As the sixth in a family full of girls, Hyacinth felt she often faded into the woodwork. Of course, she liked living in her own world, where no one really bothered her. She spent her days at the library working on her book, and her evenings hiding in her room. She was determined to be just as good as all her sisters, most of whom she felt overshadowed by.
Lawrence watched the pretty girl in the library for weeks before he finally approached her, only to learn she was the younger sister of his favorite person in the city. To him, Hyacinth was perfect. Of course, he had no idea how to court a woman. Thankfully, he found a newspaper column that would teach him everything he needed to know. Would she always think he was crazy every Tuesday when he followed its advice, though?

Hyacinth

Another sweet story of one of the flowers in the Sullivan garden, By and Lawrence were made for each other and that is how it should be. Very good reading!!

Don't get me wrong when you are reading this, because I truly do love this series. Each girl has their own story to tell, and Hyacinth was one that always faded to the background in the previous stories. Now, she's the main character, and she is one I can sympathize with because she is a writer. But, after waiting for this book to come out because it took me less than two hours to read the previous book, I found myself let down.

She recycled a character from the Amaryllis story, Lawrence. I didn't really like him in the Amaryllis story--found him to be a character that felt forced to be something he wasn't. He was a suitor that Amaryllis practically used to make Alex think she hated him. So, when he popped back up in this book, I found myself disappointed because I wanted a new character. Lawrence remained on his course as a flat character that felt entirely out of place throughout the entire book.

Another thing about this book is that it felt like the author did not take the time to really edit it. There was so much more story she could, and probably should, have told. It felt rushed to me, as the reader. It was almost a bare-bones story, like she got down the main story she wanted to tell, checked it (poorly) for grammar and spelling, then sent it on through to be published. It's incomplete.

And for poor Hyacinth, who was always overlooked to start with, it was entirely unfair.

Tuesdays with Lawrence

This flower story is sweet and funny.

Hyacinth, the sixth flower girl, was always seen as dreamy and lost in another world. Lawrence Bennett, the writer friend of Amaryllis, knows all about that. But he feels he needs advice on how to court her.

This is the first romance of any sort that I have read that is primarily about the courtship. It is also sweetly funny.

As Above

Another Funny But Wonderful Story. This has been like and Adventure for me. These Stories were put together so well I could feel all the feelings these these people had experienced.
I am coming close to the end and I want more. This would have made A Great Movie To See On The Hall Mark Channel.

This story started out boring.

Lawrence was not a manly man, but a bumbling nice guy. Hyacinth wanted to be a writer, and she was always walking into walls because she was always thinking about the stories she was writing or going to write.

Good

I love this historical mail order bride series, even though not all the sisters become mail order brides. This was a very cute read and I recommend this series.

This read was so endearing! The How-To column Lawrence reads leads to some hilarious misunderstandings that I absolutely adored. A quick and sweet romance that will lift your mood.
