With Eva trapped in imminent peril, Bash rushes to save her and take down the False King once and for all. Eva desperately searches for a way out of her predicament, even as circumstances beyond her control bring her back to the secret kingdom that once had been her home.
As sides form in the forthcoming war, not all are eager to believe the False King they thought vanquished is still bent on taking control of the faerie realm. With enemies closing in, and not even sleep safe from the nightmares that are all too real, the fate of the realm will come down to a race against time.
Secrets from the past merge with the present as Eva struggles to unravel the truth that might change her fate. But will she be forced to choose between her kingdom and her future—or was that destiny a lie all along?
You guys I physically do not have the words to explain how much I loved this. I was an Arc reader for Dana’s first book, and it instantly brought me out of my reading slump and I read it in a day!. It’s quite literally the same for this one.
I haven’t been able to pick up a book in a whole month because of my slump but when I got the link to this book, I COUDLNT PUT IT DOWN. I started reading it at 1am and I had to force myself to go to sleep. I woke up in the morning and instantly picked it up again, IT WAS AMAZING.
Bash and Eva just have my entire heart, they deserve the world. I loved it so much. We learnt more about the lands and we found out some intriguing and jaw dropping things!!! If there was one book I could recommend forever it would be TOSOTM and this one. You guys we haven’t even gotten the third one yet but I’m so obsessed it’s not even funny.
Every single scene had me feeling all the emotions, the relationships with all of the characters just had my heart so full. The found family trope will always be one of the best ones ever. And bash will always be one of my favourite shadow daddies 🤭
I’m so proud of how far Dana has come, her books deserve so much recognition!! I can’t recommend it enough!! I loved sending her my love reactions while reading this one because oh my gosh it was amazing!! These books will have you hooked and in love straight away!!.
This is the second book in the mirrored trilogy and it comes out December 3rd, so you have time to read the other side of the mirror before then🤭 (read it rn)
First things first, I absolutely adore this author and am a total fan girl of book 1. I have recommended it to everyone who likes Romantasy as I enjoyed it sooooo much. I think my expectations were really high for this sequel and while I definitely did like parts of it, I was a bit let down by other parts.
Things I loved: - The writing! So well written and descriptive. Even the spice was well written and never felt cringey. - Adrian & Estelle POV - I really loved getting their story both for the lore and the romance. There were times I was more interested in what was going on with them rather than our main cast. - The overall plot was super interesting, I loved the foreshadowing, secrets revealed and all that.
Some things I struggled with: - The pacing felt a little off for me. The beginning felt so rushed while the middle dragged at times. For example: - A lot of things felt repetitive throughout the book. The plot, the spice, both the FMC and MMC's inner dialogue.
The way things wrapped up at the end was a little jarring knowing this is a trilogy. I now know book 3 will be different POV's so while we will still likely see our beloved Bash & Eva, we are moving on from their story which makes me a little sad! But I am definitely excited to read the final installment in this series.
Thank you so much to the author, Dana Evyn, for providing me with an eARC. This review reflects my honest thoughts and opinions.
Absolutely loved the second book in this trilogy! I was already so invested in the characters from book one and eager to get to the cliff hanger resolution. It did not disappoint! So much action in the second half I couldn’t put it down! I love me some Eva and Bash 🥰
This sequel had me hooked from page one with its intensity, fast-paced action, and emotional depth. Eva and Bash’s heartbreaking struggles and undeniable chemistry kept me invested, while the villain, Aviel, was terrifyingly unforgettable—a testament to Dana’s talent.
Eva is a badass FMC with a hint of a savior complex, and her relationship with Bash continues to grow beautifully. The side characters, like Tobias, Quinn, Adrian, and Estelle, shine so much that I’d love a novella just for them!
Tense, spicy, and packed with emotion, this sequel delivers a satisfying ending that almost feels perfect for a duology? Interested to see what she’ll right about next! I can’t wait for the final book—it’s bound to be epic!
3.5⭐️ A solid conclusion, but the story really started to drag for me. The spice was a bit excessive—not that I mind spicy scenes, but it felt like half the book was just the two main characters constantly hooking up, to the point where I wanted to skip ahead. That said, I did enjoy the HEA they got. Overall, the series was good, but not amazing.
Book 2 of the Mirrored Trilogy picks up right where we left Eva who is in the clutches of the False King while Bash and his team figure out how to get her back. With a race against the clock, they fight to stop the False King from taking the kingdom- a seemingly destined and inevitable war looming ahead.
What a sequel! This book definitely turned up the heat. It’s a lot spicier, a little darker, and a lot more emotionally gripping than the first book. I love how we get additional POVs that give us more insight into the history of the world and the secrets that were kept to keep Eva safe. Dana brought new subcharacters to life so well that you can’t help but immediately fall in love with them and want more. I think I loved them even more than our main MCs in this book. 🥹
The words and feelings felt raw and beautiful, so of course I was crying at 3am in the morning as I finished this.
Although the words were heartbreaking and romantic, this did take me a little longer to get through, as I felt the dialogue got pretty repetitive without really progressing for a good chunk of the book. I also think we could have gone with fewer spice scenes for the love and desperation to still be effective. Other than that, the spice was hot hot hot! I was pulled away from the story a bit in the middle but was quickly brought back in towards the end.
Dana truly gave us the vulnerability and anxiety of the characters that will easily make your heart clench. And of course, we love a good found family and sweet and spicy shadow daddy!
🪞multi pov 🪞fated mates 🪞hurt/comfort 🪞shadow daddy 🪞found family
This is book 2 in the Mirrored Trilogy. Although I love Eva and Bash, I’m curious to see what’s in store for book 3 as I thought this book wrapped up pretty well. Maybe we will get a new main romance??
*As mentioned, this book is centered a lot on trauma healing and comfort, so please make sure to read trigger warnings.*
Thank you Dana Evyn for the advanced copy for an opportunity to read and review! ♥️
Wow! This second book was even better than the first one and I was hooked until the end.
Eva is back to her ab*ser, while trying to find a way to save the realm from Aviel the false king.
There’s a lot of trauma healing in this book and it broke my heart that Eva had to go through that so much in this book but we do get much character growth from our main characters.
Bash was so supportive, loving her and supporting her along the way and it was so adorable! He’s truly the perfect mate for her🥰
New characters are introduced, and I loved them! There are also multiple povs and we get some backstory as Eva’s parents story is told and it was so nice to get some insights of the past!
I’m truly curious now how the author will wrap up everything in the last book.
Huge thanks to Dana Evyn and The Nerd Fam for this ARC!
whew, this book was a let down. i really enjoyed the first one and couldn’t wait to read this. this one dragged, and around the 70% mark i was just ready to be done. By 80% i was skimming the pages. there was soooooo much repetition. Repetitive inner dialogue, gestures, conversations, etc. i was OVER it by the end. I found myself more invested in Estelle and Adrian than the main couple. Also, the bit at the end with alette was nice but certain plot points of this book felt copied from other popular fantasy books. i don’t think I’ll be reading book 3.

After devouring 'The other side of the mirror', I dived straight into book 2 of this gripping Fae romantasy trilogy. The series is packed with tension, twists, sweet mate bonds, a dangerous and obsessive villain, surviving trauma, and fulfilling prophecies. Bash and Eva are such a power couple after embracing their mate bonds, I love their determination, patience and devotion, and the magical tattoos for secret messages! The story has plenty of sweet moments and spice, balanced against the hurt, trauma and violence. I love the found family elements too and the side characters, including seeing Estelle and Adrian's story unfold which was heartbreaking. The plot is filled with sacrifice, bravery and resilience, and I am so intrigued to know what's in store for the finale of the trilogy, as things seem calm before the storm.
🗡️ "Eyes up, stout heart. The only way is through"
🗡️"I'll be content to spend my days learning all the ways to make you smile, make you laugh... and make you moan, if you'll let me"
🗡️"Our love does not bend to death. Nor will it bow to it"
🗡️"Don't you dare pretend we aren't forever. Whatever comes next, well face it together - consequences be damned. And if the choice is between the world and you ... I choose you, always"
I am gonna just start right off the bat with I LOVE THIS SERIES, I LOVED THIS BOOK. How book 1 ended I was excited to start book 2 and to see what happens next in The Mirrored Trilogy and this did not disappoint. The way Dana writes and describes her world-building, is so beautiful. I feel like I was transported there as I read.
The multiple POVs we got in this book I loved. There were twists I was not expecting, I went through so many ranges of emotions while reading, I was on the edge of my seat with parts, gripping my kindle very tight, I couldn’t stop reading. This read was definitely an emotional rollercoaster with swoon-worthy romance, non-stop action, heart racing danger and heartbreak.
I adore Bash and Eva so much.
Eva is such a strong and fierce woman. She endures so much in this story, I loved following her on this journey. And Bash I LOVE him. His patience and dedication to Eva is so heartwarming. He is perfect for her. Bash reminds me of my husband when it come to his patience, dedication and love he has for me but….without the shadow powers LOL
The side characters I just love and I loved their family moments, and we meet new side characters that I just fell in love with as well..
The spice in this book be spicin.
The ending of this book truly felt like a duology but I am so excited and curious to see how Dana writes the final installment of this trilogy and bring this amazing story to a concluding end
Thank Dana Evyn for gifting me this ARC and allowing me to be on your street team.
Good God! This book is an absolutely wild ride and I was not ready for it. Read the first book yesterday in preparation for this ARC so I was still reeling somehow grumpy I was at how the first ended (Even though, yes, I know why it needed to end that way 😂)
I absolutely love the ferocity of Eva, our FMC. Our MMC, is all green flags, With his life’s greatest ambition, seemingly to support his love and to keep her and their family safe
The only thing I wish was, I wish we had more information about our ‘fiery’ character.
This captivating Romantasy had me hooked from the very beginning of the first book. Eva and Bash are the perfect example of fated mates. They share the unique ability that only soulmates share, to experience the feelings of your partner. This ability can prove difficult during wartime, with life threatening consequences for every decision you make. I like that although Bash can feel her emotions he allows her the space and time she needs to talk about them. The found family in this story is strong and each character managed to steal a piece of my heart! I did make assumptions about how the story would end and I really thought I was correct, but be careful what you deem insignificant, it can be the most significant in the end. As always, make sure this is the right book for you as a reader. Mental health matters!
4.5⭐️ Lots of action in book #2 which I enjoyed but it was a bit heavy at times. Plot was interesting and I loved the flashback POV chapters from the Mom & Dad’s perspectives their romance was so sweet but tragic.
The second book in the Mirrored Trilogy, The Mirror in the Mountain, by Dana Evyn is a fantastic romantasy adventure. You cheer for soulmates Bash and Eva as they face off against one of the most truly terrifying villains I’ve encountered in a long time. This story is full of steam, spice, and a big hearted cast of multi-layered characters. It’s a heart-thumping and nail-biting ride—a journey not to be missed. Bravo to Evyn on this unputdownable story.
okay this series needs more hype because it’s so well written. i felt right alongside these characters and i felt every emotion. i absolutely loved this which i knew i would. GO READ THIS 🤍
Absolutely could not get enough of this book and this series! After the first book ended, I was waiting in anticipation to see what would happen next and this did not disappoint! Although I am nervous for what the next book will have in store for us seeing how this book wrapped up.
I absolutely loved the additional POVs we got in this book and how it was written so well that reading it felt so easy! There were twists I was not expecting and this also put me through a range of emotions while reading! I adore Bash & Eva and will forever need more of them together!
📖 The Mirror in the Mountain 📖 Dana Evyn 📖 Fantasy/Romantasy
💫 My Thoughts 💫
This is book 2 of The Mirrored Trilogy I would absolutely recommend going in and reading book 1 first, Which I did after reading the first few chapters of this one, so I could fully understand who was who and what had preciously happened.
But first, I absolutely love these covers of this series!
This one's starts off where the last one ends, after the little preview of a certain characters parents when they were younger. With 2 POVs, just like book 1, we see the narrative from Eva and Bash.
Well, what a ride this one was! It was action-packed and fast-paced from the very beginning, and I didn't want to put it down because I needed to know what was going to happen next. You could see the development of the characters and in the storyline, and you could feel the emotions between Eva and Bash and not forgetting the found family in Eva and Bash's Friends who were always there for them!
I did sometimes feel that the dialogue was a bit samey in places, and some of the spicier scenes weren't needed, but as a whole, I really did enjoy this second installment! With this being a trilogy, I do think that this could have been a duology as everything was wrapped up nicely for Eva and Bash, but I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in book 3!
Thank you to @lovebookstours and @danaevyn for the gifted ebook in exchange for my free review.
Eva is no stranger to feeling alone or abandoned. After everything that transpired, she now has everything to lose. With the kingdoms in peril, Eva faces off with the enemy and their entwined fates. This is no fairytale. And there may be no happy ending for any of them if the enemy isn’t defeated.
Tropes: 👀 Multi POV ✨ Shadow daddy MMC 💪🏻 She saves herself 💞 Fated mates 🧑🧑🧒🧒 Found family 💫 Dark magic ✨ Dreamwalking 🌶️: Moderate to high
Dana delivers an action-packed, steamy, and emotionally gripping installment. While Eva grapples with her destiny and the choices she must make, Bash will do anything and risk everything to keep her safe. Their love for each other is so fervent and unconditional. Can it withstand fate itself?
I love the additional POV and how events of the past are interwoven with the present, chronicling a wistful story of sacrifice, love, and loss.
With clever twists, thrilling reveals, and a swoonworthy romance, The Mirror in the Mountain is a stellar conclusion to Eva and Bash’s duet and a must-read for fans of fated mates, Shadow Daddies, and “she saves herself” tropes!
Thank you so much Dana for the ARC opportunity. This is my honest and voluntary review.
I have been waiting for this book, especially after the cliffhanger in the first book! This book had me laughing and bawling my eyes out but I could not put it down. With all the twists and secrets I couldn’t get enough! My heart melted during Adrian & Estelle’s POV. Adrian was just so perfect and I love how immediately he was all in with Estelle and was so patient with her. I am obsessed with Bash and Eva I just love their love story. I love how supportive Bash is and how strong Eva is and how they both balance each other out. They were still so playful with each other with the notes they wrote. The found family trope is perfect, I love the entire group.
I cannot wait for the third book! I have a feeling we are going to learn more about Tobias and Quinn!!
💫 Romantasy 🖤 Fated mates 💫 Found family 🖤 “Who did this to you?” 💫 Shadow daddy 🖤 Dreamwalking 💫 She saves herself
A great continuation of the Mirrored Trilogy! While the first book ended on a cliffhanger, this concluded perfectly and I’m curious what book 3 will be about! We got answers to all of our questions but there were twists and turns along the way to keep it interesting.
Read this if you’re in mood for… - big battles and fight scenes - found family - the fight for each other - writing each other notes - no betrayal - HEA
This conclusion-ish to the story made sense to me! It felt like a good extension of the first book and I liked going to new places and meeting new people while focusing on those original problems. Sometimes the pacing felt slightly off and I had to stop myself from skimming but overall, it was great! There’s more spice in this book than the first but it didn’t feel like it took away from the story.
Here are a few of my favorite things… - every time Bash is a mother hen lol - the notes are so sweet! I love when they use them - Eva and Rivan’s relationship grew more this book and I loved seeing that. Maybe we’ll get his story in the future? Would love that! - the flashbacks of Estelle were perfect! Added so much to the story and explained a lot without being too much.
Overall, I would recommend!
Thank you to the Nerd Fam for introducing me to this series!
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me with an eARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was the perfect sequel and a brilliant way to continue a story I fell in love with.
I was almost expecting another cliffhanger ending but it seems like the series is actually a duology with an interconnected third book that follows different characters - and I'm not mad about this.
Not only is there a real ending, the pacing is also excellent because the story isn't being drawn out across three books. Everything happens fairly quickly but with the right level of detail, world building and character development that it never feels rushed.
Aviel is still just as awful as in the first book - he might be my favourite villain of the year as I HATE him but was always excited to see what he would do next.
The more we were shown of other characters that weren't really in the first book, the more I look forward to getting to them even more in the third book of the series.
This is absolutely a series you need to read if you love Fae Romantasy as it hits all the right points and tropes. I really didn't want this book to end and I don't want the series to either.
Can this story be any better than it turned out? The story is a trilogy but a major part of the plot is a duet and is complete with this book bringing a century war to its end with Eva and Bash and now the next book will be with someone else concluding the series. I am equally excited about the future book as I was for the second book.
Reading the second book just after the first was a delight after that scary cliffhanger in the previous one. The journey was absolutely nerve-wracking and I was like what?? What’s happening and when will this end? Will the justice be served? What is to come next? All the questions kept circling in my mind from start to finish.
The plot is fabulous and the execution is perfection itself. I loved the writing, the characters are to die for. Their bonding, friendship and everything in between is just icing on the cake. A great balance of everything needed was there in the story which I really really enjoyed.
I loved many quotes in the book, and the best part was the PoV of Estella and Adrian. It enhanced the story and gave me all the answers I craved in this book. Eva and Bash were as usual mind-blowing with their passion, love and confidence. It is a must-read fantasy story.
I wish more books started with a recap of the last one like this book did. Can we please make that the norm?
I think this book had a lot going for it. My favorite characters were 100% Estelle and Adrian. I was honestly sad whenever we went back to our actual main characters povs. There was character growth that happened with Bash and Eva, but I’m not going to lie, the spice really started taking me out of the story around 60% of the way through. I started skimming more than I have in a long time. It felt pointless and repetitive, and all I wanted was to get back to the plot. Because I like the plot. And I like the characters.
When I wasn’t skimming through spice scenes I really did enjoy this book. If I hadn’t been so frustrated with the spice I probably would have rated it higher. I think the inclusion of Eva’s parents povs was a great idea for lore and explaining how we got to where we are. I would 100% read a book just about them.
Thank you so much to Dana for a copy of this book in exchange for a review!
What a heart-pounding sequel! This book was a rollercoaster of emotion and filled with non-stop action, heart-racing danger, swoon-worthy romance, and agonizing heartbreak. In short, this book had everything!
Eva is such a strong fierce woman. She goes through so much in this story. I loved her journey. And there was no better person than Bash to be by her side. His dedication and patience was so sweet.
This book also had an unexpected surprised with a glimpse into the past but I don’t want to giveaway too much just know that it was well worth it!
Let’s not forget the whole gang. I loved those family moments and I can’t wait to see what happens next!
Need more reasons to read: soulmates, touch him/her and xxx, she saves herself, strong FMC, shadow daddy, spice, sweet tender moments, hurt/comfort, high stakes, magic, battles, and so so much more!!
Now! The Mirror In The Mountain is Book 2 in Dana's Mirrored Triology and BOY DID WE STEP UP! Dana...girl....thank you 🤣
This book was *licks fingers* detectable. I couldnt put it down. Bash and Eva are back! Their love story is just beautiful 🥹 We left our couple with Eva being captured by the false King and our beloved shadow daddy trying everything to get her back.
This book took us more on an emotional journey than the first with more trauma and vulnerability, so please check your trigger wwarnings, as this is definitely darker. Dana approached this in such a delicate manner, and i commend her for such gorgeous writing.
I enjoyed that we got more about the history and secrets with the POV from Adrian and Estelle. Sometimes, having multiple POVs can be jarring, but they were well placed and meaningful to the story.
We got a step in the spice department, which was hot 🔥 🥵.
Overall, this was a brilliant sequel to 'The Other Side Of The Mirror', and if you haven't read it, then go DO IT!!
Thank you to Dana and The Nerd Fam for allowing me to read this ARC and I look forward to the final chapter in this series!! ❤️
This was a good sequel and honestly I would be perfectly content if this was a duology instead of a trilogy with how it ended! This book was tense, spicy, emotional, and action packed. Eva is a badass FMC with a little bit of a savior complex (but let’s be real, it’s rare when a badass FMC doesn’t have one). I loved seeing the progression of Eva and Bash’s relationship and I’m really looking forward to the blossoming relationship with Tobias and Quinn. I really enjoyed all the side characters and honestly would have loved a separate novella on Adrian and Estelle!
Interested to see what happens in the 3rd and final installment!
Thank you to Love Book Tours and Dana for an ARC in exchange for my honest review!
The perfect send off from book one!!! We find our main characters once again in danger and the false king is at it again. I think this book was such a good read because we learned so much about our main characters Eva and Bash in book one that I was so hungry for a sequel. I needed to know how this story progressed with their new found relationship and their newfound magic and powers, the world really felt unstoppable for these two. I love when the main female character needs to be saved and Bash is perfect for the job. I love how there were twists and turns and your at the edge of your seat waiting to find out what Eva will chose, her kingdom and her new future and then to find out what her true destiny is
This was an intense sequel! I loved the found family aspect and how much stronger these relationships became towards the end of the book. Eva goes through a ton in this book, some of her decisions weren’t my favorite but her love for everyone made her want to self sacrifice, a lot. Bash also became another book bf because he is so sweet with Eva and just wants what’s best for her. This book was action packed, spicy, and the perfect type of romantasy that we all want. I’m so excited for the third book of this trilogy! Thank you so much City Owl Press and Dana Evyn for the advanced copy!
WOW! What an incredible sequel. This book was full of action and the perfect amount of spice. I absolutely love the multi-character POV. Estelle and Adrian's story is so heartwrenching and emotional. It gives the context to Eva's childhood and backstory while perfectly complimenting Eva and Bash's present day storyline. Eva is probably one of my favorite FMCs, her fierce and strong attitude pairs nicely with Bash's lighthearted and warm personality. The world building in this series is phenomenal and the magic system is so unique compared to other fantasy books which makes it refreshing to read. I highly recommend this to any romantasy fans!
