From USA Today Bestselling Author K Webster comes a post-apocalyptic, ruined-Earth survival thriller featuring LGBTQ+ heroes who must ban together, despite their differences, to not only adapt to the new, destroyed world, but find safety in it. A cataclysmic, city-destroying tsunami crashes its way through San Francisco and it’s not looking to recede anytime soon… Relentless waves and terrifying rises of flood waters. People stranded in the tops of the highest buildings. No hope for rescue. Ever.
Kellen Bennett has lived his entire life in deep-seeded fear. But, in the face of human extinction, he can finally become the man he always wanted to be. Brave.
Being the CEO of his company, Kellen feels responsible for those who are stranded in his building and is willing to do whatever it takes to look after them until help arrives.
Tyler Walsh, a food deliveryman, finds himself stranded with an arrogant businessman and a floor full of scared people. He doesn’t want to wait to be rescued. His family is out there somewhere, and he’ll swim across the entire Pacific Ocean if that means getting to them.
He may only be eighteen, but Tyler has more street smarts than all the survivors he’s stuck with combined, which means he can’t leave them to their own devices, or they’ll all die.
With unmanned ships crashing into buildings, strange weather outbursts at every turn, and people losing their minds to fear of the unknown, Kellen and Tyler must team up to devise a plan to rescue themselves and those around them.
But Earth is furious, throwing a tantrum of epic proportions. As the weather events multiply and increase in violent nature, they realize time is quickly running out.
They have to get off the building and onto dry land before their only source of protection crumbles into the wicked, monstrous sea.
If there’s any land left standing that is…

'W𝐀V𝐄S O𝐅 𝐅U𝐑Y' Is a full length post-apocalyptic thriller book by author K. Webster.. Kellen Bennett & Tyler Walsh.
Once I saw the sign-up for this one doing the rounds, I had to sign up..I haven't read a K. webster book in a while and was so excited to jump into this..
As soon as this landed on my ipad, I started it straight away and from that point onwards I couldn't put it down, this slow burn got its hooks into me, I enjoyed the endless twists and turns thrown my way, and loved this new world this author had created, parts were dark and gritty, which I lapped up in record speeds, and I loved every minute of it.
🌪 Weather apocalypse 🌪 Age gap 🌪 Forced proximity 🌪 Found family 🌪 Grief and loss 🌪 Finding love at the end of the world
Tyler had a funny feeling that morning when the world changed but carried on with his work day like any other, as he's delivering food to Kellen he becomes stranded within the sky rise building along with Kellen and his co workers when a massive Tsunami takes out the whole of San Francisco. Now this group of individuals must band together to escape this building that could collapse at any moment with the rising flood water, and throw in the lack of food has all of them jumping into survival mode.
As Kellen and Tyler lean on each other and become close as though they have known each other for years as they seek sanctuary they fall in love.
These characters were an unlikely crew of misfits who fast became like a family as they struggled throughout every obstacle this damaged world threw at them, from a rogue shark to sinkholes and much much more as these weary travelers tried to find a safe haven to lay their weary bones down, survival was their constant battle as they struggled with rogue men at every turn.
Genre: Dystopian Romance Type: Standalone book in Surviving Earth Chronicles POV: First Pers0n - Dual Rating: 4.25 stars
Tyler Walsh thought it was just another routine day delivering food. But when he arrived at Kellen Bennett’s office, a catastrophic event wiped out the city. With only a handful of survivors, they had to find a way to save themselves before nature itself claimed them.
This book delivers nonstop action from the very first page to the last. I was drawn into the treacherous world and exciting storyline. However, at times it felt too fast, there wasn't enough time for readers to absorb the impact.
Kellen had internal struggles and I liked seeing how he faced them. Tyler was my favorite with his strength and heart. The supporting characters were equally compelling, making me invested in them as much as the main characters.
Waves of Fury is a story of survival and adaptability. It would appeal to readers who enjoy MM thriller romance set in a post-apocalyptic world.

Opinion Breakdown The Good: Premise, the characters, and the different take on the apocalypse.
The Not-So-Good: The lack of romance and romantic connection.
The Bad: The ending, while they're safe, I had way too many unanswered questions.
Overall:This was alright. I was kind of excited for the mm aspect of this post apocalyptic romance! I don't think I've seen another one like it, but I might be wrong (and I'd love recommendations if you have them!). I was disappointed in the lack of connection romantically between the mcs. I don't need a bunch of steam to enjoy a book, but I do need a good connecting if the steam is lacking, which in this book I felt was the case. Which was a little odd since I don't usually have this issue with K Webster. I also wanted much more closure in the end. I understand that this is part of a multi-author type series, Surviving Earth Chronicles, but at least some type of understanding as to what's actually going on would've been nice.
Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Kellan and Tyler's story. Kellan is a food delivery man and he is set to deliver financial guru, Kellan's lunch when the world goes crazy and a tsunami hit the high rise office building they're in in San Francisco. There is a lot of other crazy weather events happening and they, along with a mismatched group of people, end up trying to survive together. There are some suspenseful scenes, some sad moments, and some mild romance...and they get a HFN ending.
Point Of View (POV): This alternated between Kellan and Tyler's POV.
Overall Pace of Story: Good. I never skimmed and I thought it flowed well.
Instalove: I say no initially, but it kind of is since there isn't much development.
H1 (Hero #1) rating: 3.5 stars. Kellan. He struggled at times with guilt, which I understood, but I also wanted him to cope better.
H2 (Hero #2) rating: 4 stars. Tyler. I liked him. I liked how he always tried to do the right thing and help others.
Sadness level: Low/moderate, no tissues needed but there are some sad scenes.
Push/Pull: Yes
Heat level: Mild. They have some mild tension and chemistry -- but not so much it takes away from the story.
Descriptive sex: Kind of, not super descriptive
OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) drama: No
Sex scene with OW or OM: No
Cheating: No
Separation: No
Possible Triggers: Yes
Closure: This ends in a pretty secure place for what I would call a HFN ending, but it wasn't nearly enough closure to call it a HEA for me
Safety: This one should be Safe for most safety gang readers
I don’t think these two could’ve been more different and I love that!!
The build up, the world building is phenomenal. Something I wasn’t expecting from Kristi only because I hadn’t read this type of book from her before. I’m freaking here for this genre from her now!
I’m kinda surprised that Tyler took charge and everyone… well everyone but the a-hole listened.
When things heated up between Kell & Ty it felt natural, even under duress I believed the heat brewing. I really enjoyed the pacing of both the steam and the storyline in general.
In K Webster fashion we got some terrible people/villains that we love to hate.
Overall a superb MM thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat and desperately needing to know what happened next until the end.
This is a romance apocalyptic plot but… while I I loved the natural disaster action, I needed some sprinkles of actual science thrown in somewhere and romance!
Some science could’ve made sense of what was causing each region to experience those particular effects instead of just throwing in anything the author thought would be a cool disaster.
Also, did the shift in the moon affect some people’s minds? Because I didn’t get why every man turned into a rapist inbred. It was so cliche and ridiculous.
At this point I realized that we were just going to put these characters through the wringer for no other reason other than plot continuation. I wasn’t sad or shocked when someone died because duh, the plot must go on and the core 4 are going to make it till the end so who cares. I just kept reading to see what new ridiculous thing was going to happen.
I also didn’t read any romance in the plot. A teenager and an old man have sex off page. I wish the author didn’t make it such a huge age difference or at least stop emphasizing it every two minutes. These two had nothing in common other than being gay and available.
I wish the book had more conflict within the group instead of only natural disasters to contend with. This lot blindly followed whoever threw a suggestion out there and agreed too quickly on everything. As much as I hate bickering, the group needed some of it to give all the characters dimension.
The most positive thing about this book is the reference to body odor! Finally, an author that points out that not showering for days makes people stinky!! No one wants to make out and fool around after days of not brushing your teeth and having swampy butt. Yuck!

2.5 Stars rounded up for an exciting beginning. The disaster scenes were super fun. Very exciting in a “they’re all gonna die” type of way. I love apocalyptic survival books. I love authors who aren’t scared to kill off any character including kids in apocalyptic books. I enjoyed the end of the world part of the story. The author did a good job of describing dirty bodies, etc.
The romance was severely lacking. The age gap was honestly disgusting and had this not been a rare apocalyptic MM romance I would’ve skipped it. I hated it especially because attention was brought to it all the time. Like I’m sorry but I am 37 (younger than the older MC!!!) and an 18 year old is a child to me. It was made worse by the fact that the MCs had zero chemistry and barely knew each other. They didn’t even put in effort to get to know each other. The few intimate scenes were jarringly fade to black.
The way women were treated in this book is why I’d shoot myself in an apocalypse but even that seemed like overkill. I am also very done with abusive-parent-apologists.
I was dying to start this, something a bit different to my usual reads and I absolutely loved it. Think 'The Day After Tomorrow' meets Deep Impact but in a more recent time. A tsunami destroys San Francisco in a matter of seconds and those that survived it try and survive as best they can.
Kellan was in his high rise office, Tyler the delivery driver taking him his lunch when it hit and they, and those around them, try their best to get to safety.
Packed full of action, endless plot twists and turns and you honestly don't know what mother nature will throw at them next.
There is a romance in this between Kellan and Tyler but, if you're looking for steamy scenes then you won't get more than a suggestion. Don't get me wrong, I did miss the spice from this (everything happens off page) but the story was so gripping I honestly didn't mind that it wasn't in it.
Definitely checking out the other book in this series.
I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review
Intense Scary as frack Edge-of-your-seat suspense Page after Page of "holy shitzu" and "OMFG" moments I jest you not I was constantly yelping, gasping, swearing, and even fell an occasional silent tear We faced the lowest of the low in our trek for survival We met others like us who only wanted to be safe We became a family, who, together would fight to survive And amidst all the destruction and loss... We found hope (I say we because I was there, I truly felt a part of our group of survivors)
From the beginning to the end Waves of Fury kept me engaged It was a bit frightening how relatable the storyline and the characters were. It is such a magnificently crafted story with vivid characters and believable events and responses And let's talk about Tyler and Kellen Their bond was crafted under duress, but the way it developed, was practically perfect. The little things that occurred between them, the hand touching, the smiles, the little " I got you's" just made it that much more genuine I appreciated how Tyler took the lead, and despite the age difference Kellen was man enough to let him. It was easy to forget the class and age difference between them
This was a dual POV. Some scenes might be triggers; it is an end-of-the-world event, and we all know how dangerous our species can be. Again I can not rant enough about the cast, the events, the overall story Highly recommend
K Webster is one of my favorite authors, so I immediately signed up for this book. I loved how fast-paced and intense this story was. K Webster's writing always sucks me into the story, and I couldn't put it down. This is a wild ride, and I was so invested in the heroes, along with the motley crew of survivors. This is one of my favorite post-apocalyptic romances, and it had me on the edge of my seat.
The world has been slowly coming to an end after an asteroid hit the moon, which knocked it off its axis. Now, multiple intense natural disasters are bringing destruction and death all over the world at the same time. Kellen is the CEO of his company and impatiently dealing with his late lunch with the food deliveryman when a huge tsunami hits San Francisco. Luckily, they are able to survive the devastating flood and destruction in the skyrise building, but most of the building is under water, they have limited supplies, and the building could go down at any time. This small group must come together to try to find a way out of the flooded city and travel across the country to find a safe place. They will have to deal with extreme weather conditions, low supplies, and dangerous people along the way.
Kellen and Tyler come from two completely different worlds and would probably never be together in the normal world. However, the extreme conditions and fight for survival force them together, and they end up being the perfect match. They form such a strong bond, and this group of strangers becomes a tight family unit. I loved the connection between Kellen and Tyler, and they felt like they truly belonged together, even though there was a big age gap. Tyler was much younger than Kellen, but I barely noticed how strong and dependable he was. I loved their chemistry, and I was shocked this didn't have K Webster's usual brand of high steam, but it didn't need it with the high stakes post-apocalyptic world they were in.
K Webster is such a masterful storyteller, and I was captivated through this entire book. She managed to make relatable characters that felt so real. It was a thrilling and emotional book that showed some of the best parts of the human spirit, along with the most depraved part of human nature. This group goes through hell, but they all come together in a beautiful way.
This is a standalone in the Surviving Earth Chronicles, but it is tied to Lindsey Pogue’s book Skies of Fire. They can be read in any order, but I recommend reading Lindsey’s book first about Kellen’s brother.
"Tyler stirs something deep inside me. His youthful face is hardened with stories I'm curious to know about."
Waves of Fury by one of my fave NA authors K. Webster, is a post-apocalyptic adventure set in a tsunami-flooded city in the Pacific Northwest. It's a stand-alone, but with with links to Skies of Fire, another Surviving Earth Chronicles installment by Lindsey Pogue. This is Kellen and Tyler's story.
What To Expect:
❥ Post-apocalyptic angst ❥ MM romantic elements (fade-to-black) ❥ Dual POV ❥ Age gap ❥ Forced proximity ❥ Dark themes ❥ HEA
I enjoyed this one - very different from the other books I've read by the author - but with lots happening and very much a rollercoaster ride. I'll definitely be reading Knox and Ava's story in Skies of Fire next!
(4.7 Stars) After an apocalyptic flood, delivery boy Tyler is stuck inside a high rise building with Kellen Bennett and others. Kellen has been listening to word of “the big one” coming forever but never actually expected the weather report to come true on one fateful day. Now stuck in his office building with coworkers and this delivery guy can they ban together to find a way to all survive? This is an action packed apocalyptic story of two strangers coming together in the face of the disaster and finding a way to live. Not only is there intense action throughout, there’s also a MM love story of leaning on the one you need the most. Told in first person and dual POV.
This book is very good! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! If natural disaster apocalypse, MM romance, and found family are your jam, you should definitely read this. Just…ignore the PNW reference in the blurb, because it’s not anywhere near that region. At all.
I’ve never seen something like this from K. Webster so…I’m scared 😳 I think this will be a make or break moment. Will she succeed? Or will she crash with all the other apocalyptic wannabes?
Waves of Fury by K. Webster is an excellent post-apocalyptic thriller that is so exciting and intense, I could barely put it down. Even at over 350 pages, I tore through this story, so caught up on the trials and adventures Tyler and Kellen face in this horrifying world of destruction, lawlessness, and relentless attacks from Mother Nature. Before I go too far, part of the intensity for me came from having no idea what would happen to these guys and what struggles they would endure. So I am going to keep this review spoiler free and use spoiler tags when needed. This one is a total thrill ride and I really want you all to be able to enjoy it as much as I did.
This book is part of the Surviving Earth Chronicles, a multi-author set of books that take place on the same day. This one stands alone completely and the books are meant to be read in any order.
I love a post-apocalyptic thriller and this one is just so good. It is intense, exciting, and properly horrifying. Kellen and Tyler go on such an incredible journey to find safety and hope for a future, and I loved being along for the ride.
There’s an audiobook version that is on Goodreads but is not listed here as a version. I saw that no one else is shown to have listened to it. I’m doing my rating because I don’t want to do it twice. The review will be the same.
4 stars performance, 2 stars story
The premise is problematic. Why did Mother Nature go insane? We have no idea. It’s convenient that important people showed up exactly when needed. The age gap between two characters would be an issue under normal circumstances but no one is a minor and the end of the world came make you see people in a different light.
The pluses are the survival was hard. No one was friendly and lots of allies die along the way. One of them was so shocking that I still feel it. It’s quite frankly horrifying and one of the things that illustrates how devastating the disaster is.
I don’t know how I feel about this book. It’s got three stars because it the performance but it’s hard to move past anything remotely like an explanation for what has happened or the convenience of who showed up and when. I suppose on balance there were enough emotional hits that it’s worth the listen/read.
A massive Tsunami takes out San Francisco leaving Kellen along with Tyler, the food delivery guy and a few of Kellen’s co-workers stranded at the top of a high rise building surrounded by water. From here the action doesn’t stop and no one, and I really mean no one is safe in this post apocalyptic adventure. Despite the struggle for survival an intense romance forms between Kellen and Tyler.
Waves of Fury consumed me as I became so invested in this group’s struggle to survive minute by minute. And while surviving a tsunami might seem like their biggest concern, they quickly learn that people might be the thing they fear the most. Five Stars. This is a must read book!
This is a stand-alone in the Surviving Earth Chronicles. Make sure to read Kellen’s brother’s story in Skies of Fire by Lindsey Pogue.
I’ve been so excited for this book/duology, and the fast-paced story didn’t let me down. After an asteroid knocked the moon off its axis, altering its path/rotation, Earth has been experiencing some phenomenon that are abnormal. Everything has now come to a head, with sinkholes, tsunamis, tornados, volcanoes, and catastrophic earthquakes all hitting at the same time, resulting in widespread destruction and death. If people aren’t dying as a result of the ‘natural’ phenomena, then many are victims of the lack of humanity as these events bring out the worst in mankind. I enjoyed how we had a brief moment to meet our MMCs Tyler and Kellen before everything hit the fan. Tyler is a food delivery worker, and it’s only by luck and fate that he’s trapped in an elevator and delayed, saving his life from the initial tsunami. Kellen runs a successful company, and being on the highest floor may be the only thing that saved him and a few of his employees. Finding a way out of the mess he’s in with the man he was berating for delivering his food late wasn’t on his bingo card. The way the group works together through injury, tragedy, scarcity, danger, and other terrible situations is admirable. They form a family, relying on one another and protecting each other. Kellen and Tyler are an unlikely pair if fate hadn’t intervened. The age gap is one obstacle, their lifestyles another, but they are a fantastic fit, which is quickly apparent as their proximity allows them to reveal themselves to each other. I appreciated Kellen’s sense of responsibility for the group and Tyler’s ‘get it done’ work ethic and willingness to be the medic of the group. The romance aspect sometimes took a backseat to the drama that was happening as you would expect in this type of situation. I found that part entirely realistic, as well as the way they’re portrayed physically during these times. I enjoyed the ending and need to read Lindsey Pogue’s book, Skies of Fire still, but I would still read more books set in this world including ones about the “good” survivor communitie(s) they encountered.
Waves Of Fury (Surviving Earth Chronicles) by K. Webster is a post-apocalyptic survival thriller. Set in a tsunami- flooded San Francisco, it is a story full of action and danger, death and destruction but also emotion and love, all while the world changes. It’s an opposites attract, age-gap MM romance between Kellan Bennett and Tyler Walsh, two people who start out of strangers and finish as lovers. A captivating story with lots of twists and turns as they find themselves caught up in the apocalypse and fighting to survive.
Kellan is the CEO of his company and waiting for his lunch, when the tsunami hits. With some fellow colleagues, he find himself trapped in his sky scraper office. He feels responsible for them so has to be brave and work out how to help everyone. Tyler is caught up in the disaster while delivering food to Kellan. He’d love nothing more than to leave and try to find his family but he quickly realises the others are scared and might die if he doesn’t help.
Their connection and chemistry is electric even if their first meeting wasn't good as Kellan was cross Tyler was late with his lunch. While this pair join forces to make sure everyone survives, the attraction burns between them and they slowly fall in love. I really felt for Tyler as his backstory was sad but I liked how he showed such strength and determination through everything. I also liked how sweet and caring Kellan was.
Adversity often pulls people together and this certainly is the case for this group of survivors. I loved how they all become a close-knit group fighting but nature isn’t kind to them and the situation worsens. How long will the building stay standing as the water rises? Have they any hope of getting out and finding somewhere safe, that’s if there is anywhere for them to go? I felt totally invested in everyone’s struggles as they try to escape because the weather is not the only thing out to get them.
Waves of Fury is a stand-alone in the Surviving Earth Chronicles with connections to Skies Of Fire by Lindsey Pigue. You can read either first as they take place in the same world and both feature survivors who must work together and adapt to their new circumstances.
This has a gripping storyline and I thoroughly enjoyed the adventure K. Webster takes you on. She really builds up the suspense and I began to wonder who would survive earth’s anger and the trials the group endure. Definitely going to go and read Skies of Fire now about Kellan’s brother.
With a view of the San Francisco Bay from his office, Kellen Bennett’s day work day seemed to be business as usual even though Tyler Walsh delivered his meal later than promised. But when the city is besieged by cataclysmic event, survival becomes perilous.
“I’m rooted in place, watching as this bizarre horror unfolds.”
Narrated in dual POV, Tyler and Kellen seem to be opposites, but their differences balance them. With Kellen’s past, Tyler is comforting and is a real strength, especially given the events they face. This plot started with a wave of action and it is was continuous until the very end. The constant obstacles definitely added tension to the story, but at times, it detracted from the development between Tyler and Kellen. In this world, anything could occur and that feeling of being in a post-apocalyptic world was palpable due to the author’s storytelling.
What a stressful journey for not only the characters but the reader!!! These characters could not seem to catch a break (or at least not many)! This book is The Walking Dead (without the zombies, thankfully) meets The Day After Tomorrow with some LGBT rep and very very mild sexy times.
This book follows Kellan (CEO) and Tyler (food delivery guy). Kellan is twice Tyler's age and such a grump in the beginning. This book is based on the premise of an asteroid that damaged the moon a few decades ago. Due to this, it creates multiple weather anomalies across the globe. We either experience or hear about just about every weather phenomenon in this book (tsunamis, tornadoes, flooding, volcanoes, sinkholes, fires, etc). Our two main characters form a ragtag group of survivors that have to escape the flooded west coast for safer ground. They venture from San Francisco and slowly (VERY SLOWLY) east trying to find safety. Weather is not the only problem they encounter either. They are confronted with the worst of humanity along the way and this book will have your heart pounding in anxiety. Just when you think things won't get worse... they do. I was rooting for this group so hard. This book is about surviving, finding love during tragedy, forming familial bonds with the unexpected, and just trying to carry on when all hope is lost. It's inspiring in a "good for you" type of way. I would have given up during the first natural disaster, personally.
It sounds like different authors are coming together to write in the shared universe. There is another book that doesn't appear to be released or shown anywhere that follows a different set of survivors that we briefly meet in this book. Its called Skies of Fire by Lindsay Pogue. I am glad its not out now because my heart and adrenaline need a break from this world.
Whatever K. Webster writes, I am here for it! She never ceases to amaze and wow me with her unique romances. I loved this book and could not put it down!
Waves of Fury is a post-apocalyptic, MM, dystopian romantic suspense. It is entertaining, action-packed, gripping, violent, twisted, and thrilling; taking you on a wild and twisted ride with emotional highs and lows.
The apocalypse has begun, the world is literally falling apart. Natural disasters are occurring all over the world. An unlikely group of people have banded together after being stuck in an office building. While trying to find food, shelter, and safety, they encounter danger and evil people. Through many tragedies, trials, and tribulations, they become a "found family," and some even find love. But will they and their love survive the waves of fury?
This was such an amazing and captivating read! It was realistic and believable. There is angst, passion, danger, suspense, deceit, betrayal, and violence. It is a story of triumph under the worst of circumstances. The characters were complex but also real and relatable. There were many struggles, both personally and as a group. It was interesting watching these characters adapt, persevere, and grow. They were stronger in the end for what they went through. I loved that they were all supportive of one another. K. Webster is a master at her craft, and one of my favorite authors, and this book only furthers my addiction to her books. This is a must-read!!! This is a standalone with tie-ins to Skies of Fire, another Surviving Earth Chronicles installment written by Lindsey Pogue.
High intensity reading!! I don’t think my heart stopped racing from the moment I picked up this book, because WOW!! Mother nature did not relent on her onslaught of terrifying weather events against the earth.
Kellen and Tyler are two people who, on any normal given day, would hardly notice the other. Kellen works in a high rise and lives in a suit, while Tyler is half his age and delivers Kellen's food, but the day the world has huge cataclysmic events that cause massive destruction and massive loss of life, these two suddenly become everything to one other.
With a rag-tag group of survivors Kellen and Tyler encounter one tragedy after another and no one is safe. My mouth continually dropped wide open with both shock over the destruction and awe over their compassion. However, as much as I kept caring for the survivors, not everyone was going to make it to the end, but who exactly would mother nature have mercy on before they all found sanctuary was the big question.
The spice is low, but helllooooo...it's survival mode from the get-go and I was glad that it was a top priority instead of the spice level. So while their chemistry brews constantly, since they both feel it, I liked how their romance built to the level it did, while the world was continually falling down.
That being said, the entire book is pure high octane reading, but it's also a story that is packed full of compassion. It displays what the human spirit is made of when we are stripped raw and forced to face our fears, our inner strengths and weaknesses. It's a fantastic book!
I loved this thrilling and exhilarating story! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. It was so descriptive and well written that it felt like I was right there going through it myself. You could almost smell the salty air from the ocean and hear the roar of the waves. It was captivating and mesmerizing, all I could think was how much more could these poor people take?! I definitely realized that I probably don't have what it takes to try and live through the apocalypse.
The age gap is a little big for me at first but it wasn't to noticeable once you got into the story because Kellen and Tyler balanced each other out so well. They were so good for each other. My heart really went out to Tyler. He was resilient but so broken from his past. I felt bad for how he was treated and everything he had to endure. Kellen was a good solid character. He was relatable in the ways he handled all the situations they faced. He was sweet to everyone and so caring.
These are the kind of thrilling stories that I love, when your heart is in your throat the whole way through. There is so much action and adventure you just have no idea what is coming next. It was heart pounding and gut wrenching at times and really quite emotional. The whole cast of characters were great and really added another element to the story. This one could be triggering for some so be sure to check those first before you dive in. If you really want to get your pulse pounding and have a book you can't put down then you need to check this one out! I would highly recommend it!!!
Tyler starts his day as normal, sparing with his brothers. Delivering coffee to his brothers nasty girlfriend might actually be the best thing that happens to him. Kellen is cranky, waiting for his lunch to be delivered. The delivery boy is late and Kellen goes off on him. Normal goes out the window, literally. A group of people become trapped in a high rise by a tsunami and must band together to survive the (possible) end of the world.
Tyler and Kellen managed to save each other (more than once) and fell in love along the way. The heat level was fairly low and given the nature of the story it felt appropriate.
I really enjoy apocalyptic stories and this one was a good roller coaster ride. The tsunami, torrential rains, earthquakes, and sinkholes are just few of the trials the group must face. Total destruction, death, brutality, and love and loss are hallmarks of the book. The suspense of surviving hour to hour kept the book moving rapidly while allowing the reader to feel each painful step the group took.
The author created vibrant characters and even the unlikeable ones made quite an impact. The growth each character experienced became paramount to the survival of the group and the death of some kept the realism and integrity of the book intact.
Ultimately the story is an ode to the unbreakable spirit humans have deep inside them. I liked the book very much.

Waves of Fury was a fun but intense read! It really got my heart racing! My anxiety for these characters was off the charts, but in the best way! I was rooting for them so hard and I couldn't put this book down.
Kellan is working in his fancy penthouse office in San Francisco when a giant tsunami hits and takes out the majority of the city. He is stranded with a few other colleagues from work in addition to Tyler, who freelances for a meal delivery app. Kellan and Tyler don’t hit it off at first, but the two become unlikely allies and more (wink wink) as they work together to escape almost every natural disaster known to man and then some. Their banter is pretty fantastic.
Kellan and Tyler don’t have much in common. They are from entirely different generations not to mention their differences in socioeconomic status. However, none of that matters when the world is literally ending. I love how they rallied during each other's times of need. You could feel how much they cared about each other and I was really hoping they would survive and get their hard earned HEA.
As a primarily spicy romance reader, I would have liked to know going in that this book doesn’t have on page spice. I still really enjoyed the story, but that surprised me given the other books I’ve read by this author.
Waves of Fury is the second book in the multi author Surviving Earth Chronicles. Kellan’s brother is featured in the first book of the series, Skies of Fire by Lindsey Pogue.
This book was just amazing. It kept me fully engaged the entire time waiting to read what would happen next. Starting in San Francisco, Kellen Bennett is a successful CEO who owns his own company. He seems to have it all, but he is closeted, rejected by his Texan father, and guilty that he left his young brother in that home. Now, all he wants is a hot sandwich to be delivered for lunch, but it is running late.
Tyler Walsh lives with his two brothers. Their parents were Moonies, who died in a murder/suicide pact, believing that the end of the world was nigh. His older brother petitioned the courts to have guardianship of his two minor brothers and now the three are close. Tyler goes out on his food delivery job, while he brothers set out to sea to fulfill a charter job.
As Tyler finally makes it to Kellen's top-floor office to deliver the sandwich, they look out at the stormy skies to see the bay drained of water. Then, a few minutes later, a wall of water crashes through the city obliterating all, but the top floors of the tallest skyscrapers. This chain of events commences a story of life-and-death challenges and constant dangers in a post-apocalyptic era. Somehow, through all of the mayhem, Tyler and Kellen find love with each other. I loved this book and look forward to reading more!
Another fantastic installment in the Surviving Earth Chronicles, Mother Nature is once again unleashing her full force and trying to destroy the world and the people within. This time around, a tsunami has destroyed San Francisco and is working its way inland, and our survivors are trying to navigate this broken world while also trying to save each other. Kellen and Tyler are our two heroes and both are working relentlessly to save whoever they can. Their paths eventually cross and the sparks fly. Water is one thing that will forever scare me, so I loved this idea of the world being destroyed by it. With rising sea levels, it’s not really a stretch to imagine that this is how it all ends. I love when apocalypses have a dose of reality meshed in, and this one certainly does. I adored Tyler and Kellen together. They’re both wonderful humans who would do anything for anyone, even in the face of adversity. Their relationship was just as sweet as it was spicy and they were definitely the highlight of the book for me. All told, a fantastic end-of-the world m/m romance that will hook you from the beginning. 4 stars.
