SOS Hotel #4

SOS Hotel: Great Service from Top to Bottom

Rate this book
Something is wrong with Tom Collins. More wrong than usual.

Tom’s being nice.

I should have known trouble was right around the corner. One attempted murder later, and Reynard is forced to disarm Tom (literally).

No bartender, means no bar. Zee is grumpy and avoiding me, and the hotel’s measly profits are dwindling by the day.

Things are not going well. We need our broken, foul-mouthed Tom Collins back.

But don’t worry. Zee says saving Tom should be a walk in the park for me—General Vex, and Lycian, Scourge of Demios.

Turns out, that walk in the park is more like a road to hell. But I've got this...

My name is Adam Vex. I'm your average and mundane, human host. Welcome to another crazy day at the SOS Hotel.

I was genuinely thrilled that this book placed a strong emphasis on Adam's secret, and the anticipation of its revelation in the next installment has me so excited. The way the other characters grappled with their confusion regarding Adam’s true nature was quite entertaining. Still, I’m so looking forward to Zee and Victor uncovering just how formidable a creature Adam truly is.

The plot in this book stood out as the most compelling in the series so far. The rescue of Tom Collins added substantial depth and progression to the story, propelling it much further than previous volumes. At last, we’re starting to glean more information about the overarching narrative that ties this series together, which I found incredibly satisfying.

As always, Adam continues to be my absolute favorite. He unquestionably deserves all the love and protection that those around him can offer. I can already feel the tears welling up at the thought of his full backstory being unveiled; it will be an emotional moment. Victor, on the other hand, is a complex mix of mystery and straightforwardness. In this book, however, he made some significant blunders that caused me to temporarily lose faith in him. Nevertheless, Adam's capacity for forgiveness helped me to reconcile my feelings by the end of the story.

Zee experienced considerable growth in this installment, becoming much more relatable as he allowed his true personality to shine through. His character development made him highly likable, something I hadn’t expected to feel so strongly.

The evolution of the relationships throughout this book was striking. The connection between Victor and Adam is palpable, filled with an intense desire for intimacy, though numerous interruptions add a humorous twist to their attempts. Meanwhile, Zee and Adam finally seem to align on their feelings and relationship status, which is a huge step forward; it’s heartwarming to see them officially together. Zee and Victor are also slowly building their bond, but I can't help but wish Adam would take a step back and give them the space to move at their own pace, especially considering the historical enmity between their races.

The one sex scene included was undeniably the highlight for me, as it truly turned up the heat in the narrative. I find myself eagerly anticipating the moment when all three characters come together in what promises to be a delightfully chaotic relationship dynamic.

In summary, my admiration for Adam remains unwavering, and I find everything surrounding him utterly enchanting. His character is the heart of the story, and I can’t wait to see how his journey unfolds in the future.

I don’t know what Adam is!!! And it's driving me insane but I also know I get to figure it out really soon and I’m kinda scared. 😅 The smaller plot of this book was about Tom and I freaked out when he was broken!!! I love Tom, he adds so much sass and sharpness to the hotel, if Zodiac wasn’t enough. 😂 Speaking of Zodiac… I enjoyed the small moments where he cracked around Reynard, revealing how much he is really falling for the vampire. 👀
I also enjoyed the moments where Reynard cracked around Zodiac. I’m looking forward to witnessing them both finally break and resolve that sexual tension. This book is probably my favorite one of the series so far, I laughed out loud a few times. Enemies are conversing, secrets are rising to the surface, I am so ready to start the next book!!

I was provided an e-copy of the book by the author in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

✅ Characters
✅ Supernatural Hotel
✅ Vampires, demons, one "ordinary human" and other creatures
✅ Fast pace
✅ Entertaining plot
✅ Adam making even more enemies
✅ Funny banter
✅ Sexual tension & we’re getting closer to the MMM romance
✅ Adam explaining that frogs are as big as horses (because a human should know all about frogs and Adam is definitely 100% human)
❗️❗️Trigger warning: murder attempts, murders, and mild gore

The craziness continues…

“Just once, I’d like to leave the hotel and not get kidnapped. Or arrested. Or put in a pie. But no, Adam Vex can’t catch a break.”

Poor Adam is one unlucky human (and he is really, truly 100% human!). Every week, another disaster strikes the hotel, or his personal life. This time, Tom Collins is the problem. He is not himself, he is polite and nice, and everything the AI bartender should have been from the start. Adam, Zee, and Reynard need to figure out who hacked into Tom Collins's system (preferably before whoever hacked into Tom can listen to everything Adam might or might not have confessed to Tom about himself) and find a way to get him back as soon as possible.

While the problem in this book was about Tom Collins, the plot truly revolved around Adam’s identity. He’s made many enemies in the past few weeks, and a few of them are starting to realize that Adam is not 100% human as he likes to claim. Gideon Cain will also likely be back in the picture in the next book, which is a good thing because I was wondering what happened to him since we haven’t heard from him since the first book.

WHAT ARE YOU ADAM VEX???
It’s driving me nuts that we still don’t know after 4 books, but we keep slowly, very slowly getting closer with each book. I need an answer!!!

I frowned at the limp and basic Tom Collins behind the bar. Zee had draped a sign around his neck that read: OUT OF ORDER. Then in brackets had added, more out of order than usual.

I missed Tom so much in this book. He is at the heart of the hotel, and his foul mouth and irreverence are some of my favorite aspects of the place. It just felt dead without him around to insult people and give his unsolicited opinion. It is hinted that he might be more than a defective AI, and Adam even has a theory about Tom’s true nature… I am curious to learn more about our favorite barman.

“How is anyone supposed to tell if he’s joking? His resting Reynard face never fucking changes.”

Here is how things are going between Zee and Reynard:
-Zee likes Reynard, but won’t admit it to him.
-Reynard likes Zee, but won’t admit it to him.
-Reynard is trying to make jokes.
-Zee can’t find him funny, because he doesn’t like him and Reynard is the absolute worst.
-Zee sends dick jokes to Reynard.
-Reynard can’t admit that he likes it when Zee texts him, so he just ignores him, because Zee is the most annoying.
-Poor Adam is stuck in the middle, trying to get them to admit their feelings to each other so they can have a threesome and live happily ever after (good luck Adam).

“Sweet baby Gareth!” Zee yelled.
“It’s Jesus,” I corrected, standing and searching for the flying, hissing thing.
“That’s not Jesus, it’s a fucking pixie!”

Zee and Adam still have a lot of sexual tension between them, but for some reason, Zee is staying away from Adam, and running away as soon as Adam hints at them getting naked and dirty together. That is yet another issue for Adam to deal with, as he has no clue why Zee would not want to be with him anymore.

Thankfully, despite that awkwardness on Zee’s part, they still have good chemistry and can work together to keep the hotel running. There is still good banter between them, so it’s just a matter of time before things go back to “normal” between them.

“Regardless of my feelings, which I am still trying to untangle, to admit to caring for my enemy is a step I cannot yet take.”

I like that there is more communication about feelings between Adam, Zee, and Reynard. We are slowly inching toward the MMM romance we were promised, and the sexual tension between them all is intense. Reynard and Zee both admitted that they don’t actually hate each other and that they even feel some complicated feelings for the other, but they didn’t say it to each other of course, leaving Adam in the middle of it all, trying to bring them together and show them that their feelings are reciprocated.

This book has the same vibe as the 4 previous ones. It is a fast-paced, quick read and very entertaining book that is easy to read in one or two sittings. Chaos continues to ensue everywhere Adam and the SOS Hotel management go, and I can't wait for the next book, if only to finally learn what Adam is, and to see if Zee and Reynard will be able to man up and admit their feelings to each other (although I would not mind some "hate-smut" between them either, anything will be hot).

eeeeeeeeeh, those last sentences, I would freak out if I couldn't jump straight to the next book.
Phew, and besides, it was the best book so far.
But it would be so great if those three idiots didn't voluntarily walk into every trap.
I'm having a freaking adrenaline rush. What drugs are in these books?

Some days, I wondered what the point of it all was. Why try and survive, when I had nothing to survive for, just chaos and terror and fate hunting me down? But then these little moments happened. The quiet, soft moments, when everything felt normal and right and safe. The moments when I could stop and marvel at the brilliant purple of Zee’s eyes, at the way his grin encompassed his entire face, not just his dancing mouth. 😍💜😍💜😍

“Know that I’ll slaughter everyone here, if you wish it,” he whispered. “Give the word, and rivers will run red with the blood of any who would dare cause you harm.”
A shiver of lust shortened my breath, scorching the tears dry. “Oh, that’s . . . sweet. But probably unnecessary.” Daddy Vampire was hot when he got all stabby.
🫠🖤🫠

His tongue swept out, and licked up my finger—warm, and wet, and firm. His eyes held me transfixed. He angled my finger, sucked it between his fangs, and every single thought fell out of my head. Apart from one. I really wished my finger was my dick.
A tiny mew squeaked out of me. Oh-kay, daddy, do me now. Backward, forward, upside down. I didn’t care. Do me any way. I bit my lip to keep from blurting how much he’d set me ablaze.

Things happen.

I'm obviously amazing throughout this book. 99.9% amazing. A few tiny things happen that I'm not proud of... Just 0.01% not amazing. Blink, and you miss it. Maybe look away too?

Do I regret it?
Yes.
Will I do it again?
Also yes.

It's all Daddy Fuck-Hard's fault.

“Now might be a good time to demonstrate some of those abilities you claim not to have,” Reynard suggested. […]
“What do you think I can do that you can’t?”
“I realize you are displeased with me. And we will discuss it. But in order to do that, now would be a fabulous time to demonstrate what you supposedly cannot do, Adam.”
“I am very mad at you.”
“Naturally. Now, please focus on perhaps preventing our impending deaths so we might survive to argue later.”

I loved this part of them rescuing Tom Collins. I missed him. But ofc I also loved our three MCs. With esp Zee being his fabulous, OTT self.

“Adam, some assistance?”
“Although, Daddy Vampire.” Zee finger-walked up Reynard’s chest. “Is so fucking hot.”
Oh dear. If he said something he’d regret, it would be my fault for not stopping him sooner.

“Stick your penis up my ass and hammer me like a cheap whore,” Zee snorted.
Oh-kay, the regret ship had sailed.

💀 oh Zee!

And now I’m getting ready for THE BIG REVEEEEAAAAAAL!!!!

NEW RELEASE DATE: Out NOW!

This crazy series gets more bonkers and intense with every book.

In this one, Zee learns he has a new (peculiar) fear, Reynard comes to terms with being a vampire outcast, and Adam? He's trying to hold the hotel and himself together while chasing gremlins, keeping Zee and Reynard from killing each other (#enemiestolovers #reyzee) and fixing everyones favorite bartender, Tom Collins, who seems to have developed a homicidal fault (more homicidal than usual).

Nothing is as it seems at the SUS SOS Hotel. But don't panic, Management has it all under control. Some of it under control...

None of it.

It's chaos.

I'm obsessed with Adam Vex!

He might be the unluckiest human 😉 ever at this point, but the shenanigans he gets into are thoroughly entertaining. The being trapped inside an aquarium tank is like my worst nightmare but the whole frog discussion was funny enough to take mind off of it 😂

I love Zee almost as much as I love Adam, but I'm still not sold on Vampire Daddy - he's so secretive and I don't trust him at all right now.

Another great instalment and I can't wait for the next book!

Sweet baby Gareth (iykyk) this was SO FUCKING ADORABLE I CAAAAAN’T. This is without a doubt my fave of the series so far. I was swooning, I was giggle-snorting, I was pining, I was feeling, I was squealing. Zee is just so so precious. His love for Adam, his fear of frogs, his protectiveness, his snark, aargh. He might be one of my favourite characters ever. I love him.
And then there’s Victor LAUGHING?! And Adam being unfairly cute and vicious?! And don’t get me started on the MMM-dynamics 😮‍💨
Gaah, this was perfect 💕🐸

Honestly, these keep getting better. This installment really gave us more of a peak as to what exactly is going on with the very boring, very human Adam Vex. I really enjoy how both Zodiac and Reynard totally humor Adam and his stance on being a boring human.

Book 4 also finally gave us a taste of MMM between Zee, Adam and Reynard. And it was yummmmmy. I need more of this dynamic.

Also, poor Tom Collins really was missed by all. Turns out he may be a bit more than just a snarky AI?

I feel like we are getting closer to the heart of the matter. What is Gideon Cain really up to?

“I am a nice person, most of the time. But sometimes, people like you and Gideon and Sebastien mistake niceness for weakness.”

Oye, me ha gustado el giro de 90 grados que ha dado la novela. Poco he de decir sin arriesgarme a spoiler. Pero estos tres personajes me dan la vida, sobre todo ciertos secundarios.

Gracias.

I wanted to love it more than I actually did 🤷‍♀️

You have to be in the right mood for these books, and even more, you have to be in the right mood for Michael Lesley’s narration. He’s one of the good ones, but he’s VERY exuberant and OTT. And I guess I just wasn’t in the right frame of mind for it.

Such a shame.

If you loved the previous books in this series, you’ll love this one, too. And I’d definitely recommend to start with book 1, as there’s a bigger story arc and the relationship between Adam the totally normal and inconspicuous human, Zee the Incubus and Victor the Vampire daddy is rather slow burn.

This time, it’s the AI barkeeper Tom Collins who needs rescuing, having been “fixed” by an internet update and transformed into a boring, occasionally murderous barkeeper. And we can’t have that, right? We want the snarky, sarcastic Tom with his penchant for custom made cocktails of the “Fuck Around and Find Out” variety.

Ofc, that leads to Adam being kidnapped, assaulted, meeting old (and new) enemies, and making new very unlikely friends.

It’s fun, it’s completely ridiculous and OTT, and it brings us one step closer to actually finding out what Adam is hiding under his glamour. And we take a huge step towards the MMM part 🍾🥂

It’s not you, it’s me. Or in this case: it’s not the book, I just wasn’t in the right mood for it, that’s why I’ll only rate it with 4 stars.

Still: a great addition to the series, can’t wait for the next audio!

"How is it possible that in just a few short weeks, you have become my life? Why do you keep saving me? What are you, Adam Vex..."

Well that is a million dollar question is it not. WHAT, not who, ARE YOU ADAM VEX? And I'm sorry to say folks that although I have an idea bouncing around in my head, we still haven't had the big reveal yet! But don't worry, I can safely say it's coming soon.

This series is just so freaking wacky and I absolutely have so much fun reading them! Being in Adam's head is hilarious and I never know what's going to come out of his mouth next. Or Zees. Or, surprisingly, even Reynard's sometimes! Vampire Daddy definitely has some secret layers going on behind his mask of indifference.

" I was incredulous we were discussing Reynard's penis now, here, in the hotel foyer."

We are also making our way closer to the MMM goodness that has been promised. Nash is such a freakin tease I tell ya! This one had me on the edge of my seat with the UST that was flying around these three. AND THAT CLIFFHANGER!!! I felt that one in my chest and I absolutely need the next one of these books ASAP!

“What the fuck are you people?”
“SOS Hotel management.” I straightened, sucked in a deep, centering breath, and smiled. “Sorry about the mess.”

I’m having a great fucking time with this series (even with the damn cliffhangers). Not much more to say than that, really.

Except maybe for one thing: I really need to know what Adam is. It’s driving me insane.

I also think we finally deserve a real taste of the romance between the three of them. This wasn’t nearly enough.

"Zee was a lot to take in up close, and so was Reynard, but in a very different way. Zee was loud, rambunctious, and physical. Reynard was restrained power. He could snap me in half, but at the same time, his touch was as delicate as butterfly wings. He could move faster than I could track, but right now, he barely moved at all."

Ariana Nash continues the craziness in book 4 of her SOS Hotel series. Adam's troubles continue in SOS Hotel: Great Service from Top to Bottom and in this instalment, whatever is happening with the (usually) hilariously murdery AI bartender Tom Collins does not bode well and needs fixing. As a priority.

SOS Hotel: Great Service from Top to Bottom is still MM on the romance front, and whilst Adam has fallen for both his paranormal business partners, he's currently just scratching that itch with Zee. When he can pin him down. And sort of a bit with Vampire Daddy (it's a Zee thing). And then there's the whole watching thing. With the three of them.....

To be continued in book 5 - SOS Hotel: No Rest for the Wicked - and I can't wait! Ariana Nash is the ultimate slow-burn tease Queen!

Another amazing instalment in the SOS Hotel series! Book 4, SOS Hotel: Great Service From Top To Bottom features more of our two favourite sexy supernaturals (hot vampire Victor Reynard and chaotic incubus Zodiac) and perfectly normal human hotel manager, Adam Vex. Although the further through the series we’re getting, the more we’re learning that Adam is definitely not the 100% human he is pretending to be…

In this instalment of the series, something is wrong with the hotel’s rude, bitchy AI bartender, Tom Collins. He’s being polite to guests, making drinks correctly and hasn’t spiked anything with cocaine… Adam is worried. In an effort to uncover what has happened to his bartender, he takes a trip into the murky underground Mafia network run by the Fae. Accompanied by Reynard and Zodiac, Adam battles savage Fae business ladies, learns where all the missing demon body parts are going and starts to uncover more devious schemes from evil sorcerer Gideon Cain.

This series is just so much fun; chaotic, lighthearted, sexy… I am still intrigued about Adam’s secret supernatural side and I URGENTLY need #reyzee to finally happen… Reynard and Zodiac so close to finally admitting they like each other 😭

Read SOS Hotel 4 for:
✨ Vampire x Incubus x plain ol’ human(??)
✨ The gremlins are at it again
✨ Trapped in a creepy aquarium
✨ Magical demon sperm (yikes tho)
✨ Basic Tom Collins (booooo)
✨ A pixie with the power to kill ten men
✨ Adam being really good at being a market stall vendor 🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you so much to the author and GRR for an ARC of this book! It is available on 19th June 2024!

It’s a fun series but it gets repetitive after a while. It’s a given by now that Adam has the hots for Zee and Victor and yet it’s mentioned at least every few pages through all of these books. Also, the baddies are all way too much concerned about a ramshackle hotel and its managers (imo).

I’m also asking myself if we ever get to know what being with D Adam is. Here some guesses Death, Destruction, Destiny, Dragon, Devil, Dokkaibe as he’s for sure no Demon, Daemon, or Demigod. I’m sure I missed a few things but even though it looks like as we will get to know more in the next book I’m only believing it when I read the revelation.

I definitely want to know what is going to happen next so I’ll be reading those last three books but honestly, I’m not as exited about this series as I was in the beginning. But there’s also I chance I’ll get positively surprised.

This series continues to get better and better. In this 4th installment, we have another volume filled with equal parts humor and heart, all within a unique urban fantasy world . I love all three main characters so much, and each pairing within that threesome gets a time to shine here. The slowest burn is between Zee and Reynard of course, but I know the payoff will be rewarding.

That cliffhanger though! But given where it leaves off, I’m certain we’ll get answers to some of the bigger questions in the next volume, something for which I'm very excited.

I was given an arc of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

“Zee had been texting a one-thousand-year-old vampire baron, dick jokes?“

My least favorite in the series so far. Unfortunately this didn’t hold up the the previous books mostly because I’m tired of all the back and forth and because of the inconsistency and repetitiveness.

“He’d clearly been much more than a broken AI who liked to verbally assault his customers, and sometimes poison them.”

We are four books into the series but have come nowhere. The relationship between Adam, Victor and Zee is progressing but only extremely slow. As soon as something positive happens between them something ruins it and they need to find each other again. Ariana manages to justify why it takes such time for them to come to terms with the fact that they like each other. But this have been going on for four books now. Because the books are so short you are tricked into believing that it isn’t that long, but in total we have now been through 720 pages and we are still stuck in the beginning and only 2 weeks(?) away from the beginning of the first book.

“How do you get a dick out of a ketchup bottle?” Zee’s unmistakable voice piped up.

When beginning this series it was (and still is) one of the best things I’ve read, but I don’t feel it with the latest book anymore. Everything is beginning to feel to repetitive. The main characters are trying to live their peaceful lives while running SOS Hotel but there is always something bad happening. They can’t get a single happy moment and it’s honestly a bit boring when it goes on for so long because it’s not a surprise anymore. A character get kidnapped and saved. They try to stop some shady business, get in trouble and then solve it. Every book is the same just focused on different characters. So much happens in these books that it makes you feel that things progress but in truth it’s just more unnecessary conflict being built up. I have read 720 pages in total yet the characters don’t know what to do with their feelings for each other, Adam have just begun telling them who he really is and I still don’t know how they will resolve all the problems they have with all the enemies they have acquired throughout these books.

“But this fae wants my cock for face creams, Adam.”

Lastly I just want to mention the inconsistency. Adam is working full time to keep his real identity intact, doing everything from lying to deleting footage and information about himself and sometimes even killing people to keep it safe. Yet on numerous occasions now he lets people who know he’s something else than human go free. Why? I don’t know. He have had chances to kill these people yet he doesn’t even though they can be a threat to him in the future. And I don’t understand it. He wouldn’t save Zee from Sebastian because he didn’t want to reveal his identity but he wouldn’t kill Agatha even though she suspected him to be something else. Why?

“His face kind of contorted, lips turning down. Wait. Were we still laughing or was he having some kind of emotional seizure?”

I don’t have a lot of positive things to say because I didn’t really enjoy reading this. In the first book I loved Zodiac’s overwhelming personality and Adam’s straightforwardness. It was really enjoyable to follow and see whether Victor would be someone we could trust or not. But now I just feel annoyed because the characters doesn’t change. The story continues to repeat itself over and over. The same conflicts come back and just isn’t solved.

“Know that I’ll slaughter everyone here, if you wish it,” he whispered. “Give the word, and rivers will run red with the blood of any who would dare cause you harm.”

Ariana Nash is one of my favorite authors and I’ve read all of her books, giving them all from 5 and 4, and on some occasions 3 stars. Sometimes her books hits just right and sometimes they don’t and I like that about her writing. That she is able to create such vastly different stories and characters. None of her works are the same and you just have to admire her for that. Unfortunately this was one of those books that just didn’t work for me.

(At least the quotes are still quotable.)

“Razorsedge is so much easier,” Zee declared. “All I have to do is get my dick out and everyone’s happy.” His head tilted, face turning thoughtful. “Maybe I should try that here?”
“Definitely do not do that.”
