I love the Avengers! I liked when they got their teammates out and finished the battle.

The Avengers find themselves at battle with both the Kree and the Skrulls to save the universe and their fellow team member, Captain Mar-vell. The storyline introduces the Kree/Skrull conflict, from the Avengers comic books (issues 89-97) early 1970s, to the 1st-3rd grade reader. Earth is located between the Kree and Skrull planets. Whichever group takes over Earth will have the most power. Captain Mar-vell is a Kree alien the Skrulls try to use to lure the Avengers into helping them take over the Earth. There is too much going on in this 46 page story. So much information is squeezed in that is hard to figure out what is happening. Characters are not fully developed and neither are any of the four underlying stories going on within the one larger story. The summary on the Copyright page contains a spelling error (“Skulls”) and Mar-vell is not spelled consistently throughout the book (“Mar-Vell” vs. “Mar-vell”). Young readers will pick up this book because it features the Avengers, but will be disappointed by the content.
