When eighteen-year-old Winter McCall is offered a chance to leave her life of poverty behind on the streets of London, she reluctantly accepts, and moves to a remote part of the south west of England.
Here she takes up the job as housekeeper to the young and handsome, yet mysterious, Thaddeus Blake.
Warned that he has some curious habits, Winter soon realises that not all is as it firsts appears at the remote mansion where she now lives and works. Blind to the real danger that she is in, Winter finds herself becoming attracted to Thaddeus.
With nowhere to run and no one to turn to, she slowly succumbs to his strange requests. But none of them are as strange as his requests for her to stand each night in the moonlight.

I really love the two characters in this book - Winnie and Thad. Winnie has been living on the streets of London with her friend Ruby when a stranger,(Thad)makes her an offer which she struggles to decide on. Thad is full of mystery but what makes him even more mysterious is the strange requests he asks of Winnie. Great book from a wonderful trilogy! :)
In the wee hours of the morning, Tim O’Rourke released his latest novel, Moonlight, a new series that he’s had under wrap and key, only recently announcing its upcoming release to his fan base. Highly exuberant about any new release of O’Rourke’s, I set aside my vast reading pile to swoop in and devour this enticing story of Winter and Thaddeus. And once again, O’Rourke does not disappoint.
Winter—aka. Winnie—is homeless, living on the streets of London just trying to survive day by day. Thaddeus, a poet with a massive house and odd sleeping habits, is a lonely young man looking for someone to help with the burden of his home. Or, so he says when he approaches Winnie with the opportunity of a lifetime. Of course, not all is what it seems, as Winnie soon discovers, and I absolutely loved sleuthing around beside her as I read, trying to piece together the puzzles within the novel and figure it out before all was revealed. I failed, of course. Every time I thought I knew what was happening, a new twist would arise, forcing me to change my predictions, over and over again. It turns out that I was technically right the first time I assumed something about the characters, but only partially, and I love how O’Rourke can cause me to second-guess myself as I read. Any novel that keeps me on my toes is amazing, in my opinion, and so far, every single one of O’Rourke’s books have done it. Every. Single. One. Now that, ladies and gentlemen, is the power of a truly gifted writer. O’Rourke simply amazes me.
Winnie is a great character, and for those of you who have read O’Rourke’s Kiera Hudson series, I’d say she definitely rivals Kiera—neck and neck. (Haven’t read the Kiera Hudson Series? What are you waiting for? Do. It.) I really enjoyed Winnie’s candid, no-nonsense personality, and as she began to suspect that things were very wrong, her bravado and spunk really endeared her to my heart. Though I didn’t agree with all her choices, in the end, I believe she did exactly as she should.
Thaddeus is, of course, an amazing character. His nearly bi-polar personality was scary to watch, and his cagey responses to Winnie’s questions kept me on edge throughout the novel. Of course, I was convinced he was worse than Jack the Ripper as I read (is he? Read and find out…), so my fear for Winnie was palpable throughout the novel, especially as the truth unfolded and the characters were left with some dire choices to make.
Now, while there is a cliffhanger of sorts at the end, one of the things I love so much about O’Rourke’s writing is that he generally closes each novel very neatly. As the reader, I know there is more to come, but the main concerns within this novel have been address very well, and though I’m dying to get my hands on the sequel already, I am content with the wait as O’Rourke didn’t leave many loose ends, as so many novels do, nowadays. Also, I know O’Rourke writes extremely quickly, and I won’t have to wait a whole year for the sequel, so… that’s another plus.
Overall, this is a fantastic new series and if you haven’t read any of O’Rourke’s work to date, then this is the perfect one with which to begin. There is some language usage within the novel, but otherwise the story is relatively clean, save some descriptive horror scenes, but even those were miniscule and didn’t make me squeamish. I’d recommend this for readers aged 15 and above, especially those who like a good mystery.
Winter (Winnie) has been on the streets since she left her foster home, relying on herself for years. She’s captured the attention of a wealthy stranger who wants to offer her a job and chance to start a new life. However, Thaddeus is an eccentric man who has a few odd requests for Winnie that he requests she does including cooking and cleaning.
The more time that she spends with Thad the more she starts to question his motives, after all, she looks similar to his deceased wife and even wants her to dress like she used to. What happens when the killers that have been moving across the country arrive at the doorstep while Thaddeus is away. How will Winnie handling learning his true motives and that her life is in danger by something she didn’t even know existed?
I like Winnie she an interesting character who is willing to take a chance risk it all on the hopes of being able to start a new life. I like how she and Thad have a connection and even though he’s keeping secrets he shows her part of himself. I think Thad work’s he’s a good guy with good intentions even if he is using Winnie she is benefiting from her time with him.
I’ve had this one on my kindle for a while but I’m not sure why I never gave it a chance before as I’m a huge shifter fan. The concept of the vampires is unique they have some typical vampire traits as well as a little different. This isn’t your typical vampire romance instead we have a sweet romance tossed in with supernatural bad guys and secrets that could change it all. I like the characters it was easy to connect with Winnie as well as Thad. This is my first novel by the author so I was a little unsure but I found his storytelling captivating. I’m looking forward to finishing the series because I have to know how it’s going to play out. A perfect mix of mystery, horror, and just enough romance to leave you wanting more.

The story was good and i didn't really could guess the suspense till end..though a 'little' predictable i liked this and am looking forward for the sequel. Sri.
Tim O’Rourke decided to pull another book series out of that awesome mind of his and surprise everybody. We have been given the tale of Winter McCall and Thaddeus Blake.
Winnie’s life hasn’t been easy, she has had to survive on the streets of London, having only one friend, trusting no one. She was spotted by Thad on the steps of the Embankment Tube Station begging for money. Winnie has pride and has never traded favours for money. So when Thad offers her a chance to escape the life she was forced to live, he will pay her, it goes against every rule she had given herself.
She takes a chance. Thaddeus only asks that she do something for him when he asks.
Will she regret taking that chance? Can she trust a rich, mysterious, eccentric good looking man?
What I love about Tim’s two lead characters are, they are very different to the main characters in Kiera Hudson series and Cowgirls & Vampires. Thad is not a Harry or a Potter type. Thad is mysterious and eccentric and he keeps you guessing. He has built a wall around him that keeps his secrets locked away.
Thad and Winnie are both lonely people, they are a bit like the odd couple under one roof. Thad sleeps during the day, works at night and writes poetry. He became a bit of a hermit after the death of his wife, Frances.
Winnie is quite a spitfire as she has had to survive and protect herself on the streets of London, she doesn’t suffer fools and she will lay it all out if she thinks she is being duped. At the same time she has a naivety about her that makes the reader connect with her. She is only eighteen years old and has lived a life without love and family.
This first book in the trilogy has Tim setting the characters and sub characters and villains up for us, the reader. The ‘Tim Factor’ is still ever present with his ability to deceive the reader and sow some seeds along the way for future books, and make you ‘feel’ for his characters .
There is one little character who I LOVE and I really loved the way Tim has used this character.
There is of course the gore, Tim likes some gore and I almost expect some heads to be torn from a body in true Tim style when I read a new book.
The romance is light , if at all as these two characters are struggling to let each other in, break down the walls they have put up for themselves and learn to trust and be trusted. The villains are very villainous, I scored a bit of a bad to the bone character, no sexy cowgirl for me * cough Louise * ( Cowgirls & Vampires series ) . I also earned the title of Beta Reader from Tim as I have been apparently beta...ing J Thankyou Tim J
Thaddeus the mysterious eccentric will keep you wondering and hoping and wondering. Winter you will want to hug and keep safe. I can’t wait to find out where Tim is going to take us, and if Winter will get a happiness and safety she deserves.
FAVE QUOTES:
With tears burning in the corners of her eyes and feeling useless, she looked at Thaddeus and said, “When you’re freezing cold, tired, and starving hungry, you would eat anything. I guess you wouldn’t have the faintest idea how that would feel. I know people back in London who would sell themselves for a meal like that tonight.”
“Why do you have to be so...so...” she trailed off, unable to think of the word she wanted.
“Good looking?” And now his smile turned to a grin, hidden by the paper.
“Weird, was the word I was actually thinking of,” she said slamming the book shut.
This fantastic paranormal read had me glued to the page, as I was entranced and hypnotised by this compelling tale!!
I am so impressed by Tim O’Rourke whose novel ‘Moonlight’ surpassed and exceeded all positive expectations, as it totally blew me away by its originality within this genre. The striking, eye-catching cover is amazing and which I feel is one of the best book covers I have seen! I was anticipating a slightly rudimentary story about a Werewolf hence I was delighted by the fresh, unique and distinctive style with such an incredible plot as to astonish and amaze. Fans of Twilight will absolutely love this book, which is a spectacular debut promising much to come within this trilogy that I cannot wait to devour. The characters are so inspired and singular that they pull the story along, and I was mesmerised by winter’s journey from the filth and squalor of London’s murky streets to the remote South West English countryside, where Thaddeus resides. Full of electric tension and suspense, twists & turns this was a most enjoyable and addictive read that I cannot enthuse about enough.
As Winter McCall takes a housekeeping job in a house owned by the mysterious, aloof and secretive Thaddeus Blake who is as handsome as he is mystifying she does not heed those warnings that have been frequented several times with her curiosity and inquisitiveness getting the better of her. Within a great mansion that looms like a back shadow, not all is as it seems for winter soon comes to realize that there lies beneath the surface a terrible and great secret. Whilst blind to the danger that she is in winter becomes attracted to Thaddeus and soon with nowhere to run to and no one to turn to, she succumbs to his peculiar and strange requests; including for her to stand underneath the moonlight every night. As the intensity and tension rises it is not long before the truth is revealed that ultimately leads to one of the most exciting, spine-chilling and utterly fantastic climatic & dramatic endings.
This outstanding read has to be one of the most electrifying, stirring and gripping reads that I have read this year, which is character-driven within the most unexpected plot that sends your pulse racing. It felt as if my heart was beating out of my chest as I experienced the breathtaking drama as I lost myself within the pages. I cannot wait to read the next instalment within the moon trilogy, together with adding more of this accomplished and brilliant author’s work to my bookshelves. If I could give Moonlight higher than a five star review I would for the reason that it sent Goosebumps down my arm, for it was such an exciting read; totally exceptional and innovative.
*I would like to take this opportunity to thank the author for sending me a copy of his book to read. I am most indebted and cannot praise his writing enough. Also, his attention-grabbing poster of the cover never fails to send a chill down my spine & a smile to my face as I pluck Moonlight off the shelf to re-read*
In this book, you meet a very poor girl in her late teens, who has learned to fend for herself on the streets, and a nice, rich, young man who has taken an interest on her. So now you think, "Ah, teen romance... what's new about that"... WRONG!!! you are so wrong... not only is there no real romance in this book...but it's the beginning of a roller-coaster adventure for both of them. There's a web of secrets and lies knit around the handsome Thaddeus Blake and Little miss Winter will be the one to start unraveling them, the hard way... running into trouble and most unsuspected enemies. The question is, once she faces the truth, the facts that surround Thaddeus... will she stay around or will she walk away?
I really enjoy Tim's writing style and this new series has taken off to a great start.
This story was a little shorter than most of Tim's Ive read but none the less and enjoyable read to fill in time before sleep .
Tim has the knack for giving the reader such vivid details in his writing , I feel as though Im in every story he writes.
This story being a little shorter I eagerly await the next one to get a little more insight into the characters - and see which direction this storyline will take us.
I certainly will be reading more of this story to find out which way Tim takes us in The Moon Trilogy !
I'm sitting here and my mind draws blank on what are my thoughts about this one. One thing I know for sure is that I didn't love it, most of the times hated it, whilst there were those sprinkled moments that I had those Awwwww moments.
I wanted to rate this a 2.5 stars.
It felt like a daytime soap drama with alot of bad acting. I really don't see myself moving unto book two. My eyes still hurt from the contant rolling it did, throughout this book.
Absolutely loved this book, it has it all blood, and a whole lot of mystery. Loved Winnie and Thaddeus, he is so mysterious, one minute you've think you've got him figured out, then the next minute you totally haven't. Can't wait for the next one to see where the story takes us!!
This first book shows promise! I wouldn't say it was full of mystery, because a reader who's a fan of fantasy novels sees the obvious beforehand, but it was intriguing all the same. We get a whole new picture of what a vampire looks like in this book, we're a far cry from Edward Cullen's appearance. I can't wait to see where the author takes us in the next one.
I’ve been putting off reading Tim’s Kiera Hudson series for months now needing to do something about my never ending TBR pile that continues to grow on a daily basis. With the release of Moonlight and its interesting premise, I found my way into Tim’s clutches, and I’m glad I did. I can honestly say that I am now a fan of his writing and look forward to starting and finishing both of Tim’s Kiera Hudson series as well as the next book in this series.
Eighteen-year-old Winter McCall has been living on the streets of London struggling to survive. She meets Thaddeus Blake a supposed writer who offers her a chance of a lifetime; to get off the streets. All she has to do is become Thaddeus’s housekeeper and do what he asks of her, no matter how strange the request is. Since I haven’t read Tim’s other series, I have no comparison to guide me when reviewing her character. I will say that Winnie surprises me with her actions. Without spoiling anything, she really stands up and takes responsibility for her actions at the sake of her own life and that of Thaddeus’s. Winnie isn’t a stupid character by any means. She knows there’s some weird stuff happening around Thaddeus and learns how to adjust to his whims.
Thaddeus could be considered the eccentric millionaire who is on the look-out for someone to take care of his estate while he hides away doing whatever he really does. In reality, Thaddeus is much more than that and he hides away a devastating secret. I honestly thought Thaddeus was a different sort of character, and was surprised by the revelation as to what he really is. Of course, not as surprised as Winnie was when the truth comes out. Thaddeus isn’t really the story here. It’s Winnie and her exposure to a whole new world and how she reacts to it.
I am not shocked that Tim leaves us hanging in the end. Since I started following reviews of his books, it seems to be normal and not a rarity. So yes, I will somehow, someway find a way to grab hold of the next book when it comes out and find out what Tim has in store for both characters.
I devoured this book in about 4 hours flat! I am a huge fan of anything Tim O'Rourke, he has such a vivid imagination and such a unique way of translating that to paper that you can't help but love his works. What I like most about O'Rourke is his nack for a lack of main characters but, an abundance of storyline and intrigue.
We spend the majority of this book with Winter and Thad, and that's about it. Boring you say? Oh hells no! The story is engrossing and I found myself anxiously turning each page awaiting what secret would lie on the next. Winter is very young and very trusting, ignoring that inner voice that keeps screaming stranger danger. Thad is slightly older, extremely secretive and largely eccentric; slowly but surely trusting Winter and sharing more and more of himself with her everyday.
The chemistry between these two is not immediately evident or in your face but, it's hiding there under the surface, waiting to be released. All the while these two are "getting to know each other", there is the underlying story of a series of horrific murder's plauging London. Oh, and, there might be some Vampire's and Werewolve's running amuck.
I give this one 5/5....... but, that's just my two cents!
I started and finished Moonlight by Tim O'Rourke today - read it during lunch, while I was cooking dinner, and skipped stuff on TV because this book was so good! As a fan of Tim's other series, I was excited that he wrote this book as the first of a new trilogy. The hero Thaddeus and the heroine Winter aka Winnie were both lost souls who capture the reader right from the beginning. What I liked best about this book was how unexpected the storyline was - had me guessing the entire time and I like when an author adds plenty of twists and turns. No spoilers from me, but readers will find that this book flows well and the pace is perfect. Looking forward to the next two books in this series - another winner from author Tim O'Rourke!
I really waffled between 3 and 4 stars for this book. I ended up going with 3 because I didn't feel enough connection to the characters to make me more enthusiastic.
That being said, I REALLY like Tim O'Rourke's style of writing. Its a refreshing change in 'voice', pacing, and character development. I'm wondering if the fact that he's male (and I've read mostly female paranormal writers) or that he's British is what makes him sound so different to me.
I was interested in the location for this story and was kept busy trying to guess where he was going with the story. Looking forward to the next one.
What!!? It can't be over! I must have the next book NOW! This author amazes me every time. His stories keep me turning page after page throwing me in a world of imagination that surpasses mine! Every time I think I know what will happen... It doesn't! Every character is so awesome within themselves you can't help but love them, flaws and all! This is a book you must pick up! Really if you love paranormal werewolves and vampires, you have to meet Tim's! Will. Blow. You. Away.
Received with thanks from the author in return for an honest review.
I had no expectations with 'Moonlight' as I hadn't read the synopsis. This is largely due to the fact that I have enjoyed every book of Tim's that I have read so far and wanted to start reading the main novel as soon as possible. The prologue grips the reader from the very beginning, '"Don't hurt me," the girl sobbed....', setting the scene with fear and tension as a young girl is being attacked. At first the reader has no idea who is attacking the girl but it soon becomes clear. For an opening scene, this gets the heartrate beating fast as you really feel for the victim, feel her fear and desperation with the added extras of gore and horror. Please note that the intended audience for this novel is young adult and adults alike.
As Chapter One begins we are introduced to the main male character, Thaddeus Blake. Over the coming pages we find out that he is a wealthy man, with a mansion at St. Ives in Cornwall that he inherited along with his wealth. He travels to London to meet his publisher and it is whilst he is in London that he notices Winter McCall.
Unfortunately for Winter, she has not lived such a lavish lifestyle. Begging on the streets outside train stations is where she has ended up every night in the hope to be given enough money to put food in her belly. Not one for selling her body like some did, Winter finds it very difficult to make ends meet, to survive.
In a creepy sort of way, once he had noticed Winter, Thaddeus watched her carefully from a distance. For the first few days he would come night after night, just watching her, watching how people treated her and how she handled them. When he feels ready he approaches Winter, offering to buy her dinner and to explain what he would like to do for her.
Although Winter is very doubtful and doesn't trust Thaddeus there is something about his voice and besides, what did she really have to lose? Thaddeus' offer is for Winter to travel to St. Ives with him to his mansion where she would be fed, clothed, paid and have a roof over her head. Her side of the bargain is to cook and clean for him as well as to carry out some odd tasks that he would ask of her from time to time. One of these being to stand in the moonlight when there is a full moon.
The atmosphere of this book is very creepy. Although Thaddeus has a soothing voice, good looks and appears to be helping Winter, the reader cannot trust him and is constantly worried about Winter's well-being. Winter is occasionally ridiculed by him only for him to realise and apologise. She knows that there is more to him than meets the eye and she does try to find out. The whole setting is very strange. During most part of the day Winter is left alone in the mansion whilst Thaddeus is in his room.
In order to create this dark, eerie atmosphere I did find the story in parts to be a little slow. When Winter is on her own I imagined what it is like to be in a large, strange house alone with nothing but your mind and imagination going wild. Paranoia sets in. Insecurity sets in. Time drags. Tim O'Rourke has written this very cleverly though as the reader goes through all of these motions with Winter. I was screaming for her to run. Every ounce of mistrust, every ounce of fear the reader can feel.
Without spoiling the story, as it nears the end there is a great deal of action, gore, horror and emotions running wild. The story is like an orchestra playing and the music gradually builds up, becoming louder and louder until it reaches a great crescendo. I was a little conscious in the middle of this book, thinking how indecisive Winter was about running or staying, and was hoping for more action and more underlying plots, BUT boy did I get what I wanted as the story grew!
Some readers may think Winter to be foolish by going along with Thaddeus, better the devil you know, as she placed herself in a vulnerable situation, alone with a guy she didn't even know and couldn't trust. However, a part of me cannot help but feel that she was courageous, she took a risk. But, did the risk pay off? With the danger that ensued it definitely made her think about her choices. As Thaddeus places Winter in a dangerous position, for partly his own benefit, there is a great deal of mistrust for him and he is partly a coward for doing this.
I think that the length of this novel was just right. As with all of the Tim O'Rourke books that I have read to date 'Moonlight' makes the reader feel as if they are a part of the story. You feel for Winter as if she were your sister or best friend. And I cannot explain how much terror you feel for her. I just wanted to jump into the book and pull her out to safety. There are very few authors that make the reader feel like they can almost touch the characters and live in the story but Tim O'Rourke has this fascinating gift. I would definitely recommend to any young adult/adult, depending on the intended audience, to read Tim's books. You will not be disappointed. If you've tried once, try another. I find these stories suck you in and you are in another world. This is fantasy as it's best! I will be looking forward to the following two books in this Moon Trilogy.

4.5 Stars! GoodReads Synopsis: When eighteen-year-old Winter McCall is offered a chance to leave her life of poverty behind on the streets of London, she moves to a remote part of the South West of England. Here she takes up the job as housekeeper to the young and handsome, yet mysterious, Thaddeus Blake.
Warned that he has some curious habits, Winter soon realises that not all is as it firsts appears at the remote mansion where she now lives and works.
Blind to the real danger that she is in, Winter finds herself becoming attracted to Thaddeus, and with nowhere and no one to run to, she slowly succumbs to his strange requests. But none of them are as strange as asking Winter to stand each night in the moonlight.
My Thoughts: OK, couldn’t put this one down, but had to to make dinner, etc. The story was not what you thought it was going to be.
Moonlight grabs you and doesn’t let go until it’s done. Pacing is quick and the author isn’t one to go on and on describing something (YAY!). There is a lot of meat to this story, pardon the pun. Moonlight starts with a murder and it isn’t until much later that you learn who the murder is, all the while wondering if our pal Thaddeus is the guy!! Lots of other sly plot points kept me guessing what was really going on until the author wanted us to know what was going on. Props to Tim O’Rourke for NOT being predictable.
Now that I have devoured the first book in this new series I am anxious for the next. I have my thoughts on where the storyline may take me, but won’t put much faith in my ideas since O’Rourke has made it clear he will keep me guessing until he is ready for me to know what is going on! In the meantime, I am definitely going to check out some of O’Rourke’s many other works. Love finding new authors!
Honestly Tim can do no wrong in my eyes. I am completely devoted to his books even though I wasn't sure how 'Moonlight' was going to stand against the wonderful 'Kiera Hudson' series but this was a true hit and totally different than KHS which is quite okay.
This book gives a lot of backstory in the first half with a ton of action throughout. When you read about the murders you have no idea as to who or what is doing the killing, so there is plenty of mystery as well. 'Moonlight' was a great ride that was over entirely too soon. It was fantastic, I just want ready to finish with them. I started it in the morning and finished it several hours later. I would not have been able to sleep tonight until I finished with this book it was just THAT good.
Tim creates such vivid and colorful characters that REALLY get inside you. They are so well crafted that you truly develop a strong disliking for the villains and you become extremely fond of the protagonist and his/her circle of friends. 'Moonlight' was no exception. I found myself wanting Winnie to find love and happiness with the tormented, heart broken Thaddeus. Which there is still hope for them. She deserves love in her life and so does he. However, we will have to see what happens.
There was one part in the book that scared me so much I pulled the covers up over my head and finished it. I NEVER do that, but there was just something about that particular chapter in the book just sent me over the edge.
I highly recommend this book especially if you are a werewolf lover or just a Tim O'Rourke fan. He never disappoints.
This is book one and it sets the tone for rest of the series, two lonely people drawn together by design or by circumstance. Thaddeus is a mysterious rich stranger offering Winter a way out of life on the streets in London. Winter is perplexed by the job offer which seems to good to be true but as she did not have much to lose, she chose to accept the position of housekeeper and travelled with Thaddeus to Cornwall. Her employer is a man of secrets, idiosyncrasies and strange requests that Winter agrees to initially like dressing up as his wife who passed away but she is reluctant to prolong this behaviour and confronts him. Rooms are off limits in the house, Thaddeus sleeps away the day and longs for the night and Winter begins to fear that she made a mistake by coming to Cornwall. Slowly a tentative friendship develops but as the walls begin to crumble from around their hearts, Winter starts seeing things that cause her to fear for her sanity, faces in the woods and a feeling of being watched. Secrets will be revealed that Winter could never have foreseen and her faith in Thaddeus will be tested. A choice has to be made and only by trusting each other can they hope to survive the experience. I enjoyed this story immensely but the only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is more of a personal one. Having read the Vampire Shift series, I felt this book lacked that real cliff hanger ending that I have become used to but I eagerly await the next book in the series.
Well Damn, he's done it again! This man CANNOT FAIL!! That was Bloody, Gross, Fast-paced & intense......... I loved every freakin second of it!! This book has a bit of everything in it & has left some images in my head I'm sure will give me nightmares. Thoroughly engrossing, full of surprises-blood-& guts. Just totally freaking AWESOME!! Tim O'O'Rourke has got to have one of the most wicked & twisted imaginations around. I don't know where he comes up with this stuff but boy am I glad he does!! I was completely wrapped up in this book from start to finish. From trying to unwrap the mystery in the beginning all the way thru the intense-trainwreck conclusion that had me fighting to sit still. I am dying to see where this story goes from here. I think I'm gonna love this series as much as Kieras!! You have definitely turned me into an addict Mr. O'Rourke & I will be totally tweaking-out til your next read is available. THANK YOU =)
Love my vampires and werewolves! As I'm one book in, I can say that I'm team wolf this time. My heart goes out to Thaddeus and what he's had to go through over the centuries. Being in love with a vampire is stressing enough, especially if you are a werewolf. Add in said vampire is the daughter to the ruler of the vamps, and it's downright dangerous. Winnie just happens to look like Thaddeus's dead vampire wife, Frances. She was homeless, and despite Thaddeus being a stranger, she agreed to work for him. She didn't find out the real reason he chose her, until it was too late. This story had me from the start because I wanted to know what the mystery was behind the three vampires who were slaughtering people. I bet I'm not the only one who was thinking about Thaddeus during the time of the killings. Threw me for a loop there! I'm just ready to find out what's going to happen next. Great story!
MOONLIGHT's Lycanthrope myth reminded me of Underworld and just like the movie, it was heartbreaking but not as violent... yet. I loved the blood and guts that Tim never fails to incorporate in his stories. I think I'm starting to develop an appetite for such bloody and graphic violence (scary!), I never thought I'd enjoy cannibalism this much. I'm still reserved as far as Thaddeus is concerned, he's gorgeous but I want to know more about the guy. As for Winter, I can only imagine how shocked she must be, the world as she knows it came to an end which makes book 2 very interesting.
I passed a pleasant evening with Moonlight, but anyone who has ever read Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Adventure Of The Copper Beeches will find this plot immanently familiar and predictable (just with a paranormal twist). As I have read Doyle's works it took a little of the fun out of it for me. I pretty much knew where the book was going from very early on. Despite that, I enjoyed O'Rourke's writing style and Thaddeus' personality (even if Winter didn't do too much for me) and Michelle, Claude, and Nate are fearsome foes. For a quick read Moonlight is well worth picking up.
I'm going to tell you at first I was all about Kiera Hudson series, who by the way is my favorite of Tim's books, but now that I've finished "Moonlight", I think this is going to be my next favorite. I love these characters and can't wait for the next book in this series. Tim O'Rourke has a way of making you feel like these characters are someone you know. I love the twists and turns because you think you have it all figured out and then the next paragraph changes it all. What I love is that it doesn't take me two or three chapters to get into the book, his starts from the first page and keeps going throughout the book. Tim you have a special gift, keep it up.
When I first saw the cover of this book I was instantly drawn to it.Then when I saw that it was by Tim O'Rourke I got very excited.I love all of his other books and I couldn't wait to see where this book would take me.It was worth the wait.I loved this book.I thought by the cover I had things figured out as I read the story. It turned out I wasn't even close.I loved Thaddeus and Winter.I couldn't put the book down and was looking for more when it was over.I can't wait to see what happens with them...
Phenomenal! Moonlight is another excellent story written by the brilliant Tim O'Rourke. I like how the story keeps you guessing, and keeps you on edge. The story is very intriguing and I love the main characters. It is fantastic start of a new series! And I am already looking forward for the next book. For those of you who hasn't read it yet, I highly recommend this book. Check it out! Love Love Love it!!!!!!!
