A weird short story about a journey into another, rather unpleasant dimension. The delivery was a little flat, however I'm not sure when it was written, and it's possible this story was an early foray into the genre of multi universe science fiction. If so, it was probably read with great interest at the time of writing.

This little story is a Classic piece of Golden Age Sci-Fi Pulp. And it's a lot of fun.

There's no pretentions about this one. It's all about Entertainment. An Interesting Idea, Quickly told and you move onto the next story.

So in this story there's Vic Butler, a Scientist with Red Hair, his sister Hope who has Big Blue Eyes, [because there always has to be a "girl" in these stories], and Pete Grahame, our Narrator and a Footballer, who knows Vic from the Old School Days and is looking the Know Hope sometime in the Future.

And the story is they go to Infra-Median-Land because Vic Butler has Invented a Machine that can send our Heros to Another Demension.

There's no real Science here. Pete Grahame being a Footballer wouldn't understand it anyways. All you have to know is that Two Different Pieces of Matter can't Occupy the Same Space. So Infra-Median-Land is between those Two Spaces, and when you go to Infra-Median-Land, you're Between Two Spaces.

And thus when you are there in Infra-Median-Land, you are somewhat Vaguely Defined and Somewhat Insubstantial. [Just go with it.]

Anyways, the story goes that our Three Heros go to Infra-Median-Land, meet some Pretty Cool Creatures, Get Threatened with Death, Escape, and Come Home Safe, Sound and Hungry for a Meal.

Great Stuff. And a lot of Fun. And Infra-Median-Land was actually kind of a Cool Place. It has a somewhat Lovecraftian look and feel about it.

And when the story was over, I laughed with Enjoyment. Because this was just a Fun Piece of Golden Age Sci-Fi Pulp Action and I loved it for that.

Mad science! An adventure in an alternate universe! Typical 1931 pulp sci-fi.

In this 1931 short science fiction tale, Pete Gramhame searches for his two friends, Vic and Hope, in a creepy land of lost souls and dark shadows who look for death.

This is story that kept my attention from start to finish, and the ending has
