I freakin' LOVED this book. I kept thinking something bad was going to happen, but, OMG OMG OMG, I loved it... I could NOT put it down. I loved the and the and super-hot sex and Tristan, ooooooohhhh Tristan. Seriously... awesome.... like as in 'I had to go change my panties' awesome!

"I love you more…" I totally FUCKING MELTED every time I read this. "Every moment of today, she'd taken my breath away." OMG.... OMG OMG OMG... loved this.... I was all kinds of orgasmy here.

"I loosened my tie and threw it on the floor..." OK, so I was really dying here picturing him with his suit and tie on .... ::::thud::::

And, like I wasn’t already insanely in love with Tristan, the part where he pushed me right over the edge. Tristan, IMO, is Kellan-level. Hear that everyone? KELLAN-LEVEL! From me…

"Oh, baby." He kissed me softly. "Thank you, for bringing me back to life. For making this beat." He put a hand to his heart. "It beats for you, and them." EFFING SWOON!!!!

Tristan was a-fuckin-mazing and Georgia was strong and smart and loving. This book was sweet and hot and emotional and sexy. This book was everything I like about reading, complete with a ‘fiery handprint’ and everything! Sooooooooo good!!!! I highly recommend it!

Adriane Leigh has totally outdone herself, and I feel incredibly lucky that I was able to beta read. You all are in for a treat!

Nipple Count = 40, but... and 280 instances of various forms of 'fuck' which were mostly in Tristan's point of view! What a naughty, naughty boy... ;)

This really was the perfect ending to Tristan and Georgia's story!!

4.5 STARS FOR TRISTAN & GEORGIA!

See my review for The Mourning After (Mourning #1) here: http://smittensbookblog.wordpress.com...

I really enjoyed the first book of this duet. It was angsty and a real heart wrenching love triangle. The book finished with a hopeful ending that gave way to the possibilities of book #2, but left everything quite unresolved.

Light in Mourning actually rewinds a little to just before the end of The Mourning After. The end of the first book is told from Georgia's POV, so the second book switches to Tristan's POV and we get an insight into his mind set during the time they spent apart.

To be honest, I was sceptical that there would be enough to fill a second book, with this story. But there really was. This book was short enough that it didn't drag, but long enough that it warranted another book. It was like a gorgeous extended epilogue.

“I’d do it all again for you. Do it all over again. Go back to the very start. You’re worth every risk.”

In The Mourning After, there was a lot of anger, a lot of bitterness and hurt. I mentioned that I'd felt it was a shame that Tristan had spent so much of the book hurting and being so up tight, because of the love-triangle circumstances, because of Georgia's fiance, Kyle, etc. and I wanted to see him loosen up a little in the second book. Well, that's exactly what we got with Light in Mourning!

I loved Tristan in this book! He's absolutely smitten with Georgia and so adorable. He's more fun and playful, more relaxed and loveable. This is a man in love, rather than a man at war with his feelings.

Georgia was mine, whether she knew it or not. This was our new beginning.

Georgia is much more grounded in this book, too. Obviously, she's been through some traumatic experiences and now, she's finally mustered up the courage to set her life on a healthier path. She's finding her independence, admitting what was wrong with her past relationship and embracing the courage to put herself first.

This means she is a little hesitant about falling heart first into a relationship with Tristan at first, so despite their intense attraction and their steamy summer, they start things slowly.

Not only did he have the body of a Greek fucking god, but his smile, his eyes, and his laugh lit my life.

Well... this made me laugh a little. They intend to start off slow, but with so much steamy history between them, and so much delicious chemistry, this really was never going to be a foolproof plan, was it?

"I'm head over heels for you. Completely drunk on you. If I know one thing for sure, it's that you and I are it. I told you - you own me."

I'm so glad that Adriane Leigh didn't create any unnecessary drama just for the sake of padding out a second book. It's weird, because really, nothing monumental happened in this book, but I still devoured it without a second thought. It was still engaging and heart warming. It was just the necessary next step in the development of a relationship that had begun so tumultuously and needed time to settle into itself.

"I love you," I whispered.
"I love you so much more."

There are some seriously swoonworthy scenes in this book. Cuteness overload, a bone deep, soul gripping love between two people and both their fears and their dreams as they explore whether or not they have a future together.

"I want to have babies with you. Buckets full."
"Buckets full of babies?"
"Buckets full of babies."

There were times, in the first half of Light in Mourning, where I really felt Tristan's love to Georgia was stronger than hers was for him. I felt like he was absolutely head-over-heels for her, whereas she was hesitant. I think it was just as a result of the circumstances, but I felt for him and felt she needed to catch up to him, emotionally. Which she did, before long.

"I don't want this to be goodbye. I'm afraid your're telling me goodbye."

This author is great at bringing the settings, the homes, the tastes, smells and sights to life, which really sucks you in and helps to turn the words on the page into a movie running in your head as you read. Equally, I felt it so easy to cast this book. I love the pictures I found for these characters and I could picture Georgia and Tristan so vividly as I followed their story.

If you've read The Mourning After already, I do highly recommend that you read on and give Light in Mourning a go. Tristan and Georgia deserve their ending and, as I said, this is the perfect ending for their story. It brought a real sense of calm to what was originally a very rocky relationship.

If you haven't read either of these books yet, I would definitely recommend them. The sex is hot, the characters are likable and the setting makes me want to retreat to the beach, to paddle, renovate a beach house, drink coffee, adopt a Golden Retriever and read even more books! As a whole, there is a definite feel-good quality about this little series.

I really think more people ought to be reading Adriane Leigh’s books. She’s a gem just waiting to be discovered and it’s very easy to completely lose yourself in one of her books and the sex scenes are white-hot! Tristan is a delicious hero and I think if you like Kim Karr’s River, then you’re definitely going to love Tristan.

We pick up right after the hurricane at the end of The Mourning After and this time we’re hearing Tristan POV’s. Things are not going well, Georgia has not returned and now Tristan is burying his sense of loss in booze and an endless stream of plastic easy women. He’s reverted back to how he behaved before he met and fell in love with Georgia and she has also headed back to DC and her feckless, long-term boyfriend Kyle. They’ve both reverted to type – it’s one step forward and several hundred backwards.

Georgia does, however, return to North Carolina and Light in Mourning tells their story as they attempt to finally put their pasts behind them, accept who they are and move on together. There’s several obstacles in the road ahead for this couple and, with alternating POV’s we get to hear exactly what they’re thinking as we cross every hurdle, deal with it and eventually move on.

This is an incredibly visual story as it mostly takes place on the North Carolina shoreline and their whole landscape was brought vividly to life in my imagination. I could see both Georgia’s and Tristan’s house, the beach – everything. It played out with perfect clarity in my mind as I devoured every word.

Tristan is a hero that I have so completely come to adore. He’s so sweet, funny, sexy and he’s head over heels in love with Georgia who, quite frankly, would try the patience of a saint with her hesitation and restraint and her unwillingness to give herself to him 100% but, thankfully, Tristan is a patient man and is prepared to play the long game and wait for the prize at the end and I’m so glad he did. I was desperate for these two to work things out and to finally put the pain of the past behind them and accept what is glaringly obvious to us, the readers, and succumb to that all-consuming electric connection between the two of them!

It’s actually Adriane’s writing style that’s the star of this novel for me – her pacing is excellent as she gives every character time to slowly absorb every new development and react and it’s this attention to the emotions that make the whole story work so well for me. I need to feel what the characters feel rather than just be told how they feel and I definitely have done in these two novels. It’s an emotional read, a bit lower on the drama than The Mourning After, but a powerful story nonetheless as both of them struggle with their emotions, their fears and allow themselves to overcome all of this and finally admit that deep love that they now share.

If you’re looking for a beautiful sexy romance with a gorgeous hero, a deep emotional read then this book is definitely for you and there’s an absolutely perfect epilogue – I do love a good epilogue and this one definitely ticked all the right boxes!

Not really sure why more people are not reading this series. Not sure if its the title of the first book and the thought it was sad or if its because it is part of a 2 part series and LIM was not yet released. Either way they are both quick , easy, engaging, sexy reads!!

OK so we know Ms Leigh can write a steamy scene based on the Steel & Lace series BUT for all that is HOLY not only does The Mourning After have steam but LIGHT IN MOURNING will have you waking up your significant other with a come hither look.

Tristan is hot and I thoroughly enjoy his vulnerability and get it. He has warranted insecurities and I found them honest and enduring. I love that the second book is mostly his POV moving forward, who doesn't love a book from the male perspective? We learn in great detail his thoughts and feelings which makes for a strong story.

We don't hear as much from Georgia however we hear the necessary. She has found her strength through Tristan , her light, however Tristan is still finding his way, his security. Georgia has a few challenges out of her comfort zone in this installment however with the realization of Tristan's feelings she overcomes and becomes stronger.

There were a couple of times Georgia plucked my last nerve, I mean for the love of God they just professed their feelings so what the hell is wrong with her??? But it wouldn't be a story without the conflict so though its a necessary evil it sucked me in and had me wanting to shake her for a slight moment.

I still love the supporting cast however they are not on the front burner as they were in the first book, understandably so since this is about if and how Tristan and Georgia can make it through. I was so happy they were still included in this installment and enjoyed their commentary.

The end and epilogue of Light in Mourning is one of the sweetest I have ever read. The emotions expressed capture their current and future moments perfectly. The epilogue is actually my favorite part, well aside from the HAWT STEAMY MANY scenes in which Tristan makes my heart pitter patter. Gahhhh who doesn't love a man with a mouth like that?

The book is very well written and flows easily. Yes, its more of an emotional read than what we normally see from this author but its worthy of your time and should be not only added but bumped up on the TBR list. I can not wait to read Adriane's next book WILD.

Big thank you to Adriane for a ARC copy for review.

I can't even begin to tell you how addicting this book was. Just like the first, I couldn't get enough of Tristan and Georgia's love story. Those two have such a fire burning passion between them, and let me just say it keeps on sizzling.

"Save it for later because I want these-" I traced my thumb along the outline of his lips. "-all over my body tonight. ~Georgia to Tristan

I will admit in book one Georgia was a kind of frustrating with her back and forth between Tristan and Kyle. It kind of made me a little crazy, but I was very happy to see that there was none of that in the novel. Georgia and Tristan knew that they were it for each other, and I loved watching their love grow. I loved having Tristan's POV as well as Georgia's. It gave great insight into his mind, and I got to see his vulnerable side, and just how deep his love runs for Georgia. The man is fantastic, and I love his dirty mouth.

"You've got a cat?"
"Yeah, you don't like cats?"
"On the contrary. I love pussies." His lips lifted in the sexiest smirk I'd ever seen. ~Tristan and Georgia

It was great to see Tristan and Georgia's friends, especially Silas, I adore that guy. The ending was absolutely perfect for this couple, and just what I was hoping for.

The Light in Mourning is the 2nd installment in the Mourning Series from Adriane Leigh. You must read The Mourning After before starting this book. I was eagerly anticipating the release to catch up with Georgia and Tristan. Let me just say that this book was AMAZING!! I gladly gave it 6… yes 6 Stars as it left me with a book hangover for 2 days!! I couldn’t even look at my kindle!

The story picks up with a recap of Tristan’s return to North Carolina after the hurricane and his chance meeting with Georgia in the parking lot of the grocery store. Right away you could feel all of the emotions swirling between them hoping for them to reconnect.

You could see Tristan was trying hard to keep his feelings in check. He didn’t want to push too far too fast. But he had questions, questions that could only be answered by Georgia.

“I want you, but more than that, I want to take it slow.”

~ Georgia

Taking it slow for Tristan and Georgia was torture for them both. The playfulness between them as they teased one another with what was to come had me on the edge of my seat. Let’s just say I was thankful for the uninvited guest at Thanksgiving dinner. Commence the swooning of Tristan and his lopsided grin.

“You love my dirty mouth and all the delicious things it can do to you.”

~ Tristan

But when the past intrudes on their future, Georgia is forced to deal with Kyle and the night that tore her life apart 16 years ago. I found myself getting angry at Georgia for allowing Kyle to manipulate her during an emotional time. But I was quite happy with the way things turned out for Kyle and happy the Georgia returned to her rightful place….with Tristan.

“This is us, right here. You and me and no one else. Just this.”

~ Tristan

When a knock at the door and another unexpected visitor rocks their world, Tristan’s fear of being left resurfaces and shakes Georgia to her core. Will their love be strong enough to weather this storm too?

I enjoyed sharing the beautiful journey of Georgia and Tristan. I experienced many emotions throughout the story. I laughed, cried, got angry, hoped, smiled and rejoiced. The story wraps leaving you satisfied with a smile on your heart. But when I got to the end of the book I sighed and my book hangover commenced.

I was given the privilege of being a beta reader for the second installment in this series. As a huge fan of the first book, The Mourning After, I knew I was going to be in for a treat with this one. And not just because Tristan is effing hot!

Before we start with my review, I just wanted to take a moment to praise our Adriane Leigh for some of the most epic shag scenes I have read. Tristan was already way up in my list of ideal book boyfriends, but by the end of Light in Mourning I was having total Tristan-gasams... Seriously!

Yay for Tristan and his epic cock!! :D I salute you Adriane Leigh!

So the story for Light in Mourning continues with our Tristan and Georgia trying to find themselves and move forwards. Georgia has grown in strength and you can feel that as you read, whereas Tristan is still pretty much wearing his heart on his sleeve. He tends to be very wary and sensitive to everything going on around him, especially with Georgia. He is such a little sweetie that you feel so emotionally connected to him and want to wrap him in a little ball of cotton wool to prevent him from getting hurt.

The storyline has so many twists that you are NOT expecting. At some points I remember clearly just looking at my Kindle thinking "Did I just read that right?" and "No she didn't just do that?!"

All in all, I think the book was very well written and wonderfully continues the story on for both characters. I was pleased that supporting characters from The Mourning After also made frequent appearences throughout because I love Drew and Silas.

If you haven't read this series yet then I don't know what you are thinking because it is brilliant. Give it a chance because you won't be disappointed!

LIGHT IN MOURNING (Mourning #2)

By Adriane Leigh

Book 2 in the series picks up where book 1 ended and continues the story of Tristan and Georgia. Light In Mourning delves into their relationship and it is mostly in Tristans P.O.V.
Can they overcome their pasts and move onto the future....

The one thing I love most about this book was that it was in Tristan's p.o.v I really felt that I got inside his head and have got to know him very well. I love Tristan he is hot, loving, romantic and sensitive and just a little insecure, what is there not to love about him!!

I found Georgia a little frustrating in this one but I think that was to do with me not really knowing what was going on in her head. She is still a great character. There is still all the other characters in it too Silas, Justin, Gavin & Drew. I also liked this because its great to see how everyone's lives are changing and relationships are developing.

Lots and lots of hot sex in this one, it all came together very well and its a really enjoyable read. There are a couple of twists in this one and that certainly makes interesting reading!

I received an ARC copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I couldn’t believe it…I fell more in love with Tristan in this book. He was so sweet and loving…yes he did have a certain trust issue, but hey…not everyone is perfect.

“You’re worth everything to me…

…. I’d do it all for you. Do it all over again. Go back to the very start. You’re worth every risk”

How can you not love Tristan after the things he says?!?

And Georgia… she shined through this book, continuing to overcome her fears

She shows how strong she is as a person. Because of Tristan’s insecurities, she constantly throws herself out there….

I place my palm over my heart, “this beats for you. I can’t live without my heart, and you have it”

Will Tristan’s fear of getting left again

Please don’t leave me,” He said softly between kisses

and Georgia’s insecurity of Tristan’s past get the best of them?

Have you ever read a book and felt like you were holding your breath the whole way through, well that's how I felt while reading light in mourning I just kept waiting on either Tristan or Georgia screwing everything up(sorry no spoilers)I loved that it was mainly told in Tristan's pov and that's something a lot of female authors can't pull off but adriane Leigh truly made me believe I was reading a male pov.If you've ever read any of adriane's other books then you know she can write one hell of a hot scene and she certainly did not disappoint in this book at one point I felt the need to take a very long cold shower!!! So to sum up I LOVED this book it had a little bit of everything I.e romance, angst, those break your heart moments as well as the I'm gonna throw my kindle at the wall moments, and most importantly those awwww moments.

I had the honor of beta reading this wonderful sequel to The Mourning After. I loved Tristan more in this book if more is possible! He's matured; no longer the manwhore, he knows what he wants and who he wants--and that's Georgia. But a relationship with Georgia is going take overcoming major personal obstacles on both sides. Writing mostly from Tristan's POV, Adriane once again proves that she's a terrific writer and can write some of the steamiest smexy scenes I've ever read. Highly recommend.

After saying goodbye, several months pass before Tristan and Georgia meet again. She has returned to Kyle ( asshole) and Tristan continues to drink to drown his sorrows. One day Georgia finds the book “ Tristan and Isolde”, a book she read with Tristan in the summer and she realizes that she is not happy with her life now. The last time she felt happy was at the beach house, so she takes the suitcases and she leaves a Kyle that ensures that they will end up together.
For his pasty, Tristan has bought a house near Georgia’s house and despite being neighbors it takes weeks to see each other. And the reunion is full of doubts, reproaches and desire.
When they decide to give themselves another chance, to see them fall in love more and more😍. Although both have many insecurities to face and that make them lose their minds a little: Georgia is afraid that Tristan will be the womanizer that he was in the past ( slut parade) and Tristan is afraid that Georgia will leave him and decide to return to the safe life she had with Kyle.
❤️the story.

The Light in Mourning is the 2nd installment in the Mourning Series from Adriane Leigh. Let me just say that this book was AMAZING!! The story picks up with a recap of Tristan’s return to North Carolina after the hurricane and his chance meeting with Georgia in the parking lot of the grocery store. Georgia decides that she wants to take this slow with Tristan, based on her past relationship with Kyle. I liked the fact that Georgia recognized that she depended on Kyle for everything including her happiness and that she needed to stand on her own two feet. Georgia became her own woman in this book and could survive on her own and because of that she has able to be more open with Tristan about whatever she was feeling. And Tristan....OMG....is just so freaking sweet, caring and loving, I fell more in love with his character as the book went on.

“You’re worth everything to me…

…I’d do it all for you. Do it all over again. Go back to the very start. You’re worth every risk”

I really enjoyed this book and everyone should read it. I laughed, cried, got angry, hoped, smiled and rejoiced. The story ends leaving you satisfied with a smile on your face. Definitely a perfect ending for those two.

I loved The Mourning After and was very excited to read this book. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy Light in Mourning anywhere near as much. I found this book to be unnecessary and kind of boring. I honestly would have been happy if The Mourning After had been a stand-alone. It had a good ending and left the rest to your imagination.

When I heard about this book, I was excited. I enjoyed the characters and was glad to see more of them. But this book just wasn't needed in the way it was written. I felt like it was an excuse to write a bunch of sex scenes and found myself skimming over them quite a bit. It was like every chapter had a little bit of story and the rest was sex. I would have rather read a shorter novella with the story than this long of a book with very little story.

I also found that the characters were pretty annoying in this book. Georgia was a bit too stubborn for my taste and I kept wanting to tell Tristan to man-up.The other characters were barely present and didn't really add to this story.

I enjoy this author and plan to read more from her in the future, but this book wasn't enjoyable for me.

Light in Mourning is the second book in the Mourning Series.I would recommend reading the first book The Mourning After before starting this book. I literally could not put Light In Mourning down once I got started. Adriane Leigh just captures you right from the first chapter. I was hooked! I felt like I was on an emotional roller coaster. You laugh with the characters, you cry, and you of course cheer them on! I think the best part is that Tristian and Georgia both have qualities and characteristics of people you know. It is so easy to relate to them so you want to see that happy ending for them! Was this book worth reading? Definitely! Do I recommend it? 100%!
I was given an ARC for my honest review.

"The Mourning After" was an emotional roller coaster to say the least - That book could have ending as it did but it didn't give us any future for Tristan & Georgia. This book starts out with Tristan's Pov of their time apart- Talk about heart breaking OMG I was a mess. When things started to smooth out for these two I was a bit afraid it was going to Unicorns and Rainbows for the rest of the book but it wasn't. They each had some insecurities that caused things to never full smooth out. Lots and lots of hot steamy juicy sex (really folks a lot!). We also get to hear how Silas & Drew's relationships develop. Fabulous ,Fantastic, Wonderful Ending.

Once again, Adriane Leigh did a phenomenal job. This was one of the best sequels I have read in awhile. The book was both erotic and emotional. I have read several sequels recently, where the story leaves you hanging, leaves you thinking there should be another book. Ms. Leigh did a phenomenal job with the ending. She gives you a glimpse on what their life is like in different stages of their relationship in the ending. She has defiantly become one of my favorite authors.

This was a great ending to Georgia and Tristan's love story. I devoured this book and couldn't put it down. This book has some steamy love scenes that will keep you turning the pages and enough drama to hook you in. I really enjoyed it and thank you for including an Epilogue. Lately I have been reading a lot of books that have been lacking an Epilogue!
