Five Weeks is book three in the Seven series by Dannika Dark. I loved Ms. Dark’s Mageri series and really enjoyed the first two books of this series. But, I have to say that I think this third book is my favorite of the Seven series so far. I loved Izzy and Jericho and also loved revisiting the characters from the first two books.

Jericho Sexton Cole lived for his pack and for his music. He left the rock star life behind, along with his drug habit. But he still lived the crazy life of a musician. Women threw themselves at him, he could have any he wanted. But there is one woman from his past that still haunts him. The only woman that really ever meant anything to him, Izzy.
Isabelle Marie Monroe, or Izzy, has lived a lonely life. Her own family never accepted her. She has never had a pack. The five years she spent with Jericho were the best years of her life. But that was in the past. She needed a place to stay so it was so easy to fall in with Hawk. He was good to her and said he wanted to take care of her. But there was a side to Hawk that Izzy didn’t know about. He was involved in some bad things, things Izzy could not forgive. Right when she needed him the most, Jericho re-enters her life. The bond is still there, but a lot of years have gone by. Can they forgive each other?
Because of what Hawk has done, now Izzy is in danger. Jericho wants to be there for her, but his family is afraid that Izzy will hurt him and that he will go back to the way he was in his darkest time. But Jericho knows what he feels for Izzy is real. He just has to prove to her that he is a different man now, the man she can depend on. The man she can love.

I really loved this book. As I said before, I think this is my favorite of this series so far. Izzy and Jericho together were so fantastic. And the chemistry, Oh…My…Gosh!!! It was off the charts. Izzy found herself in some serious trouble when Hawk’s enemies came after her. So there was plenty of suspense and danger involved. Jericho was tough and protective but at the same time, oh so sweet. The lyrics he wrote for her were so touching.
“My breath caught. The crowd vanished, and I gravitated toward a man who sang into a microphone that connected to my soul.”
I seriously could not put this book down. I am getting attached to these Cole Brothers and their Weston Pack. Dannika Dark, you’ve done it again, writing an awesome book with sweet romance and heart stopping suspense. If you enjoy shifter books, I hope you’ll give this series a try.

4.5 "Second Chance Friends to Lovers" Stars for the story and 5 "Rock Star Performer" Stars for the narration!
I just can't seem to get enough of the Dannika Dark's and Nicole Poole's fabulous author/narrator team! Having now listened to the first 3 titles, over just a few short weeks, I am officially hooked on the Seven Series!
Five Weeks is a second chance romance between best friends turned lovers with the added twist that it involves two wolf shifters. Those of you who have read the first two books of the Seven Series have already been introduced to the hero, Jericho. If you haven't yet read Seven Years or Six Months, however, don't fret, as the guts of this story, both the romance and the immediate danger that drives the action and suspense, is fully contained within this book.
Jericho, one of the Cole brothers in the Weston Pack, is a somewhat rebellious, former famous rock star, now more of a local musician. This change in status is not necessarily something he wanted, but something he was required to implement in order to potentially deflect any suspicion arising from his slower aging due to his shifter genetics. This along with certain other factors of his past, which are explored in Five Weeks, have led to his addiction issues with drugs and sex. Of all the Cole brothers in the Weston Pack, given this history, it will not be much of a surprise, that Jericho is the one that is the most estranged from his family, preferring to keep himself, his music and the flock of groupies that are constantly seeking his attention. Then the reentry into his life of the one woman that he believed he would never see again, forces Jericho to reevaluate everything he thought he knew from the past and wanted from his future.
Isabelle "Izzy" Monroe has always been an independent woman. Having never belonged to a pack, preferring to enjoy life as a "rogue" wolf, she has always found a way to care for herself and get by. At one time, she had achieved that with the help of her best friend, Jericho, but one night of passion and betrayal changed everything. Today, she has a new boyfriend. One who though she could never feel the same for, claims he wants to provide for her, but has secrets of his own. It's been decades, and she has decided she has to try to give settling down a shot. So imagine her surprise, when shortly after moving into her new life, she finds out that none other than Jericho, and his band "Izzy Monroe", are the main act that play at the bar that she has just gotten her new job at.
Slowly, little by little, revelations from the past start coming to light causing Jericho and Izzy to question just what happened so long ago. Meanwhile, concurrently, factors appear to arise putting in question just where her future is headed. The one thing that is clear, however, is that the passion that consumed Jericho and Izzy once, is still ever present. However, when Izzy finds herself in the cross-hairs of a dangerous situation, will they even get the shot to explore what they thought had died so long ago?
Nicole Poole renders another thoroughly enjoyable performance in Five Weeks. An essential hallmark of a great series is continuity of characters. Not only their personalities in the written form, but also their voices when it comes to an audiobook. Sometimes even the smallest roles in prior books can become the central players in later ones. Ms. Poole's ability to maintain consistent voices for this large cast really made me feel like I was settling back into listening to a favorite long-running TV series or the like; allowing me to completely enjoy the story.
Ms. Dark's ability to render different, character appropriate voices for each member of this plentiful cast is magnificent. Not only do the male characters sound genuinely like men, a factor which is not always achieved by female narrators, but each one also has its own unique intonation allowing for easy differentiation.
Jericho, for example, easily passes as the rock star he is supposed to be. His rebellious nature and nonchalance, key characteristics of his persona early in the story and in the prior books, are also evident from just Ms. Poole's characterization. When the time calls for it, however, Ms. Poole is also able to imbue Jericho's character with a distinct tenderness and somewhat vulnerability as it relates to his special relationship with Izzy, while at the same time bringing out a noticeable fierceness when it's time for his protective alpha wolf to make an appearance.
Izzy, in turn, can be easily distinguished from the prior heroines, and sounds like the free-spirit, independent woman she is supposed to be. I love how, Ms. Poole even varies Izzy's voice to sound more purposefully sexy when she is waitressing, convincingly portraying the sex appeal card that Dannika Dark writes into Izzy's role as being an essential characteristic towards generating higher tips. This huskier sounding Izzy also comes in handy in later scenes when Izzy and Jericho are rediscovering their chemistry.
From the youngest character, Maize, the child sister of Lexi (the Book 1 heroine), to the more mature ones, like Lexi's mother, Ms. Poole knows just how to bring to life the characters that Dannika Dark has created in this vastly creative and diverse world!
All in all, I really enjoyed both the storyline and the narration in Five Weeks. I have to admit that Jericho was not my favorite character going in, but as I am determined to read this entire series--and with Lorenzo's story coming up next (an ultra sexy rival pack leader who we first meet in Seven Years and whose story I have been salivating for since reading Seven)--I decided to listen to Five Weeks with an open mind. Well I have to say that, Dannika Dark once again has impressed me with her great writing skills as she was able to craft so much more depth to Jericho's story than what I was expecting. He is by no means, just your stereotypical rock star, and I loved his protective instincts when it came to Izzy. Izzy likewise was a very interesting, and different type of character, from the prior heroines, proving that Ms. Dark has a limitless supply of creative wit! I can't wait to hear what adventure Ms. Dark takes us on next in Four Days, book 4 of the Seven Series!

5 Five Weeks Stars
Jericho and Izzy… These two wow, their chemistry is off the hook.
I think their past has a lot to do with it. But it is the here and now that make them solid.
They go through a lot of ups and downs and trust is a huge thing Izzy needs to feel. But it’s not easy people don’t always come through for her.
But once she takes the leap she is golden. And Jericho has to trust to not only her but his pack that they will do what is best for him and for her. I like that they communicated and sure there was drama but it wasn’t forced it was just because of the situation.
Jericho changes the name of his band in the book to Heat and I think that describes this book to a tee. Its HEAT, from the action to the romance.
It’s a great addition to the series and I love re-listening because Nicole kills it with these characters the gravely voices the female voice I am a FAN!

This was one of those sweet stories
I liked the characters, I loved their chemistry and how you could see them evolving during this book, something I am beginning to expect when reading Dannika Dark.
What I didn't really enjoy was the fact that it focused too much on their love story (ok ok, I know that was the whole point but still!). I mean, I like my romance, but the only way I can love it is if it's within a good plot, something to keep me hooked up and crazy about the book.
Don't get me wrong, it did have stuff going on and it wasn't boring, but that's due to the great writing style, not necessarily the good plot.
Ah well, they can't all be great I guess. Still, a pretty good shifter book, worth trying if you're into that.

This is the third book in the Seven series, which centres around a family of wolf shifters. Each of these books is a complete story and can easily be read as a standalone, but of course the full dynamics are best appreciated when you read the whole series. Fast paced with an interesting storyline, a bit of action, great characters, a fantastic friends-to-lovers storyline and a strong paranormal element, this is a really great read.
Izzy is a bit of a lone wolf (*snicker*), and after an awful childhood she travelled the country, moving from town to town and taking menial jobs to make ends meet. She is strong and tough, and knows how to protect herself and I love her down-to-earth, take-it-as-it comes nature. She is finally looking to settle down, and has moved in with her (somewhat shady) boyfriend and taken a job waiting tables at a local shifter bar, and it’s there that she runs into her best friend from years ago, Jericho Cole.
Jericho is one of the Cole brothers that have been previously introduced in the series. He is a bit of a loner, with a secretive past so we don’t really know much about him, and I loved the opportunity to get to know him better! He has a dark past involving drug addiction and a long separation from his family, but he is back in the fold now. He is the rocker of the family, but due to his need to keep a low profile so that people don’t notice that he doesn’t age, he is fairly low key and he and his band play local bars. Sexy as all sin, he never has any trouble finding women, but from the moment he sees Izzy again, everything changes for him.
Izzy and Jericho shared a past together when they were both at the lowest points in their lives and aimlessly wandering. They hooked up and travelled together for years, becoming the best friends. They both had feelings for each other and just when things started to get interesting between them, one night of betrayal tore them apart and they haven’t seen each other since. There’s a lot of anger from all that went down between them, and it takes them a while to work through it all, but their attraction is strong and neither of them can deny the pull between them.
This is such a great romance. I was genuinely surprised by the intensity of the love story and how invested I became in these two. Jericho and Izzy are both no-nonsense kind of people, and they are up front and honest about everything that is happening between them. They acknowledge it, the accept it and they go with it (and holy hell, it’s hot!). Their chemistry is sensational and as they unravel everything that happened in their past, they fall hard for each other. Jericho in particular is fantastic as a man determined to win his girl over, and I loved his maturity, sensitivity and patience in pursuing Izzy, while never holding his own emotions back from her. It's a delicate balance, and he does it brilliantly!
But Izzy is in a whole heap of trouble – dangerous trouble that threatens anybody that she gets close to. Jericho is fiercely protective of her, and wants nothing more than to claim her as his, but his pack are hesitant to become involved, and Izzy herself has issues she needs to deal with before she can give herself to Jericho completely. It’s exciting and suspenseful, and the way it is dealt with keeps the angst low while we eagerly watched it all unfold. The story moves at a great pace, and the mix of romance, action, lightness and drama was spot on, and I was engrossed the whole way through.
I really enjoyed this book. Definitely my favourite of the series so far, and I’m looking forward to continuing on.

After all these years, I still felt something for him. My traitorous heart leapt against my chest, despite the fact it still carried a scar. Jericho and Izzy are both no-nonsense kind of people, and they are up front and honest about everything that is happening between them. They acknowledge it, the accept it and they go with it (and holy hell, it’s hot!). Their chemistry is sensational and as they unravel everything that happened in their past, they fall hard for each other. Jericho in particular is fantastic as a man determined to win his girl over, and I loved his maturity, sensitivity and patience in pursuing Izzy, while never holding his own emotions back from her. It's a delicate balance, and he does it brilliantly!
But Izzy is in a whole heap of trouble – dangerous trouble that threatens anybody that she gets close to. Jericho is fiercely protective of her, and wants nothing more than to claim her as his, but his pack are hesitant to become involved, and Izzy herself has issues she needs to deal with before she can give herself to Jericho completely. It’s exciting and suspenseful, and the way it is dealt with keeps the angst low while we eagerly watched it all unfold. The story moves at a great pace, and the mix of romance, action, lightness and drama was spot on, and I was engrossed the whole way through.
I really enjoyed this book. Definitely my favourite of the series so far, and I’m looking forward to continuing on.

I liked Izzy and her independent streak. It must have been so hard being around Jericho, her best friend and having a front row (pun intended) seat to his self destructive behavior.
I am shocked that she moved in with such a douchebag like Hawk, a guy that she knew nothing about, not even his birthday. I felt like she was using him for a place to stay and he knew that so he took liberties and was using/grooming her as well.
Jericho's brothers and band treated Izzy with disrespect. And how Jericho would say that Izzy was his best friend but believe she would rob him and leave him for dead in the state he was in, just boggles my mind. Wheeler and Denver, while protective of Jericho, didn't have to treat her in the way they did so I didn't really care for them in this book. Packs can protect their own without browbeating a lone shifter.
This book had various shifters, bear, eagle, deer etc. I like the variety. I also liked the bar where Izzy worked. IT gave it an MC feel at the same time it had a Rock romance feel.
At the end of the day, Izzy and Jericho made this story entertaining. I do like that they found their way back to each other and that Jericho worked to maintain his sobriety. He sounds like a much better person without the ugly side of his rock star lifestyle.

I'm not much into rock star romances, but Dannika Dark's Five Weeks has many more components than the standard rock star meets sweet girl story. First off, it's about shifters. Thumbs up! Second, the heroine Izzy may appear sweet and fragile, but she's anything but. She calls herself a "wild weed" versus a "dainty flower" and I loved that!! Third, Izzy and Jericho are not meeting for the first time in this book. That was a nice change. They have a history: some good, some bad, but it was a nice friends-to-lovers addition. They have a beautiful bond and it is obvious to readers that they should be together. Fourth, we've got some thriller/suspense going on. As with most of the books in this series, danger comes lurking for the heroine at some point and the situation Izzy was in had me on the edge of my seat! And last but certainly not least, we get to see a female in heat. It's a weird concept to discuss so casually but these are wolf shifters and wolves go in heat...so I've been told. The "female in heat" thing has been referenced in the previous installments but this one actually gets down and dirty...pun intended. I would still refer to Five Weeks as a light paranormal romance though since the "romance" is not the focal point and the scenes are not as explicit as what you may find in your typical paranormal romance, but I give the one in this book two thumbs up!

Had to take a break at 75% because it was getting wearying how Jericho's brothers in the Weston pack took turns treating Izzy like she was some kinda crack wh*re. I mean, these are supposed to be Jericho's family, but they are anything but supportive. The women in the pack are either ditzier than usual or not around when their opinion was needed...

Well I finally finished it. I had hoped it would get better but it was ultimately very disappointing. It's a good thing I didn't read the series in order or I might have stopped with this one. The next book was much more romantic. Even the parts with Izzy and Jericho in book 4 were more romantic than anything in this book!
Izzy and Jericho knew each other 20 years ago but kept it to friends. She gets him off the drugs and into his music. I think Izzy wasn't ready to trust her heart with another back then, especially not a man-ho. When Jericho finally sees Izzy for what she is to his heart, he blows it in a big way. There were extenuating circumstances, but it was ultimately his fault. So she leaves him and doesn't see him again til 20 years later. By then Jericho has buried his feeling so deep in groupies, booze and weed, that it seems hopeless. Besides, Izzy isn't alone but is living with another man. It especially doesn't help that Denver spreads lies about Izzy. He's the first of the brothers to be mean to her. Things turn very ugly in Izzy's personal life. Everyone blames her, (even she does for crying out loud!!!), and only Jericho is there for her. Well not at first. At first (for just over half the book) he is a complete ass to her as well. Not romantic... nope. Aggravating, frustrating, yes.
The next book for me is 6, Denver's book, and I gotta say, I am not looking forward to reading a book about that irreverent asshat. Although he IS the only one who actually apologized to Izzy.

Five Weeks, third book in the Seven Series of Dannika Dark
Well I like Izzy & Jericho’s story better than the first 2 books in the series, the plot was a little better. Though I really felt that Austin was not acting like a real Alpha with the way he treated Izzy and on what he said on the trailer scene. Its the same with Wheeler and how he's been acting since Reno and April's story.. But I really like the family dynamic of the Weston Pack its just that the way they have been acting contradicts what they are trying to portray. I also like that it has enough suspense to keep me going and how Izzy and Jericho kept trying to overcome their issues. Overall its an okay book to read 👍🏻

I'll be honest, I was not looking forward to listening to FIVE WEEKS because Jericho didn't leave much of an impression on me in the other books. He seemed like a pot head, ass hole rocker. But I'm glad to say that Jericho surprised me. He was a complex character with depths and feelings that were hidden under his don't give a shit attitude.
Jericho wants people to think he is the stereo type rocker that parties and sleeps with a different woman every night. Well ok, he does that but Jericho's a clean-cut guy compared to the way he was a few years ago. While his brothers find their mates he could care less about settling down and finding a mate. After all he's only had feelings for one girl and he's not seen her in years.
Izzy is a free spirit never staying in one place too long. She's currently the longest relationship she's every been in, which is a month-long. No she's not in love but Hawk keeps her company and takes care of her. And with Izzy being a lone female wolf-shifter that's important. See Izzy grew up in a usual home as a shifter. Her dad was a wolf and her mom and siblings were big cat shifters. Which didn't go over to well since her brothers and sisters picked on her and she didn't have the support that a wolf needs from a pack.
Until Izzy met Jericho a few years back and they became instant friends. Of course that friendship on its way to becoming more til one night after a rock show and Izzy ran out of Jericho's life. Neither has been able to stop thinking about the other and when their paths cross again it's the best thing that could have ever happened to both of them.
FIVE WEEKS is fun of emotions, romance and danger. I'm totally sold on the team of Dannika Dark and narrator, Nicole Poole. They are on my must listen list and I can't wait for the next installment, FOUR DAYS.
P.S. I need Wheeler's story! And I have a feeling I know who Denver's mate will be but ah, she has a lot of growing up to do.

After the not so good in my opinion Six Months I wasn't sure what to expect from this book. The good news is that I wasn't disappointed and I got my hopes up for the next book. The romance was great, there was a big misunderstanding which made things really interesting and it had lots of action. I am pretty sure this was the most action filled book in the series so far and I am not complaining.
The bad news and the reason the book didn't get a 5 star rating was the reaction the pack had to Izzy. I felt that they treated her unfairly, even though I know that they were trying to protect their brother. I am not saying that they should welcome her with open arms, but they could have tried to see her side.
Something that I haven't seen before happened in the book. The story is being told from Izzy and Jericho's point of view, but while Jericho's point of view is in third person, Izzy's is in first.

2.5 rounding up to a 3
I'm just not into rockers I think, this one was still good, and I finished it in one night, but I was not as into it as the first book in the series. Austin & Lexie are still my favorite Weston Pack couple so far but I am really hopeful for the next book because it features two of the characters I have been really curious about.
I will absolutely continue on in this series because the world is interesting and the Cole brothers certainly keep me entertained.

In this third installment of Dannika Dark’s Seven Years series, we get Jericho’s story. Jericho is a singer in a rock band and is a wolf shifter. I was on the fence about him previous to this book, as he wasn’t my favorite from the pack of brothers. This was unusual for me, because my guilty pleasure is rock star books. After reading this, I have changed my mind in every way about Jericho. Since this is by Dannika Dark, I should have known I would.
Izzy is pretty much alone in the world when she hooks up with another shifter named Hawk and moves in with him. As a wolf that was born as the only wolf to a wolf father, and cat mother, she has been on her own for a long time. No way was she going to be bullied the rest of her life by her cat siblings. She takes a job as a waitress at a shifter bar. She is shocked to discover that Jericho’s band is playing at the same bar. Twenty years before(yes, these shifters live a really long time, and age really slow), Jericho was the man she loved, but was only her best friend. They traveled together while he toured for five years, but all she could do was watch as he had a different woman every night. Jericho is equally shocked, as Izzy was the only woman he ever loved. Of course neither knows how the other one feels.
If I thought the previous books in this series were full of action, this one beats all of them. I don’t want to tell spoilers, so I will just say that this book is full of bad guy shifters and humans, drug dealers, kidnapping, attempted murders, justified killings, and the list goes on. At it’s heart though, is the romance between Izzy and Jericho. It was a really hot, but sweet romance. Since Izzy isn’t single, things are never boring during this book to say the least. It doesn’t help that the pack has problems with Izzy, and that is something that I didn’t like, but was realistic in this instance.
I loved the characters of Izzy and Jericho. Izzy is a beautiful, fun, people person, who actually enjoys her job. Jericho is the epitome of a rocker, a good looking man, one that lives for his music and of course his pack. We also get to see all the characters from the previous books and that is always one of the best parts of a series for me.
I have always enjoyed this authors world building. As with any paranormal series, she has her own view of what is involved in the Breed world, or as in this case, the shifter world. This series and her Mageri Series, take place in the same Breed world, although not in the same part of the country. I will leave the world specifics for the reader to find out, as I don’t want to tell the whole story!
There’s never a cliffhanger with any of this author’s work, and I have learned to really appreciate that in a series. As I have read everything by this author, I can’t stress enough how good a storyteller she is.
So we have lots of action, a great romance, memorable characters, good world building, and I totally loved it, and as with anything by this author, I couldn’t stop reading. I will be really interested to see which brother from the pack will be featured next. Or even if the next one is about another of the characters featured-totally possible as I know lots of readers are interested in other side characters, as I am too.

Dannika Dark is one of my all time favorite authors. She absolutely captivated me in her Mageri series and the Seven series is no different. Dark has created a unique world of magic filled with Mages, Shifters, Vampires, and Sensors. With all those Breeds combined, you can imagine the drama that ensues.
The Seven series follows the Cole family of Shifter wolves that make up the Westin Pack. Five Weeks is Jericho Sexton Cole’s story of falling back in love with the one wolf that got away, the sexy redhead Isabelle “Izzy” Monroe. With their kind of history come issues of loyalty and trust as events from the past try to overshadow their progress in the present.
The story line of Five Weeks was fantastic! It had just the right amount of build-up and suspense to keep me turning the pages into the wee hours of the morning. I particularly enjoyed Jericho’s sense of protectiveness and his ability to feel when something was wrong with Izzy. They are true mates in every sense of the word. Their love for each other in human form as well as in wolf form surpasses the love from any mated wolf that I have seen in this world of Breed.
This is definitely my favorite book of the Seven series thus far. I really enjoyed getting more of an insight into Ivy’s character as she takes Izzy under her wing. I also loved seeing a softer side to the previously blasé Jericho. Not to mention it was absurdly hot that Jericho almost gave Izzy an orgasm just by breathing on her neck and talking dirty. Whew! Steamy!

This is definitely my favorite book of the Seven series thus far. I really enjoyed getting more of an insight into Ivy’s character as she takes Izzy under her wing. I also loved seeing a softer side to the previously blasé Jericho. Not to mention it was absurdly hot that Jericho almost gave Izzy an orgasm just by breathing on her neck and talking dirty. Whew! Steamy!

This is a paranormal romance series with shifters. I say this because even when I won these, I seriously thought they were contemporary romances. *facepalm* I was delighted to discover otherwise. FIVE WEEKS delivers, a friend to lovers romance. Izzy is a shifter, who grew up in a mixed wolf and cat family. She was the lone wolf cub. As a result, she hit the road at a young age and befriended Jericho, a wolf, and rocker with a serious heroin addiction. While the two were friends, they never acted on the chemistry between them. An incident tore them apart and they haven't spoken since.
Fast forward years later and Izzy ends up in the same town as Jericho. She is working as a waitress in a shifter bar and living with a shifter. I loved Izzy. She is colorful, confident and clever. She has to be as an unmated wolf living on her own. While her current Bo isn't her dream guy, he keeps her safe. I was completely prepared not to like Jericho, but as Dark unpeeled his layers, we find a tender soul underneath his rocker exterior. He's come a long way from his days with the band and is back with his pack.
Ixxy finds herself in a heap of trouble thanks to her current boyfriend, and things get even crazier when tonight's band at the bar turns out to be Jericho. The tale that unfolds had humor, tender moments and a suspenseful thread that took on darker tones.
The initial tension and misunderstanding between them led to humor, healing, and heat. It was fun seeing Jericho and Izzy reconnect. It wasn't easy between danger, trust, and pack acceptance.
Dark exposed some of the uglier sides of the shifter world, and it kept me listening. The suspense angle was dark and placed not only Izzy and Jericho in danger but caused problems for the pack. At this point in the story, I could not stop listening. Dark managed to keep me guessing while keeping the tale believable. It also allowed us to see the depth of feelings each had for the other and helped them connect.

Now THIS is what I’m talking about! I went into this installment of the Seven series disliking Jericho and wasn’t sure I even wanted to read about his character. What a surprise! The author did a fantastic job of unraveling his layers and allowing us to follow the journey of discovery until we see the truly kind and deeply loving heart he has.
Izzy is also my very favorite female character so far. She is kind but feisty, loyal but strong. She doesn’t take any crap from Jericho (or anyone for that matter) but isn’t overbearing or obnoxious in anyway. She doesn’t settle for less and stands up for what she believes in. Her past has taught her to leave rather than fight but with Jericho she finally has something she is willing to stay and fight for.
Together they create an absolutely great paranormal romance!!

3+ "Better than I thought" Stars!
Well, this was ok, much better than I thought it would be. I didn't like Jericho in the previous books but in his own book he was a sweetheart. Izzy was a good female lead; very strong at times and she has a good heart. The story actually started of very strong and was looking like a solid four star read, but it pettered out toward the 75% mark and started to drag. I'm definitely in for the next book. Finally maybe we will know what happen to Ivy. Happy reading!

Isabel Monroe- or Izzy, is the only wolf shifter in a family of cougars. So, she decided to go it alone and met Jericho. Jericho took care of Izzy and they lived together for five years, but only as friends. But, when things got a little strange between them Izzy got the hell out of Dodge.
Currently Izzy is hooking up with Hawk, working at a Shifter bar called Howlers, living in the Austin, TX area.
When fate intervenes in her life and Izzy finds herself face to face with Jericho Cole after having left him years ago, her life changes in ways she couldn't have dreamed.
“Who says you are going to kiss me?”
“ Oh, I'm going to kiss you, baby. And I want you to sit here , thinking about the the lipgasm I'm going to give you.”

When Hawk gets in trouble and becomes possessive and violent, Jericho once more comes to the rescue. They could forgive each other for the way things were left previously, they could rekindle their strong friendship and let things stand, but there is a problem with that. Neither of them has ever felt a connection to anyone else like they do with each other. To spice things up even more, Izzy is about to go into heat.
This is a very good shifter romance, one of the best I have read in awhile. I will confess I have not read the first two book in the series, so if you haven't either, no worries. This one can be read as a standalone, although of course you will always enjoy a series more if you start with the first book. I do want to go back and catch up on the story from the beginning someday and you will too.
Izzy is a girl I think I could be friends with. She doesn't want to be just a notch on the bedpost with Jericho. She also is alone in the world and so she missed a few glaring signals that Hawk was mixed up with some bad people and he wasn't the guy she thought he was.
Jericho has come a long way since he last saw Izzy, his band is no longer filling stadiums but music is still the only thing he can ever imagine doing with his life. He's gone through really bad times but now he seems to know more about what he wants after he reconnects with Izzy.
This story had me turning pages at speed of light. I couldn't bear the suspense. I think all of us at one time or another has indulged in a little rock star fantasy and couple that with hot shifters and you've got a really entertaining story with smoldering hot romance and sensuality. 4.5 rounded to 5

When it all settles into place and you realize that you’ve just watched two soul mates overcome 20 years of distance to find their way back to each other.
This book is perfectly paced. This book is gorgeously written. This book is moving, sweet, funny, sexy as hell and stealthily weaves its way into your heart when you aren’t looking.

Hell's bells people! This book was outstanding, amazing, just wow! For fans of the Seven series, Jericho and Izzy are about to become your new favorite couple. The chemistry between these two borderline explodes off the page, and you will love every single delicious second of it. Dannika's writing will utterly blow you away. From page one, you are captivated and sucked right back into the world of the Weston pack. However, one of the things I love about this series is that even if you haven't read the first two books, you don't have to worry. There is enough summary in the first chapter to catch you up, and honestly you could just pick this book up and be introduced to the amazing world Ms. Dark has constructed. No prior knowledge is needed. Nevertheless, you should still pick up the first two books in this series because they are also AMAZING and you'll seriously be missing out on a great read if you don't.
This book has the resounding theme of second chances. It reminds you sometimes second chances aren't a good thing, but sometimes they can be the best thing in the world. Izzy and Jericho compliment each other so perfectly, and they mesh very well together. The two have a wonderful banter that most couples only dream of having. You can definitely tell that they are two best friends that fell in love along the way. And that can be the very best love in the end. Izzy is such a strong, brave heroine that is tough as nails. She is a no-holds-barred, takes nothing girl. Izzy is feisty, sassy, and just plain awesome. Prior to this book, Jericho was always the mysterious brother. Sure, we knew he was the rocker, who liked to party hard and had the girls lining up, but we truly saw a different side to him when we were treated to his POV. I honestly greatly enjoyed being able to see inside his head, and it added a more complete element to the story.
The book has perfect pacing, and shows Dannika's mastery over writing. There is never a dull moment, and every scene is so realistic that it will leave you begging for more. I honestly am longing to go to a Heat concert now ;) There is the perfect balance of humor, sexy, sweet, and danger. And you'll definitely be hooked on this series if this is the first book you're reading from the series. I highly recommend this book for fans of Dannika Dark and especially for fans of the Seven series. This book is not to be missed, and you'll be desperate for the next in the series, Four Days. If I could shout it from the rooftops, I would: "READ THIS BOOK!!" Then everyone would read it, and they'd all love me for my fantastic taste in books. Hahaha!
FIVE WEEKS is the third book in the Seven Series. As you may know, I love the Cole brothers and SEVEN YEARS is one of my favorite books. I decided to start this newest tale at 11:00 PM… Not so wise when you have to be up to go to work the next day. I was up until the wee hours of the morning!! Of course, Dannika Dark knocked it out of the park… again. The only reason I didn't pull an all nighter is because my iPad died. I want to be Izzy Monroe almost as much as I love Austin Cole. But I took my dead battery as a sign to go to bed… Otherwise, I would have read that bad boy in one sitting!
Truly. BAD BOY! I found new love for Jericho Cole, the rocker bad boy with the obedient wolf. He's been around in the other books and was always super cocky… thinks he's God's Gift… If you've read the Mageri Series, he reminded me a lot of Simon. (Not really my type, but not Not my type either.) His was a story I didn't realize I was excited to know. Rock 'n' Roll and all that, living the life of a Rockstar. His life isn't hasn't been as 'cool' as you would think. He did have a best friend once upon a time…
Izzy Monroe. My new favorite Dannika Dark heroine. She makes poor choices, and has terrible taste in men. She's independent, witty, sarcastic, all around my kind of gal! Her current boyfriend is a real piece of *something*… determined to pull her own weight, she gets a job working as a waitress. She's accustomed to serving, and walking the line between shaking your ass for tips and getting a bad rap. When you're a shifter, it's better to by mysterious. She was holdin' her own, until she discovered the lead singer of the house band was none other than Jericho "Sexton" Cole. Her old buddy, the one that taught her so much about life as a shifter, had waltzed right back into her life.
Timing is everything. So many connections keep taking Izzy right back to the Weston Pack, and Jericho Cole. Truths are revealed and nothing will be the same for them again…

Five Weeks is another wonderfully entertaining read in the Seven series by Dannika Dark.
Izzy is a wolf who never had a pack. After years on the road, she thinks she might find the security with another shifter. But things start going wrong and when she unexpectedly runs into the man that broke her heart years ago her life is turned upside down.
Jericho has reunited with his wolf family and they have formed a new pack. Tired of the drugs, alcohol and stress of being a rock star, Jericho has down sized to play local clubs. When the woman that left him at his lowest appears, he will fight for the closure they never had...but will desire for closure lead to sparks of romance igniting the flames of undying passion.
Dark once again provides an emotionally gripping storyline. Yes, it is a shifter tale, but Dark's writing gives us fictional characters facing desperate everyday circumstances. We are thrust into dealing with difficult social and person issue right along side her characters, drawing us closer into the characters lives.
I have to admit, I wasn't crazy with Jericho's family's attitude toward Izzy and felt the need for someone to pull their heads out of the sand...but in the end I can sympathize with their over protectiveness, even at the cost of another.
I highly enjoyed Five Weeks. I was pulled into this story and kept invested right to the end.

2021 relisten: Nicole Poole does a great job narrating all the characters in this series. With a fairly large ensemble cast, that can be difficult. She's good at bringing Dannika's characters to life. I don't have much to add to my previous musings. Still 5 stars.2020 update: I'm enjoying listening to this series in a "reread". Izzy is a strong woman and Jericho...well, read (or listen to) the book. Six years ago, trigger warnings weren't a thing but perhaps due in this one. It goes to dark places, included forced imprisonment. There's violence, though mostly off page. That stuff doesn't bother me so I totally enjoyed the book!

Isabelle Monroe - Izzy - knew Jericho Cole years ago. They were best friends for 5 years. Izzy was the only wolf of a Wolf Cougar mating. Her father, the wolf, was distant to her, and her siblings did not take to her. She ran away and she and Jericho found each other. Together they lived as best as they could, sometimes under a bridge. Jericho starts his music career and with the fame comes drugs and women. When Izzy finds him drugged out with yet another woman, she has had enough and does what she always does, she runs. She doesn't realize that she and her current boyfriend are living near the Cole family Pack. Izzy starts a job as waitress at a shifter bar called Howlers. Jericho's brother Denver is the bartender. He can't believe Izzy is there. He believes that Izzy was the cause of Jericho's near death from drugs and that she stole from him. One night at the bar Jericho's band plays and their name is Izzy Monroe. A human is trying to capture Izzy and makes the mistake of trying to carry her out of Howlers. Her boyfriend Hawk is being more unreasonable than usual. He wants her to quit her new job and move with him. Turns out Hawk is a drug dealer and he has been cheating Delgado his boss. Jericho offers her safety with him and the pack. She has always been a lone wolf and isn't comfortable with the pack, especially since they all believe Denver's story. Jericho is determined to win Izzy back. She wants to keep him safe from her nutty ex. Hawk kidnaps both Izzy and Jericho. He sets up video for her to watch of Jericho surrounded by drugs. Will Jericho's will break and will he give into the lure of the drugs? Izzy is tied to Hawk's bed, is there any way she can get help for them? Another of Cole's brothers is shot and also needs immediate help. Is Izzy resourceful enough? Can Jericho do anything? If they survive this, is there a future for them?

Hell's Bells Cole Brothers!!!! Jericho and Izzy, destiny as finally caught up with you and found you..This story is about second chances and we all deserve them.
I think Jericho and Izzy are going to be the first in the pack to have a breed baby. Wolf,Wolf. Awesome book. When we have found our true mate it's not going to be peaches and cream. Destiny has it's challenges. I broke when Jericho exploded in the kitchen with Austin and Wheeler. Wow, how he stated the inner turmoil, anxiety and the million emotions he felt from the depths of his soul. ;) Dannika Dark stupendously written book.

If you’ll excuse me, I have to get home.” I tried to flounce off, but walking in short steps with a paper sack around my hips wasn’t a graceful way to make an exit. He rolled the truck beside me and the engine rumbled, but he didn’t say a word. So I walked a little faster. He drove a little faster. Finally, I broke into a run. Jericho hit the gas and kept up with me. “Get in the goddamn truck, Isabelle.” “No.” "You’re a female wolf running naked in the street. Get in.” “I’m not naked,” I panted. “I’m wearing recyclables.”
