Wow. Just wow. They really outdid themselves on this visual guide into the world and characters of Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland adaptation film. Pristine, glossy photographs, sketches and a myriad of extremely interesting trivia tidbits are crammed tastefully and beautifully on an expanse of 72 pages. In-depth character profiles, histories and quotes are also featured upon nearly every page. It also includes a glossary at the back of the book comprised of words and phrases in Outlandish, "a strange, old language, full of weird and wonderful words" only spoken in the Outlands and also, I'm assuming, in the film. You can really tell they put a lot of effort in the making of this book and it truly makes one even more anxious to see the release on March 5th of this year. Contrary to the aimed reading level, this is far from being a book just for little children but for all fans of the upcoming movie who wish to be submerged in Tim Burton's and Linda Woolverton's Underland mythos, language and culture. Armed with this visual guide, come March, I know I am totally prepared to fall down the rabbit hole!

It's a nice way to present a movie or a novel or a story for kids or people who don't read often
It has great pictures and designs
Yet kids should have principals before reading this book as it has some behavior changing indirectly
In the end it uses its character to present real persons in life
Or may be she was just dreaming ;)!!!!
We never know

A fun look through the film that children would enjoy but some actually information other than the basic plot would have been nice.

★Publisher:Puffin books
★Time:11/3 30mins, 11/5 40mins =70mins
★7words summary:Alice, boring, escape, party, marriage, propose, impossible
★Discussion Question:
1)If you are forced to marry with someone, will you marry or escape it?
My answer:I will definitely escape from it, I won't care how.
2)Have you ever thought 7 impossible things before breakfast?
My answer:No. But after I read that part, it seems interesting to me.

Actually this book is not exactly the same book which I'm currentry reading. Because I couldn't find my book on the lists, so I choce similar one instead. Mine has 236pages. I thought I have seen its movie before so it would help me to understand the story even though it's quite long. However, it used so many difficult words that I have never seen, so it took me really long to read. Though the story is interesting and I like it, I'm afraid it's really hard for me to finish reading it.

I must admit that I'm a bit shamed to be putting this movie guide on my reading list before the actual story. I remember listening to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass at my father's knee as a young child, but somehow I think I should read it again before I post it. We've owned the book forever, but I haven't read it to our girls yet. Neither have I taken them to the movie; after seeing Coraline (just my hubby and I) and Where the Wild Things Are, I am wary of what our girls watch. I would have to preview it first.

In any case, this book is a guide to the movie and provides a lot of background information that I have forgotten over the years. Now that we've read this, I am eager to read the orignal to see what's different.

This is based on the newer version of Alice in Wonderland that is basically a sequel to the original Alice in Wonderland movie. The book has pages dealing with events and generally major characters in the movie. Each page will have photos, drawings, and/or information on the person or what is going on.

The photos are well done, and a lot of the pages are made to appear as if they are actually from a very old book. For anyone who liked the movie, this book will help them remember what went on and will be a delight to just peruse from time to time.

Wonderful images from the movie! Great additional tidbits that I either never picked up from the movie, or were not included in the movie. This book was just what I was looking for.
