Discovered by Yen Press Senior Editor JuYoun Lee, NaRae was able to make her U.S. debut working on a series that already had legions of devoted fans. It's a lot to live up to, but NaRae proved to be up to the challenge by delivering artwork that looks remarkably polished for a relative newbie to the world of international manga publishing.

How can an ending be both so heartwarming and heart wrenching? I am satisfied with the outcome. An amazing series that is worth reading over again.

I was going to give this closer to 4 stars but those last couple pages got me and made my rating higher.

A great ending to an intriguing series. It was a great idea to point out the strong similarities between Roxanna's and Naerim's lives; it really showed how despite the circumstances, the people in your life and how you choose to view your situation can affect your outlook on life in general.

I also felt that everyone got an ending that fit their character. While I felt the drama between Naerim and Fetechou throughout the first half to two thirds of this volume dragged out a little more than past volumes, their ending suited their characters. Naerim and Fetechou felt (for me at least) right. It was an ending that fit the couple. It wasn't cheap, didn't pull punches, and left both a beautifully sad and happy ending to their story.

The same can be said about Roxanna. Her ending befitted her character. While it was far from happy, I feel anything else would've been an injustice to her character and just made the story cheesy by trying to make everyone happy.

I was shocked by the developments of Laszlo's and Sammi's characters. Still, what developed fit them both. Their interactions between one another are also funny to watch and read. However, that bonus story with the two of them only added to what irked me as I was reading. Volume 3 gave a small hint of Laszlo's past life before he became a vampire. I was really excited by that. While I found Laszlo cruel at times in the previous volumes, there was still something about his character that intrigued me that wasn't there in Roxanna. I was hoping to get Laszlo's full backstory . I supposed I'll just have to live with the assumptions I came up with after reading Sammi's and Laszlo's bonus story.

While I think my favorite for this series will always be volumes 1 and 2, the series itself has been a pleasure to read, and this final volume provided a strong and fitting ending.

I am so torn on this series because, in a lot of ways, I feel like 1-2 is the true story while 3-4 is a sequel. Since Bloody Sweet is advertised as an entire singular series, I'm going to review it as such.

A big issue with this story is, however, it's good as two separate parts and not a whole. Part 1 and 2 are disjointed the most when observed side-by-side; elements that exist in part one that SHOULD be addressed in part two (what happened to Naerim being connected to a spirit? And that spirit being able to enact her harsher feelings?). Volume 2 even ended in a way that closed all the loose plot points of that part of the story. Then you have the cliffhanger in volume two that segues into volumes three and four, introducing a lot of stuff that just... feels disconnected.

Roxanna feels shoehorned in as a darker parallel to both Fetechou and Naerim. Lazslo feels half-baked and takes up time being hot and exasperated. Sammi is still boring, the bandmates and Hyeolyeol are forgotten halfway through (and the fact he has a crush on Naerim is never explicitly resolved). Even the individual plotlines between Naerim and Fetechou (with Fetechou mirroring Naerim's position in part 1, wanting to die, while Naerim has to learn that her happiness isn't going to disappear if Fetechou does) feels directly contradictory to the morals and themes of the first half.

All in all, as a series with 2 parts, 2 volumes each? Wonderful. As a full series? It just doesn't work. The extra star just comes from how great part 1 was, and the gut punch that was the final few pages of the fourth volume. Like did you really need to have me go from ambivalence to wanting to bawl when I thought those pages would be needless filler???

I love this series

I'm g;ad that they don't show Roxanne growing. When anger is the only thing keeping you alive it will take a miracle for you to stop being angry.

OMG! WTF!!! That ending was heartwrenching. It was an afterwards years in the future and there is a definitive ending to the story……. So that sucks, but I respect how it finishes. It’s just so sad.😭
