This is such a weird, twisted book! Lanzing and Kelly lay the game plan, but Eamon Winkle takes the ball and runs with it. Winkle’s art creates this absurd, medieval-esque world, filled with a cast of mad doctors. Jakob Eyes is the star of the show, but the design of the rest of the doctors is full of a dark, dark imagination.
Doctor Jakob Eyes has an aversion to death. A true man of medicine, his sole and sworn goal is to prolong the lives of his patients... by any means necessary, and despite the many "horrifying consequences of the deathless consciousness."
Dark and gruesome, and I would like to see more from this world. The only problem I had with it were some possibly anti-trans statements, but I can't be sure if that was the author's intention.
