I love all the sass, chaos, and bickering between the characters, and liked the tension between Mikhail and Andrei.
Nemain is such a fun character, I liked seeing her feisty side and no nonsense attitude, as well as her care and love for her family, including her willingness to sacrifice herself for them.
This is a fun world filled with Fae, vampires, witches, shifters, sorcerers, witches and more.
I loved the found family dynamics and how protective they are of each other.

In typical Maddox fashion, this book is filled with chaos, action, hilarious banter and delicious spice. I loved that this book was back to focusing on Nemain and Mikhail with their chaotic group of friends and family. There's always something crazy going on and this book was no exception. And with that ending, oh boy I can't wait to see what happens next!

This series is such a non stop action packed thrill ride, the characters never get a break, we move from one catastrophe to the next and this is what I love about this series. There are never any lulls, when the characters aren’t directly in the heat of battle or fighting for their lives they are plotting or gearing up for the next adventure. There is always an undertone of romance throughout the story with the various couples that form, even during the process of this story and it only further enhances a story that comes from a series so carefully crafted through these books. The continued worldbuilding is top tier, we get to further explore different worlds through Nemains magic as our group of characters both well know and new venture to save the people they love most.
In order to keep her family safe Nemain has made a deal with someone she would very much rather see dead, however, he's come to collect and there's no going back now. This made is the leader of the warlocks and what he is asking for is no small task, he wants to make his vampire allies stronger, and Nemain has no choice to say yes even if it means making the vampires strong enough to wipe out the werewolves once and for all. With it feeling like they are up against everything from curses to a new mate bond that is so very unpredictable as well as the prophecy thay predicts the end of realms, Nemain is at her wits end. However, they all know if its going to get worse for anyone its going to be them. They need a solution for the curse placed on Magos, and an old friend needs help with controlling his inner wolf, and with a debt to fulfil it looks like they are all going on a mission to find the sorcerer that made the vampires. So now all they need to do is survive the coming storm, and a realm of darkness full of primordial devours that make even Nemain look like a kitten.
There are so many amazing characters to talk about that I don't even know where to fully begin. We get to revisit characters we already know and love, while meeting entirely new characters, some we learn to love and some not so much. Nemain continues to be an absolute badass, and we have come to the point now where even she begins to doubt herself and her ability to protect those she loves. It is such an interesting character development that shows the depth of her personality, and to me felt like such a hunan response to all of the constant fighting against what feels like everyone and everything. Mikhail is still just as frustrating as ever, pushing Nemain's buttons like only he knows best. Strong and steadfast, he keeps Nemain grounded when she is feeling a bit murdery, but then also just like Nemain understands and aligns with her love for killing and bloodshed. He will stop at nothing to protect Nemain and I love the possessiveness we see from the both of them throughout this story not that the mating bond between them has awoken. There relationship and restraint is definitely tested in this book as we meet a nunber of both of their exes, who aren’t exactly helpful when it comes to flirting with one or both of them. We continue to learn more of their respective pasts and how it got them to where they are now, which continues their evolution of their characters.
Maddox continues to develop the elaborate magical system within this world throughout this book, complex as are the characters that inhabit this world but so important to the story being told. Getting to explore new worlds and new creatures makes this book even more interesting, and don't get me started on the secrets and betrayal that are bound to keep you guessing. I loved the non-stop action, the way that there is always another adventure to go on or another person that needs saving even if the characters are frankly fed up with it. While the quests themselves can feel specific they each contribute to the overarching story that flows through each of the books, keeping that consistent thread throughout the series. I already cannot wait for more of this series and these characters.

I am absolutely obsessed with how dynamic and diverse the characters are, and how ferocious they are in protecting each-other. Their loyalty is unmatched. The platonic love between these characters is just as epic as the romantic, and every bit as important. I just cannot get enough of it. This series is just written spectacularly, beautiful descriptors and is the perfect fusion of emotion and entrancing conflict. P.S. that cliffhanger though…

Maddox had done it again and I cannot wait to see the chaos they bring next!
One of my favorite parts of this series is how brilliantly the found family aspect shines through. No matter the chaos that is thrown at Nemain and her motley crew, they band together and do everything in their powers to save the ones they call family! And, trust me when I say there is plenty of chaos to go around!
The stakes are high and more than loyalty is tested as we venture to a new realm in order to fulfill a blood oath and save Andrei and Magos from the cursed plaguing them.
Once again, we get plenty of banter, sass, spice, and the most epic of nose boops out there! And, after that ending, I cannot wait for Pele’s book and what comes next!!

Do you like stabby FMCs whose found family keeps growing despite their poor manners and temper? Do you like shifters, vampires, witches, warlocks, and daemons? Do you love banter and quick wit? Do you enjoy random acts of violence? If you have answered yes to the questions above this book and series are for you.
Not only are the characters quirky and a little unhinged at times but there is so much depth, even to the bad guys. Some you love to hate, some you feel bad for but still hate, and others keep you guessing.
This book brought new twists and turns. The reveals were so well done and I cannot wait to continue with the next book.

A cursed Vampire, a Werewolf that is struggling to contain the beast within and a bargain with a Warlock thrust feline shifter Nemain and her cohorts into yet another deadly situation.
Oh! it's so good to catch up with the gang again. Great characters, violent conflict and page turning stories that are just too good to put down. We're eight books into this series (plus a few novellas along the way) and despite the seemingly endless cast list, everyone drops nicely into the tales where required and brings something to the mix.
The occasional intimate scenes, i must admit, do bring a colour to my cheeks, a quickening of the heart and, dare I say, a stirring in the loins but it's the character relationships, witty banter and all out action that have me returning to the series time after time.
I can't wait for the next installment

I swear, every book in this series is a five star read for me. I can not get enough of Maddox's Grey's writing style. The banter was fire, the plot was amazing, and the characters - the best. If you love all the best tropes, then this book is for you. Especially if you need a series that will grab you and keep you there through 9 books and counting. I can't recommend this series enough!!

I’m am part of Maddox’s ARC team and let me tell you that this book just continues on with the chaos that is Nemain and her found family.
Hunting for a cure for Andrei and Magos they find themselves in the sorcerer realm where they run into trouble almost as soon as they arrive. More revelations are exposed and just when you think Nemain has it all sorted more things are swung her way.
Oh and that ending??? Did not see that coming! I need Pele’s book yesterday!

Nemain & Co head off to the sorcerers’ realm to settle a debt and help an old friend. As usual, chaos ensues.
This is a series with fully-formed, mature and powerful characters. Nemain is one of the “good guys”, but this hasn’t always been the case. Her dark past, and her ruthless brand of justice in the present, make her an interesting and multi-dimensional character. The supporting characters are equally engaging and fleshed out.
The pace is unrelenting, the writing both witty and dark. There are a couple of spicy scenes, but the main focus of the story is on the action (with a splash of romance). I enjoyed the book thoroughly and highly recommend it for fans of contemporary fantasy with a healthy dose of action adventure.

Her dark past, and her ruthless brand of justice in the present, make her an interesting and multi-dimensional character. The supporting characters are equally engaging and fleshed out.
The pace is unrelenting, the writing both witty and dark. There are a couple of spicy scenes, but the main focus of the story is on the action (with a splash of romance). I enjoyed the book thoroughly and highly recommend it for fans of contemporary fantasy with a healthy dose of action adventure.
