A Need So Insatiable

“You've owned me from the moment I walked into that music room. You've wrapped yourself in my heart and mind. I can’t get you out. I don’t want to.” ~ Rafael Van Rees

Sophie Fisher’s life is on fire. If she’s not ducking around corners or slipping out of windows to escape the debt collectors her father's death has left knocking on her door, she’s dealing with her rebellious, fifteen-year-old sister, Lilli. And, as if that’s not enough, Rafael Van Rees crashes into her life—literally—bringing with him a past the public has no idea of. Can she unravel his mysteries before he unravels her, or will his presence finally force her to face the demons she's trying to outrun?

Rafael Van Rees prides himself on being in control of his destiny, music and women. As far as he is concerned, his past is a black cloud in the distance--until he meets Sophie, that is, and his world spins out of control in more ways than one. He knows the darkest sins and secrets eventually reveal themselves, but when it comes to Sophie, he'll stop at nothing to protect her from his past. Even if it kills him.

Well

This should have been a five star book. The story, plot were all designed in the right way but not executed the way it should have been. It dragged at parts that should have been simple and sped at parts that should have been more detailed, causing the flow at times to be too slow or too fast.

Maybe it is just me. The story had a lot of humor and I laughed and it did engage me and I really liked the writing style. So please don't let this review, sway you away from the story, because the author is very talented.

MY RATING ☆☆☆☆ A Need So Insatiable (Hearts #1) by Cecilia Robert

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I have to be honest and just point out that normally I kind of dodge these kinds of reads and tend to hunt down the dark, twisted, stomach curdling books, so sitting down and reading this I was very apprehensive, but putting those thoughts aside and pulling up my big girls pants I actually quite enjoyed this and am so glad I was gifted a copy of this..

EXPRESSIONLESS

I loved how Sophie was a strong willed women who rolled with the punches with trying to keep herself and her sister above water after losing both parents and finding out that her father had borrowed from a money shark which had then become Sophie's debt..

A light hearted, sexy as sin read with an element of intrigue that keeps you reading till the end..

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I enjoyed the build up to the connection between these two, it wasn't insta there was that guessing element throughout that had me wanting to uncover the full story..

UNTOUCHABLE

I need her to know me. Not the young, reckless version of me who'd done things even the devil would shy away from. Just me. The recluse boy she met in that music room years ago. The first time I saw her I was eleven

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

You don't lose until you lose, and you haven't lost yet. You fon't give up until you've tried and fallen, and even then, you stand and try again. And again.

"You're not ready for my kiss, Sophie, when I finally kiss you, really kiss you, baby,' he says in a dark, low voice. There'll be no doubt about my feelings for you, I'll fill every little part of this beautiful, curvy body of yours.I won't kiss you Sophie. I'll be priming you for what I've wanted to fo from the second I saw you."

I'm as powerless around her now, as I was when I was eleven

Gift copy provided by author in exchange for an honest review

I really wanted to LOVE this book. After reading the synopsis, I signed up for a readers copy which was provided, and I always want to love books provided by the author/representatives. But it just was not to be.

I like the main characters well enough. Sophie is an unconventional beauty with a feisty nature and some interesting street smarts. Raphael is a fine enough alpha male specimen with the world at his feat, and a ego the size of Texas. They were both likeable and what you expected. As well, many of the secondary characters were likable enough; Sophie's sister Lilli, Sophie's friends Dani and Jace, family friend Simone, & Raphael's partner Hawk. And the villains were portrayed again, as expected. But I struggled GREATLY with the plot and many details and settings AND discrepancies in character setup completely killed it for me. The entire storyline starting unraveling at about 25% in where I realized I felt there was a distinct lack of plausibility to which is the only reason I call it out. I am all for suspending reality (name of my book blog is called Suspending Reality), but it has to be done REALLY well to make it work.

I started "documenting" all my objections to the story but I don't want to tear anyone apart. I'll simply say it just didn't work for me at I wouldn't recommend this read. There are too many options for angsty love stories, sexy reads where tortured souls mates save each other from a bad men. Its not to say I won't try other books by the author, but the Hearts series is not one I will look for.

I received a copy of this book via the fifty shades group for a honest review.

I must admit I nearly didn't request a copy because I found the title a little cheesy, but I read the blurb and was excited about the story.

I'm sorry to say, this book just wasn't for me. If you're a fan of overly romantic mills and boonsesqe romance where the slightest touch makes her fall apart, and his romantic proclamations come in thick and fast, you will love it.

Sadly, that type of story leaves my blood running cold and that's exactly what this book is.

I highlighted a few sayings along the way, so you have an idea of what type of story/writing style you are getting:

'I knew he was big when I touched him downstairs' - downstairs really - that's how we're going to refer to it.

'I push my ass up as he drapes his body around mine. He groans deeply and sinks his teeth into my shoulder. I scream his name, sweet pain and pleasure racking my body. I bury my face in the pillow and scream again. The image of a male lion holding the female down during mating flashes in my mind. I'm so wet right now' - nope they aren't having sex here - if they were, I could kind of understand the biting thing but without the sex. And the animal references in a sex scene, wrong so wrong.

'The only sound in the room is our ragged breathing, and the thumping of my heart. And probably a chorus from the cupids, I think, rejoicing that their darts had finally made their mark' - I think a little bit of sick escaped from my mouth at this moment.

Like I said, if you like this type of book, you'll love it. The writing is not bad, the editing is a hell of a lot better than some titles out there. It's just not for me, and next time, I might listen to my gut to avoid a book that I don't think's for me. I hate pulling a writers review average down, but I can't rate it higher than I personally judge it, as i'm rating it for me, not for anyone else. Sorry :(

This book was so, so, SO good!!!! I fell in love with it from the beginning. The only thing that might be fixed is the type-o's. But hey, who doesn't have type-o's?? I have my fair share of them a lot. I love the characters. I love how Sophie is a strong, brave women and not one of those stupid damsels in distress that need to be saved all the time. I love her humor in the book, and how she takes care of her younger sister Lilli when their parents died. I also fell in love with the character Rafael with his tall, dark, and mysterious thing going on!!! I find it so romantic how they were childhood friends, and after being torn apart from each other's lives so violently and being brought back together again because they were meant for each other/soul-mates is so beautiful. I hope there will be a second book about them starting a family because they're life together is really interesting!!!

:O <= jaw is on the ground. This.Was.Killer.

Warning: I received this as in ARC in exchange for an honest review, and that is what I do.

Song Choice: "The Story" by 30 Seconds to Mars, "You're All I Have" by Snow Patrol, "True Affection" by The Blow, "Falling" by Florence + the Machine

First Thoughts: I gotta tell you I don't read a whole lot of Contemporary Fiction, its not because I am against them or anything, I am just more drawn to the sci-fi, paranormal, fantasy stufff. But Damn, damn, damn, this book had me hook line and sinker right away. I loved this. Loved it from page one to the last page. It was spectacular, there was enough "action/adventure", mystery, and romance that I couldn't pull myself even if i wanted to. So yes I totally recommend this for all readers around - especially if you are a fan of contemporary romances you will LOVE THIS, no doubt in my mind.

Thoughts on Plot: Holy sexual tension. It's almost right off the bat, and I love it. So over all, this book was told in two different points of view, and I have to admit usually when this happens i still think the book "belongs" aka the story is for the girl - just how my apparently very sexist mind works XD, anyways...but for me. I think that this book belonged more towards Rafe than it did for Sophie I mean they had a pretty good equal amount of time, and backstory, and what nots, but for me it was more of Rafe's story. Anyways with that said, let me go on more about the plot before I start (and probably never stop talking about Rafe) So like I mentioned I don't read a lot of contemp. fiction but I think this is even a little different from most, its set in Vienna, and the main characters both are in the opera world which is crazy awesome, but don't ever think that takes away from their bad-assery because it doesn't. This have to deal with two people who have such difficult past, and their past are coming to bite in the ass - a little bit literally ;) *suggestive eyebrows* Anyways there were a few things I was going O.O whoa, a few times I was going *fans self* other times I was pretty sure my heart was going to race out of my chest. It was just over all an amazing, amazing read <3

Characters:

(I don't always do these)

My Sophie:

Rafe:

About them:

Sophie: I LOVED HER. She is definitely not what I was expecting, well I shouldn't expect anything other than a very strong willed, amazing, totally kickass MC from Cecilia but still. I love that when I found out that she was an opera singer, she still shocked me. She has a piercing on her lip, wears combat boots, and drives a motorcycle, yeah she screams awesome-ness. Anyways. There is more too it, also she is stubborn as hell, very strong-willed like i mentioned before, and she doesn't let the world beat her down even though life hasn't dealt her an easy hand. She does the best that she can and excels. she doesn't let her mind fall head over heels for a pretty face aka Rafe she makes him work a little. She really was an amazing character I loved her <3

Rafe: *fans self just thinking about him* Hot, hot, hot man. He is perfect mixture of Alpha male, but also still not so alpha it feels like he is claiming a prize rather than loving a woman. And trust me, he knows how to love a woman ;) There is a lot, A LOT of history that we go through with him and every time my heart broke a little but I also respected the hell out of him because as Sophie rose above, so did Rafe and he did become such a better person in the end. I loved him there are so many sides to his man be prepared to be shocked, wowed, and falling head over heels in love with your newest book boyfriend - well you are going to have to fight me for him first ;)

The side characters: I loved them all and um Cecilia - we are going to have a chat about when Hawk and Dani's book is coming out because I need it like yesterday ;) haha <3 xoxox

The end: It was a good ending for them <3

A Need So Insatiable follows the story of Sophie and Rafael. Sophie's life is a mess. She's struggling to deal with debt collectors that are after her since her father's death. She also dealing with the fact that she has become an instant parent, having to take care of her rebellious younger sister. Just when she thinks nothing else can happen to her, she meets the mysterious Rafael. They share an instant attraction.....But people and things are not always as they seem.......

Rafael loves to control everything. As far as he is concerned, his past is just that, in the past. That is until he sees Sophie again. He tries to stay away, but he just can't. He doesn't want to loose her, but is afraid of how Sophie will react once she knows knows his past and secrets. But that is a risk that he is willing to take.......

A Need So Insatiable starts off with a bang. I was hooked from the first page, just wanting to know more. Who is after Sophie? What do they want? Who is Rafael and what is his connection to Sophie??

The chemistry between Sophie and Rafael is HOT!! I couldn't get enough of them. I really enjoyed their love story. Not only was the romance wonderful, but the action, mystery, and secrets kept me intrigued. There was never a dull moment. My only complaint is that I didn't want their story to end. I hope we get to see more of Rafael and Sophie in other books :)

This is my first book that I've read by Cecilia Robert and she has made a big fan out me. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author!

“You've owned me from the moment I walked into that music room. You've wrapped yourself in my heart and mind. I can’t get you out. I don’t want to.” ~Rafael

"For the first time in my life, I'm not afraid to let somebody peel the layers that define me. See Me" ~Rafael

"Every girl dreams of a man, a prince who'll sweep her off her feet, and love her like his world is ending"....."I've found my prince. He's broken, a fighter and a lover....."But he's mine. Truly, Deeply, Mine"~Sophie

Omg, Omg, Omg, first off Rafael is HOT. seriously HOT. He's sexy, talented, and lethal as hell. He can poses me any day of the week. I'm ready and willing. oh Baby.

what can I say about this book? Well if you must know I loved it. not only did it have a great story line that pulled me in right away but it has hot guys, action and Almost sex. lol You'll understand once you read it.

I'm so lucky to be one of the firsts to read this. Cecilia Robert keeps getting better and better with the hot sexiness in her books. the kind of sexy that leaves you panting so much that I had to put the book down and get some air. I mean really. :)

I love how Soph and Raf work together. Their story is not simple and sweet. Its all kinds of messed up but they ate both strong and stubborn so messy is what they do best.

oh, did I forget to mention Hawk? please forgive me.. Sir yummy himself is just as sexy.

You can totally relate to every character in this book. From the sexy phone sex goddess Jace down to the closed off Designer Dani. They we're all so much a family that it made me want my friends close by..

Anyway, this is Definitely a book you want to read. It has everything all wrapped up in a neat little package just begging for you to rip in to it..

** MEGAN'S 4.5 STAR REVIEW **

I loved this story.

Wow.

Wow!!! Literally, eyes bugged out in pure awe. LOVED IT!!! Loved the characters, loved the plot, LOVED the opera. And I’m am not a true opera fan. But seeing these characters so invested in what THEY like and how much their life is using their beautiful voice- GAH I wish I was a character just to sit in the audience and listen for real.

Sophie is strong and such a funny witty(even though I don’t think she knows just how much) woman! She is totally kick ass kinda gal. I love her. You think she’s going to be this shy, reserve chick when you first meet her, when you find out what all she’s dealing with but she shocks you. She’s in a bit of a major predicament-funds are incredibly low and family structure isn’t there (having lost both her parents). She’s running low on happiness and love and warmth. She’s the guardian of her younger teenage sister which is hell in itself. She does, however have a great support system. Her friends. When someone…bad… comes bounding after her they are there to help her and she vows she can and will do it on her own. This is the major dun dun dunnnnn part of the story but I really don’t want to talk about it. Three, I don’t want to give it away. Two you WILL find out soon enough when you read this because, lets face- YOU SO WANT TO READ THIS!!! One, I want to talk about Rafael!!!!!

Rafael. oh my….let me take a breath….ohmygodheissodevineandomgiwanthim

When Sophie first sees Rafael she is just as hooked as I am. She can’t stop it or control the want.

Some people want the fire, but don’t want to get burned. Rafael is my fire, and I want to toss myself into the flames, burn completely

The instant he appeared on the page I was a goner. Done. Wrap me up and send me off. I loved him immediately. There is just something about him that comes across through words that my heavens I wish he was real!!

You know when you read and in your head you think something and 99% of the time it doesn’t happen the way your head played it out well….I thought something the instant they meet and with in no time my thoughts were exactly what happened. I LOVED THAT!!!!!

I wanted to scale the walls and kiss her. Hold her. Stare into her eyes.

He is such a spectacular character. Trying to hold back when he can’t and doesn’t really want to. I love how he talks and how he acts with her. How bad and how much he needs her, wants her. It’s amazing to actually see it come through and it not be only likable. I can’t stop saying love. It’s truly how I feel. He has his own secrets and as the book goes it makes you want to know more and more what they are.

I love their connection, their banter, they sexy flirty (it’s not over the top flirting either, it’s mellow but still brought a smile to my face) Even though they wanted to try and not do anything about them, they couldn’t stop it.

“I wanted to see you, why are you drinking?”

“I feel like I’m losing control of my life. What’s your reason?”

“I’m about to lose my entire universe."

The plot, although not new (people troubles-money troubles), it adds much suspense to the story revolved around Rafael and Sophie. I kept me intrigue on every page. Even between Soph and Rafael there is some suspense…. When you figure out it at first you are intrigued and you want to know desperately bad!! Along the way these secrets are revealed but other are kept until that perfect jaw dropping moment. Everyone has a past. Everyone isn’t perfect.

There are a million roads that lead to a million other places. A road to forgetfulness and the effort of drowning your past; a road to fuck-ups and having to move on. But there’s only one true road that leads to what I’ve been searching for. The one that brings me to you.

4.5 million times blue butterfly everywhere stars from me!!!!!

This book is…. Arghhhh.. it’s good! Even when I was still on 5% I know this book is good.

Their love story was began because of a blue butterfly..
description

Rafael is a young talented famous conductor. And Sophie is an opera singer. The two of them have met when they were kid. Well, Rafael is someone important for Sophie and vice versa actually. But then everything happened and they’re separated for 14 years. Until they finally meet again in a music room of theater.. But too bad Sophie didn’t remember him at all.

Sophie’s life is not as easy as a normal girl in her age. She should fight against the debt collector because her father owed them amounts of money. And she should pay them back after the death of her father.

When he was eleven Rafael promised Sophie to marry her. And asked her to wait for him. But in those 14 years he didn’t show up. Why he did it is a mystery. This book is so mysterious! Making me sooo curious about what actually happened to them in the past? Who actually Rafael is? Why he suddenly disappeared after his parents died? Why he didn't tell Sophie the truth?

“Promise to wait for me, Sophie. I’ll come for you, and take care of you. Even it kills me”

Even after Rafael told her the truth about who actually he is, there are still so many mysteries that haven’t revealed yet. This book really make you can’t put it down because of the curiosity.

“You could have let me believe we didn’t know each other, but you didn’t. Why?”
“Because you gave me a butterfly”
description

This book is well written with dual POV making you understand the situations from both POV. I like the characters too.
Rafael, he is…… arghhh all women dream guy, I can say. He is so protective and possessive. Slightly similar with Christian Grey, he also has a dark past, but he is not a kinky.
Sophie, a very stubborn, strong and brave woman. Spend her life to protect her little sister and protect their life from the debt collectors.

I got bored in the middle because I find it too slow to reveal the mystery. Well, because I’m too impatient LOL. But it’s getting more interesting again in the end.

Even though maybe it’s not my fav book, but I’m so looking forward for the next book.

Cecilia, I want to let you know what a beautiful story you have written . Young love that attempts to rekindle and blossom after years of separation, lies and misunderstandings.
Sophie & Rafael (Arie) had known each other as children, Sophie was a feisty, sassy, smart little girl with beautiful dreams that always made Arie smile even on his darkest days.
Rafael (Arie) was a child afflicted with learning disabilities who excelled in the arts but was always striving for the love of his father. He had always thought girls were silly and foolish but some how Sophie opened his heart and made a place for herself inside. A family tragedy pulls them apart and in different directions. They haven't seen each other in 12 years but neither of them has forgotten the promises they had made to each other.
Rafeal grows into a handsome, sexy , talented man who certainly has no shortage of female companions to warm his bed. He prefers to keep his private life "private" and his companions at a distance. That all changes the day Sophie comes barreling back into his life and knocks him off kilter with her swagger and combat boots.
Sophie Fisher is a beautiful opera singer with a sassy attitude, and a filthy smart mouth , edgy piercings and a beautiful butterfly tattoo.
She finds Rafael familiar, irresistible and oh so irritating but is unsure why he affects her so. The secrets and truths finally reveal themselves and their love for each other becomes insatiable. The love and emotional bond that they have once shared as children Is neither lost nor forgotten but will it be able to withstand the truth finally being revealed. Can they survive to move past this and learn to love again?.

A Need So Insatiable is an amazing story of two lost souls finding their way to one another.

Sophie is a strong, smart, funny and lovable women who has lost two very important people in here life. She is trying to raise her sister while struggling to make ends meet. As she struggles to make a life for her and her sister, more problems come raining down. Debt collectors waiting what is owed to them regardless of who owes them. For Sophie, that would be her father. He died and left his debt for her to pay and she will pay that debt at any cost.

Rafael is struggling to put his past demons rest. He left Vienna in hope to forget all the bad things/decisions he had made. One night changes everything for Rafael when he loses the one person that has helped him more than anyone. He takes his guilt and moves away. 8 years later he returns, he never thought he would see her again and once he lays eyes on her again there is no turning back. Will she remember him. Maybe, only time will tell. With a need so strong, Rafael falls head first and against all the warnings he is given he just can't stay away. The things he has done to survive, are the things that hold him back from being with the one person completely. Fear of losing her is something he just can't accept.

Sophie will never forget the boy who stole her heart all those years ago. He is forever in her mind and heart but will she be able to open her heart again when secrets come to light and the person she has fallen for is the one person she never thought she would see again?

For Sophie and Rafael, their demons rise to the surface and their fears come face to face. With a connection so strong, there is nothing that they can face that will break them apart.

I’m going to keep this short and sweet, and this is solely my opinion at no fault to the author or the writing style. This story was a good but I felt like it was a little too much in one story. The characters had a lot going on and I couldn’t decide who they were supposed to really be therefore never really forming a bond with any of them.

There was a musical, business and underground mafia feel to it that didn’t really gel together for me. When I thought I finally got a handle on who they are, another curve was thrown in adding to the complexity of the characters. As much as I wanted to find the hero and the heroine likeable, I kept getting distracted and annoyed when I couldn’t wrap my head around who they were supposed to be.

This sadly was not the story for me but please don’t let me stop you from giving it a try and see what you think. I will keep a look out for more of this authors work, because me not enjoying wasn't due to the writing style or the author, just the characters.

I loved, loved, loved this book.
I was drawn in from the first chapter and read the whole book in one evening.
A need so insatiable follows the story of Sophie and Rafael. Sophie's life is in a bad way. Her father has passed away, leaving her to look after her younger sister and dealing with debt collectors.
Then she meets Rafael. AND WOWWWWW what a man!!!! He's controlling, sexy and mighty fine,, but he is struggling with his own demons.
There a instant connection between Sophie and Rafael, but things are not always what they seem!?
All the secrets, twists and turns keep you drawn in from start to finish.
The story is told in both Sophie's and Rafael's POV. I loved this as I think it's makes the characters more complex and brings more to the story.

I'd defiantly recommend this book and I will defiantly be looking out for more books from Cecelia Robert.

Thank you the Cecelia Robert and the Fifty shades support group for the opportunity to review this great book.

Cecilia Roberts has crafted a beautiful romance that is rooted in one week from their childhood – a moment in time when Sophie made a sad little boy smile and stole his heart. The first time Sophie bumps into Rafael she feels a connection that she can't explain. Rafael is stunned to see Sophie again but she doesn't recognize him as the boy she gave a butterfly to. As the story unfolds we find out that Sophie is dealing with debt collectors after her father's death and is trying to put all the pieces together while protecting her sister. Rafael steps in as a protector all the while wishing he were a better man and worthy of Sophie. We get to witness the rebirth of this romance with an even deeper connection between Sophie and Rafael as they reveal the scars of their pasts to each other. There is fabulous chemistry and incredibly steamy sex scenes through this discovery along with stellar supporting characters to keep you entrenched in their journey.

This book was a crazy intense story. I loved it from first chapter to last. The attraction between Rafael and Sophie is smoking hot right from the first moment they see each other, it just gets hotter with each meeting. What I loved about this book was, just how many hidden secrets and twists and turns it took. I thought I had it all sussed out from the start. She's a feisty, artistic, woman with lots of amazing talents. He's a gorgeous, dark musician with lots of secrets and a bit of a temper ;). Just how wrong could I be. Yes, the initial things are still correct but there is so much more to them and their backgrounds. Lots of surprises and links in their past. It was all done so well, and worked out perfectly. All the characters seem to have so much going on, that I was questioning their stories too. Jam packed with action and intense scenes. Excellent read!

Given a copy in exchange for a honest review....

This was a great read who I really enjoyed. I started off reading the unedited version but that didn't take away from the story at all. I finished with the final copy and I was even more pleased.

I loved that Raphael or Arie and Sophie met as children, and just knew they were soul mates... I was lost in the mystery of her not remembering him but once all the pieces came together I was in awe... so much mystery of what was happening, what were these secrets, will it really destroy them, I loved it.. I never felt like I could predict the outcome because I would have been sooo wrong!

The POV from both sides was well written, the love and loyalty from both sides was just beautiful, and we couldn't have a great story with betrayal! Overall, Cecilia Robert did amazing!

If you want to read a great story of mystery, some action, and lots of romance, this is the book for you...

I was given this book to read and to give an honest review from a group on Goodreads.
I give it 4 stars!
I really enjoyed this book! I was hooked after the first chapter and I couldn’t put it down! I needed to know who was after them right away!
It is about Sofie who is dodging a particular debt collector from her father’s past while trying her best to raise her teenage sister and Rafael, who is a rich and powerful man whom has a huge secret.
I enjoyed that it went back and forth between Sofie and Rafael’s POV. I always like knowing what each character is thinking.
I just felt the ending was rushed and didn’t like how it ended. I felt there should be more to the story in that book! But seeing there is a 1.5 part to this series I guess we will get more of Sofie and Rafael.
I would really like to see Hawk get his own story. I liked him in this book.
Overall it was a great read and would recommend this to friends!

What would you say if you found your long lost love? well I don't know what I would do but the characters in this book do. Now I admit I was slow to start reading this one. but once I got started it was east to get lost in the story.

Arie (Rafael) is everything you could want in your prince charming even with a darken past.

Sophie well our girl here is strong sexy and oh gods given the crap end of the stick after her parents die.

now you would think yeah this is like any other story out there but its not. its everything you ever hope for if you lost your first, you one love. through the obstacles that are given to each of them they find their happy ending together. now I will warn you its seems like a cliff hanger but im not sure if it truly is. I cant wait to see what else comes for these 2 and the rest of the gang.

would I recommend this book OH HELL YES! take a chance Cecilia has defently out done her self!

I was given this book for an honest from the author.

4.75 stars

This was a great book! With the minor grammatical and misspellings, it was a great book to read. I couldn't put it down. I had to keep reading to find out what happens with Sophie and Rafael.

Sophie, is left to take care of her sister and her father's debt after he passes. Sophie is strong willed, stubborn and determined to get thru the struggles she's dealing with.

Rafael, returns back to Vienna, to take a position as a conductor. Rafael, is an over-bearing alpha male, stubborn, egotistical, but he had this soft side of him that no one knows.

The book had your heartache, on the edge of your seat and wanting more from the characters. I can't wait to read more from this author.

A Need So Insatiable
By: Cecilia Robert

**ARR copy given by author or honest review**

The first few pages started out a little slow; however, I became more and more captivated with each page. I loved watching these two come together and reconnect. I like that she accepted his past, but in my opinion she accepted some things too easily without explanation. The more I read the more I wanted to read. Wanting to know what was going to happen and what were Rafael’s secrets regarding Sophie’s mother. I loved the duel POV. There is a slight cliffhanger, but most loose ends were tied up nicely. The ending still left me wanting more and cannot wait for the second book.

I actually really liked this book! The sexual tension was insane between Raf and Sophie, and frustrating for me! I loved the storyline but wish Sophie would have given Raf a chance to explain things before just taking off. And honestly I thought his reasons for not telling her and the guilt he felt was unjustified. I would have been mad if Sophie didn't come to terms with it. But I am REALLY looking forward to a next book which I would assume there is one about Hawk and Dani.....ooo that would be great!!

I was provided an ARR of this book for an honest review. Thank you!

A Need so Insatiable, Hearts 1, Cecilia Robert.
Review from Jeannie Zelos Book reviews.
Well, this looked like the potential for lots of drama, emotion, sex...lots of hot and sensual sex..and it had it in spades. I loved Sophie, and of course who couldn't love Rafael. Its one of those novels though where even though its contemporary romance and not fantasy, itt requires the reader to suspend belief in the normalities of life to enjoy it. For example Sophie has no money, a run down house, a business that’s been closed a while and needs major work, and yet the bank says yes? She's only 24 and yet as well as singing professionally, working at Hearts, she's got time to work herself on the revamp of the restaurant. Then there's Rafael. Man of mystery. He's Hot, very Hot! Sees Sophie and wants her – and what he wants he gets. It seems to me everyone but Sophie seems to know what’s going on and Rafael at only 25 has done an awful lots to become the successful composer and conductor he is, along with being business owner and still having a toe in the murky background he shared with Kravic. That’s a lot to achieve at that age for both of them, along with their plans for Tony at the end..just wouldn't happen....still, accept it and you'll enjoy the story, focus too much on realities and it will spoil. Make your choice :) For me I decided its fiction-land and I’m going to let the impossible pass – Alice, three impossible things before breakfast springs to mind! Though I’d have been happier if Rafael had been 30 ish....
The story starts with mysteries. Loads of them. What happened to Sophie and Lilli's parents? Who is Kravic apart from shark money lender and what does he want – seems to desire more than money. For the smallish sum Sophie owes he's spending a lot of time and manpower so he must want something else. Then there's Rafael who clearly has some connection Sophie doesn't know about, her friend and mentor Simone who also has a close connection to both Sophie and Rafael and yet tells Sophie nothing. Why doesn't she remember meeting Rafael all those years ago...answers trickle out gradually as new characters are introduced and it becomes a fairly tight knit group. I'm hoping now I’ve got to know them that we'll read stories from others in the group, Sophie’s friends, Raphael's friends and business colleagues. Once Sophie and Raphael finally get together well – wow – he's still under the three month sex ban from his poker game with Hawk ( and Hawk needs his own story, BTW...) but in the sensuality heat there's a lot he can- and does - still do. I could see the train crash coming from all the secrets, and when it hit it was dragged out to maximise drama in just the way I love :) well, happy is nothing without the sad to balance it. It's priced at £1.85 for 288 pages on kindle.
Overall a fun read, but you do need to suspend realities to really enjoy it.
Stars: four – would have been five if there'd been a bit more realism :)

I received the arc for a review.

I'll start out by saying the book is amazing. Upon reading the pitch, I believed it to be a typical NA romance. Turns out to be far from that. Every aspect of the plot is a mystery that leaves you wondering how it all ties together.

The characters, Sophie and Raphael, knew each other as kids, but Sophie only knew his by his middle name, Arie. Circumstances led Raphael to leave, and for Sophie to believe him to be dead. So when he reenters her life, his time as Raphael and not Arie, she doesn't make the connection. Raphael, though, was in love with her as a kid, and now that she's back in his life, he vows to never let her go. So first it's the wonder of when will she realize who he is.

Then because of her father's past mistakes, she owes money to Kravic, a powerful man, kinda like a mob boss. In the midst of the danger, we learn that Raphael himself has a past with these people as well.

And then there's Sophie's deceased mom, who also has connections to Raphael.
Suffice to say, this is a very interesting, intriguing novel that will leave you on the edge of your seat wondering what's going to happen next.

Stuff that could be better: the novel needs a quick line edit. There's a few nagging errors:
-chapter 8 and 10, the "Sophie" title as a colon after it, while none of the others do.
-pg.74 "Goodnight, Ladies." Ladies shouldn't be capatalized.
-pg.92 "Now, now Raf." A comma needs to go before his name.
-pg.95 I like sitting around graveyards," he waves his hand around the cemetery. The comma should be a period, and then 'he' needs to be capatalized.
-chapters 17, 36 and 37 starts on the same page that the previous chapters end on.
-pg.235 there's a bracket in place of 'I'
-This happens a few times throughout: when someone asks a question, the dialogue tag (ex. "he said") should be 'he said' not 'He said.' even though the question technically ended the sentence. Just the rules grammar.

Also, I found Jace's characterization very off. At first, because of the name, I thought she was a guy. It seemed like she was a gay male friend. Then when I learned she was a girl, I never got that feeling. To me, again, she seemed like a gay guy, and not at all like a girl. If the characterization was better, I think it'd fix the issue.

Besides the few errors, overall I found the writing very riveting. It has a good flow and a great tone. Since the book is told in a dual POV, the author nailed down each character's voice amazingly.

This is said to be the first of a series. I really want to know if book two is more of thier story or someone else's. Maybe it's Hawk's and Dani's...there seems to be starting something there....

Anyone who likes some mystery, action and romance, this is the book for them!

I was not sure what to expect when starting this book. But just a little into the first few chapters and I was hooked. The characters are unique and intriguing. The backdrop of Venice with Opera and love is breathtaking and that is just the icing on the cake. This book has mystery, intrigue, love, hate, blackmail, death, lust, music, lost love found again, friendship and the bonds of family that extend further then mere blood lines.
We get to meet Sophia and Lilli. They are sisters who recently lost their father and their mother is dead as well. Sophia is doing her best to give Lilli everything she needs. This entails keeping the house running, working on her Opera career, trying to reopen her mother’s restaurant, start a part time job, and deal with large amounts of debt left from her dad without much money left in the bank. Sophia is the definition of a strong and determined woman. The only problem is she tries to do it all by herself, she has difficulty asking for and accepting help when she needs it. Some would say she is very stubborn. That is until she meets Rafael.
Rafael is a gorgeous unique individual with a very dark side that Sophia is drawn too. Sophia is quick to find out that there are reasons that she is so drawn to Rafael. He has a past that he is not proud of and many secrets that he finds hard to bare to Sophia. But he is determined to keep her in his life and make good on his promise that he made to her when he was 11 years old. He stated, “I’m going to marry you one day,” and she replied “I will wait for you”. Raphael is a very complex individual that had a rough childhood, with loss and difficulty with his learning disabilities.
When Rafael and Sophia come face to face for the first time in years, there is an automatic attraction that they both feel. The only problem is that Sophia doesn’t have any idea who Rafael is or why she should already know him, all she knows is that he is amazing at what he does and is amazing to look at.
This story is great; it captures you in the story of love and the struggle to recapture the connection that was begun so many years ago. The domination, alpha male tendencies that are exhibited in Rafael would make any girl stop in her tracks. Then to top that off with his undying love for Sophia and you have a story that must be read and cherished. Some of the ways he expresses himself are just so moving , but one part that was so unbelievably touching was when Sophia was at his house for the first time and saw the ceiling (sky) of stars in his bedroom. There was an inscription that read, “You showed me the stars, and filled my life with light when I was full of darkness and despair. August 1989.” How could you not fall in love with Rafael the eleven year old and the man he is today….

A Need So Insatiable (Hearts #1) by Cecilia Robert

***Received an ARC of this book from the Publisher, via Netgalley, in exchange for an honest review***

Overall Rating: 4.5 Rockin' ★★★★☆

A Need So Insatiable is the first book in the new series Hearts by Cecilia Robert. This book was an intense and passionate love story that kept me on the edge the entire time I was reading it. The author does an excellent job of creating Sophie and Rafael’s characters. The chemistry between them is instant and you feel the love and desire they share for each other.

“My heart recognizes her, beating to a rhythm that’s only hers.”

Rafael Van Rees is a mysterious, “god of the opera world”, that has deep secrets he does not want to share with anyone. Sophia Fisher is trying to move on after her father’s death has left her repaying his debts to a seedy bill collector, raising her rebellious teenage sister, while pursuing her career as a singer. Combining opera maestro, singer, restaurateur, and fighter into the mix and you have a combination for an awesome read.

“You were mine the moment, you gave me that damn butterfly fourteen years ago. I’ve been yours since then, Sophie. Because I gave you my heart that day,”…”And that makes you mine to protect.”

This is the first book I’ve read by Cecilia Robert and I’m hooked on her writing style. This book has everything you look for mystery, love, action, and drama. I look forward to reading the next book!

"Every girl dreams of a man, a prince who'll sweep her off her feet, and love her like his world is ending”
