Gorgeous Rotten Scoundrel

Rate this book
He was a pig, a jerk, selfish, callous, crude, tactless, prone to outbursts and gorgeous. The kind of gorgeous where you didn’t even attempt to hide the fact that you were staring. I knew the type: His entire life he has coasted on his good looks, artificial charm, and sex appeal. Everyone wanted to be him or be ON him. I had been hurt by jerks like him before. He was like those guys but far worse.

I was the unfortunate sucker to be offered a gig I desperately needed as his live-in chef for a Summer in the Hamptons. But I wasn’t like the other girls--the models and socialites who came through the revolving door of his bedroom. I would bite the bullet, take the job, deal with his sexist comments, his expectation that I would fawn over him, and have no problem letting the door hit my ass on the way out when I was done with the gig.

Then something unexpected happened that changed everything and I realized that there maybe more to him than the labels I had affixed to his character. Maybe.

But if he really wanted me, it wasn’t going to be easy, not like everything else in his life. He was going to have to work, I was going to make him miserable. He was going to hate wanting me just as much as I hated myself for wanting him back.

Heath Hillabrand: International Supermodel. Womanizer. Gorgeous, Rotten, Scoundrel.

Note: While Nina G. Jones is known for her darker suspense series (Strapped), this is NOT dark. Not even a little. This is a HOT romance novel. There are no crazy plot twists, no one is secretly related to anyone, there are no secret identities, just a fun read with sass and snark!

I'm sorry, but I'm sick and tired of reading books about cocky rich bastards who fuck anything that breathes and gets away with it just because he's hot..and rich.

Andddd... I'm sick and tired of reading about the girls who "hate them" yet fall all over them.

Are we really living in a society where girls see guys having threesomes (with different girls than he was with yesterday) and still find him attractive? After seeing said guy having threesome? Not only that, but bringing home more different girls to f*ck during the week WHEN HE KNOWS YOU CAN HERE SINCE YOU TOLD HIM and then you still like him?

Who the f*ck are these girls and where can I avoid them???

Sadie experienced all of this with Heath within the first week, yet when he kisses her at the party she "melts" ...really? All because he says she's too frigid (when she's actually doing her job and trying to be professional) so she kisses him and whatever to show him what exactly? That you're a stupid bitch? Explain to me why a woman has to change for a man, yet it is not expected for a man to change for a woman? Anyone?

I don't know if it's the complete crappy books I've been reading lately but I'm sick and tired of reading these sort of books.

Heath was a dick.
Sadie was a moron.
What more is there to say?

Oh ...sorry about my language.

4 Stars – I found a new dirty talker and his name is Heath
For more reviews visit www.sizlingpages.com

Heath is a bastard.

He’s an arrogant, womanizing, egotistical type of bastard.

He’s sexy, gorgeous, famous and desirable. Lives a jet set life filled with good times and disposable women. He’s uninhibited and reckless. Life is one big party for Heath, that is, until dramatic events turned his world upside down…. and Sadie came along and changed everything.

Sadie, a professional chief to the stars, landed a dream job in the Hamptons working for Heath Hillabrand – playboy extraordinaire. Being attracted to Heath is the bane of her existence. See, Sadie has major trust issues when it comes to men. Being burnt by every man who has entered her life, she swears Heath will not penetrate her Teflon armor. Needless to say, Heath is charmingly persuasive, truly irresistible and up for the challenge. After all, no woman has resisted his charms, and he is not about to accept Sadie’s rejection lightly. It was a battle and Sadie put up a good fight…but she really did not stand a chance. And Heath was determined to win the war.

'I felt like I was losing it, like some stupid fucking juvenile who couldn't stop herself from obsessing over a crush. I couldn't make logical decisions around this man. He had me under some type of dicknosis. Over and over, I had to remind myself to breathe, because every time I thought of him, I would involuntarily stop.'
"I was possessed by his demon cock.”

I really liked Heath’s character. He was charismatic, brooding and oh so deliciously erotic. He had dark secrets, which added another layer of attraction for me. I love a dirty talker, and he does it well. The passionate scenes were off the charts sizzling. Got to give props to a stud that can screw a girl seven ways till Sunday from a wheelchair, casted arms and all. (Limo scene was UNBELIEVABLY superb too!!) I adore when a naughty bad boy becomes smitten. I fell for Heath’s charms from the very start.

Sadie was likeable, yet frustrating at times. However, what added drama to the storyline was her denying her amorous feelings for Heath. I love the element of angst. For me, I like a bit of “the chase” instead of insta-love in the plot. Sometimes, it’s good to see an arrogant bastard brought to his knees and humbled. And Sadie certainly gave Heath a run for his money.

All in all, this was a good read for me. It was well written and had all the right elements:

dominating alpha
stubborn heroine
a dash of drama
dark secrets revealed
and passion, sex, chemistry and heat

I would have liked a bit more out of the story. Perhaps a glimpse into Sadie and Heath’s future and more of their “happily ever after”. The ending was a bit rushed. Never the less, I look forward to reading more from this author.

"Listen, you know if there is anyone who understands loss, it's me. I maybe carefree, but I am not careless. I don't ever want to hurt you. I know I've been an immature jackass. It's just when we met, there was something about you and I went into overdrive. It's what's worked for me in the past. I don't know how else to explain it other than that you turned me into a 16-year-old all over again. You made me nervous.”

3 Sweet Stars!

This is my third book of Nina.G.Jones that I have read. I really enjoyed her 'Strapped' series which is dark erotica with suspense and much more. This book of hers was a total change, it's a fun, quick, funny and sweet read.

Sadie is a chef, she is sarcastic and guarded. She thinks hot men can't be trusted with your heart. Having her heart broken by a hot player caused these opinions to form.So what will happen when she has to work for hot, player and international supermodel Heath?

Heath is a rich supermodel who pretty much has it all. Well that's what it seems on the outside but there is a lot more to Heath than he lets on.Money can't buy everything and that's how Heath feels. An incident occurs in which Sadie has to help Heath out and this brings them closer together. She starts seeing Heath as more than an arrogant player. But can anything come from their attraction towards each other? Is this something they should take a chance on?

"Yeah, well now I'm back to six-foot-three and I don't know where anything is in that damn kitchen, so I look through all the cupboards and drawers just to find a goddamn spatula. Then I saw your betrayal: hiding cookies from me.It hurt, I must admit."

This story was pretty straight forward and predictable.Heath was funny and cocky and Sadie was sarcastic. At time they both frustrated the hell out of me I just wanted to shake them and scream 'Get your shit together people!' Wow that sounds really weird but hey it's what I would have said. I liked it but wanted something more added to it. If you like hot quick funny reads this is a book for you ;)

When I read the synopsis of this book I was really looking forward to reading it. It sounded like just the kind of drama I like in my stories. Unfortunately it was a lot different than it was described.
Yes, Sadie was a chef who went to work for Heath, a model who was used to having people fawn over him. Yes, Heath was attracted to Sadie and made it obvious. What you don't get from the description of the book is that Sadie was attracted to Heath as well and within a week she was rolling around on the ground with him. Right after that happened Heath was in a bad car accident and had both legs and one arm in casts. Sadie stayed in his house to take care of him but within a few days she was giving him a hand job when she was supposed to be washing him (and not at his request, it was her own idea and she never asked him if it was okay with him!). From there it escalated quickly until she was having sex with him in his bed or his wheelchair almost every night but was upset with herself about wanting it so would take it out on him. She was constantly verbally abusing him to the point where I was cringing, wondering why he would take that crap from anyone. Sadie believed Heath was superficial and was always judging him, in her mind and out loud, but still getting down and dirty with him every chance she got. It was fairly early in the book when Heath explained his history and that made me feel even worse for him because he just took what she gave him but never treated her poorly.
I have a huge problem with domestic violence when it's a female doing it to a male. I'm not saying it's okay when a man does it to a woman, just don't like that it's considered acceptable (even funny) when it's female to male. I can see now that I have a huge problem with verbal abuse because if the roles were reversed in this book, the main storyline would probably be about her getting herself out of the bad situation she was in. As it stands this book came across as the author believing it was okay for Sadie to treat Heath so horribly and that completely ruined it for me.

☆☆☆ 3 Scoundrel Stars ☆☆☆

What happens when ice queen meets playboy model? Well you got yourself a hot and cold relationship filled with humor, banter, and of course bangin’ sex in Gorgeous Rotten Scoundrel. It’s game on for Heath and Sadie in this tale of two stubborn, hot headed and beautiful couple learning to get along as friends and lovers.

Boy meets girl. Girl get hired as an employee..Then all out sexual tension begins till boy and girl finally release all the sexual chemistry looming in the air. I found this book to be pretty straightforward and predictable as most romance books are. What I did enjoy about this book the most was the banter and the sexual chemistry Heath and Sadie had. What made me not so much like this book. was that I couldn't connect or like Sadie’s character. She was a tad bit annoying to me but I did like Heath’s character. Looks can definitely be deceiving and this bay boy Lothario was nothing but a total sweetheart and his personal chef, Sadie was a hungry kitten who had a big sexual appetite. If you are looking for a quick easy straightforward romantic tale, then go read Gorgeous Rotten Scoundrel.

A ROMANTIC AND SEXY READ

First read for me by this author, i liked her writing style. This is a light romantic story but it contains all the essentials, a handsome bad boy hero and a likeable heroine. Sadie is a private chef to celebraties, her current client a pro football player is leavingNew York which will leave her high and dry, till her friend Mindy recommends her to Heath a 6, 3" male model. He needs her to work for him as he's spending the summer at the Hamptons an exclusive resort for the rich and famous.

Right from their first meeting the sparks fly, but Sadie has had her fair share of lotharios with their revolving bedroom doors. But Heath proves to be irrisistible even if he is a jerk.

I really liked this it was a very entertaining read. This author certainly knows how to pull a story together. The light and humourous moments were balanced out with the passion and chemistry between these two. I'll definitely be reading more of this authors work.

This book is a lot different than Nina's other books; for starters it's a light and sweet read. I was gunning for a fast and cute read so this book definitely fit the bill.

The blurb is terribly misleading. Reading it, I expected there to be a love-hate drama going on, funny quarrel but that's not the case at all. Sadie almost immediately fell into a sexual relationship with Heath and from that, love began to blossom between them.
Their relationship development grew to fast for my taste -- I thought it wasn't believable.

Overall, it's a 3 for me.

Being a huge NGJ fan, I was pretty disappointed with this book. The book was too monotonic. I can't even count the number of times I've taken a nap while reading this book. The Charachters Sadie and Heath did have a heck a lot of quirky moments but the storyline was too predictable, that it diluted the presence of humour. Towards the end there were just too many eye rolls and face palm moments.

I have to say that at first I was skeptical, I wasn’t sure I was going to really like this story. However I must say to never judge a book by its first few pages! I am loving the characters here, the storyline has a great pace to it, I hate when it takes way too long to get to the nitty gritty of the story.

Sadie is great, seems a little insecure but I get her, she works hard as a chef and trying to make it. I wish we would have learned more about her parents, but this book wasn’t about her parents. Then there is Nonna her grandmother, what an amazing bond they share.

Brock is hot basketball player, who eventually becomes her friend then he gets traded. Now she must find a new job. Mindy tells Sadie about a new position that is available and who the guy is that is looking for a personal chef, Sadie agrees to meet with him she knows Brock is leaving and she needs the work. She meets with Heath and immediately judges him; he is a supermodel, super sexy, very popular, very sexual person. He has a reputation for the biggest parties and always surrounded by model type woman.

Heath is a hot supermodel…..umm really yeah I wouldn’t mind and he becomes her new employer and so much more. Sadie agrees to the employment terms, quickly she becomes attracted to Heath; they have this hot and cold relationship (Sadie not Heath). Sadie has been hurt, bad by someone before and has built a wall around her.

There were a few things that could have gone either way or relationships explained a little more but all in all good story. I totally recommend this book. I loved it.

** JEN'S 4.5 STAR REVIEW **

“I’m not a sex kitten, I don’t wear my sexuality on my sleeve. It’s not that I don’t think I’m attractive, but at heart, I am just a girl who likes to cook, I’m simple that way. But occasionally I meet a guy who makes me think pretty much exclusively with my p**** and then all I can think about is rubbing it all over him.”

If the synopsis didn’t get your attention then maybe that did it. OMG, let me say this book had me laughing out loud so many times I had tears in my eyes. I mean seriously even when there was some sexy time going on I was cracking up. The humor was just perfectly thrown in at just the right times. It really helped to lighten the mood of what was going on because there are times where things get extremely heated between the main characters. And I’m not talking in a sexual way. Don’t get me wrong there are tons of scenes with sex but man can these two characters fight like nobody’s business. Well I guess I should clarify that. More like Sadie could pick a fight like it’s nobody’s business.

Sadie is a personal chef to one of the biggest up and coming stars of the NBA but she ends up finding herself unemployed not long after we first meet her. With the help of one of her closest friends she ends up getting a new summer gig working as a personal chef/assistant to a very sought after model. Things don’t go as well as Sadie hopes. In her mind Heath is just like every guy she’s ever met or dated. So right off the bat she thinks she has him all figured out. He’s a pig, he’s selfish, rich so he can get away with anything, can do whatever he wants with no regard to anyone else, only cares about himself, arrogant, loose with woman (you get the idea). And of course Heath plays right into what she thinks he’s all about.

I loved the give and take, the push and pull that was going on with these two. Of course he’s gorgeous, sexy and playful but there is so much more to him. Sadie however doesn’t want to give him the time of day. She’s so concerned about protecting herself that she ends up finding herself in a situation where she battles with what her body wants and what her head is telling her.

“But my heart ached, it ached and I couldn’t exactly identify why. I think it was because I was angry with myself. After Kenneth, I nearly swore off all men, and dated Velveeta exclusively.”

I gotta say I really really enjoyed Sadie. She’s a little neurotic, frigid, closed off and definitely a little bit on the bitchy side. This girl doesn’t take any crap from anyone and she gives as good as she gets if not more. Very determined, strong and passionate. Now mind you she has her reasons for being the way she is and some had me completely sympathetic to her while others had me wanting to shake her. There were even times I wanted to high five her. She definitely was a blast to read about.

Their attraction to each other is off the charts and even when things are heated you can really feel the sexual tension between them. When they do get together, they are off the charts hot. Nina really wrote some amazing sex scenes. And it’s not all tender and slow. The angrier it was the hotter they were. And yes the funnier Sadie became. But that’s all I’m going to say about that.

This is the first novel that I have read from Nina and I can tell you I am definitely a fan now. I really loved this story and honestly I really could not get enough of Sadie and Heath. Now as hot, sexy and funny as it was, this story also had me shedding a few tears. The only reason I can’t give this one a 5 star rating is because I wanted an epilogue at the end. Don’t get me wrong I was left completely satisfied I just wanted more of them. With that said I would definitely recommend this book. You won’t be disappointed.

We all have guilty pleasures. I’ve long held to the belief that vices help keep us sane. Whether it’s chocolate, alcohol, smoking cigarettes, sex, music or money, we all have things that are indulgences. Things we do or eat or smoke that give us a moment to unwind, to breathe in a different way, to shuck whatever confines us, even for a few moments.

Sadie Lee is buttoned up tight. She may not have her life planned all the way out. She may not be a slave to her ambition or profession, but she is in absolute control of her emotions at all times. Sadie is on lockdown. She’s a bit of a cold fish. But she’s got her reasons and when you learn them, you can’t help but be in her corner.

Heath Hillabrand is a male model. And appears to be completely committed to fulfilling every stereotype attributed to his profession that he can find. He’s a round the clock partier with flocks of women constantly looking for a place upon which to perch where he will shower them with his perfection. At first glance, Heath is a toddler wrapped in the skin of an Adonis.

Sadie and Heath together are like oil and vinegar. You put them next to each other and they do everything they can to stay away from each other. But you shake them up, knock them around a little bit, and they can’t help but end up in each other’s arms. They compliment each other. They balance each other. They bring out the best (and occasionally the worst) in each other. They’re perfect together, even when all they do is fight.

Nina G. Jones has written the perfect guilty pleasure. This book is incredibly fun to read. It’s the kind of book that you have to look up every so often and share it with the whole room. It’s the kind of book you gush about to your friends. It’s written so fluidly and so perfectly that as soon as I finished the last page, I was ready to start all over again.

This book is paced perfectly – giving the reader time to invest in each character while still keeping you on your toes. It is sexy as hell – Sadie and Heath find all new ways to explore each other’s bodies, even when one is wrapped in plaster. It’s laugh out loud funny – these two characters are smart, witty and come up with some of the very best one-liners I’ve ever had the pleasure to read. It’s super sweet – watching these two characters find their way to each other is infuriating but also fantastically, endearingly fun and sweet.

If your guilty pleasure is rapid-fire wit mixed with adventure, sass and irresistible charm all wrapped up in a crazy hot package, this book is just waiting to be imbibed. Everything about this book is everything the perfect vice should be – habit forming, enticing, a little bit naughty and a whole lot satisfying.

I have just read Debt so I thought I'd read something else from this author. These two books are like night and day. This is the much lighter story of a chef and a model.

Personal chef, Sadie has mile-high walls around her heart after finding out her fiance cheated on her for the whole time they were together. Being the only person unaware of his philandering shattered her trust. Her problem is her natural attraction to the sexy, charming and outgoing men that balance her more reserved personality. Her new client, superstar model, Heath fits the bill perfectly and has the manwhore title that goes along with all the looks and charisma. Despite their electric chemistry she is determined to deny the attraction between them, unwilling to risk the heartbreak of being betrayed again.

I loved the dynamic between these two. They have epic fights which combust into hot hate-sex. Heath is the antithesis of the hero in Debt: he is relaxed and fun-loving and the only thing that gets him fired up is Sadie. Sadie is so uptight and reserved that she needs someone like him to pull her out of her shell. I loved their first meeting, Heath answers the door bare chested and barefoot with a near naked model wandering around the house, when Sadie arrives to the interview for the chef position.

 "I need a smoke. Let's go outside."
"Sure." I hate smoking. He led me out the back of the house to a lush Japanese garden. It was hard not to swoon over it, it even had one of those little bridges over a little pond. "Your house is gorgeous by they way."
"Thanks, I just rent it for the summer." He pulled out a bowl of weed, lit it up, and took an inhale. "Want?"
He has to be fucking kidding me. "No"

I enjoyed this book. The writing is really clunky at the start. I particularly hate when a character or the author speaks to the reader and there was both in this. I nearly chucked it a few times but the author hit her stride and the writing smoothed out for the rest of the book. It is a good story so I don't mind mentally editing the bits I don't like.

This is the easiest 5 stars I've given a book all year. LOVED This book, from start to finish. I was completely drawn in and hooked within the first 3 pages and I didn't put my kindle down until I'd finished. Great read.
If you love a cocky, arrogant, selfish, funny male and a nice, slightly lost but can be feisty female then this is the book for you.
Gorgeous rotten scoundrel follows Heath and Sadie. Sadie is a personal chef and Heath is a model who he hires to cook and help with other duties during the summer. Heath is everything Sadie hates in a man because of a bad relationship, but Heath doesn't help the situation by living a carefree life style, having women on tap when he wants and just being a general "jack the lad". But after a incident there relationship changes, Heath slowly starts to break through Sadies walls and show her the other side of himself and show her he can be what she needs and wants if she will let him.
Sadie is very closed off and fights and fights her attraction and there smoking sexual attraction because of her fear of getting hurt and being alone. But Heath isn't the man to take no for an answer.
The sex scenes throughout the book were verrrryyyyy hot and some of the best sex scenes I've read in a long time. They were refreshing and not the usual predictable scenes I've read over and over but using different words.
The writing throughout the book was spot on in every sense. The characters had depth and there was a lot if humour throughout. I loved Heaths funny side. He did some crazy stuff,.
This book was very unique and refreshing. I can honestly say I have found my new BFF in Heath. He's got everything a girl could ask for.
Amazing story, amazing characters what more could you ask for in a book?!
5 stars but I'd give it more if I could.

This was a really fun read for me! On one hand it’s that story you have likely read before – the cliche bad boy (in this case model) reformed by life altering circumstances and the good girl who loved him. But on the other, it was filled with such enjoyable banter, I just didn’t care. The honesty and humor in Sadie’s POV was easy to connect to and enjoy. She was the doting personal chef with a track record of dating (and almost marrying) the arrogant asshole types. Enter Heath, the incredibly narcissistic asshole, at least given his first impression, at her interview to be his chef for the summer. I hated him and loved him instantly because I knew this could be a great redemption story and that there clearly was more to Heath than meets the eye.

True to form, Heath was instantly attracted to Sadie, and vice versa. However, just when Sadie thought she’d had enough of Heath’s playboy antics, that life-altering event occurred and Sadie was soon the only person remaining by Heath’s side. We instantly saw different sides of both characters – strength and perseverance in Sadie, and helplessness and dependence in Heath. Very quickly these two forged a great friendship neither had built the likes of before. It was incredibly fun to watch their chemistry skyrocket and Sadie’s intense jealousy fuel the fire. I thoroughly enjoyed the drama and the bickering and the fighting and the sex. It was a steamy read, even mixing passion and humor.

Now there was plenty of drama to be found here. Sadie herself had a few crazy moments, but there was indeed much more to this beautiful man Heath, and what Sadie discovered was truly complementary to her. These two very lonely souls found something in that could only be found with each other – home. A little cliche but a really fun read.

One of the things I love most about this whole blogging/reviewing is the thrill of the hunt. You know, searching for that little gem that contains all the elements you enjoy in a good romance story. Imagine my excitement when Gorgeous Rotten Scoundrel fell into my lap. The blog’s email get’s inundated by a plethora of review requests on a daily basis from authors, street team member, blog tour companies and sometimes publishers. We have a main shared spot were all the requests are stored and we then proceed to filter through and find one we would be interested in reviewing. For me, the book blurb has to have that special je nais sais quoi and Gorgeous Rotten Scoundrel had what I was looking for and I proceeded to contact the author who was extremely friendly and promptly sent me the ARC as well as some promotional excerpts from the book. There was probably about ten of them which all made me laugh really hard and I promptly scheduled this book on the calendar because, Nina had me hook, line and sinker... more here.

I have gotten to the 48% mark and have decided enough is enough. I thought the story line sounded interesting and sexy. It began pretty good. I am not a fan of present tense but I shrugged it off and moved forward. Well, the reason I am not a fan is because it is really tough to stay in that tense, and this book proved it. There was so much back and forth between tenses that it really became too noticeable to me. I am also not a fan of comedic romance (Wallbanger being the exception) , but I can also read through that. But when you start making snarky remarks during sex in your head, it just really turns me off. I also don't like the telling me a story format. I prefer to be reeled in as if I am the character. I'm not watching a television show, I'm reading a book, which means I want to be inside the book, not a bystander. But these are all preferences. Preferences that I could not get past. Therefore, this will go in my growing stack of DNF.

I thought this would be, cautious been hurt before girl goes to work for arsehole guy, yadda, yadda, they fall in love, well it's starts off like that but builds into a really sweet heart warming story, don't get me wrong they are both nightmares and they say horrendous things to each other, but when you scrape everything away they are very similar, two lost souls trying to make the best of life they can, I genuinely got a bit tearful in parts which I wasn't expecting. I routed for Heath more even though he was a bit if a dick, but when your a supermodel you get away with it, but saying that I thought he was more cheeky then downright nasty. I loved Mindy, Sadie's friend so outspoken, she definitely needs her own book. there is loads of steam in this one, some of it dirty, some really sweet and some gives you ideas...edible paint anyone?...,definite TBR.

I'm a big fan of Nina's other books (Strapped series and Debt) but this book didn't impress me much, I'm sorry to say. Maybe because Heath is just way too in love with himself or Sadie is just a judgemental, superficial girl, but I didn't really enjoy it. The way they are around each other, him all cocky and her all prude'ish was quite annoying. While the end was quite sad and sort of cute, I didn't feel the love between these characters... nor the passion and intensive conection I'm used to in Nina's books.

What an interesting person, this Heath Hillabrand. At first, so shallow that I didn't like him at all. Then, step by step, he got me to admit there really was something more about him. Then I started liking him. And now I had to admit I was wrong about my first impression. Yep, mea culpa.
I liked the guy.
You will too. :*

4.5 stars! I LOVED this! Sadie was hilarious and Heath wasn't your run-of-the-mill gorgeous, full of himself model. Highly recommend.
