Après l’attaque de Gryf sur les Légendaires, ceux-ci se réveillent prisonniers au cœur de la cité de Jaguarys. Gryf, lui, se retrouve affublé d’un étrange collier et d’un nouveau nom : Prince Anoth. Le souverain des Jaguarians lui révèle alors être son frère et lui raconte l’histoire de son peuple. Bien que l’heure soit aux retrouvailles, Shimmy oscille entre la vie et la mort, et Alysia est toujours menacée de destruction…

Cette série est de mieux en mieux à chaque tome ! J'adore l'univers et chacun des personnages. Découvrir un bout du passé de Gryf était super intéressant mais surtout, l'histoire est en train de totalement se transformer en quelque chose de plus grand et plus intense et... j'ai hâte de voir ça !

C'était un très bon arc, malheureusement ils sont toujours trop courts les arcs dans cette saga. L'histoire de Gryf est l'a préférée pour l'instant avec celle de Shimy. Le combat était cool, je suis contente de retrouver des ennemis qui avaient réussi à s'en sortir de nombreux tome avant, cela montre que l'auteur n'a pas oublié.

The summary of the book more or less says it all. We continue the story of Gryf and the Jaguarians, and we discover the identity of the mysterious character. But what will be the price to obtain the Horn of Sygma? And will the Legendaries succeed in saving Alysia from the divine wrath of the gods Dawn and Dusk?

With the language that the Legendaries (especially Gryf) use in this book, we're reminded that they are in fact adults even though they have the bodies of children. And still, the events carry a question of life or death, and a question about morality -- Danaël is still the moral compass and the sense of justice for the group.

Le résumé du livre plus ou moins dit tout. On continue l'histoire de Gryf et des Jaguarians, et on découvre l'identité de cette silhouette mystérieuse. Mais lequel sera le prix d'obtenir la Corne de Sygma? Et réussirent-ils les Légendaires de sauver Alysia de la colère divine des dieux Aube et Crépuscule?

Avec la façon de parler dont les Légendaires (notamment Gryf) utilisent dans ce livre, on reconnaît qu'ils sont en fait des adultes mêmes s'ils habitent les corps des enfants. Et toujours, les événements portent une question de la vie ou de la morte, et une question de la moralité -- Danaël reste le sens moral et le sens de la justice du groupe.

I'm really happy that I can finally give this series an 'I liked it review' without feeling a certain need to justify it (or round it up from a 2.5). In these two numbers, not only does Sobral take the proper time to delve into the history of one of the remaining main characters, but he does so at an appropriate pace and with enough context to make it flow naturally with the rest of the story.
I'm also happy to finally be given more of a glimpse into where the remaining adventures of this band of misfits is going to lead since, for the first time in a while, there's a clearer sense of where the narrative is going (with a pretty great cliffhanger in the final page-wide panel). There are still some aspects of the series that are delivered in a bit of heavy-handed way (the cloaked figure wasn't fooling anyone with the amount of foreshadowing that was being put on display), but amongst the backdrop of a more engaging and wider story, these moments tend to seem more comical rather than dense.
