Cute😉🤍 Gabrielle Meyer is such a gem in the christian historical fiction genre! I’m loving these novellas! Also, this was the first guy that had brown eyes and not blue!!🤣🤣 I was beginning to wonder if she would only give the guys blue eyes lol. I also enjoyed how the romance was slightly different in this one compared to the other novellas.
In "The American Brides Collection," Gabrielle Meyer has curated a delectable assortment of eight novellas, rich and sweet as a box of chocolates.
Skillfully hand-crafted, each novella features nuanced characters, atmospheric settings, fascinating history, and heart-fluttering romance.
If historical romance is your favorite bookish treat, you’ll enjoy savoring The American Brides Collection!

I enjoyed this novella of a marriage of convenience! Very sweet, with important faith thread! Little Falls, MN, Belle Prairie Mission. Very good story!
I read this in one sitting, it moved super fast and kept my attention the whole time. I just wish it was a full length novel. I would love to hear more of Josette and Alexandre’s stories and future. This books reminds me of Is Love Blind but set back in the 1800’s. Please make this into a full length novel with my interviews of the bachelors lol!
This was such a cute novella with the marriage of convenience. Josette didn't want to lose her inheritance to her half-brother, so in desperation she went to St. Louis to answer an ad for a husband. Not expecting to meet anyone that she would like, she is surprised to meet Alexandre Dugas. All of these novellas in this series have been wonderful!
This was released and I quickly halted current books to read it. 😄 A wonderful plot that kept me on the edge of my seat until the end. I loved the main characters and the storyline packed a punch in a short amount of time! ❤️
Another quick, but fun read. I loved that there was a return of a couple side characters. Watching story between Josette and Alexandre unfold was lovely. And seeing Josette realize where she needed to be in the end was perfect.
I always wish these novellas could be longer! I loved this one though! The sweet relationship between Alexander and Josette, their misunderstanding and complicated situation, I like the details about her dresses and outfits even!
I really enjoyed this book. It was everything you want in a good historical romance. The descriptions of the town, people and the scenery made you feel you were there. I loved the ending. I highly recommend this book and this talented author.
I am truly amazed at the depth that that Gabrielle Meyer was able to pack in this novella it was so wholesome and sweet and yet I loved the realization that was came to.
I've enjoyed all of these novellas that have been published so far. They are perfect when I need a quick, enjoyable read. Keep 'em coming, Ms. Meyer! 😊
A nice, short story. Perfect road trip or bubble bath read. I give this a 3.5 rating. Simple story. Nothing too complex. I am intrigued by the newspaper ad that this story was based off of.
Yup, still really enjoy this series. In this one, you'll find Josette desperate to marry in order to save her father's company. This has been her dream and singular focus in life, particularly as she has a step family who would squander everything he worked for. She finds a man willing to marry her, but he's set to minister in another town. Knowing what they do about their futures, they marry, but their story doesn't end happily ever after, just yet. The Lord will work on their hearts to bring them back together. It's a beautiful story, demonstrating the value and sacrifice of marriage.
