Guardian Angel is the second book in the Aramov series by Robert Muchamore. It follows People's Republic which was released last year.
I really do love the Cherub books! Even though I always feel guilty reading them (with them being aimed at boys from the age of twelve, and I being an eighteen year old girl and all!), I just can't help myself! I adored the original series with James Adams, so it was normal that I wasn't too sure about PR when I first started it. I thought there was no way that Muchamore could have a follow on series almost ten years after the first book and it still be as good.
I was proven wrong. PR is as good if not better than the original Cherub series and I was, yet again, not disappointed with the latest installment. Guardian Angel follows on directly from the previous book. Unlike before when James had a different mission in each book, Ryan is still trying to get to the bottom of the Aramov Clan mission.
What I really liked about this book is that, even though it's the same mission, the stories in both books are extremely different. The first book is set in California while this book's setting varies from Kyrgyzstan to Africa to Dubai even! Muchamore continues the same story but keeps the reader interested by telling it in a different way. Muchamore develops even all the smaller aspects of the first story in this second book; Ning joining Cherub, Ryan's relationship with Grace, and most importantly Ethan's story. The story here is, again, very compelling. We get a better insight into the Aramov Clan itself, and we meet almost all the key members. This book is part of what will be a trilogy, and I think that if the last book is as good as the first two, it will really be an excellent trilogy! The first book is like an introduction to the mission. We meet all the main character and get to know them, while at the same time there is another story being told about a girl called Ning. Then, near the end both stories intertwine and we realize that the mission Ryan is on is a whole lot bigger than anyone expected.
Guardian Angel then carries on the same mission but it really gets into the mission in depth. There's a lot more action and thrills in this books which make it an excellent second book. Hopefully the trilogy will end as great as it began, but we'll have to wait and see!
This book is an excellent read and I would definitely recommend it to teenager, boys and girls. It's action packed and really exciting. The reader is always engaged with the plot. There really is never a dull moment. I think these books are great because they suit a wide range of ages, they are extremely well written and even though the premise of the story is that there is a secret agency of children spies, I think the story is quite realistic. There are no fictional monsters or magic and the story involves real global problems like drug trafficking or it even touches very subtly on the sex trafficking too. I think they are just really great books and I insist you go out and read them no matter what age you are!

I thought the book Guardian Angel by Robert Muchamore was very gripping from start to finish. The storyline left me hanging each time I stopped reading. I really liked the actions and emotions shown through each character I liked the romance and fights that go in throughout the book.My favourite character would probably be Ryan because he is involved in a lot throughout the book like his love life between grace and his friendship between Ethan.i chose to read this book because in my opinion I like action and drama and lots of little side tracks that make you wonder what is going to happen next. My favourite quote would be" adults never suspect that children are spying on them" I like this because it is unusual that children would spy on adults and normally adults are the ones that do all the spying. I learned more thoroughly that you have to treat people the way you wanted to be treated, I said this because in the book one of the characters are locked up in a cage for a longtime with only little light and barely any food and nowhere to sleep. Overall I thought that this book was hooking from start to finish and I would like to read more of the series

I really, really like Robert Muchamore. And I really like the Cherub series. And I really like the Henderson's Boys series.
I Am A Fan Of Robert Muchamore. I love how he writes so swiftly and surely and never quite forgets to keep the reader hooked. These are competent stylishly written books and they are GOOD.
So you may gather that I was pretty excited to receive a copy of this from the publisher. Guardian Angel is part of the second wave of Cherub books. The first series focused on James and Lauren Adams and their gang of fellow Cherub agents. The books were fairly self-contained but had recurring characters in them. You could read one, miss one and quite happily pick up the one after that without missing too much. (But you went back, you always went back, you grabbed the one you missed, because you knew you missed something good for such is the way of the Muchamore).
The second wave of Cherub books is a little different. It still focuses on a recurring cast of agents but this time Ryan Sharma and his friend Fu Ning are our central focus. It's Cherub : The Next Generation if you will. This series of books, kicking off with People's Republic, all sort of focus on the same mission.
Russia.
Krygyzstan to be precise. The home of the Amarov Clan, criminal masterminds, and now, following the events of People's Republic, (potential spoiler alert) the home of Ethan Kitsell.
And things don't look good for Ethan right now.
Guardian Angel is the second book in a series more closely connected than the original Cherubs. Inevitably you naturally need a little bit of exposition in order to get you up to speed. This is well handled and, to be frank, made me just want to go read the first.
What I love about Muchamore is how he pairs awful violence (he makes no bones about the fact that there are people in this world who are hideous beings) with some very beautiful moments. There's a point, and it's quite close to the end, when we discover who the eponymous Guardian Angel is and it's lovely. I got quite emotional over it.
This book is fast, hard and punchy (both literally and metaphorically). If you've not discovered the Cherub series, you're in for a treat. Guardian Angel provides both the nail-biting and the funny, all in equal spades.
I think I'm hooked. Again.

i choose to read guardian angel by Robert Muchamore because i have read all of his other books in the cherub series and i wanted to finish of the series so i read this one . when i found this book in the library it had a attractive cover that looked like the kind of book i want to read .
this novel fits into a book written in 2012 or 2013 because it was written in 2012 on the bingo board.
this book kept me hooked through out the whole time reading from the minute i read the first page to the minute i read the last word.
my favourite moment in the book in the book was when ryan saved ethans life after he got hit by the car by giving him cpr this was my favourite moment because it made me think will he suprised and made me want to keep reading.this also links into my favourite quote when ethan said to ryan you mus be my guardian angel hense the book being called "guardian angel".
this book made me think about if i needed to learn cpr just in case someone needed it.
I rate this book a four out of five and I would definitely recommend this to everyone that has a taste for action and i would also highly recommend this to anyone who has read the series and hasn't got around to reading this book.

I really liked this one, exciting from start to finish. A nice change to continue a single mission across multiple books. It adds more depth than the last series.

This was a pretty good book. Not the best book from Robert Muchamore, but definitely not the worst. It got a little slow in parts, but the action is fantastic and the whole book is thrilling. This a very tough book to put down. The reader of this book will think that they can stop at the end of a chapter, but each chapter ends with a cliffhanger, making it virtually impossible to stop at the end of a chapter. An interesting part of this book, as an American, is the spellings of some words are different. For example, favorite is spelled favourite, as well as other words.
This is definitely a book directed towards teenagers. There is a lot of immature behaviour, as well as some swearing. There is some relationship drama, enough that it can be found as comical or interesting, and a break from the action, but there is not too much to the point where it gets slow and boring. A quote from the book that shows this is, “Ryan looked into her eyes. Grace either wanted a kiss, or she was making it look like she wanted to kiss as part of some evil plan to knee him in the balls or gouge out an eyeball. but although Ryan was angry, Grace had the cutest expression and her body looked really fit. Theo[Ryan’s younger brother] stood in the open doorway watching the action and covered his eyes as Ryan kissed Grace on the lips. (320)” This shows the comedic side of this book in that Theo, being the little kid he is, thinks kissing is gross. But it also shows the teenager side of things, with Grace having the cutest expression, and just the immaturity that Ryan suspects that Grace is going to attack him.
All in all, this is a very good book. I loved it, and I would suggest it to anyone that likes action books. The actual spying is more realistic than a James Bond book, where there is a lot more action. Although, because of that, it does get slow, it feels more real which makes it more believable that this could actually happen. In recap, I would suggest this book to any teenager that likes action books.

In all due respect: Robert Muchamore's a good author. His CHERUB books are brill. However, since he started the second series of CHERUB, I'm not feeling it. With Guardian Angel being the 2nd book of the Aramov, I think it's enough. It's always great when the mission ends and you move on to a new mission briefing. But ever since People's Republic he's been dwelling on Ethan. I mean: fair enough, it continues to Guardian Angel. But the fact that it's going to go on to Black Friday is just making me want to stop CHERUB. I also feel he's making the characters too much like series 1. Y'know ? Like James's friends. And Grace and Ryan symbolizes Kerry and James. (My opinion). Why not throw in a surprise and put Ryan and Ning together. I also miss James. Maybe he should come back and get married to Kerry or something. I mean: he's eliminated everyone except for the instructors and Amy. We used to hear about Lauren but not anymore. I don't know what happened to her future. Did she stay with Rat ? Where's Jake ? Surely he's old enough to still be at CHERUB. Kevin Sumner ? Andy ? You there, mate ? So, for now: it's 3 stars.

Ah, Robert Muchamore, you've done it again. I love how there's something about any series he writes that makes me want to keep reading. It might be the promise of things to come or the hinting at bigger things happening but whatever it is, it makes any of his books hard to put down. I especially like the way his characters act their age because it just makes it easier to remember that they're kids. I always look forward to reading these books, they're just that good.

This was quite good! I didn't enjoy it quite as much as the first in the series, but there was good action at the end. Still a very entertaining book, which I'd recommend to anyone who likes Muchamore's other books.

I had been waiting to read this book since I read the first one about a year ago and it definitely didn't disappoint.
Guardian Angel is as interesting, well written and compelling as People's Republic. I read it in one sitting.

I enjoyed reading Guardian Angel, as it was a very exciting book with lots of twists and turns in the plot throughout the whole story even until the last chapters. I have read all of the other CHERUB stories up until this book and am currently reading the next book in the series Black Friday I really enjoy Robert Muchamore’s writing style although it can get a bit repetitive with the numerous organizations that the CHERUB agents need to eliminate, but in an exciting series such as this it doesn’t matter to me. The main characters in Guardian Angel are Ryan Sharma, Amy Collins, Instructor Kazakov and Ted Brasker. Kazakov is playing the role of Ryan’s dad and Amy is playing the role of Ryan’s sister. Ted is the mission controller for this mission. The setting of the story changes from Kyrgyzstan to Africa which both have their certain way that they help the story play out. I would recommend this book to a more adult reader due to adult themes and language or to someone who has read earlier books in this series.

This book was really good as it had lots of action. This book was quite interesting a s it has a good backstory following on from the last one. The book was interesting as it has lots of guns and violence, the book tells you a story about Ethan and how they control him and make him do things to help Ryan and Ning. The story takes a turn when Ethan gets kidknapped by his uncle and make to live in a cave in South Africa. Ethan faces many more challenges and I would definitely recommend this book to readers 12 and older.

The book is very good if you like thrillers and action. It is about Ryan as in the first book of the second cherub series. The plot focuses around Ethan whos father Leonid runs the Aramov Clan. The CIA's TFU department work on ways to bust the drug smuggling gang. I would recommend the book if you liked other spy/detective/crime books.

Druhý díl série CHERUB II, respektive série Aramov se nese ve znamení pokračování snahy CIA zatočit s gangem šmelinářů a pašeráků v jehož čele se nachází Irena Aramov. Zatímco si Ning užívá všech strastí základního výcviku, Ethan trpí v Kyrgyzstánu u strýčka Leonida a jediné co ho drží nad vodou je jeho kamarádka Natalka a komunikace s jeho andělem strážným - Ryanem Braskerem. To, že Ryan Brasker je ve skutečnosti Ryan Sharma, tajný agent, který s ním manipuluje a snaží se zjistit drahocenné informace z vnitřku gangu jeho babičky a strýce, to samozřejmě Ethan neví a bez obav se Ryanovi svěřuje. Tím je roztočen kolotoč událostí, který zahrnuje první velkou misi pro Ning. To by však nebyl Leonid Aramov, aby nechal svou matku řídit Ethanův život. Irena poslala Ethana do internátní školy v Dubaji, ale bohužel nemůže ovlivnit to, jestli tam dorazí, nebo ne...
Na čtení jsem měla vždy jen chvilku času, tak jsem přečetla vždy jen pár stránek, což u CHERUBu nikdy není snadné. Do této knihy se musíte prostě začíst! Nasednout na tuto skvělou horskou dráhu a nevystupovat, dokud neprojedete všemi zákruty a částmi, kde letíte hlavou dolů. Začíst se mi povedlo včera večer, kdy jsem byla někde v půlce a během noci jsem dočetla druhou půlku. To byla jízda panečku :)
Sledujeme příběh Ethana, který to opravdu nemá se strýčkem a jeho gorilami, co si říkají jeho synové, nejlehčí. Když přijde vysvobození v podobě internátní školy, jeho úleva ani tak netrvá dlouho.
Ning zrovna dokončila základní výcvik a přesto už je poslána na velkou misi a vede si...no posuďte sami :)
Ryan pak musí odolávat výčitkám svědomí z manipulace s chlapcem, jehož si opravdu oblíbil.
Všechny postavy už známe z minulého dílu, takže nejsou žádným velkým překvapením a stále mě baví. Grace s Ryanem mi hodně připomínají Kerry s Jamesem. Jejich vztah, kdy nevíte, jestli se za minutu budou muchlovat nebo si navzájem nakopou zadek :D
Po pořádném ponoření se do děje se mi kniha četla skvěle jako vždycky a doporučuji ji všem, i starším čtenářům, kteří třeba váhají, zda se pustit do anglicky psané knihy, protože angličtina tu není tak složitá a děj je tak zábavný, že ani nebudete vědět jak, ale přečtete 300 stránkovou knihu za dva večery :)

Začíst se mi povedlo včera večer, kdy jsem byla někde v půlce a během noci jsem dočetla druhou půlku. To byla jízda panečku :)
Sledujeme příběh Ethana, který to opravdu nemá se strýčkem a jeho gorilami, co si říkají jeho synové, nejlehčí. Když přijde vysvobození v podobě internátní školy, jeho úleva ani tak netrvá dlouho.
Ning zrovna dokončila základní výcvik a přesto už je poslána na velkou misi a vede si...no posuďte sami :)
Ryan pak musí odolávat výčitkám svědomí z manipulace s chlapcem, jehož si opravdu oblíbil.
Všechny postavy už známe z minulého dílu, takže nejsou žádným velkým překvapením a stále mě baví. Grace s Ryanem mi hodně připomínají Kerry s Jamesem. Jejich vztah, kdy nevíte, jestli se za minutu budou muchlovat nebo si navzájem nakopou zadek :D
Po pořádném ponoření se do děje se mi kniha četla skvěle jako vždycky a doporučuji ji všem, i starším čtenářům, kteří třeba váhají, zda se pustit do anglicky psané knihy, protože angličtina tu není tak složitá a děj je tak zábavný, že ani nebudete vědět jak, ale přečtete 300 stránkovou knihu za dva večery :)

Ryan is a member of a top secret British government agency called CHERUB. He is a spy. He is also only 14. The book takes place in England where the CHERUB headquarters is located, but he also travels around Africa with his friends on a mission. The CHERUB headquarters is full of spy training gear. There is a dojo for martial arts(a gift from the Japanese after CHERUB helped them on a mission), a training field, a paintball course, dorms for all the agents, and a state-of-the-art mission control room. In this book Ryan must finish the mission he started in the last book by finding Ethan Aramov who has been kidnapped by his relatives who want to take over the family business. Their family is a major crime organization. Ethan could get CHERUB information about the Aramov clan which is why CHERUB wants to get him back and protect him.
I would recommend this book to any reader who enjoys clever action books. One part that would entice action lovers is when Ethan escapes the cell and gets chased by his kidnappers. Furthermore, the characters were empathetic in this novel, especially Ryan. One time I felt like I could relate to Ryan was when he was stuck on an airplane and had nothing to do but to fool around on his half-broken phone. I have experienced this on planes many times, so reading this made the characters feel more life-like to me.
I liked this book; however, I wish they had changed a few things. I wish that Mr. Muchamore had changed the format from the first CHERUB series. If he had done this the book wouldn't have felt so repetitive. I also wish that the book had followed a new storyline rather than continue the old mission from the previous book. That way the story could feel more fresh. Although continuing the mission was different from the previous books I hope that he does not continue the series in this fashion. However I still like the book and the series and look forward to the next book.

If you like action packed books where you can’t help but read to the very end. This is the book for you, this book takes place in a small agency called “Cherub”. This is a special organization that goes on missions against terrorist groups, drug groups and gangs. But these agents aren’t normal, these are children. Since terrorists wouldn’t expect a child was spying on them they have the advantage.
Ryan, is the main character in this book, his friend Ethan is not aware of CHERUB and he is convinced that Ryan is his guardian angel read the books and find out why. This book brings excitement to a whole new level, it is action packed. So if you ever read the original CHERUB series, you should read this too. I love this series because you find out so much about Ethan’s prior life, and Ryans life. The whole thing just keeps you hanging on the edge of your seat, wondering what will happen next. But these are just a few reasons why I love this series and especially this book.

Guardian Angel, written by English author Robert Muchamore is an action-packed story which zooms into California to find the story of Ethan. Ryan has saved Ethan’s life more than once, but Ethan lost this mother in the first encounter. Ever since the accident Ethan was sent to live with his grandmother in Central Asian Republic of Kyrgyzstan, where she runs a billion-dollar criminal empire. Though Ethan was sent away, he still keeps in touch with his “Guardian Angel” Ryan, but what Ethan doesn’t know is that Ryan is a CHERUB agent. CHERUB is a secret British organization that uses children to spy on criminals, as even experienced criminals never suspect a child to be spying on them.
I personally enjoyed this book and the way Robert Muchamore writes. He takes a serious topic as portrayed in the book and manages to writes it in a less way creating humour, a talent which not a lot of authors have. I believe this book is perfect for middle school for its explosive story line. Also, if you enjoy this book, you should look out for the other CHERUB books and the new series being released this year.

Guardian Angel is book two of a sub series of Robert Muchamore's Cherub. In the first book Ryan Sharma, a twelve year old new recruit, is sent on a mission. His mission is to befriend Ethan Amarov, the grandson of the head of a million dollar criminal organisation. After getting Ethan in and out of trouble, Ryan finally befriends him, until Ethan's world is turned upside down. His mother is assassinated and his grandmother kidnaps him to Kyrgyzstan. In this book Ethan's grandmother has finally agreed to let him travel to Dubai to attend a international school. However, his grandmother does not know that Ryan is about to destroy the organisation and something is going to happen to Ethan. What will happen?
This book is filled with many tense action scenes and a lot of scenes were quick thinking is needed, thats why i enjoy reading this book. In my opinion this book wasn't as enjoyable as the first, as there was a lot of telling the reader what happens, instead of showing. I would recommend this book to teenage boys who like action stories, like Alex Rider and the Young James Bond series. I give it 7.5/10.

Great book. I got it at Christmas and read it within a few weeks. I like this genre of books as the are very exciting and they make me want to keep reading. I also have read the rest of this series.
The reason why i like this book is because of the way the author makes you think about serious conditions. For example; One character - Ethan - has been kidnapped and put in a barn. The way he escapes the barn is thrilling and makes you want to keep reading to see if he manages to escape the barn. Also, the authors way of portraying characters is excellent because he give you every detail about them which makes the readers visualize the character in the story easier and the reader can know what is going on with that character.
So this is a very good book. I give it 4/5 stars

This book was one of the best books I've ever read. it showed the feelings of the people in the book really well and had a lot of interesting real world situations that I have heard about. For example, illegal immigrants and drug trafficking. I can also relate to this book because my grandparents were illegal immigrants and so were many of the characters in the book such as Ning and Ingrid. Robert Muchamore was very good at describing the emotions of the characters and I there were times in the book when I felt like I was actually in the situation of Ryan (the main character). This book has given me more of an understanding of many issues that we face around the world. I recommend this book to mature kids over twelve.

Defiently not one of my favorites in this series, but still a good book, I would place it in the middle of his other books. However it is defiently worth the read, especially if you have read the previous books and plan on continuing to read the rest of the series. It isnt something that you feel you have to slog through, but isnt a grand final either. It is instead an intergral part in the character advancment as Muchamore continues to expand this series, and this character. He embodies the charm and whit that Muchamore so perfectly manages to capture, and display artfully through a true representation of what a teenager or child is like.

Guardian Angel was a good continuation of Muchamore’s second Cherub series, but it did not have the level of excitement that other Cherub books have. The story was still interesting, but it didn't have that factor, I’m not exactly sure what, that makes some of the Cherub books amazing. The book did finish in a great way to set up for a continuation of the series. Being the second book in the series, you already knows most of the characters, but this story continues the growth of the character and let’s you get to know them better.

I like this book because it adds more excitement into the Cherub series. In the book I had lots of question but the question that puzzles me the most is why does the author get Ryan and grace together if Ryan stills her poster. I thought of this question because the author gets them together but then he does something that could harm there relationship so I don't know why someone would do that. In the book I had a lot of visualising of when Ryan was getting beaten up because in my life I got bullied and it reminded me of that moment in my life.

This book is about 14 year old Ryan. He has contacts in side the criminal organisation the Aramov clan, who has dangerous business all over the world. Ethan is the grand son of head of the clan called Irena Aramov. She sends Ethan on boarding school but his uncle hijacks his plane and sends him to Africa. Here Ethan is nearly killed. He gets rescued by some relatives and flown to Dubai. Here Ethan tries to get the money that his uncle stole from his grandma. Except the CIA also want the money from the clans drug business.

I think this book is good like its predecessor. This book is a follow on to peoples republic. I like the way the author writes his books as the have a good pace and they explain a lot of things with out slowing the book down or making it boring. The story ends with the CIA given control of the clan and Ethan and the rest of his immediate family moving to America. I also feel that this book is one of those books that you can read many times without getting bored.
