★★★★★! The Dumont Diaries, Part 1 of 4. DESPAIR – PROPOSITION – DESIRE & SALVATION!
My visible review is written to contain less details than book blurb. If you want a little more, please click on spoilers. This part 1 is best started just knowing as little as possible, so my review is mostly my rating and feelings.

The Dumont Diaries consists of 4 novellas, which must be read in order:
Part 1: To Have
Part 2: To Hold
Part 3: Till Death
Part 4: Do Us Part
To Have (part 1) opens up with heroine, Candy at work. She is a stripper on the brink of financial ruin. But her life wasn’t always this way. She grew up in a two-parent home, slightly privileged. She attended College, but partied her way through. Upon her graduation as an Event planner she was unable to find a job and her bills started piling up she was forced to take this job at the Crystal Palace Gentleman’s Club.
Six words to describe Candy: Despondent, desperate, reflective, endearing, lost and flawed.
“It is a sad moment when I sit back and take a critical inventory of my life. I have never allowed myself to dwell on it.”
One night she is propositioned for more by a high-roller patron and her life will never be the same! That is all you need to know! I promise that the hero entering the scene is a to-die-for enigmatic, rich, jaded playboy, with a security entourage. But he is also cold, distant and rude. Part one ends abruptly leading right to part 2, To Hold for the continuation of their story. Excellent storytelling! Interesting and captivating plot! Memorable, fascinating and addictive hero! I was hooked from page one and I am highly recommending this 4-part serial! For me this is looking like a 6-star read! Thanks Ms. Torre!

4 Sexy Stars!
Expect a beautifully written story when you're reading an Alessandra Torre book.
To Have is the first part of The Dumont Diaries novella series. It's an easy and quick read that introduces the flawed heroine Candy. Candy is a stripper at a gentleman's club. She actually went to college and finished a degree before she went stripping but because she wasn't able to land a job, she resorted into stripping in order to sustain her needs and to survive in a strange city she lives in. Her life unexpectedly changed when she met the blue-eyed, filthy rich mysterious man who asked her to privately dance for him but later on offered a deal that she could either accept or refuse.
I loved how gripping and all-consuming this story was. I totally connected to Candy as well as with Mr. Dumont. There was an intensity between these characters that sucked me in. Mr. Dumont's air of mystery also intrigued me, I want to know more about this Alpha man in the next novellas.
Also, this story speaks reality. Anyone who is put in a situation that does not sit well with the society doesn't deserve to be judged.
"I can understand your judgment. I know that I am a prostitute. I’m not proud of it.."
I also loved the intimate scenes shared by the characters in this book. They were certainly intense and oh, so hot!
All in all it was a very interesting introduction to The Dumont Diaries. I'm definitely digging this series!

5***Mysterious BlueEyes Stars
Candance Deanna Tapers aka “Candy” young and with so much potential. Finds herself in a life she never wished for. She wanted to be an event planner and she realized there were no jobs for what she wanted to do. She found herself with no money and alone after her mother passed and ended up in the State of Florida working at a Crystal Palace Strip club as a dancer. Sometimes in order to survive; she had to do things she didn’t want to but she didn’t have friends or family to support or help her. Her only family was her father that she stayed away from. He was ill and fighting a different battle himself and she couldn’t helped him out even if she wanted to.
I am basically feeling so bad for Candy this entire time, the things she had to put up to and deal with to just get by. She meets a mysterious man that takes notice on her and wants her. At first it’s like is this Julia from ”Pretty Woman?, this “BlueEyes” mystery and intriguing man is going to fall in love with her and take her out of this misery life?!, well how fucking wrong was I.
Nathan Bane DumontDark hair, BlueEyes, Olive skin, and cocky as hell comes in her life out of the blue and I can’t help liking him even though the only words he says are commanding and demanding
Of course I’m like “Yes Sir, Yes Sir” and so was Candy. I mean seriously? Who wouldn’t right?! Lol…Up until the contract….Say what?! Fifty shades again?!...Well no, this is completely different and it sure got my attention. He gave her the best sex of her life and WOW yeah pretty damn hot.
Well you get the point, he was irresistible, she was supposed to be with him for only one night. One fucking amazing night with this hot stuff and get the money she needed to catch up on her rent and bills for at least six months. However, things end up twisting around at the end when he brought up a marriage contract. My mouth dropped at everything the contract said, honestly it is a good deal for a person in her situation but pride and realism had a way to work with your mind. Yes this ends on a major cliffy I am so glad all the books are already out.

To Have is Part 1 of The Dumont Diaries. Ms. Torre evokes a host of emotions throughout this four part read. I am truly thankful that all four books were available for me to read consecutively. I can only imagine the amount of anxiety I would have experienced had I had to wait.
"I am reckless on a pole, trusting my legs and arms in a way certain to cause damage. It is a lover I hate and I ride it relentlessly, caressing it in a sensual way that leaves nothing to the imagination. The beat moved through me and I got lost in its strength, pulsating against steel, spinning away only to return to it, my heels a blur of clear sparkle, my thoughts lost in the movement."-Candy
Candy is a stripper. She has a college degree and yet has been forced to work the pole for money. From the beginning of the read it is easy to assess that Candy is a good girl. She has simply chosen a job in order to provide for herself and help her ailing dad.
"I can understand your judgment. I know that I am a prostitute. I’m not proud of it. And when I am flush with cash, I refuse the requests for extra services. But at times like today, when I am struggling to fill my car up with gas, I don’t have much of an option."-Candy
Candy is confident with her sexuality. She doesn't want to sleep with her clients but she has no problem doing a little extra to make another buck. Everything changes one night when a handsome business man enters the club. After a few visits, the man asks Candy to leave the club with him.
"I am willing to break my No Sex Rule, my body craving his touch — my bank account desperate for a cash infusion."-Candy
Candy is very attractive to this man. It is not a difficult problem to solve. She can go with him, enjoy herself, and make some extra cake for her bank roll. Little did she know, her life is about to change.

The man wants Candy to marry him.

And as far as you — you should never expect that from me. I will not love you. I will have no use for you other than sex and photo ops. Will Candy be able to agree to the demands of the contract and marry this man? Does money equal happiness? Do you need love?
Overall, To Have was an excellent read. I thoroughly enjoy the writing style of Ms. Torre. Her characters are intensely focused on getting what they want. The sex scenes are full of passion and leave you breathless. I find that she pushes my boundaries and causes me to question everything. To Have poses a challenge in which I was happy to accept. In order to join Candy on the journey, you must be willing to discover what a person really needs to be fulfilled. Be willing to question- is sex enough? And finally, do we really need to be loved?

Holy smokes! This book is awesome! I can see why nobody seems to stop and write a review. It's that good. The series is four tiny nouvellas, each were apparently released a week apart. Good thing they're all out!
When a tough-on-her-luck pole dancer/stripper catches the eye of rich, domineering, clipped businessman Nathan Dumont, he's got a proposition for her. He's more than a customer. He asks for a sexual favor....for lots of money. She becomes excited to see his face every now and again and he always requests her. She's never been a prostitute but desperate times mean desperate measures.......
It's not even all about the money with this guy. He stirs something in her that she craves. She'd have sex with him for free....but won't turn down the cash. That'll set her up for months! Win-win situation. And those eyes.......
Woah! I can say that had to be one of the HOTTEST stranger sex scenes EVER! And this isn't no virgin erotica reader! Lord!
Why this is broken up into four books is a little cra-cra but the author did her job......I AM HOOKED. First chapter in....never put it down. So, if you're looking for a quick to capture you, fast, HOT read, this book delivers in spades!

Great start to this series..
Candy works as a lap/pole dancer, not really a job that she would of chose but needs must, she has spiralling credit card bills and a father in a nursing home.
When a client asks for her services again, she excepts willingly ..he pays well and he is rich and very good looking, not like the other clients with their fat bellies and wandering hands.
This is the second time Nathan Dumont has asked for her and only her...
but this time he has a different offer for her to consider..
My thoughts
This is very different, dark and mysterious.
I really enjoyed this first story and it left me on the final page with shivers!!!

To Have is the first episode of The Dumont Diaries, a four part series. In this novella, we meet Candy the down on her luck exotic dancer working at a low class strip club. She is in debt, lives in a dump with a possible pervert, has a sick father and is basically so mired with her circumstances that she can’t see any way upward out of her so called life. At least, not until she meets Nathan Bane Dumont, a wealthy patron of the strip club who pays Candy to privately dance for him and to give him blow jobs.
“I watched as his hand moved, adjusting himself, the hard line of his cock outlined his pants. He glanced at it, and then at me. Suck me.”
Until one night, Nathan offers Candy a significant amount of money for a night of sex. What ensues is not your average one night stand, instead he offers Candy a way out of her life with a marriage proposal. There is no love or hearts or flowers associated with the proposal rather it is a contract of convenience. Will Candy accept and sign the offer? What exactly is Nathan’s endgame?
This first episode sets the stage and tone of what is to come. Initially, it seemed as though Candy’s life wasn’t going to be complicated, but with the possible acceptance of Nathan’s proposal, the tone becomes is foreboding. I can’t help but feel as though she will be signing away more than she can ever anticipate.

This should be interesting to say the least. A little bit fast paced and too short, but it grabs your attention right away.
We have what seems to be a slutty but sweet heroine and douche of a hero, that is far from sweet. I'm not sure if I like them just yet though. Mr. Dumont is a bit too quiet with only a handful of words even spoke so far. Since the story is told from Candace's pov, you don't get much of background information on him, like at all, no feelings, nothing. All you know about him is the fact that he likes to get sucked off in a front of an audience and he doesn't mind men watching him get it done.
I'm off to the next book to see where this crazy relationship is heading, find out if I like or want to punch Mr. Dumont, and hopefully learn something more about our hero. Fingers crossed!!

Desperate lonely and broke; those three things combined doesn’t bode well for anyone especially when faced with a decision that can change your life forever. Struggling to get by with no friends or family to turn to leave very little choice for a girl like Candy; giving the mysterious sexy stranger the advantage he needs for her to see benefits of his proposition...
Goodbye strip club, goodbye responsibility, her only concern now is to be the person he needs her to be...that should be enough, right?
To Have is the first of the four part Dumont Diaries series, we meet the handsome stranger and understand the struggles that Candy faces and while we get a handle on who Candy is the sexy stranger is still just a stranger. He makes his demands and knows he will get whatever it is he wants. He comes off as a jerk throwing around his money, careless of how his words or demands are taken. Not sure what I feel at this point, but I am intrigued to continue on …

This first of four parts has peaked my interest. I'm looking forward to seeing where this story is going to take Candy and Blue Eyes. It is clear already that this is not going to be a warm & fuzzy story.
Mr. Dumont seems cold and distant. He doesn't see Candy as more than an object for his sexual gratification as far as I can tell, and he seems to have some serious exhibitionist tendencies. Candy, is a stripper/prostitute that sells herself to him in exchange for a life of comfort. So far, neither of them are particularly endearing, but it's early on. I'm curious to see where this story will go.

4.5--We're Off to a Good Start--Stars!!!
So...normally I am not a fan of serial type stories, where we are given insallments of the story. But I am a fan of this author and I liked the fact that all of the installments are released within a few weeks of each other. So I decided to go for it!

Hmmm....well this is going to be interesting.
Candace "Candy" who works as a stripper is approached by a VIP regular one night and offered to go home with him. This is not something that usually happens, but she goes anyway. The next day she is given two choices;
1) take the $10 grand offered for spending the night with him and continue in her life possibly having to continue stripping
or 2) enter into a loveless marriage. It's not until she reads the prenup that she even knows his name, Nathan Dumont.
I feel like there is something shady going on, but I haven't figured out what it is yet. There's just enough to get you interested and have to know what happens next.
This is a four part novella mini-series.

I can understand your judgment. I know that I am a prostitute. I’m not proud of it.
That statement hooked me, and that was also what made me keep reading, and curious. Who's Candy? Just a stripper for a cheap club, a ho...or, just another human being tried to survive, alone, struggled in life?
This book was intense, and I'm hooked since a first page.
Living a life like Candace/Candy was never easy. A stripper, sometimes when she's having tight money problem, she should do some hand or blow job for her clients. But no sex.
At least not until she met Nathan Bane Dumont, a rich, mysterious, handsome man with a pair of intimidating blue eyes.
He offered her,
Marriage.
Prenuptial.
Assumption.
Loyalty.
Confidentiality.
Yup! A marriage- Business contract of a life time, but no love included, no romance, just photo session and sex.
A cold arrangement, but she's desperate....what could she decide?
I can say, this one is intense, hooked me, and can't stop reading. The sex was HOT
I have to straight to book #2 to know what's her decision...

This in the first installment of a four part series that follows Candy and Mr. Blue-eyes. We meet Candy, the stripper has come to terms that girls like her don't get a prince charming. She has come to terms with her situation and will do whatever it takes to survive. Enter Mr. Blue-eyes. But he may be after far more than just a private dance.
This was an addictive little gem of a story. I was instantly hooked, trying to sort out just what the end-game was. With so little in the way of pages, this story was so much more. It might appear that these would be an easier accomplishment, after all word & page count is so much less than a stand alone, but yet - the author has so much less time to get you to connect - grab your attention.
Alessandra Torre, accomplishes just that within an instant. Candy is a likable girl who has a shit hand dealt to her, but she is realistic about where her life is and where it is going to go. Although Candy is the only character that you really get to know in the first installment, you are completely pulled in my Mr. Blue -eyes and his mysterious motives.

Thank you SueBee, Angie and Katey... I woke up this morning to see To Have staring out at me and I followed the trail of reviews and comments. My inquiring mind wanted to see what this was about and checked out the blurb. There in black and white it stated it was a four part series. Perfect. In a review I learned it was going to be issued every week, not huge periods in between. Perfect, again. The reviews available on GR stated the author knew her craft and had a following. Terrific. Went to purchase and the price was right, click click... I was there.
From the beginning of this quick read, the tone is set, character drawn and you are sucked in. No promises of hearts and flowers; no whining "woo is me" crap, just real gritty "this is the life I am having and I am doing the shitty best I can". Perfect! From there the story takes off and doesn't let go. You are introduced to the circumstances, players, premise and set for the entire series with major pieces given with enough shading to wonder, contemplate and stew over. Oh, and I haven't even mentioned the hotness factor... it's there and the promise of intense hotness to come is announced clearly.
I will totally be part of the followers of this series. The investment of time and interest look to be worth the enjoyment factor of experiencing something new to me.

The Dumont Diaries was a highly addictive series for me.
I loved that each book was a quick read!
Sometimes you just need a break from the full length novels. :)
It had a couple of gorgeous men and a heroine who was likable and completely down on her luck.
The sexy time scenes are pretty hot and oh boy a little embarrassing with the exhibitionism..but I enjoyed it. :)
If you're looking for a fun and quick read, this series is for you. :)

This is a four book Novella series that I will be reviewing as one. Each book is between 50-60 pages of scorching hot goodness. If you are a fan of erotica and erotic romance with a hot Alpha male, then you will enjoy this short series.
Candy is a young woman whose life has gone all wrong. Nothing is going according to plan. She has been out of school for months and has been unable to land a job as a party planner. She has been forced to resort to working as a dancer in a gentleman's club. She lives in a room and her landlord is a bit of a creeper. Candy is looking for a break but is realistic enough to know that this may be it for her.
Nathan Dumont is an enigmatic heir to a shipping fortune. He has specific tastes in women and Candy fits the bill perfectly. He finds her dancing and decides to take things a step further. Candy jumps at the chance to perform for this man and earn some extra money.
When Nathan offers her a place to live and his hand in marriage in a business arrangement, Candy is dumbfounded. This could be her chance out of the life that she is destined to lead. But he has stipulations.
��I will not love you. I will have no use for you other than sex and photo ops. That is something you might want to consider when making your decision.”
Sex with Nathan is off the charts. His need is insatiable.

While the life she leads is "perfect", life in her glass house is lonely. Candy begins to wonder what the motives were behind her acquisition. Soon, she has no idea where to turn or who to trust. Things get highly complicated as she finds herself in way over her head.

This was a fast paced series that kept me guessing. Nathan is enigmatic and secretive. His motives are not clear. His security team is not what they seem. Nathan was clear to Candy from the start, no love. He has a need for her, she will fulfill a role and nothing more. She believes she can play the part, but she didn't anticipate falling for Nathan.
I have rated this series as a whole. I would give them a solid four stars. The series takes on a mystery and suspense feel to it with highly erotic scenes between out main characters. This is not a touchy feely series but for me, it hit the spot. :-)

I do love a book that doesn't take itself too seriously.
Especially if its about a stripper who got propositioned for marriage by a special customer. And by special I mean a billionaire shipping magnate (because nobody gets turned on by millionaires anymore in this day and age) who specifically treks out to some third-tier strip club in bumfuck nowhere to co-mingle with truck drivers and soccer dads.
I actually search out stripper/pornstars/whore stories of worth because I quite like how the premise of such stories preemptively eases out the moral logic in the setting. Unfortunately, I've yet to find the holy grail of such stories (where the stripper has a doctorate degree on physics or psychology) but "Candy" was a serviceable character. The sex scenes were steamy enough but fell trap to the awkward vernacular erotica is notoriously stereotyped for.

With a sick daddy somewhere for our heroine and the surliness of the dominant hero, the storyline is a little bit of Disney Porn (there is voyeurism and exhibitionism in Disney films right?) but I'm hopeful for the succeeding installments. There's probably going to be some lengthy, gag-worthy scenes on the Cinderella transformation for "Candy" as her story continues with Mr. Dumont but I'll probably tune in just to see if any of these two contracts herpes.

A little bit too fast paced and too short, but it grabbed my attention right away. I'm not sure what is going on with our H and h, but I'm curious to find out.
Slut of a heroine and douche of a hero. I'm not sure if I like them just yet. Since the story is told from her pov, you don't get much of background information on him. Actually, the is kind of person of a mystery. All you know about him is the fact that he likes to get sucked off in a front of an audience :-D. I like the fact that author dragged all the way to the end to reveal his name, and still managed to keep my interest.
I'm off to the next book to see what's the deal with that weird contract, and hopefully learn something more about our hero.

What a great read. The sex was hot (even if I didn't know his name until the last page). He was a jerk, but for some reason I liked him. I like a person who gets straight to the point. It doesn't get much clearer than his only words being "Dance" and “Suck me." the first time you meet him. A mean cliff hanger at the end, but I'm so excited to read the next part and see what happens.
