Stories and Scripts: an Anthology

Rate this book
Thought-provoking, dreamy, sad, and hilarious, this collection of works by Zack Love takes the reader on a diverse and unforgettable literary journey through a variety of topics, themes, and emotions. The anthology totals about 73,000 words and contains a novelette, four short stories, a theater play, and a screenplay.

These seven spellbinding stories spanning several styles and genres include a dramatic romance, a satire of the mega-rich, a somber and soulful reflection on the problem of evil, humorous dating adventures, and stories driven by philosophical musings.

1) THE DOORMAN – A NOVELETTE

Alex seems to have it a great penthouse apartment, a lovely girlfriend, and a prestigious Wall Street job. But below the surface he is sure of nothing but his angst-ridden doubts. And when he realizes that his doorman may be God, or sent by God, he will question things like never before.

This novelette is a story of New York doormen, tormented love, empty office life, and the theological questions that arise in response to the horrors of evil.

2) CENTRAL PARK SONG – A SCREENPLAY (ROMANCE)

Can love really conquer all? Rodney is a passionate black man with brilliant talents but a mental illness that leaves him homeless. Melinda is a white Manhattan law partner with an artistic soul, trapped by the pressures of corporate law, her wealthy father, and her three-year boyfriend. A charming, chance encounter leads to a magical courtship and life-changing choices that make an unlikely New York romance possible.

3) THE GRAND UNIFIED STORY – A SHORT STORY

What happens when a man and a woman meet in a way that magically involves the entire universe? When both are so keenly aware of their place in the cosmos that their connection seems to transcend their union and capture the very essence of life. This story shows how each person is a world to be discovered and how sometimes, when two worlds collide, the universe seems that much closer.

4) CITY SOLIPSISM – A SHORT STORY

Have you ever been on a train, bus, metro/subway – or any other shared space with strangers – and started to wonder what that person right next to you is thinking? This story takes you on a journey into the mind of a man in a suit and tie on a New York City subway car, as he thinks about the woman standing awkwardly close to him. They are total strangers but their proximity is almost intimate as their hands share the same metal subway pole.

5) WAITING FOR 2000 – AN ABSURDIST COMEDY OF BILLIONAIRE PROPORTIONS

Inspired by and reminiscent of Samuel Beckett’s absurdist stage play “Waiting for Godot,” this Y2K theater comedy satirizes the frivolous extravagance of the mega-rich.

Bob’s Billionaire Boat boasts the world’s 2,000 richest people on it, and will enable them to celebrate the arrival of the year 2000 twice in a row by crossing the International Dateline on New Year's Eve 1999. The co-captains of the boat — two regular guys — keep themselves amused with endlessly silly banter while occasionally debating whether the whole thing is just a fictional stage play.

Meanwhile, two Wall Street traders who are bitter about missing the wealth cutoff for the billionaire cruise are determined to blow up the boat and thereby become the two richest people on earth.

In this satire, the zaniest billionaires ever to gather on a single vessel prove that there's still plenty to complain about at the top.

6) MY BEST VALENTINE'S DAY. EVER. – A SHORT STORY

Sammy Laffowitz is legendary for his dating disasters and sex mishaps.

Pardon the minimal content here. You're more likely to find new stuff on my author site: http://zacklove.com

And here's my bio:

Zack Love graduated from Harvard College, where he studied mostly literature, psychology, philosophy, and film. After college, he moved to New York City and took a corporate consulting job that had absolutely nothing to do with his studies. The attacks of September 11, 2001 inspired him to write a novelette titled “The Doorman" (http://tinyurl.com/TheDoormanAmazon), and heightened his interest in the Middle East. A decade later, that interest extended to the Syrian Civil war, which provided the backdrop for his latest work. In late 2013, Zack began releasing his unpublished works of fiction and became a full-time author. He has published comedy, psychological and philosophical fiction, and romance. Zack enjoys confining himself to one genre about as much as he likes trying to sum up his existence in one paragraph.

I have to say this is one of the best combinations of short stories you are ever going to read. I am definitely adding this one to my favorites list because it is so unique. I couldn’t have been happier to have gotten the chance to read each and every single one of these stories. The book itself is brilliant and gives you all kinds of things to look forward to. You get insightfulness; brilliance, love stories, comedies, and even stories that make you stop and think. It’s again a wonderful combination that everyone should definitely read.

Zack is a very creative writer and I love that he’s not afraid to write something completely different than anyone else. You will see that in each of the individual stories. So completely different yet unique. The stories are witty and smart and leave you wanting more from this amazing writer.

Below you will find short reviews for some of my favorite stories in the book. I didn’t add all of them, but they are all amazing and you should pick this one up and make sure to see what others I don’t mention.

The Grand Unified Story *5 Stars*
The beginning of this story will give you butterflies. I was so lost in the way Steve and Diane were just perfect together. They seemed to fit together like pieces of a puzzle. It was so romantic. Steve is by far one of the smartest men. I loved how he described the universe and all of its significance. Steve pretty much melted my heart and stole it the more I read this beautiful little read. It left me wanting more of their story.

The Doorman *5 Stars*
I have to say for a short story this was one of the most Intelligent and insightful books I have ever read. I wish it had been longer because I just couldn’t get enough of it. Zack has done it again and outdone himself with this amazing book. The Doormen proves that Zack is one remarkable writer and I can’t wait to read more from him. The Doorman is Brilliant. Central Park Song *5 Stars*
Let me say that this was one of the most creative and beautiful stories I have ever read. I loved that Zack wasn’t afraid to write something completely different than most authors. He did an amazing job with this screenplay and I am so honored I got to read it because I really enjoyed it and fell in love with the story. It’s absolutely delightful. So if you love reading new books that will have you questioning things, crying, ranting, and laughing you need to give this one a read. Because each of these books will have your emotions crazy, but in a good way.

I can't believe that you can get all these now in one place! Of course being a huge fan I have one clicked all of Zack Love's work and to get all these for that price is amazing. If you haven't read his work, you must. He is a writing genius and I am obsessed with his stories!

Here are a couple of reviews of stories featured in this

THE DOORMAN

I must say that this short story had my mind going in circles and thinking about things. I must have sat there for an hour pondering what I would have thought and if I would of had the same conclusion Alex did about the Lenny, The Doorman.

This does touch upon some sensitive material for some so please be aware of that, but also read with an open mind and allow yourself to just be in the moment. I think we all have our opinions but they are opinions; flexible and can be changed. A lot of people don't realize that life is about choices NOT circumstance. It made me happy to see such a point brought up in this Novelette!

A quote that I took from this that I thought was very interesting:

"Evil awakens goodness from its sleep. When good people take what they have for granted, they can lose it to evil"

A CENTRAL PARK SONG:

Okay honestly! Is there anything this man can't write?!?! I laughed and loved 'Sex in the Title', then went on to an intriguing and unique read with 'City Solipsism', leading to 'The Doorman' which had me thinking for hours and practically speechless after, and now 'Central Park Song'

This, again, is a short from a different angle. Written as a screenplay I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about it. I was nervous but I think my drama club script reading kicked in and the whole thing was perfect and played beautifully in my mind. Like a script to an episode of emotional struggles from various people in different situations. I found myself reading the parts and acting like the characters. Trying to put myself there emotionally and it was amazing! Kind of sparked a fire in me that hadn't been there for a long time.

The story itself is very beautiful and I love how Zack includes a worldly conflict in almost all his reads. One that people may not feel comfortable talking about but when you read his stories you find yourself wanting to and realizing that these problems exist in society. Central Park Song is not an exception to this.

Touching and inspirational!

All of Zack Love's short stories and screenplays in one book sounded too good to be true. But, it was even better than I imagined because it had a total of seven stories and some of them I had not even had the pleasure of reading before! This was great because in the anthology I paid less for the seven stories than I did if you added up ALL of his short stories and screenplays I already purchased. Being that I'm a HUGE Zack Love fan, I went ahead and bought the anthology anyway, and it was so worth it!

The Doorman was one of my absolute favorite stories because it made you really think and look at life from a different perspective. This link will take you to my review should you want to see more.

Central Park Song is a beautiful little love story that just makes you believe in serendipity. I believe if you do good by others and lead a good life all returns to you in the same manner. This story just solidified that in my mind like a Hallmark channel special. This is the link to my review if you'd like to look further into my review.

City Solipsism was like Zack Love's version of screwing with our mind, in a sense. He takes you on a journey through the mind of a young man riding on the subway standing next to a beautiful woman. The entire time you're getting a look into his thoughts. For more to this review please follow this link.

I admit I am a huge fan of Zack Love and I read everything the man writes, it's very smart and he is also freaking hilarious! I cannot wait until his next project is unveiled. This was a really great anthology with some new work that I hadn't read yet, but loved!

It isn't every day where I can say I loved every single story in an anthology. This is the case with Zack Love's Stories and Scripts: An Anthology. Each story offers something different from romance and comedy to philosophical and theological. What ties this set together so well is that Zack Love is a great writer. He knows how to write stories that pull you in. This anthology showcases that really well. It's hard for me to pick a favorite from this set because I like them all so much for different reasons.

Central Park Song is not your traditional romance, which is refreshing.

City Solipsism is a glimpse into the mind of a man on the subway and has one of the funniest endings.

The Grand Unified Story tells the story of a meeting between a man and woman and how it's connected to the universe. It's a really sweet story.

Waiting For 2000 is a funny play that has characters you won't forget.

My Best Valentine's Day. Ever. and My Worst Valentine's Day. Ever., bring back Sammy and Yi (Narc) from Sex in the Title. Their Valentine's Day stories are hilarious.

The Doorman is a brilliant story that will stay with you for a long time. I couldn't stop thinking about this story after I read it.

I can't recommend Zack Love's, Stories and Scripts: An Anthology enough. You won't be disappointed. This is definitely worth the one-click.

INT. TIM HORTON'S COFFEE SHOP - 7 P.M.

TITLE FADES IN: CENTRAL ALBERTA, SPRING 2014

Winter is still looming over the prairies. People meet at their local coffee shop to pass the winter blues and share stories.

Chrissie, 39, sits in the coffee shop watching people in the parking lot come and go.

Janet, 39, sits across from her friend, Chrissie, watching people enter and exit the coffee shop.

Chrissie: So, what have you been reading lately?

Janet: A new heart warming story from a great author, ZACK LOVE.

Chrissie: Tell me about it then.

Janet: It is about a chance encounter between a lady who is a
lawyer and a homeless man. That one event changes both of their lives forever.

Chrissie: I'm intrigued now, tell me more!

Janet: Well, Melinda, the lady, is smart, strong and caring. Rodney, the homeless man, is brilliant, charismatic and unique. Together they seem to make each other realize that where they are in their lives isn't truly where they want to be.

Chrissie: I'm very interested now.

Janet: Yes, it is an incredible story and written in a screenplay format. Don't be scared of the format, take a chance and experience something new. You won't be sorry! I still was able to visualize the story and feel what the author wants you to through the characters.

Chrissie: What was your favourite part?

Janet: A quote, "When you look for beauty, you usually end up
finding it."

Chrissie: That is a fantastic quote! What is name of this story?

Janet: "Central Park Song" by ZACK LOVE. I am going to get it for your Kindle so don't worry about it. My gift to a great friend!

Janet: (cont'd)
I just think that this story reminds us that everyone has beauty and I don't mean physical. You can only truly see a person's beauty if you open your eyes to their soul.

Chrissie: Great! I can't wait to read it now!

Janet: The artistry in the words is unparalleled. Something special and extraordinary! Simply beautiful! Thank you Zack!

My heart is beating - should I speak?
Will she acknowledge me or freak?

Sitting on a train - time speeding by,
Spontaneity! Go on give it a try!

Oh no! My stop is here,
Will she stay or follow me where??.....

That is all I will share - what can I say?

A GREAT COLLECTION OF SHORT STORIES! I've read 6 of the 7 short stories in this collection by Zack Love and I've enjoyed them all. Whether he's writing a beautiful love story, a zany stage play with silly banter, or an insightful, thought-provoking and quite moving story about 9/11, Zack never fails to pull you into his stories! In this anthology, he illustrates the beauty, depth and range of his awesome writing and story telling abilities. Zack truly puts his heart and soul into everything he writes! If you've read Zack's novel, Sex in the Title, but haven't ventured into reading any of his short stories, this is an excellent chance (and price!) to read more of his fabulous works. Here are my reviews of Zack's stories in "Stories and Scripts: an Anthology" --THE DOORMAN:The Doorman is an inspiring and thought-provoking short story. It struck a cord with me, especially since I live so close to NYC and could totally appreciate Alex' thoughts and reactions towards his experiences in the story. For those of you who have read Zack Love's Sex in the Title, this novelette is a departure from Zack's witty, silly and humorous anecdotes, showcasing his amazing ability to write a thoughtful, deep and beautiful story. If you haven't yet read any of Zack's works, I highly recommend this short story as an excellent introduction to his awesome writing!CENTRAL PARK SONG:In his Latin epic poem, The Aeneid, Roman poet Virgil wrote, "Omnia Vincit Amor" which means, "Love Conquers All" And that's exactly what Zack Love writes about in Central Park Song! This screenplay is about Rodney and Melinda, two totally different people from two totally different worlds. As both search for their true dreams and desires, they meet and their connection is immediate. And as is always true with life and love, there are many obstacles that are in their way. I don't want to spoil the story by telling you anymore, but I will say that Zack Love has written an awesome love story here and his words weave a tale that is beautiful, touching and heartwarming! And definitely a must read! :)One of my favorite quotes (among many) from Central Park Song: "I think the love completes the soul. Just like knowledge completes the mind"CITY SOLIPSISM:Beautifully written, City Solipsism allows the reader to get a glimpse into the mind of a man, Jack, who is taking his normal, boring commute into his NYC job. Boring until he spots an attractive woman who just so happens to board the same subway car as Jack and shares the same metal pole with him. Intrigued by this beauty, Jack shares with us his thoughts, memories, hope and desires... all invoked by this mysterious, beautiful stranger. Oh and the ending? Won't spoil it for you but if you've read "Sex In The Title" by Zack, then you will know that it is DEFINITELY Zack Love...True To Form!WAITING FOR 2000 - AN ABSURDIST COMEDY OF BILLIONAIRE PROPORTIONS:You know those days when you come home from work (Usually on a Monday!) after having a grueling, stressful day? When all you want to do is wind down and relax, but walk through the door only to find that your cat has puked up a fur ball on your brand new area rug and the kids have piled dirty dishes sky high in the sink instead of putting them in the dishwasher? You know that feeling ... you just need a break- an escape from reality! Well, Zack Love's "Waiting for 2000" is DEFINITELY that escape! Zack's stage play takes you aboard a cruise ship on a comedic adventure with a boatful of zany crewmembers and overly eccentric billionaire guests. Throw in a couple of jealous, bumbling Wall Street traders into the mix and more craziness ensues! True to Zack Love's witty writing form, "Waiting for 2000" provides you with lots of laughs and head shaking theatrical moments that will undoubtedly make your bad day so much better! My Best Valentine's Day.Ever and My Worst Valentine's Day.Ever are both short stories about two of the main characters from Zack's hilariously witty first novel, "Sex in the Title". These two stories are just as witty and funny as his novel and these characters still carry on with their silliness in the short stories.*****The Grand Unified Story is a new story from Zack and I can't wait to read it :)

The Doorman

This was my first piece of work I have read by Zack Love. I have been wanting to for what seems like forever. So I was so excited to get finally get to sit and read his work.

Alex has just landed a high paying new job on Wall Street and also has moved into a condo on a Fifth Street. Of course he likes having a high paying job but he wants to do something more meaningful. He works so much that he doesn't actually get to enjoy life so really what is the point of making so much money of you can't enjoy it. The only people he talks to outside of work and his father and his girlfriend Anna but really his friends are his doormen, Lenny and Serge. They seem to know everything especially Lenny, if Alex asks him about a random fact he knows the answer....and he has the thought that maybe Lenny is God but then he couldn't be. When tragedy strikes and Alex has been saved from it, he asks himself again Could Lenny be God? He seems to know it all....

This Novelette really had me thinking. It's short but really gets your mind going about life and even about death. And of course the in between....what is meaningful for you during your time on earth? Is money or happiness more important? Why does God let things bad happen?

I really enjoyed the story and there was so much in it even though it's a novelette. And just a side note, I am Armenian and was surprised that the Armenian Genocide was mentioned. We don't hear about it much...

Can't wait to read more of the Short Stories, Screenplays and Comedies for Mr. Zack Love.

Quotes:

"I want to feel like I am making a difference in this world. And I want some time for living rather than just working. Life is for the living, isn't it? It can't be all just for working."

I couldn't explain Lenny any other way. But eventually I came to my senses and realize that he was just one of those game show freaks with an encyclopedia memory. That didn't make him God, did it? Would a God proclaim so regularly how much he likes Patsy's Pizza.

"But how would you even know that what you were experiencing was euphoric? Don't you need some pain to recognize and savor pleasure?"

***My Best Valentine's Day. Ever.

This is my First Zack Love Comedy Short Story and I was not disappointed. I was laughing from the very first sentence.

Sammy wanted to go to the City for Valentine's Day and even had lines himself up with a first date. It went from being what he thought would be romantic to Being shatted on but he wasn't the only one...and it turns out to be the best Valentine's Day Ever!

I love the way Zack writes. It is hilarious but also sweet in there. Valentine's Day can suck but can turn around. Hilarious...

Quotes:

Summoning my inner Kojak, I tried to convince myself that she would have sat next to me even had there been somewhere else on the bus to sit.

I'm Sammy. And the umbrella covering you is Ralph.

It was definitely the best Valentine's Day.Ever. I think I grew some extra chest hair after that one.

***My Worst Valentine's Day. Ever.

Oh Mr. Love how you crack me up!

It's Valentine's a Day in New York City of all places so why not try to have as many lays as you can in one Epic Day turned Night? This should have been the Best Valentine's Day Ever in a History if plans would have gone correctly for Yi or Narc...I didn't catch his actual name.

But when things are looking like they are going his way everything goes to shit...it could have been momentous but it was anything but.

I need more short stories! These just made my day...It's just up my alley with the humor.

Quotes:

Sometimes I wish I could just devote my entire life to the pursuit of pussy but I can't figure out a way to put that on my resume.

It's amazing how much a man can forgive when there's bootyliciousness involved.

And just when I am about to lay on the Yi-Wang Smooth...

This review is MY opinion. Please read the synopsis before purchasing this book. *Be kind and leave a review*

Zack Love has made it easy for everyone to get all his works. Zack gives you a little bit of everything in one collection.

City Solipsism is the short story of a man who finds himself wondering about a woman who is on the same subway train. This story takes you inside the mind of a subway rider. Do you think the same things when you see someone on the subway, bus, or plane?

Central Park Song is a screenplay about a successful, rich, white woman who meets a very smart, talented and homeless black man. Can love survive not only the racial divide but also the social one? When you read this you can really picture yourself sitting in a theatre watching this story play out on the big screen.

The Doorman is a story that will have you thinking about your faith. Can an older man know all things about all things and be just a man? Alex finds himself asking this question after his doorman keeps getting everything right.

Waiting for 2000 is a play. 2000 of the wealthiest men and women are on a ship heading for the International Dateline to celebrate the beginning of the year 2000 a 2nd time. Some of these wealthy people come and talk to the ships captains about all the issues they are having on the cruise. This play is full of hilarity and makes you wonder what these rich people would do if they had a "real" problem to deal with.

There are three other short stories included in this anthology. Sammy, from Sex in the Title, tells you about Valentine's Day, his best one in My Best Valentine's Day Ever and Narc, from Sex in the Title tells you about his worst Valentine's Day in My Worst Valentine's Day Ever. The Grand Unified Story completes the collection.

One click this and get yourself hooked on Love...Zack Love....today.

I am so excited to see so many of Zack's works in an anthology. I've had the pleasure of reading several of his works and each one is more brilliant than the last. Mr. Love has a way of spinning tales that are well written and thought out. He doesn't fill his writing with fluff and unnecessary commentary to try to fill the pages. His stories, as you'll see range from serious to the all out hilarious. This is another reason I am such a fan.

Outside of Sex in the Title (which is not in this anthology) my other favorite is City Solipsism-this is a peek at how I felt about that story:
Have you ever wondered about the person standing right beside you? Did you ever want to speak to someone, but couldn't work up the nerve? Did you think, what would have happened if I had just said hello? This story dragged me in from the beginning for that very reason alone. I think we all have lived those moments. I know I have. Add to that the brilliant writing by Mr. Love and you can't go wrong. I sat here reading, routing for the guy to say anything, anything at all to his "Florence". I loved how there were small flashbacks to prior times when he felt more confident and did take that step. For a short story there was so much story and intrigue packed into it. There was no disappointment. And the ending was my favorite part. This was an easy five star rating for me and I highly recommend it. It's a quick read that may leave you wanting to step outside your comfort zone and say hello the next time you find yourself attracted to a stranger.

I can't believe that I got all these incredible stories for such a low price. I can't say enough about this anthology so here is a bit of a review on a couple of my favorite stories.

If you haven't read anything by Zack Love before here is your chance to get all his short stories for a ridiculous price!

The Doorman- an amazing story about life, it's ups it's downs and how much what you do today can reflect on tomorrow. A story about how one moment in your life can change your outlook on life, the way you think the way you act, the way you feel and the way you treat others.
Most importantly it showed you that faith comes in many forms it is up to you to decide the form that speaks to you.

Central Park Song-the perfect story to remind you that love has no boundaries. Live for you, not for anyone else. This is a true romance story about a wealthy, successful lawyer who finds passion in an unlikely person...a homeless man. Take the journey of discovery with these two incredible characters.

Waiting on 2000- laugh out loud funny. Who would think there could be so many billionaires on a boat. This is an incredibly well written funny story that leaves you wanting more.

Good stories, all rolled into one neat package.

I found this to be a neat package of seven stories all rolled into one tidy book. It is a collection of works by Zack Love which explores your emotions, including laughter, sadness, fun, romance and even some reflection.

Even after reading these stories I think my favourite is still City Solipsism, as I just loved the whole concept of the story and the experience of riding the subway and his chance meeting and how he ponders through his experiences. The ending was one I didn't expect and I loved it.

I rather enjoyed the Valentine’s Day stories as well, without going into too much because I hate giving the storyline away are witty and as always have a twist.

Zack Love is a writer who knows how to get your attention and then hold onto it throughout his story telling. He is witty, thought provoking and insightful. The quality of Zack’s writing is a cut above and he is very talented. These stories are outside my usual genre but I really enjoyed them and give this 5 stars.

An awesome book full of short stories, tales, scripts and dare i say it Love.

Mr Love pulls no punches yet again with these stories, they're hard, gritty, full of humour, thought provoking, philosophical reads.

I read this from cover to cover and was not disappointed, several short and completely different stories told in varying styles of writing.
Zack doesn't have a usual style of writing however his work is very versatile and keeps you on your toes.

They're fresh, innovative, enlightening, all the things you want in a good read, if you enjoy gut wrenching fits of laughter, bursts of contemplative thought, relating with the character's and their actions and looking for magic, fate, luck or coincidence plus much much more then I recommend this anthology as a must read.

Zack Love bites the bullet and hits the nail on the head again.

Zack Love will have you laughing out loud and also contemplating the meaning of life. He has such a unique talent with words! So go on, go buy it,it's quiet a steal to get so many pieces in one!

More Zack Love all together!
Now you can get several stories and plays together in one book. It is fun to reread stories I've read before like "City Sophism" and "The Doorman".
"Central Park Song" is a thought provoking story of a NY lawyer and a homeless man. It is refreshing to read about homelessness and see the people involved not the stereotypes.
"The Grand Unified Story" is about a couple's walk along the Charles River. They discuss how their meeting fits into the universe's creation.
I hope you enjoy this collection as much as I did!

This anthology showcases Zack Love’s differing styles of writing in a handy bundle. You get to experience the versatility and thought provoking way he has of immersing you into his stories. His ease for weaving words into captivating stories is incredible. And the price for these seven works of magic is icing on the cake.
After reading all the stories in this anthology, saying that I loved them is a huge understatement. Here is a very brief review of a few of these works…

The Doorman
An inspiring, thought-provoking story which will make you question and appreciate reactions to certain situations where good and evil might have a hand. You are given glimpses into some theological questions and although you might or might not change your current views, you will definitely be made to think.

City Solipsism
A story of the possibilities that a simple train ride can provide. The main character’s thoughts on a possible future with the woman he sees go rampant and we join him in a very quaint and colorful journey.

Central Park Song
A screenplay where Zack Love’s amazing way of putting words down on paper create a story and image in your mind. His intelligent way of writing allow the scenes to flow, immersing you in a world of skyscrapers and rundown buildings, taking you right along with the characters on their journey.

My Best Valentine's Day. Ever. and My Worst Valentine's Day. Ever.
We get a glimpse of Sammy (Heeb) and Yi (Narc) from his book Sex in the Title. Once again, we are privy to their funny way of dealing with women and can’t help the laughter that their situations provoke.

Zack Love will take you on a journey where laughs, love, sorrow, and more LAUGHS abound. His beautiful, intelligent, and philosophical way of storytelling will keep you on your toes and entertain the hell out of you. There is no reason to wait, ONE-CLICK NOW!

This is the first of Zack Love’s writing I have been lucky enough to read, and I surprisingly enjoyed his style of writing. At first I found it a little drawn out but I think that’s more to do with the style of writing I am use to reading normally rather than because of how he writes, however as I got onto the third story/script I was use to it and really enjoyed his style of writing. He has a great sense of humour and I often found myself laughing out loud.

I especially enjoyed the Screenplay and Theatre Comedy; Zack gives you a little information on how each is written so it’s easy to understand and feel as though you are in fact watching it on the big screen or at the theatre. I have never come across writing like that before and I really enjoyed it, you get a great feel for the characters because of it too.

This Anthology is great for light hearted comedy reading. He puts a great twist on the stories and I can imagine if you spent a day in the life of Zack himself, the comedy and twists he puts into his writing is how he is in his everyday life. If you’re looking for easy, short, comedy reading, than this Anthology does not disappoint.

There is an added bonus in this book of the first two chapters of Zack Love’s “Sex in the Title” and Zack’s humour continues into this book too and needless to say it is now on my TBR List and I will without a doubt be reading more of his writing too.

This is a compilation of stories by Zack Love
We gave this book 5 stars

A little bit of everything in one book!!
All in all this book was a great compilation of a great author and his work. I found that most of the stories made me wonder myself what life's possibilities were. While reading this compilation you need to have an open mind, when I started out reading I did not have that, and it was torturous to read. But once I went back and put my closed-mindedness behind me this book flowed with eloquentness. I was very impressed with these stories. Thank you for sharing this with us. I look forward to reading more of your work.

WTRBlog Review:
4.5 out of 5 Stars
I love this collection that Zack Love has put together. It's different from most of my other reads. From different writing formats for example in scrip format, which means it set up like you would read if in a move or play, to concepts to that run deep with thought about life, where you may question your belief in the All Mighty. He touches topics of prejudice not only race but how the financial status does not make ones intelligence or lack of. This unique read is well worth it. Check it out.

I rarely read anthologies, but knew I had to read Zack Love's. I recently fell in love after reading, The Syrian Virgin.

Love, is master story teller, and this collection really highlights that. You get a bit of everything in this anthology. Things you didn't even know you'd want to read, like plays and scripts. The only thing missing was some poetry! Ha! (Maybe the next anthology) There is something lyrical about the way, Love , writes though. Flows through you capturing your imagination. Very intelligent stories that truly make you think. Loved it!

The synopsis that goes along with each and every piece of literature in this anthology summarizes with perfect skill.

Zack Love is a brilliant writer that quickly captured my attention and held me hostage until the final page. I thoroughly enjoyed his intelligent writing style and creative nature. Great for quick reads on the go, separately, or perfect for one very entertaining sitting!

This is my first, and undoubtedly last, read of author Zack Love. If this were the only sort of writer Harvard grads made, it would be a travesty. True, a couple of the stories were decent, but the last two were rather tasteless and crass. Give me the bawdy humour of Chaucer over this any day, and I'm not a huge fan of Chaucer, but at least Chaucer could write well.

There were times I laughed, mostly during the screen-play, although it was nothing earth shattering and was rather predictable. I'm not sure how he has published so many books (self-published?) and perhaps this is his weakest one, but I highly doubt it, since one of the tasteless ones was a first person POV by a character from one of his other books.

4.75 It really got me thinking and I couldn't put it down STARS

*ARC provided by author for honest review and book blog*

Are you looking to see the variety and dimension of a writer? Would you love to sample some of their work all in one place??? Well Zack Love has answered your calling!!! Stories and Scripts: Am anthology is a collection of 4 short stories, a screenplay, a novelette, and a theater play and it is all combined into 349 pages or 73,000 words and let me just say that is a fun read, and once you get into one story and think that this is the best one and then you read the next and think “welp, I have been blown away again.”

What I loves most about this anthology is the range in which Zack Love can write. A lot of writers write only one genre, and one theme and you almost can predict what is going to happen or you know what your getting when you pick a book up (ie Nicholas Sparks, Love story with something tragic happening, EVERYTIME lol), but I didn’t get that from Zack Love, nope, not at all.

Here is a short review of one of the short stories that truly stood out to me:
The Doorman
This was short and left me craving more. It had my mind spinning, and if there is ever a follow up, you can sign me up!!!! This is a tough subject read because it shows how life can change for someone and how people make choices that lead them to places they never imagined. This short story made me think, and it was very provoking. Zack’s writing was amazing and it left me with an overall emotion I was not quite sure how to put into words, but I truly enjoyed it.

I would recommend Zack Love’s Anthology to everyone. It is truly a gem!!!

My Review:

4.7 Star Review - Stories and Scripts: An Anthology

Book with 7 reads.

You get tales, scripts, and stories.

It's from Zach Love so you know you are going to laugh until you cry.

The stories all flow well and I was able to read through in one sitting.

You get tons of laughs but also some love thrown in.

Some of the characters from Sex in the title make an appearance in a story and only to have you laughing out loud.

One of the stories is about a homeless man and a Lawyer.

Not your typical story but made you rethink the homeless stereotypes.

Regardless of what story you read out of the Anthology you will not be sorry.

Each bring in his creative mind and humor to the stories that keep you turning the pages.

Highly recommend picking this up and reading if not all at least some of these stories.

Can't wait to see what next Zach Love will write about.

Overall this is an amazing Anthology and I'm not going to lie I was surprised at how diverse Zack is as a writer, you just wouldn't expect anyone to able to successfully write so many different genres! Honestly no one has a right to be as talented as Zack is, but don't tell him I said that, we don't need his head to get any bigger ;). I enjoyed every part of this anthology and I can rarely say that, It has such a mishmash and it shouldn't work but it really does! It is almost like each piece compliments the next! Well worth a read!
