Introducing an irresistible new character, sure to capture the hearts (and giggles) of readers everywhere, perfect for fans of Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus and the Pig the Pug series!
This one-of-a-kind picture book is a guaranteed laugh for messy kids ages 0–99.
When Piggle’s parents let him know that they’ll be stopping by, preparing for their visit seems positively easy. All he has to do is put away several months’ worth of laundry, remove an extraordinary amount of trash, and wipe down any surfaces that might be covered in grime and mildew (which is all of them). And wait… who is that living in the washing machine? Nothing your average pig can’t handle!
Children who dread room-cleaning day, adults who freeze up when facing the task of housecleaning, or just about anyone who has faced down a sink full of dishes will find Piggle’s struggle relatable. Uniquely hilarious, Piggle the Pig will delight readers as he faces the universal struggle of preparing for unanticipated houseguests.
I follow Dudolf on Instagram and they are some of my favourite comics! And I was so excited when I found out about this book! I love it. The illustrations are so cute and funny and there is lots to see as well, as I laughed way too hard at the green paint called "Goose Turd Green"!
Oh, Piggle, life is sometimes overwhelming, isn't it? Hmm, I wonder if ADHD folks can relate to this? I certainly did to some parts of it. I need to clean the house! But wait! This plant has dead leaves that need to be picked off of it, that's cleaning, right!? I should reorganize my junk drawer...etc. Thankfully, I don't get quite as distracted as Piggle, and I'm a little more careful with my processes. Anyway, Piggle is kind of distracted as they try to clean and things go from good-ish to worse, clean-ish to a disaster... but maybe it will work out okay? I'm not sure toddlers would "get" the humor, but some preschoolers and, especially, elementary students would probably get a kick out of this little book. It is small, so I don't think I would use it with a group larger than 10.
First sentence: Piggle the Pig was quite busy with his usual morning routine when his phone rang. It was his parents, calling to tell Piggle that they were coming for a visit.
Premise/plot: Piggle the Pig is quite surprised that his parents are coming! He must clean immediately. It starts off well: one sock at a time. But soon Piggle is overwhelmed with the many, many, many things that remain to do. Surely a little nap after a planning session will help?! Will his parents be pleased with Piggle?
My thoughts: I definitely appreciated this one! It was fun and playful! Piggle was a delight! He might just have some attention issues....but he's always a delight all the same.
This is more like Frog and Toad Are Friends than the Pigeon books or the Pig the Pug books like in the description.
I found this cute but weirdly geared towards adults. I feel like kids don't really get the anxiety of needing to clean up your house and constantly finding new tasks.
Also, the font was fun, it reminded me of scaredy squirrel, but it needed to be bigger.
I received an ARC of this book for my honest opinion.
Piggle is soooo cute! And he is totally me. I love his flawed yet logical cleaning style, his process, and the outcome. And he’s sooo cute. I just can’t get over these illustrations. A great book just for fun and for saying “awwww” at evey page.
Piggle's parents are coming for a visit and he need to clean his pigsty! Through a series of misadventures that only cause more of a mess, Piggle worries that his parents will be disappointed.
But they are pigs. And they love what Piggle has done to the place.
Just silly fun that will have kids giggling over Piggle's mistakes.
Easy reader. It was abit higher level for a easy reader in my opinion. More of a early chapter book level with the vocab and the sentence structure. The pig is trying to clean up before a visit from his parents. He makes more of a mess as he cleans. Kids will find him silly and laugh at the mistakes he makes while cleaning up.
When Piggle hears that his parents are coming to his house to visit, he begins desperately tidying up. But he's not very good at it.
This is a silly and relatable book with a funny twist at the end. It's easy to read, and while it didn't make me laugh out loud, it's definitely one I'd read with my emerging readers.
Piggle gets a phone call and it’s his parents. They’re coming for a visit!! He has to get this house ready. This means making it even more messy than it usually is. Will his parents be happy with how he has his house? Is it messy enough? Illustrations do an excellent job telling the story. Cute book. 4 stars
Piggle struggles to clean his home for his parents' visit. Readers will enjoy how hard he works to not do his chores. Dudolf builds the suspense and sets readers up for a surprise ending.
