Dear Author, That long hot summer we had run away together as often as we dared to the hidden gorge lake. After a swim, we would wrap ourselves in each other’s arms, finally able to be with each other without the fear of discovery. Little did we know, that particular afternoon would be a last brief shining moment for us. As I bent down to kiss him, his tanned, lithe body so warm under my hand, we never knew that someone else had discovered our meeting place. Now we had to decide, lie about what we meant to each other and part ways forever or face down the coming storm together.
Photo Description: Two young men outside in a secluded location, both naked and totally lost in each other. One sitting and gazing up at his lover who bends down over him for a kiss, his hand lovingly trailing down his chest.
This story was written as a part of the M/M Romance Group's "Love’s Landscapes" event. Group members were asked to write a story prompt inspired by a photo of their choice. Authors of the group selected a photo and prompt that spoke to them and wrote a short story.

I'm a hopeless romantic who's totally obsessed with reading romance. MF MM it really doesn't matter - I love it all. As long as it has a HEA that is. Though I have to say, I read far more MM romance than anything else. So many good stories and fantastic authors out there.
Recently discovered a love of writing my own love stories. Will forever be grateful to the MM Romance Group's LL writing event, for giving me the opportunity to put my first piece of work out there. The story ideas are now coming thick and fast. It's the best thing ever.
Nice little short about two high school seniors who find kindred spirits in each other, even though one is a jock and the other a slightly geeky outcast. The themes here weren't new, and there was some awkward phrasing, but I thought the steam was just right (lots of hot kisses and some frotting).
While I didn't believe one of the MCs would act as he did at the end (the boys has a history of talking about everything, and the actions seemed completely out of character), the ending wrapped up the story and left me more or less satisfied. ~2.5 to 3 stars~
This was a lovely story of first times and awakenings and coming of age and growing up. I loved Dane and Sean's sassiness. Dane especially seems like a character that would be fun to write about. Sean also seems very strong and I liked him very much. His sacrifice at the end was heart breaking but I knew it would eventually bring them together stronger than before since it was the catalyst that Dane needed to eventually take that step and break out on his own as an adult, away from his father's control. The epilogue was a new beginning for them both and it would be interesting to see what adventures they have in their new life.

3.5 stars contemporary story of two young men who meet in their final weeks of school. Dane is expected to go to the local college and enter the family firm, and Sean has a plan to get out of foster care and move on to art school. Their growing attraction to each other causes Dane to question whether he's gay, and eventually they start a relationship - which is tested due to the pressure of Dane's family and their expectations.
Dane, Sean. This was a good story. It involves Dane and Sean. They meet in high school and you watch their relationship grow. Because of some of his family members, Dane is afraid of coming out. Then someone catches them. Dane has to decide: let Sean go or fight for him. I feel the story wrapped up well at the end.
Why did I wait so long to read this? I've read a lot of books from many different authors and I must say this one really touched me. By far the best I've read in years. I just love Dane and Shane. I now have a terrific author to follow, thank you for this wonderful story hope we get to catch up with Dane and Shane again.
Such a lovely, romantic story and wonderful characters. My only complaint really is the part at the end where the mother stood up to the father. Just once I'd like to read a story where the cliché roles were reversed.

Coming of age story with great characters. The friends to lovers aspect was done really good. iIt was a development from a new friendship to love. It was nice slow burn and believable. Really enjoyed it.
That was an unfortunate ending. This was a nice little story and I was enjoying it and then the evil caricature of evil homophobic family Showed up and totally derailed my enjoyment. Poo! Only rounding Up because I enjoyed the first half and it was free.
This was a sweet story with a predictable plot and the right formula for a good romance. There wasn't anything unique about it but it was a good fluffy read nonetheless.
