The Chronicles of Fire and Ice is a book like no other. I have to say that I absolutely love this book and I can't wait for book two. The cover first off is so eye catching it grabs you and makes you want to read it right away. So I was so excited when I saw this book was going to be on a blog tour I had to sign up. I am so glad I did because when I started reading I was introduced to a new world and everyone who knows me knows I love angel stories and so when I started reading the blurb I was like oh man I am so gonna love this story and you know what I do because L.L. Hunter did such a superb job of describing this new world that the moment you start reading it you are captivated and can't put the book down.

In The Chronicles of Fire and Ice the world as we know it is dwindling away. The humans and the angels are both becoming extinct. The humans and the angels will come together to mate and create a new breed called Nephilim. Together the two races will be saved. But there is another race rumored to have become extinct and that is the archangels. The archangels are the strongest angels and they are protected but something sinister is going on and no one can quite figure out what is going on. There is a legend that says a child is born out of flame from an archangel that will save the world. Dyston Blackbell is entrusted with finding and protecting this child. So when he finds the child he is surprised she will be so close to him by training at the angel academy he is excited because he will be able to keep her safe from danger or so he thinks. Dyston never in a million years expected to fall in love with Scarlett. He is supposed to protect her and nothing more but the more time he spends with her the more he falls in love with her. This is a huge no no for the archangel and he is soon thrown out of heaven for falling in love with her.

So not only has he fallen for Scarlett but she soon finds out that she has special abilities and she is not sure if she should share them with anyone. As Scarlett gets closer to Dyston the two of them find out that they have enemies that will stop at nothing to destroy them. The Lucifites are dead set against anything normal and at peace so when they discover Dyston and Scarlett together they know they have to destroy them. They kidnap Dyston and Scarlett is determined to find out what happened to him and rescue him from The Lucifites. She never expected Lakyn Dyston's brother to be the one to kidnap his own brother. Scarlett will do anything to get Dyston back and what she does will surprise you. Never ever underestimate the power of love because Scarlett is determined to get Dyston back.

What she does next will shock you. Will Lakyn give Dyston back? What will happene when Lakyn finds out the truth about what Scarlett did to him? Will Lakyn choose the light or will he fall further into darkness? Man this is a MUST READ book because the twists and turns keep you at the edge of your seat reading faster and faster to see what happens to Lakyn and Dyston!

OK, I got about half way through this, hanging on to hope not unlike being held in the gallows. I think this book is like constipation. Blocked up.

The language is basic. The story is basic. The dialogue is basic.

The maturity level is young - probably should be 'tweens, and the main character, who is pretty boring, should be aged at somewhere about 13ish. Most definitely not 21.

A stilted and jerky read. Don't bother.

Lakyn.

That alone should be reason enough for everyone to read this book. Lakyn. Lakyn. Lakyn.

Oh, you mean a dreamy guy does not a review make? Oh, well, I guess I should then tell you what an insane world wind of awesomeness is crammed within the pages and how every second is like...

Laura is an incredible author. Her imagination is so out of this world. I know I will devour everything this author dreams up.

Oh, did I mention Lakyn??

Okay, okay, I'll stop with him.

So there's Scarlett and Dyston and an epic Angel Academy. There is a battle between good and evil and you know a whole hell of a lot more is about to happen before our heroes are in the clear. As most of you know, I don't normally read Angel novels, but I loved this. I think should stop reading this and go buy a copy... like now!

First Off the freakin' cliffhanger KILLED ME! Right off the bat I was sucked in and I loved it. There were aspects of the story I didn't like, for instance this scene:
"You know that was my first time?" she told him running her fingers through his hair.
"I'm surprised I beat my brother to it," he chuckled.
I mean call me a hopeless romantic, but shouldn't your first time be given to someone you love and not the enemy? I get why Scarlett did it but Lakyn didn't deserve the honor of being her first. I loved the tender moments between Scarlett and Dyston:
"I'm curious," she said, after a few minutes of just stroking and staring.
"You explored every inch of me and you're still curious?" he chuckled.
For a first book it was excellent full of love, adventure, and death. The way Laura writes you would think this is one of many books she has written! Now she needs to hurry up and write the next part.

I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review.
The main reason I wanted to read this book was because I participated in the blog tour, I did a character interview and I loved the characters. I really feel like the book summary sucks the reader in. I also loved that there was a school/ academy for the nephilim, I like the feel it gives the book. The only part if the book that really bothered me was that at times I felt that it jumped around and I had to look back and see if I missed chapters, I hadn't. But otherwise it was great.
I enjoyed the characters as I knew I would. Scarlett and Dyston were my favourites because they were the "good" guys. They both are genuine and care about ther people. The insta- love was a little disappointing because there was no build- up to their relationship, it was just there.then there is Larkyn. The "bad" guy who is oh so swoon worthy. I liked him, I hated him and now the more flashbacks that there are I am starting to slowly like him again. I can't wait to learn more about his life and see why is the way he is.
I really took pleasure in reading this new adult novel. It was a great read that kept me interested throughout with minor speed bumps. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a great angel read. I will for sure be continuing the series. I can't wait to see and learn more about these characters and what will happen in the future.

Scarlett Porter is new at Blackbell Academy. She was automatically admitted because she is a Legacy meaning that she is kind of VIP because her parents attended that school before. Being a Legacy also means privilege but she didn't want anybody to know because she didn't want to stand out among the others.

As soon as she meets with Dyston Blackbell she feels like she already know him. He is an awesome guy and especially the one she has been dreaming about since a long time. Dyston told her that she was his mission. He had to find the Legend, the daugther of an Archangel and she is the one. He needs to protect her because great danger awaits her.

Together and with the help of their friends, they will have to fight against the ones who need her to begin a war. Will they be able to say their world? Does love will succeed?

My Opinion:
Another very good reading. I am so happy and grateful that I won that book thank you to L.L. Hunter about that. That was my first book that I read about angels and I really enjoy it. I really like the characters, especially the lovely Dyston. I am still not sure about his brother Lakyn, I will have to read the next book to get to see what will happen with him.

Can't wait to see what's next. I recommend that book without hesitation!!

Wow. It's been a long time since I read a book that was so poorly written. There is little flow to the plotline, and what there is of it is so rushed along it's ridiculous. There are gaping holes ALL OVER the place in this book.

Fire and Ice indeed!
I wasn't sure what to expect when I first started reading The Chronicles of Fire and Ice, but since I'm such a huge fan of angels and academies I couldn't put it down. I read it in one evening. How can you go wrong at a school filled with angels?

Fallen angels have mated with humans and created a race called Nephilim. Because of this, the world is changing. Both the human race and the angelic race are dwindling and archangels exist only in stories. However, legend says that a half archangel born from fire will save the world.

The last thing Scarlett expected when she came to the academy was to meet two amazingly powerful brothers or to fall in love. She only intended to learn more about her Traits and her lineage.
When evil forces begin to reign down on the academy and on Scarlett, she must decide if she'll risk exposing the truth behind her lineage, or protect the man that has her heart. Is being cast from heaven worth love?

This was a fun and easy read. I was transport to a world unlike any other and am looking forward to book two! I'm a fan of Fire & Ice!

So before I get into it, I should say I've rated this a 4 rather than a 5 mostly because of my own interests. I love paranormal romance, but reading the author's blurb, I wasn't sure if her world view and mine weren't too far apart for me to enjoy. Well I did really enjoy the book, even though I wouldn't say I loved it. The different ideas of the "Fall" and Nephilim coming to replace most humans? That was a fascinating idea. I love how the main character Scarlet just seems to roll with whatever is thrown at her, from falling in love, shockingly finding her Trait. The building tension of family dynamics with the Blackbell family was an enjoyable plot the whole book through. Pst- I don't agree with Scarlet and I like Lakyn better than Dyston. The fast friendships Scarlet makes at school and how the people become important in her life are great to see.

I think like it happens often, you never know if a book will have a good story, until you start reading it. The story sucks you in from the very beginning, and I thought it was very interesting to have a story where angels and humans can have children and they call them Nephilim. The more I kept reading, the more I realized I didn't want to put it down lol. I sure look forward to book 2 to come out and I highly recommend it to everyone. It's a very enjoyable read and the characters are amazing :-)

I have just finished reading this fantastic Paranormal Romance by L.L. Hunter. Excellently written, with great insight and a significant depth to the characters it is a very enjoyable read. The story follows the story of Scarlet and her journey to discover her Angelic destiny. I was pleasantly suprised that there was also an underlying story and that other characters and their journeys were also explored to some degree.

The story was sweet, fast paced and exciting. A great read, and i would certainly recommend it to others who also enjoy Angel romance.

Got this book as part of the stuff your kindle day. The storyline sounds cool enough, but you’re whipped through major plot points at breakneck speed. Everyone just happens to know exactly what’s going on and goes along without question.

It’s also told from an omniscient point of view, but it bounces around between peoples inner thoughts which makes it confusing. For example, you’re getting told everything that the main character is thinking, feeling, seeing and then all of a sudden there’s a line about Kats internal feelings and we switch right back to the main character.

There’s no true world or character building and it’s too choppy and quick to enjoy. It could be an interesting read if it gets fleshed out a lot more.

This book has a very good premise and storyline, but it was executed poorly. The author seemed to jump around in some areas or to leave thoughts only half written. While there are some very good parts there is also a lot of work that could be done to improve this book. As much as I like the storyline, I do t think I will be reading anymore of this series.

I enjoyed this story. It takes the typical academy story and adds in a history where angels existed, their descendants are alive and a pesky war is in the making. The descendants of angels make it a fun and interesting story and add to the fun. Enjoyed meeting all the characters and the central love story of Scarlett and Dyston and what could be in their future. Had to see what they faced and who was the good and bad guys in the story.

Scarlett is a Nepiim and she is going to be twenty-one and now what her trait is. Unknown to her Dyston and Lakyn are looking for her. We meat a lot of other characters in this book. What do Dyston and Lakyn really want from her? What will her friends do to help her? All For Power???.

Incredible world building, characters that leap off the page and into your heart, anxiety-inducing tensions and adventures - this is a remarkable first book to kick off The Legend of The Archangel series. All the desire, the power plays, the tangible suffering of the cast of likeable people/beings - just yes. Yes.

This was a great beginning to this story. Going to an academy for angels. Deception, love, friends, betrayal. Does end on a cliffhanger. But absolute great read.

I really wanted to love this book but it just was not for me. The story and characters came across very juvenile to me that I thought I was reading a novel for tweens but with the adult content in the book that couldn't be the case. I will not continue with the series.

Some interesting world building and decent character development in this book. Unfortunately for me there was something put downable and forgettable, if I was t actively reading it I didn’t think about it and took a minute to read back into the story.

Do not read

I'm sorry but this book sucked. The book was all over the place, the story line sucked and there were tones of mistakes so I wouldn't recommend this book to anybody and plus I got stuck reading the book because of how messy it was. My advice to you is don't read the book.
