Damian's Immortal

Rate this book
Book 3, War of Gods series. The White God’s most trusted friend, Jule, has his powers stripped by the Watchers. They give him an impossible mission: find the mysterious Magician and kill her, before she reopens the gateway between the realms. Jule quickly discovers the beautiful Magician is not what the Watchers claim. Afraid of her own powers, the Magician has lived a sheltered life, a near-prisoner of someone determined to use her magic to destroy the human world. The Magician, Yully, must choose between her loyalty to the man she views as her father and Jule, the man whose touch brings her hope and happiness after years of fear.

Meanwhile, the young Black God is growing into his powers, with the assistance of a being that shouldn’t exist, and whose presence threatens to alter the balance of power between Good and Evil.

Sweet paranormal romance.

Straight Up -- these are the hottest sexless alpha males I have ever come across. These novellas are like little jolts of electricity...they get me all tingly. I am completely addicted. I am almost glad there is fade-to-black sex because I don't know if I could stand it. These characters are very sexual so I can only imagine how combustable the scenes would be if they were there. Yeah, I am feeling kindhearted about the lack of sex in this series because the stories are too good to punish.

Each mating story gets better and better. This heroine is not my fave because I don't really know what the hell she is but I liked her. The hero and all the males are just so yum...Tall, Rich, Good Looking, and Aggressive. A girl can't ask for more. The creativity of Ms. Ford's work deserves each of the 5 stars I am giving it. This 3rd installment progressed the story further than I expected and threw in an ample supply of curve balls. I can't wait for the next one and hope like crazy it's a full length novel.

Ms. Lizzy does it again, and I erally hate her for it! This book was great. She did a very nice job of bringing in prior characters from the prior books that I appreciate. I am SO glad I came across the first book in this series (Damian's Oracle" back in Feb 2011 because she has entertained me with every book in different ways. She is a talented writer that can keep you glued to your seat reading and reading and make you upset if you have to quit (like needing to go to bed, or finishing the book, or whatever). This is the third installment and the last isn't coming out till May of 2012!!! which completely sucks. My only suggestion to this last book would be - - shouldn't it be called Damian's Brother or Damian's Gatekeeper? to keep with the themes of the other books? I realize the Grey God is an entity all to himself, but it's just a thought...

This book had the similar problem with some Lizzy Ford's books that I gave lower stars. The problem always lied with the heroine and her blind judgement. Even when they realised they were manipulated and lied to, they still continued to follow them. I couldn't understood Yully's need to follow her father's order. The book did not make it believable the necessity of her obedient to his orders. The only reason she followed him was simply because he was powerful and that he told her lies that she was all alone. Other than that I saw no reason why she would do what he demanded when it was become clear that she was very powerful herself. The whole setting of 'only I can save the world and protect him' was almost too frustrating to read. Yes, she was ignorant. Yes she was lied too. However her newly acquired wisdom did not make her any smarter at all. I saw that the heroine remained naive powerful child only because she needed to do what she did so the story could go on and that was not a great way to keep the series going. I grew to feel very frustrated with Yully's character. Her only redemption was, of course, the very ending which was almost as expected when she helped the Hero instead.

I kind of didn't like this part of the installment of the series mainly because Jule had to save a damsel in distress, and the fact that Yully had an abusive adopted father, who was a selfish prig and was only thinking of taking over the world and himself! As the book gets to the good parts you see Yully growing up, standing up for herself, and becoming her own person (with some help form Damian, Dusty, Sofia, Bianca, Darian, and the major one that plays part in it is Jule) and I really enjoyed that aspect in the book. Jule well what can I say about him... he has some um... issues I guess. "Sweetheart, I'm sitting in your car bleeding to death. I think I'm doing pretty damn good, considering I would've been able to kill him if you hadn't shot and run me over," he replied in irritation.

This one wasn’t as good as the other 2. I like Jule and I really liked Xander- the Original Vamp. So far the first book in this series is my favorite. I have one more to go.

After the Grey God (Darian) zapping all the Guardians power leaves Jule unfortunately stranded in Ireland with no powers. The Watcher comes and gives Jules the opportunity to redeem himself. He has to kill the Magician as she will rip the two realms apart and the Original Beings will escape and bring chaos. Jules excepts the mission partially until he meets Yully (The Magician) and realizes that Yully isn't who she was made out to be. She was adopted by an Other a very long time ago. She has been told lies until she meets Jules and starts to learn the truth. Jules tries to capture her and well she tries to turn him to stone but they swap parts of their souls with one another. They have a great bond.
Parallel to this the Black God is having issues within his base he comes to an agreement with Damian that he gets to borrow Jenn and they get a vampire called Charles. Jonny finds it difficult to slip into his role and to control his powers. He doesn't quite take the path that he is suppose to. Meanwhile another Original Being called Xander is helping the Black God to adapt to his role. Jule finds out that he is also an Original Being and asks Xander for help. Ok so once again good prevails evil with certain losses on both parts. Darian is adjusting as well to his role as Gatekeeper. I love the characters and hope that Damian can achieve getting rid of the Watchers and Others. I also find the book to be a little too short but it really is worth the read.

I agree with a lot of other reviewers... this book felt much shorter than the first 2 in the series but it was still very good!
Jule is coincidentally "stuck" in Ireland and asked by a Watcher to kill a Magician who is powerful enough to open the portal between the immortal and mortal world. Jule finds the magician but she's not the evil woman the Watcher implied she would be. He finds Yully; she's an innocent and talented girl who's been raised by an Other with a dark purpose. Jule then begins to doubt the Watcher, hate the Other, and seek out an Original to help him remember his past, restore his power, and save Yully.

It's a whirlwind of a journey that brings many of the previous characters together. When the gods of Good and Evil are willing to call a truce and team up, you know the Watchers and Others are a serious threat. I cannot wait to read the final book in this series to see how it all ends!

Of course I loved Damian's Immortal, I enjoyed reading Lizzy's 3rd installment of the War of Gods series. I liked Jules character from the beginning because he seemed lost. This book made me like his character more and more. Lizzy's writing is so expressive and descriptive that it seems like you're right there with the characters in the book. Now I'm anxiously awaiting her next book about Darian and Jenn.

Another great story from one of my newly found favorite authors! I feel Lizzy Ford has really found her pace in this third installment. There are new characters to meet and plenty of old friends to blend the stories together. This one was the best by far! I really liked the plotline and how Lizzy has set us up for the fourth book for the Grey god. I can't wait till the next one comes out! Keep up the great work Lizzy!

It was so good that I finished it within 24 hours. A lot of great things were revealed in the third book, questions answered that we've wondered about. Jule was a great one to get to know better and to find out who he really is. A great sequel to "Oracle" and "Assassin". I've already started on Grey God.

Another great read, I liked this one just as much as the first two. I hope these books turn into movies in the near future. The power the characters have should be very cool on the big screen.

Julie's Magician

This book was so very interesting to me because it touched on abuse, love, deep friendships, as well as some uncertainty. The uncertainty was that poor Yully was so confused about Guardians because her father told her that guardians were out to kill her for her magic. She found Jule (an immortal/guardian) who made her feel safe & cared for, even though he was sent to kill her, but he fell for her instead. Her father was abusive & controlling, a liar, as well as a murderer of guardians, but once everything fell into place , her father destroyed, she found her courage, her love & a true family.

Jule has been the character that has interested me the most in the War of Gods series. I have always wanted to know what his deal was.
Let it be said, the guy isn't what I expected. I thought of him to be this broody, silent badass, but he came across as your average guy. Where is the "alpha male" some have him pegged for? Jule, you've let me down. I do not particularly like you anymore...

The storyline, spanning from Damian's Oracle forth, remains quite interesting - I love mythology, and War of Gods taps in a different kind of mythology I have known so far - so, why am I rating this with only 3-stars? Well, it is due to the fact that this is all turning out to be quite predictable. I liked the twist at the end of Damian’s Assassin (you know ), but that seems to be the highlight of the series so far, along with the revelation in Damian's Oracle that Darian was not dead and then became the Grey God.

Right from the start you know Jule is going to end up with The Magician of the weird name, manipulated into stuff by her adoptive father aka the bad guy. I want a pow-wow relationship! Like, there are a guy and two girls (or the other way around) - not in a dirty threesome way, though - and you do not know with whom they will end up with.

To me, the most exciting thing in here was Xander and the revelation of the Original Beings.

Installment 3 of the War of Gods series. Now things are getting good! At least in my opinon.

Yully’s adopted father is an abusive man he has put it in her head that he is he only one that would ever like her and care about her because of her powers. Powers that she is afraid of . Jule has his powers stripped by the Watchers and they give him the task of finding the Magician and killing her. When he meets Yully he finds he can not and will not do that task.

I think this is one of my favorite books in this series. I like Jule and his laid back good guy personality. We find out more about him in this book and who he was in the past. There was some great scenes written. My favorite has to do with a car and someone getting hit with it. We are also introduced to Xander. He becomes an interesting character I’d like ( and will) read more about.

The action really picks up especially between The Guardians and The Others. Also, again we have the Grey God who is coming into his powers and getting a better grasp of himself. No longer going through the surely teen stage.

Out of all the females Yully is my favorite. She’s kind of a big deal :-) and the chemistry between Yully and Jule is only surpassed by one other couple in this series.

This book is action packed, funny, and had me reading into the morning. I could not put it down and when I did I picked up the next.

Continue to love this series! I like that once a couple's book is written, they don't just fall out of the story! All of the characters are very much prominent parts of every book. Love Jule, he's so...calm compared with Damian, Dusty, and Darian...very level headed and WARM! Very loyal and duty driven but, willing to bend. And, Yully is something else! I love her spunk and how she doesn't seem to give up. She takes so much from her "father" and just keeps her chin up no matter what. I like a heroine that can take care of herself and doesn't go all "girly" all the time! She and Jule are perfect together! I'm glad that Other got what was coming to him...and...XANDER????? Yes, he's a present I'd like to open and see more of! I feel bad for Jonny as the new Black God and all the insubordination that is going on in his organization...But, he'll figure it all out, I'm sure! Looking forward to the next book!

Jule we always knew there was something more to him then we knew. You get to find out what that is in this book. I am also glad that they finally stop listening to all the these creatures that are trying to control them in the world.
Yully is interesting, she is strong but also can't seem to get away from the person who is hurting her even though she knows that she needs to. She is a very interesting person.
This story unfolds the underlying big story that we have been trying to get to. I really enjoyed seeing Jule as a human and seeing how he can fend for another human with powers that don't work on him.
I loved the new characters and seeing how Johnny was dealing being the black god. Jenn going to help the black god and Charles helping the white god.
All the characters and plot work well together and is a great adventure story.

This so far is my favorite! We are finally getting some answers about Watchers and Others and we are starting to see the mess that is coming with the new Black God.
I really enjoyed reading about Jule and getting more information who and what he is and where he came from. Yully goes from a scared girl with powers to a more confident woman with amazing powers and it was great watching her blossom!
I am also fascinated by this new player that's manipulating the Black God, Xander. I am anxious to see what kind of role he will play in the future.
This book is setting us up for the Grey God and that's the story I am most interested in at the moment! Can't wait to read it and find out more about his powers and seeing him stretch out to full capacity! It's going to be fun!

Another great read. I enjoyed Yully and Jule's story but the first book in the series is still my favorite. I love how this series isn't filled with sex; instead its filled with a lot of action and full of different characters. Characters you will either hate or love and even though the Black God is supposed to be evil, I'm really enjoying Johnny. However, I am ready for the next book in the series. I'm ready to see Darian become the man he is supposed to be with Jenn at his side. I'm excited to see how things play out with them.

Book 3 in the series was just as great as the first 2! Yully has the power to turn things into other things and draws the energy of others into herself. She has been raised since the age of 12 by an Other who wants to open the gate for mortals and immortals using Yully. Jule is ordered to kill the magician, but when he meets her knows she is special and has found his mate. The battle with the vamps continues and the Black God continues to grow more powerful. Book 4 to read now!! I love the writing in this series..a can't wait to find out what happens series.

I can't get enough of this series. Every installment is different, and it is just getting better and better. Finally, Ms. Lizzy Ford has revealed the true being of Jule, and she has introduced a new character, Xander...a vampire and an Original Being who is sent to mortal realm to assist the Black God, Jonny. His existence on earth is still a mystery. Maybe his purpose will be revealed in the "The Grey God's book," which the story evolves on Darian. Anyway, another great read. Moving on to next installment.
