are lots of things to love about this book. Friends to lovers, second chance, small town, family dynamics, Christmas vibes. I loved all those things. I also loved Asher and his nerdy-sexiness and just all around sweetness (and spiciness in the bedroom too). I liked Rosie but didn’t love her or feel as attached to her as I did Asher, not sure exactly why but there it is.
My biggest hang up though and what made this more of a 3 star book than a 4 star book for me was the length and some of the repetitiveness in the plot. Particularly revolving around the miscommunication trope happening of does she/does he love me/want me as much as I want him/her… it just got a little frustrating.
That aside I liked the story and think it’s got some great humor and steamy scenes and funny family moments to laugh over. For me, the miscommunication was just too much and it read a little too long for my taste.

First book by this author && geez.. I’m so sad it took me so long to find her. I absolutely LOVED this book. Asher && Rosie were everything my heart needed this Christmas season.
I could say so many things about this book.. but the love && passion between these two just needs to be read. I felt every heartbreaking thing these two went through. I laughed, I smiled, I cried.. it was all worth it. I only wish we would’ve gotten a little more in the end. An epilogue or something. We went through so much for these two to be together, I just wanted to see them fully together living the life they fought so hard for.
All in all, I cannot wait to read more from this author!

Caroline Frank’s third book in the Seasons of Love series is by far my favorite of the stories! I loved them all but this one was just PERFECT! I really enjoyed the small town romance set in the mountains of Colorado.
Asher and Rosie were best friends growing up and always had a secret love for each other. One fateful night they gave it a shot and the next morning hell breaks loose for Rosie. She walks away from her first love and never looks back. Years later and they end up back home at the same time. Will their story ever make it?

2.5 ⭐️ rounded up to 3. This one fell flat for me. I really struggled. It took me forever to finish. I wanted to DNF but pushed on. I wanted to love Asher and Rosie. There was so much back and forth. Miscommunication. It was honestly annoying. Especially knowing it was gonna be a HEA.

The story was good. What I couldn’t get past was how much anxiety the FMC had over the never ending “is this a relationship or what is this” scenario. I don’t know how many times Asher sensed something was wrong and had to ask her over and over what she was thinking. Maybe if the ratio was more happy moments and less stressful worry it would have been more enjoyable.

Omg this book was everything!!!! Asher and Rosie were perfection and everything about their story was fantastic!!! That third act though had me in tears and pulled at all my heartstrings that I couldn’t wait for the ending! And what an ending seriously my favorite Christmas romance thus far!!!

This is the sweet tale of what happens when two childhood best friends fall for each other. This book sucked me in from the very beginning. There are so many sweet moments, and so many moments that make you want to reach through the pages and tell the characters to behave.
This was a very fun read! And I definitely recommend it!

I'm going on a little rant in this review. Hence, I must apologize in advance.
My first read from this author. It was enjoyable, here and there, I liked the writing style, didn't observe any mistakes etc. The miscommunication trope was overly done, the book was at least 50 pages longer and I'm still salty that the MMC did not grovel enough (or at all actually) because he did not acknowledge his mistakes, because he definitely should have fight for her!
I understand, partially, their fight and over the top reactions when they were 18. But to not speak for 9 years? And they loved each other the entire time. No, just no! He knew what type of person her father was, and after a few months of thinking things through, because hey, he is a brainiac, he should have opened his eyes and decide for himself that it was not her fault and neither his, for whatever happened after graduation. Anyway, I don't understand how they couldn't even text, call each other, etc. for 9 fuckin' years. On the other hand I understand her a little bit, what happened that first year, on new year's eve, auch, I understand why she was so hurt. But still, 9 years, can't get over that, haha.
I liked and did not liked the main characters, in the same time. I liked mostly the MMC, until he blatantly decided not to fight for her, and he blocked her!! Look, I don't care what she said/done etc., especially in their situation (nothing extreme was done), you love her as much as you say you do, you FUCKING FIGHT for her! For the relationship you so much want! With EVERYTHING you got!
The FMC pissed me off with how much it took her to see that she does not have to always please her father. She decided to do something for herself and pursue what she wanted in college, but in the end, she still searched for his approval.
For such a long book, it missed an epilogue. I want to be greedy and say it missed maybe two epilogues!! There are authors who are doing second epilogues after a certain number of years. Such a long book about this couple and their history since they were teenagers and we do not have even a single epilogue!! Disappointed.
The main star of this book is FMC's friend, Barbara. It seems that she was the only one thinking straight and on point. The FMC's father, though, is a pos parent. What a toxic parent. I don't care what he sacrificed for himself and his family. I don't understand how a parent says he loves his daughter but also throws her twice under the bus? I'm a parent, and I would never!!

Caroline Frank really had us on the edge of our seats till the very end to see if our couple was going to get their Happily Ever After, but man was every bit of tension, banter, second guesses, and angst worth it!!
I beyond enjoyed this cute christmassy second chance romance!! We are pretty much immediately dropped into a pot of boiling tension between two best friends who after high school had a pretty intense falling out… skip ahead 9 years and after doing their best to avoid each other they’ve been thrust back together to enjoy the holidays as their families come together for Christmas and a wedding. Between the cute Christmas gifting, the snowman building, stargazing, spicy moments, and even the angsty tension Frank delivers a story that will have even the most skeptical of romance readers flipping pages to see if these two can get it together!! All while rooting for two amazing characters!! Rosie or Rosario are MFC is a sweet, and caring women with an affinity for fashion and the color pink. Who is also struggling with finding herself in the world while feeling like the black sheep of her family, and just trying to do what’s right for those around her and herself. Rosie’s opposite is Asher, our MMC who is a bit nerdy, obsessed with the universe and getting ready to graduate with his PHD, but altogether a man who cares deeply for those he loves and always there to offer a helping hand to those who need it!
