Twisted Eventide #3

Hunted Nightmare: Descension

Rate this book
I am Jaevia Knightley, Jae for short, a daemon, a mutt, a mix breed, half succubus, half vampire. I am Grigori and Reaper in service to my Kindred, our only charge, to police the other supernaturals of the worlds. In a twisted turn of fate, it is the Kindred that now must be policed and saved.

A scion of Sheba, a member of the House of Peitho, trained to be a courtesan. My world is dying, and I’ve been ordered to spy on my most hated enemy. I must relive my deepest nightmares to gain his trust. Will I lose myself in this mad plan? Can I save my people? What is too much to risk when there are millions of lives in the balance? Could I forgive myself if I did not give all? Risk all? And when everything I’ve ever believed is shaken to its very core, can I continue to trust the people closest to me?

*Book contains violence, graphic sexual scenes, horror, BDSM and other adult situations*

Awesome read

I love Descension. L. M. Adams did not disappoint me. I laughed, cried and got angry all at the same time. When it was over I restored to wholeness. Buckle up for a joyous ride. The character are beginning to become old friends taking me on a journey through Greek mythology, paranormal and BDSM. Yes, there's a lot of sex but there a lot of everything else also too...

I really did enjoy this book. I am really looking forward to August now. Really, though? Jack again? I cry for that guy. Love him to much. By far one of my favorite characters in all the books I have read. So thank you for him.

Book 3 - Cliffhanger!

Book 3 ends on one heck of a cliffhanger! Who is the spy? Who is the figure in the cloak? Is the “enemy’s” revelation true? Is the “enemy” really an “enemy”? How is the new supernatural tied to all this? All questions that spur me on to continue the series.

I am enjoying this series immensely. However I do have to deduct one star from my rating because now that I have read three books in the series, I am noticing the author’s penchant to repeat certain things. Usually it’s the description of a person, thing or a place and I find that it’s the exact same words used to describe the person, place or thing in a previous book; literally copied word for word and it is distracting. It comes off as lazy writing.

Still enjoying this series but...

I have enjoyed this series and this book amps up the mystery of what is actually going on with Kindred BUT I wish the author would tone back on the copy and paste descriptions of the characters. I understand that if someone hasnt read the previous books you need to describe the characters but please keep in mind some of us are reading the whole series bc it is a great series. Word for word descriptions of the characters causes me to start skimming through the story bc ive already read it.

Love the story, the fantasy and the sexual tension

I am hooked. I can’t seem to put it down. The development of the characters, the history of the culture, and the sexual intrigue. Each character is unique, has a story and a place. You feel torn, angry, hurt, passion, frustration and love in the series. And not just for the main characters

I love Jack

I loved that in this book you get to see Jae be kind and more loving to Jack...in her way. She has a hard time with kind. But I love Jack and I enjoyed that in this book Jae really steps up her actions proving he is her chosen. And the way this one ended has me wanting so much more! Can’t wait to start book 4.

I have enjoyed the series so far, particularly for its intriguing mystery and rich world-building. In my review of the first book, I mentioned that the "spice" aspect wasn't really my cup of tea, but the compelling plot kept me engaged enough to continue reading. However, with this latest installment, I've reached a point where I'll be stepping away from the series.

The shift in focus towards a sadistic sexual theme has become central to the book, which I find off-putting. While I understand that this darker aspect of Jaevia's character is rooted in her conditioning and succubus nature, it’s not something I enjoy exploring. Her behavior, particularly in her interactions with Jack, makes me uncomfortable, even though Jack is more than accepting of it.

I suspect the next book will likely delve even deeper into this side of Jaevia's nature, so I’ve decided it’s best for me to stop here. My decision isn’t a reflection on the quality of the writing or the book itself—it's simply a matter of personal taste.

Wonderful, give this book the first chapter to get you hooked!

I never dreamed i would enjoy a book on BDSM, but I was totally wrong. Throw in some vampires,a succubus, some werewolves and some Magi and you have a hell of a book. Action from beginning to end. A real page turner.

Incredible

I can’t stop reading this series, I am loving it so much. I love the way the author writes about the behaviour and needs of the succubus and it’s relationship to Jaevia, she is very skilled. I can’t wait to see what comes next this is a real roller coaster of a story.

This series has me under a spell I can't read fast enough

I am left with more questions then answers. If Lucien is Jealous of Jae loving and being with another why is Jack okay? What does Acastus want ? Who is going to betray Jae?

This poor girl, I should say woman. But still, this poor woman. She finally is getting her life together and they have to go back to the Kindred. Between the men that are supposed to love her and her parents that are supposed to love her, she is brought back to the life she was forced into before.
Why does Jae have to do everything? I guess it's part of the overall story but here she is, still in shock from the things that occurred in the first book and now she gets to go back there and relive the worst part of her life. Her men are slowly turning their backs on her and her parents want her to seduce the one person she hates the most.
Although this is a hard book to read, so much darkness, it was still a very important part of the story and I do love this story. I can't say enough about how much I appreciate this writer. LM Adams isn't afraid to give the readers the hard parts of the paranormal life. Not that I'd know, but I know it can't be all fun and games in their world. LOL

To say I'm in love with the series is an understatement. Jae and gang are on a wild ride and I don't ever want to get off. I think I love her Da most of all. Some of the things he says had me laughing out loud...

I am amped up and hype for Ascension to arrive.

Jaevia never expected to have an easy life. It's a good thing too. Her father wants her to come home and take her place in the house of Peitho. Someone is trying to destroy their world and he thinks she is their best hope. But, can a deeply troubled soul save the everyone?
