Stumbled upon this book in the souvenir shop inside the Musée Picasso, Antibes. One of the best children book I have ever read. It is interactive, full of interesting insights (even for adults!), beautifully crafted with pop-ups, cards... An easy 5/5.

A quick interactive read! Reading this together with my niece and nephew allowed me to delve into my childhood fascination with life stories of other people and the marvelous marks they leave behind.

Overall this is an okay book. Nicely interactive for the younger readership, yet nothing too special.

Meet the Artist! Pablo Picasso is a brilliant way to introduce young children to art using interactive, think pop-up, books(which are an architectural form unto themselves). As they open flaps and pull tabs, children will experience Picasso's journey as a painter and artist, and, through his artwork, understand how to see and experience art. Another title in this series on Alexander Calder is also available through Princeton Architectural Press. More titles will be forthcoming. A fascinating and engaging book that children (of all ages!) will pour over again and again. Highly recommended.

Often, when we look at a painting by Picasso, we think: “But it looks like it was done by a child!”
And that is because Picasso wanted to paint like a child, he wanted to see things as a child sees them: without preconceived ideas, without being influenced by how we’re supposed to see things.

The child in me loves this book. The adult in me has always loved Picasso.

My kids adored this book! Normally they kinda shrug at books about artists, but this one has them coming back for more!

Beberapa kali saya pernah menulis tentang Picasso dari berbagai sumber. Membaca sumber-sumber tersebut tidak pernah semenarik membaca buku ini. Sederhana dengan beberapa cuplikan gambar yang menarik.
