Sweet & … hum.

I am really enjoying this series and don’t regret reading Unity & the Usurper, however this isn’t my favorite of the bunch.
There were numerous typos that I’m not used to finding with Honey Phillips writing. To me this feels a little rushed to print. While it is still following a formula this series is based from, we have a new planet to discover and this keeps me reading. I honestly appreciate Ms. Phillips isn’t trying to bring past characters in for cameo appearances.
Anyway I’m uncertain why I’m leaving less than a 5 star review. I’m sorry!! This story just didn’t suck me in and glued to my reading device like I’ve come to expect. I actually greatly appreciated the fact the hero didn’t instantly claim Unity as has mate and was worried about telling her he loved her. I found that kind of cute.
I’m looking forward to the next book for Vera and the rest of the alphabet. I would still recommend this book.

The culture of this planet isn't really anything impressive. Not really different than one might find on earth. But it does touch on an interesting issue of introducing new technology to a culture. Over time kings of this planet varied between wanting to only allow outside technology to a few, giving technology to everyone, and giving technology to everyone, but slowly, at a culturally sustainable pace. It would have been interesting to have Unity weigh in on this, particularly since we've got great examples of the impacts of our own technology being rolled out faster than culture and/or bodies can keep up with (I mean, our bodies still haven't fully adjusted to the Industrial Revolution). Overall, in terms of the culture, I think there were some missed opportunities.

But that aside, I loved the story itself. Unity tries to accept her new life, without compromising herself, and jumps into applying her knowledge to this new planet. She also jumps into making new friends (and one more-than-friend), while also keeping a bit of sass towards those who might dismiss her. It's not much of a slow burn, but it also feels like the two spend more time together, and in different contexts. It's not just a romantic or physical context, or even a personal context, but a learning/exploring context and a professional context.

The abduction of human women continues, but there are still good aliens out there who will do whatever they can to protect them. That's the case with Unity and her barbarian king. While the former king was a genuinely terrible individual who did nothing good for most of his people, Cronan is entirely different. And when he finds Unity hidden away in his dungeons, he does the only thing he can think of to keep her safe: he claims her.

Which, honestly, Unity doesn't initially love. But Cronan proves to be a gentleman barbarian and it doesn't take long until Unity sees the honorable male he is.

Soon these two are connecting on more than one level and Unity's finding her place in the new world she's been dumped in. But nothing's ever THAT easy, amirite?!? Because there are still those who are loyal to the old king and a trafficking ring that Cronan is determined to bring down. So, yeah, things get a little hairy there for a while. No worries, though, because a barbarian king and a smart human make things HAPPEN!

No lie, it's always good to spend time in this world with the aliens and humans who fall for one another!

4&1\2 fabulous🌟's for Unity and the Usurper🌟🔥💖

This is one of my all time favorite sci-fi romance universes! I always want to come back here wether its for a new adventure or to revisit old friends. Unity taken from Earth and given to the King as a pet. Of course she is a feisty Tax account that does not take kindly to being told what to do and ends up in the dungeon. Cronan led a rebellion against his cruel father and has won but NIW he has to secure the planet and make sure the transition of power goes smoothly. He doesn't have time for a human until he meets Unity. She's smart and beautiful and is the first female he has ever wanted to truly make his mate. But its more than her beauty that draws him in its he quick mind and her ability win numbers that he also respects. He can't believe that he has found someone to love but that with truly be his partner! Do others want to see this happily ever after?
Or will they work to separate a King from his mated Queen? You need to read and find out! World building is top notch and the characters always have toms of physical and emotional chemistry! Highly recommend and I'm looking forward to the next in the series.🔥💖💖🔥🌟🔥💖🌟🌟💖🔥🌟🔥💖🌟💖🔥🌟🔥💖🔥💖🌟🔥

After vanquishing his treacherous father the king, Cronan is left in the awkward position of being the successor while attempting to discern who can and can’t be trusted in those remaining. When he tours the dungeons, he discovers Unity, a human woman his father had acquired as a plaything but who defied the awful king.

Unity has had it up to here with being abducted and traded as though she were a commodity. After defying the evil king, she was thrown into a cell and left to rot. When Cronan explains that he has no means or method of returning her to Earth, she is crushed. When he frees her from her cell and allows her to clean up, he inexplicably takes her to his own quarters.

While spending time in each other’s company, sparks fly and captor and captive become much more. As the new king’s consort, Unity becomes a target for the would be saboteurs intent on dethroning Cronan.

I loved this book, it had steam and intrigue and heart. Honey Phillips is an imaginative writer who is quickly becoming a favorite of mine.

In following the alphabet, Ms. Phillips has given us another sci-fi enjoyable and exciting read with the "Unity and the Usurper."" Sadly, we are nearing the end of the alphabet with this installment.

As the usurper to the throne of Failan, Cronan finds he has hands full when he rescues a spunky, human slave from the dungeon. Even in her disheveled state, Unity is a force to be reckoned with as she stands toe to toe with the towering new king who wants to help and protect her. She eventually finds this new king is a far better improvement in many ways.

There was plenty of love, laughter, and excitement had by all and a lot at poor Barthar's exspense. The side characters were well fleshed out as usual, especially with the addition of Wraith at the end. I'm already looking forward to Grabon's adventure in the next book.

The reluctant king finds his mate!!

Satisfying and sexy read about Cronan the illegitimate son of the King Ulmat of Farlain who recently overthrew his father (due to Ulmat’s cruel actions against his subjects) and is now the reluctant King. He finds out King Ulmat recently bought Unity as his slave and offers her his protection since she cannot be sent back to Earth.

There is immediate attraction between them and as they explore these feelings danger lurks for Unity. Loved this feel good story as Cronan is supportive and caring. Unity is no pushover, even with what happened to her, and she is smart and resourceful. As great epilogue as well as an intriguing setup for the next story as they work to get the slave taken down.

It feels liked forever since I'd read a new book in the Alien Abduction series. This was one of the first series I'd ever read by Honey Phillips years ago and always enjoyed it. Great world building and wonderful characters. The story was a fun adventure. I liked both Cronan and Unity. He had a lot to take care of now that he was king after his father's cruel reign. I really liked his personality (though not surprising- I always love Honey's male leads) and the way his relationship with Unity formed. Unity was strong and defiant; fear and consequences be damned. She held her dignity and self respect even against Cronan's cruel father. Cronan is nothing like him, and soon she could see that, too, despite his position and the power imbalance between them. There was something sweet about these two together. Another wonderful read. 5 stars.

This is the first book I have read from the Alien Abduction Series and I really enjoyed it and getting to know Cronan and Unity. They were both such strong characters and I also enjoyed getting to know some of the other characters briefly as well. I look forward to reading more from this series including the next book Vera and the Victor: A SciFi Alien Romance which will be Grabon’s story.

Love this series !!! Another superb story !!!!

As A!ways, another brilliant foray into the universe of the alphabet mates !!!
Cronan has very recently been made king since the rebellion. His father was the king, but Conan himself was the product of an indiscretion. But he trained and trained and found himself leading the rebellion.
So here he is .
Unity was abducted from her home and flown millions of miles awsy. When she woke, it was to understand that , yes, aliens DO exist, and she wasn't home amymore. She was now a slave.
Yeah, Not part of her 5 year plan !!!!
As these 2 get together , the palace intrigue is not what either of them are ready for. We get to meet some new characters, and catch up with some old friends.
Always a win !!!

Cronan was the illegitimate son of the King. To save his people he over throws the king and takes throne over. Besides the kingdom, he inherits a rebellious slave. Unity was taken from Earth and sold to the old king. She refused to be an obedient slave and was put in the dungeon. She is just what he needs to trace the corruption in the kingdom with her financial background. I love this book and the characters. This alien abduction series by the alphabet is very good. I highly recommend you check this book out and all the other books in the series. Can't wait for the next one.

Minimal "alien-ness" here. I liked the book to start, I liked this FMC. But there's nothing here that screams alien. I mean she learns to read their number system and finds a hidden money laundering in it within minutes ...

Also the MMC showed a reluctance to any below the belt action, and so she... Does it when he's still sleeping. Which just gave the ick.

There's a lot of side characters and pop up antagonists that disappear and so it leaves the plot and side characters mostly unremarkable and unnecessary.

Disappointing because I found I liked the basics of the story but was detoured by the rest.

I do so love this series!
Cronan is outstanding as the new king of Farlain. It’s tough work learning what is needed. When he rescues a human woman in the dungeons, he’s in for a surprise! What an asset she becomes. I love Unity! She’s a never-give-up woman, sharp as a tack, and very loving. I’m thrilled that she is able to assist Cronan. Their romance is hot🔥! I definitely want to see more in this world…who might be next? I’m very fond of Barthar, his 2nd in command, and see great promise in Grabon, as well. Well, Ms. Phillips?

I am so excited to have a new installment in the Alien Abduction Series (or as I call it, the Alphabet Series lol). This doesn't disappoint. Honey is so good at world and character building. Having left this world for awhile, coming back to it was refreshing, and no you do not have to read the others to read this one! However, if you've read them, there were subtle reminders of the world to bring you right back. Action, Adventure, and Romance! Kudos and cant wait for the next!! V for Victory? The guesses continue ;)

I love how they first met. Her defiance made me smile.
Unity not only was smart , think analytical mind, but beautiful. And sweet. Wanting to be useful.
Cronan is now king. Strong, not willing to kill unless necessary. Smart. He is able to see through most deceit. And he doesn't trust easily.
Betrayal, intrigue, romance with steam.
Loved the HEA.
Action throughout. I could feel the frustration of Unity and Cronan.
This is an excellent series.

This is an impeccable story. Honey has created another masterpiece. The characters and storyline draw you in from the very beginning. This isn't just another love story. It's about a male coming into his own. Righting the wrongs of his predecessor.

Honey has written a beautiful, compassionate, and powerful romance filled with action and deception.

His patience and understanding would draw any female's attention but his heart is set on one.

An amazing read with a beautiful happy ending 💜.

This is such a sweet love story no matter how the connection came about. Unity was abducted and the old king decided he had to have her. She declined and ended up in the dungeon. I love a strong, snarky but good female lead character.
Cronan is the new overwhelmed king. He's young, strong and is so good to Unity. Their connection is fast with a slow burn romance and good communication. The writing flows, the plot twists will keep you guessing and it all leads to a great HEA. I enjoyed coming back to the Kaisarian universe and am excited for the next story.

A compelling read!

Unity and Cronan seem like an odd match at the beginning. She was abducted from Earth and sold to a cruel king. I loved her feistiness and how it was displayed in the best way. Cronan is an honorable dude, and there was some kind of magic between the two of them. His enemies literally smiled in his face while plotting against him. I loved how fast the story moved, and how much these two characters seemed to belong together. It was a fun addition to the series and I'm looking forward to reading the next one!

This was a very good book and I throughly enjoyed every page I turned. Unity was abducted from Earth and is a slave that’s been taken to the King who is a very nasty man and who she kicks between his legs and ends up in the dungeon. Then the King dies and he had no legitimate heirs but had an illegitimate son Cronan who is now the new King and he rescues Unity from the dungeons and takes her to his room for protection as he realizes she is his mate. Great book.

Short. I guess it was meant as a novella.
Story could’ve had better development, but it was the usual. Large alien male claims human slave female. They fall in lust and love. Slight intrigue from Cronan being the new king and needing to ensure there are no rebellions, but for the most part it’s all resolved super fast.
Needed better editing, a few times instead of a name or place name the book stated: xxx
It was a placeholder as if the author didn’t know what name to put in and then forgot to change it. Quite unprofessional and speaks to the poorer quality of the recent books.

I absolutely love these Alien Abduction books and I can't believe we are already to U! Cronan is such a good male. He is reluctant to be king but he is perfect for the job. Unity is abducted from Earth for the old, bad king. She isn't a wilting flower though and the bad king finds she isn't going to be an easy slave. She is awesome! Unity is strong, sweet, smart and funny..in other words perfect for Cronan. I really enjoyed this fast paced story.

Cronan is the illegitimate son of a corrupt king. Luckily, he overthrows him and takes the castle for himself. In so doing, he discovers an abducted human female being held in the dungeons, Unity. She has spent so much time alone in her life that she has trouble opening her heart to anyone. Cronan is a good and kind protector for her. Unity is another very intelligent FMC that Honey has penned. She is a talented accountant and is great with numbers and business dealings. Cronan is not only attracted to her, but she is an asset to his holdings. As they both fall for each other, mischief and allegiances to the old king are afoot. If you're looking for a sweet and spicy read, then this will fit the order! Also, loved getting to know Barthar and I believe his story is coming! So much goodness inside!

Honey Phillips’s newest adventure features a reluctant king who is more a warrior than royalty and the female human who had been enslaved by his debauched, estranged father. Neither was looking for love , but it sure got ahold of them. It doesn’t hurt that she’s an accountant and can help him find the money from the slave ring and set trade agreements right with her intellect. They are perfectly matched.

Too much sex

The story was overshadowed by the instant lust of the two major characters. I would expect that after having to fight off the former king the fmc wouldn't fall into lust of his successor as soon as she was released from a dungeon. Unfortunately, most of these stories have an extremely muscular tall and larger than normal human male (in all areas) hero, of course. When will these stories have a normal mmc as the hero?

I've greatly enjoyed Honey Phillips series using the alphabet for the FMC names. In this book Unity is released from prison by Cronan, who just overthrew the king (his father). Unity was acquired as a slave plaything by his father but thrown into prison when she kneed him in objection to being mauled. There is insta attraction between Cronan and Unity, and lots of snark and humor in the story.

I always enjoy stories by Honey Phillips. This might just be my favorite so far. I loved Cronan. He was kind, compassionate and had integrity. Unity is smart, strong, kind and altruistic. They compliment each other perfectly. If you like steamy alien-human romances with a HEA, you will enjoy this book.

Captured, Molested then imprisoned.

After being abducted from earth and delivered to a pompous king of the planet Unity kicked him in his jewels, and promptly got sent to the dungeon. When the King died with no legitimate heir his illegitimate son became King. The new King inherited Unity now they need to get to know and trust each other, so they can bring the world back from the brink of world war, and clean up the mess the dead king made. Good Adult Read.

Talk about steamy, this a definite book that I will keep to read again and again. . Our gal was abducted and wakes up on an alien planet and a pleasure slave for the king she rather be sent to the dungeon than comply. Our guy usurp the throne for the good of the planet.and finds her in the dungeon. The chemistry is fire between them and gets hotter as they go. I can’t wait for the next book.

Unity is abducted from earth and kept in a dungeon for refusing a tyrant king’s advances. Cronan is the illegitimate son of the tyrant king and now his only heir, this makes him King.
Cronan finds Unity in the dungeon and releases her although he has to claim her in order for her to be safe.
Together they will navigate their journey and find their happiness.
